  1. Hey FCA!

Sorry I am so hit or miss here. I have skimmed over the weekend post. Did everyone make it through the ehp get together?

I finally got AI Rewind last night at 7:00. He done good.

Welp...I always think he sounds a bit different from banter to reading something scripted. But some people thought he lost his accent. :idk:

jamar - Hearing his voice last night at first took me back some. I guess when I listen to him live at concert or in clack his voice seems deeper to me. So when he first started talking last night it seemed so high pitched. I thought he sounded great and I loved all the inflections in his voice during the show.

I can't wait until he gets to himself. I thought his southern twang was there as well as his southern charm!!!

I didn't watch AI2 at all so this "rewind" is exciting for me. I bet Clay had never seen a lot of this footage himself before doing this project.

I've been playing around in KarenEh's smugmug albums today. Girl, you do good work. Tasty.gif

It'll always be the Doing Clay Aiken Tour to me!

    SummerTour4.gif

cindilu - Ohmygoodness ... this is fabulous! Love it. I also love the morphs. Thank you.

  2. Mornin' FCA!

I'm soooo happy that the "jump to another page" drop down thingy works. Yea!!!

Other than that ... I haven't been able to play much on this new format.

But thanks to those who have spent a lot of time getting it all set up for us.

luckiest - I never met anyone from my skating board except for one lady, and guess where I met her? Nope, not a skating event but at a ClayAiken concert!! :cryingwlaughter:

I do hope that Clay went to his reunion. I bet he had a wonderful time just being himself ... of course now that includes having success as a hawrtrockgod tucked inside. :eusa_whistle: I went to my 10 yr reunion and had a great time.

  3. I had to go back a ways ....

I was just reading an email from a business contact (yes, I'm at work and occasionally actually do work-related things). She works for the Denver Convention and Visitors Bureau but is in New York on business with another client and said she took the client to see Jersey Boys and that Clay was there!

Thats so cool, thanks for sharing. I'm glad that Clay seems to get around NYC without a lot of hassle. And he sure loves him some Broadway shows. Me too.

My 'When the Lights Go Down' audio recommends are posted now, with mp3's for those who desire them. <snip>

    When the lights go down,

At the end of the day, when this game that I play,

    Has gone another round.

As I lay there alone in this big empty bed,

Nothing but thoughts of you in my head.

I think of the things that I wish I had said,

    When you were still around.

I attended five summer concerts ... Frisco, Tulsa, and 3 of the CA ones. In San Diego, I had a front row table (but had to sit in the back of it so not technically front row ... right?) but anyhoo, this was when I first saw Clay stay on the stage to listen to Q sing this. It is also when I saw him turn to A and mouth the words I bolded above and I honestly thought I was going to faint ... he was so darn sexy. I never would have thought that one of my most powerful reaction during the SPHR Tour would be when Clay wasn't even singing but was instead, sitting in the dark watching his back-up singer/friend sing and he was mouthing these words toward A. Wowza! I'm so glad Thank4Clay caught this moment in her LA video, although my menory of this is still replaying in my mind from my view I had of him in San Diego.

windstar - I coulda sworn I did meet you somewhere along the way. ...I am so confused...

Oh goodness ... me too. Where? When?

Work and real life are kicking my big old ass, so I'm lucky if I can keep up just lurking here. I enjoy reading what y'all have to say.

How's the job going? Good to see you checking in.

It's funny, I've been luckiest1 since I came online waaaay back in '97 (during the height of my previous fandom, figure skating) and I now have friends who refer to me as "Lucky" in real life. It is especially helpful when there are 2 or 3 people with the same first name as me in the same room. LOL.

I got my "online" start during the 1998 Nagano Olympics on a skating forum. I was/am a Michelle Kwan follower.

I was driving home from church and heard "INVISIBLE" on my Top 40 radio. Yes, yes I did...I about ran into a bus!!! I can count on one hand how many times I've heard Clay on my radio, let alone at midday!!!

I can also count on my hand how many times I have heard a Clay song on my radio. And my first reaction when I do is to check and make sure it isn't my CD playing.

FromClaygary - Your grandson is beautiful! Your son looks so happy.

  4. Good morning FCA!

Wow ... a whole new look to this place. I will try and play around soon. Just when I thought I had

figured out the old place. :cryingwlaughter: O'well, need to keep my mind challenged ... right? (Darn ... I don't see a spellcheck! Oh ... there is one. I found it. Hmmm, have to download something to use it. Maybe later.)

I also love all the yarn and quilt talk. I certainly do not do that kind of work at all ... but I own some

quilts that I absolutely love and adore.

caro - "Jack" is beautiful! I wish you could be there with the little family so you could start that grandparent spoiling! So happy for you.

Happy birthday to PhillyluvsClay! Hope you have a great day.

Need to go read all the post made over the weekend.

  5. I'm so hopelessly behind here but hello everyone. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

I check in every day and try to read all the post, but don't always get that done much less post one myself.

    Happy belated birthday to AAIT!

    Happy birthday today to aikim.

Congrats to Caro on the grandbaby too.

I wanted to make the chat last night but suddenly, we had company. Knew I couldn't make it Thursday night cause DS#2 had a football game. But I've read over there a little and hope I can partake next time.

    Thanks for offering that.

I also didn't donate to keep FCA going this time but would be glad to when needed.

xxx4clay - I'm sorry I missed meeting you at the concerts this summer. I did meet AAIT in Tulsa at the busline. I also saw her in the lobby after the concert in Pala, but she was on the phone and I was moving through to catch up with my party so I didn't stop. Good luck to your WVM team today. A son of a friend of mine plays on your team. My friend has since moved to NC so I don't see her anymore but as far as I know, her son is there and playing.

  6. Good morning FCA!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY LDYJOCELYN!!!

Hope you have a great day!!!

I just got through listening to Clay sing Happy Birthday to you. :Thud: He sings that better than anybody.

I hope you get lots of good packages today. Here is one from me:

    th_palapants.jpg

    And a birthday kiss too:

    th_puckerup-1.jpg

aikim - Happy Anniversary. Enjoy your day ... even while doing the everyday kind of things.

shadylil - Thanks for the Texas joke. Here is something else for all the Texans on here .... I saw a commercial this morning. Two older men driving an older truck and talking about how the TX roads are improved by your $$$ when you pay your yearly car registration. They were saying how it is a cool thing to do and they are being all "hip" while saying this. One of them says, "Its off the hook dawg."

  7. Good morning FCA!

Lets just get this on the table .... :DoClay:

OK ... now I can get on with other things.

windstar.. thanks I feel fine today. I guess 500 acres in Texas isn't very big but it sure sounds big to me.

Its a lot for us too.

Just talked with Jen, and the time has been moved to 1:30 p.m. CDT tomorrow ... when I will be trying to teach a cello lesson in High Point! YIKES!!!

Caro - Prayers and good thoughts going out to you and Jen and baby today. Yea! Its baby day!!!!

Was that the Council Bluffs/Kansas City leg, when Jacob walked out in the middle of the show? I was glad I got to see Clay sing Emmanuel for the first time. That was so amazing.

Yes, it was Council Bluffs during JNT05 when Jacob walked away. I don't think a took a breath from the time I realized Clay was going to sing "Emmanuel" until he was done. :Thud:

You know that is what my sister said. She went to the Tulsa concert with me. She only recently told me that she didn't enjoy it much at all, but was afraid to say anything ... She said she could hardly understand a word he said. Especially during the 2nd medley and the banter between the girls. She said she was lost half the time and felt left out. She didn't understand why people found certain things funny.

It wasn't just your sister. I was at Tulsa and even being an inside Clay fan I didn't get most of it. I think where I was sitting the acoustics were horrible. I think of the 20-sumpin' concerts I've been to, that was my least favorite, for that reason. Plus I'd forgotten my binoculars. Couldn't see, couldn't hear. It was so frustrating. :( But at first I really thought it was me...like maybe I was getting old and losing my hearing or something.

Tulsa? I think it was in the top five worse venues I've been in - the fucking lack of air conditioning (that ALONE was a sin and a shame) - the orchestra was meh, the fact when Scarlett and Solo first passed by it, they thought it was some kind of penal institution, the wasy the seating was jammed up in there, the acoustics really were bad and I think I was in the second row. It didn't help that this came right after Jones Hall in Houston.

Clay was wonderful as usual - but it was distracting for me.

Penal institution! :cryingwlaughter: Yeah, that fits! Once we sat down in that place and realized the lack of air problem, I dug through my "concert tote" and discovered I still had two small fans in there I had brought to Frisco. (And extra batteries!!!) I took one and gave one to DD and we had them on us the entire time. Clay kept looking up at us longingly .... I'm sure because of the fans!!! Everytime he looked at us I would face the fan toward him and smile. (I really doubt he could see that we had fans, infact, I doubt he could see us ... but then right before the "cool" banner he asked the two girls sitting next to me how old they were so maybe he could see?! And btw, my DD yelled out "10". )

Anyhoo, I LOVED Tulsa. Maybe it helped being up in the balcony at this concert because I could hear Clay fine and I could see every move he made. I was quite taken by his footwork. I had never been up high enough where I could watch it.

Hey, did y'all know there is a poll at the OFC, created by the mods, asking who would be interested in a limited edition Clay bobble head doll being available at the OFC store? They are looking for input.....

Why do they need a poll? Just put them for sale. I think any new merchandise would be appreciated at any time.

  8. Yeah windstar2 another Texan! Maybe one day I will get to meet most of you in person.

    I hope so too.

Wind... bragging is unbecoming in a FCA personage... hee hee I wanna see your bigger tractors...

Ohhh, I wasn't bragging, honest. And I'd rather see ClayAiken's big tractor.

I think they have about 250 people coming to the party from different boards, so it should be a lot of fun (although this summer I looked in vain for Texwriter at the huge San Diego party so maybe we will need some way to recognize each other!)

I was one of the peeps you met looking for Texwriter. You were sitting at the table across of me at the San Diego preparty. And liney23 was sitting at the table directly behind me.

We happened to wind up in line by each other at the Tulsa busline!!! It was so great to meet you, Windstar!!

AAIT - I'm glad we met too. If I get out your way this Fall, we will have to get together.

On topic, would like to see Clay in a football jersey now. Those Leno pics are great by the way.

He lookd great in the jerseys, but I want to see him in some football pants!!!!

:cryingwlaughter: Honestly, I don't ever look at Clay's crotch except, for the waldo pictures and clack when it is pointed out. When I see him live I never leave his face.

This is me too except for the concert at The Greek where there were a couple of times I looked. Well, he was standing right in front of me and that stage was high so I had to look somewhere .... right?

Windstar...what do you do with 500 acres? Damn, that's a lot of land to take care of..I may have missed the story in the 50 pages of posts this morning, because I didn't feel good last night and went to bed early.

Hope you feel better today. You didn't miss anything about the land. In Texas, our place is rather small. We run cattle on our land. If you ever go to the Clayboard and check out my profile page there, I have some pics of our animals.

I have had to miss two of Clay's concerts due just to timing. JNT04 and JNT06. He didn't come anywhere close to TX for those shows and I just couldn't travel those times. I did get to go to JNT05 in Council Bluffs and Kansas City and if everything goes as planned, I should be able to go to the Wichita show this season. I hate missing a Clay tour.

Love all the talk and stories in here.

  9. Is there a special place in heaven for moms who sit on wet, metal bleachers in the rain at a high school football game for the sole purpose of seeing their dd dance for 2 minutes at half time? I hope so!

I certainly hope so too. I've already endured years of Little League baseball games, peewee football and dance recitals. Just now starting the school sports though so still have years to go.

Lilyshines - Nice place you have there. Very pretty acreage. We have about 500 acres ... so we have the bigger tractors.

Shades of some NC ticket sales of the past in Clay fandom.....is there something special about Little Rock, Arkansas? I mean, is it her home town or something? Weird.

No, she is from Tennessee and lives in CA now. I guess it just sold out so fast that they decided to let those in her state have the tickets. I just have to wait and see what happens.

  10. I know I just posted and now I'm posting again but I wanted to share what happened to me this morning.

As all this was going down ... I just kept thinking, "Thank goodness this isn't Clay Aiken we're talking about!"

I have a young daughter who is a huge Hannah Montana/Miley Cryus fan. I told DD I would take her and my niece/her cousin (same age as DD) to the Hannah/Miley concert in Little Rock, Arkansas this winter. I live in the northeast Texas area, so this venue is just as close to me as Ft Worth or OKC. I went in on the pre-sale and got my tickets. (Horrible seats in the "bring your own oxygen" area of the venue but that was all that was coming up.) The tickets were emailed to me and my credit card has been charged.

Regular sale began this morning so I thought I would check it out. I go to the page for that show and there is bold wording that says:

Alltel Arena is located in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Sales to this event will be restricted to residents of the state of Arkansas. Residency will be based on credit card billing address. Orders by residents outside of the state of Arkansas will be canceled without notice and refunds given.

    Also stated was this .....

Ticket limit is 4 tickets per household.

Please Note: There is a strict ticket limit policy in effect, more than one order per person or household will result in cancellation without notification.

I called ticket master and they couldn't say if I had tickets or not. Said it is up to the promoter to cancel them. Said they may let the pre-sale tickets stand since this wasn't stated before that sale ... or they may cancel them. She told me just to watch my order. WTH? Talk about your :Tour4:

I went a head and tried to pull up tickets when the public sale started at 10:00 just to see what I could pull up and I never even got a seat. Said there were no ticket available.

P.S. I'm really not trying to post ho to get beyond my "dog walker" status. I would gladly walk Clay's dog ... anytime.

  11. Happy Saturday FCA!

I can't keep up in here but I do love to read all the thoughts and opinions. My thoughts on Clay/or the fandom are pretty insignificant. I just want to enjoy the "public" side of Clay that he lets us see/know. Anything beyond that is just a bonus. Now I didn't come to this threshold overnight ... took a lot of check and balances during my 4 year fandom to come to this place. Its a good place for me. (Not to say I won't venture off and "ponder" ... I do that. But I try to not make Clay fit into my pondering anymore.)

There are a few fans that drive me absolutely crazy and I do not understand them at all. But I just shake my head at them now and move on. I adore Clay and I'm so happy to support him, his career and some of his interests.

I'm not a big chocolate lover. And if I do eat any, I like the milk chocolate. My "chocolate" is bread. Goodness gracious .... give me a piece of stick to the roof of your mouth white bread any day ... or even a hard European roll and I am sooooo happy. I buy 100% wheat bread for our everyday bread and I've stopped making rolls etc., for dinner ... but every now and then, I just have to buy a rectangle of white bread or sourdough. It is soooo good.

  12. I agree with the opinions about many fans thinking Clay is not cool enough. My analysis is that there is a LOT of fear of loss involved. If he doesn't do this, we'll lose him (and all that goes with him), if he doesn't look like that, we'll lose him, etc. When people don't trust, they try to control. And, the anomymity of the internet lets them be very vocal about it, unfortunately! I think one of the things Clay is here to do is to bring the message that being yourself is the coolest thing you can do.

I think you could be right on the above.

Some fans, however, seem to have trouble reconciling who he is with who they want him to be.

I agree. It's amazing how everything he does can simultaneously "fit" into dozens of different "personas" of him that fans have created.

Yes, he fits very nicely into all the places I have created for him to fit ... in my dreams. :Thud:

I like cheese grits only ... and even then it has to be brunch time on a perfect Fall day ... and with my hubby. Any other time, I'll pass.

And just no to brussel sprouts. Can't even stand the smell of them. But I love just about any other veggie ... mostly steamed ... except carrots, which I can only eat ... 1) raw with ranch dressing 2) cooked in butter 3) in a salad or prepared as Copper Pennies.

  13. Gah ... that picture with Clay resting his head on Q's back.

    I miss him.

    Safe travels Karen Eh. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

A dear friend sent me a DVD of the Tulsa concert. I put it in this morning and just hearing the beginnings of "HYCA" made me weepy. I sat in the balcony for this concert, which doesn't sound all that good but it turned out to be one of my most favorite seats evah. (And I had a front row table at San Diego and a front row pit seat at The Greek. Of course those were amazing seats as well. But I loved those balcony seats.)

I was about to say that his voice on "EIH" was amazing at this place, but there are so many "yell outs". Very distracting. Funny how I don't remember the yell outs during the songs at all when I think back on that concert. I must have been too busy listening and staring at that incredible man below me. :Thud:

  14. Hello FCA!

I am so glad that Clay got the blogging fever yesterday and blogged us twice! It was good for me.

I didn't realize how much stress I was holding in over the whole rumor until he blogged the second time and then it all released itself.

I was waiting on some kind of "official" word from Clay's camp before I decided if I would actually go or not. I like Rube and have always loved the way his voice and Clay's voice blend. I've actually wished they would sing together again, but I wasn't sure a tour was what I wanted. And then, just the speculation of it had me worried (on assumption) that something was tying up the new CD. :scream:

I was disappointed with ClayNation and the back and forth on the concert issue, from both sides. I really just don't understand why anyone tries to debate the issue. Its just a circle game. But I know that not everyone feels like that and must debate or feel heard or whatever ... so I just try and stay out, once I posted my opinion, of course. :eusa_whistle:

Nevertheless, after the blogging ... I'm feeling much better. But I guess I was worked up (it was him using that word ruminate as well as his stand up statement of "I will not." Hawt!) ... had to come here and look at all those perfect pecker pics from the last thread. *sigh*

I saw the thread title and was  I used those words with some purty pics in the last thread and then noticed that cha cha trusty put them in title form. Thank you cha cha trusty. :F_05BL17blowkiss: I just love it. Cuz after the voice, its all about the personality and the character ... um, right?

I think I had something else to say ... but I have forgotten and have to go walk the dog now.

  15. My first reaction to the Billboard blurb was "no way". I have Kim's first album mostly to have "WY" but I did like a couple of other songs, but I don't listen to it anymore. I've always liked the way Clay and Ruben's voices blend together. But a tour? I just don't know.

I don't have any control over Clay's career, his decision making nor do I know his "big picture" plan.

So, I'll wait and see what comes of this before I angst a whole lot over it.

It does make me wonder what is up with the new CD. I think if Clay was to capitalize off of exposure from AI Rewind/5 yr anniversary, I would rather he use that or not delay promoting it because a reunion tour is planned. But this is also just "what if/what's happening" speculating on my part. I probably wouldn't even put this in the mix except for what Clay said in a M&G about the new music possibly being ready by early '08.

  16. I haven't posted in the main thread yet but I read here everyday.

    Hello to everyone.

    RIP Pavarotti.

cindilu2 - I enjoyed reading about Pavarotti's life before singing and how they were much like Clay's.

Kimmel and scum bag - :imgtongue:

I've spent the last year taking back my fandom, much the way Clay took back his life. I was tired of the angst, hand ringing and worrying I was doing over a career/life that wasn't mine and I had no control over.

Well, I had an 'come to Jesus talk' with myself and I straightened up myself and my fandom. I support Clay because I want to support Clay. I admire and respect the man he is. I can't get enough of his voice, his personality and his character. I mean, goodness ...

look at the personality in that vein:

    192169869-L.jpg

and look at the character in that thigh!!!

    WPB1.jpg

    :RedGuy:

  17. NOOOOOOOOO!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Please, say it ain't so! Shades of The Greek fiasco. :(

Yeah ... The Greek was very shrewd.

Looking forward now .... I'm in the building for Wichita. Woo-hoo! Pretty painless format. No idea where my seats are so that takes away some edge.

Hope I can meet y'all going to this one.

    :xmas07a:

(Oh, and I guess I need to tell hubby I'm going. :eusa_whistle: )
