  1. I was in Omaha over 20 years ago and I did not have a car to go anywhere by myself, so I was limited to going out in the evenings with the others who were busy during the day and we were in Lincoln - and 8 hour round trip would have been a bit much to ask. Omaha was nice, but it was so empty, the college was so much a part of the city and it was summer. There were movies and restaurants and I guess some stores, but not a lot where we drove around. I did spend what time I could in the various gardens and eat in a good steak house, but no good corn on the menu.

I think you'd be surprised at how much it's grown. We don't have the mountains, like Denver, but the performing arts community is big and gaining momentum. The Orpheum theater is absolutely beautiful and their theater season is pretty impressive.

I would live in Omaha in a New York minute...but...I'd have to move! :RedGuy:

  2. Why do I feel like setting up an FCA map, where people can post the different places they live without leaving their names? I have been to Omaha and what I remember is that it is in the middle of a lot of open land. I was in Lincoln and it was a long drive from there and there was really nothing to do in the summer once you visit the gardens and I remember it was 104 one day and a very dry wind sucked all the moisture out of you. I also remember that I could not get good corn because all the corn was growing for cattle, I was quite disappointed after passing field after field of corn. It must be a long drive for some of you - so how far are you traveling to get there?

ETA - the above post is brought to you from a prejudiced beach bum (completely ignorant of the center of the country): no beach, no fun.

How long has it been since you were in Omaha? The city stretches as far as the eye can see now. It's even incorporated a couple of small towns, I believe...jamar would know more.

I live 4 hrs. from there but I live 4 hrs. from everywhere so that's nothing new. It's all interstate so no biggie...I'm just excited he's actually coming to Nebraska!!!

  3. Welcome lyndophin! We sat together in Cary this year and I fetched you one of those frozen strawberry-lemonade thingies. :RedGuy:

ETA: eeeeeeee, ldyjocelyn speaks my native tongue. YAY!

Where were you when I was so sweaty I couldn't pull my unders back up...I could have used a frozen strawberry-lemonade thingy about then!!! :cryingwlaughter:

  4. I'll admit that some of the things I see spewed from fans toward other fans makes me cringe. I wouldn't treat my dog the way some of these people treat other people.

The is he or isn't he conversation was one I never tried to even enter into because it mattered so little to me and still does. I believe him...that's all I'll say about that.

What I hated most about the crap on the blogs is that they continued to paint of picture of this sadistic, abusive, lying, conniving a**hole...that's what pissed me off but it also made me realize very quickly that they were all in it for the shock value and they have/had a TON of fun screwing with the fans...

    No thanks.

I think Clay gave the best advice. IGNORE.........In fact I think Clay fans should stop googling and stop going to the "hater's blogs." Stop engaging the likes of the scum bags such as PH and JP. Why give them the hits? They do love to screw with the fans. Why some fans want to keep obliging them is beyond my comprehension. They make matters worse for Clay by engaging the underbelly. As has been stated many times, nobody talks about this shit in the real world or is even aware of it.

Not sure if this is directed at me or not but, in case it is, I'm didn't get my information from the blogs, but I do know people who have made it their lives work to read each and every word and "report" it. I decided about 15 months ago to not read any of it but that doesn't make what I read disappear from my mind.

ETA: Ooooh...Star Trek the original is my favorite! It's on one of my local FOX stations on Sunday nights!!!

  6. Hello...I'm new...feelin' kind of shy but I'll just jump in.

My homeboard is Clayversity although I've kind of been in the lurker mode for awhile. Spent some time at other boards but just didn't feel like I fit. I'm a huge fan but don't/can't handle the drama that surrounds Clay at times. I've got too much drama in my real life, I guess.

Boardname there is the same as here...but most people call me JJ

I'm a Special Education teacher, this is my 26th year. Good lord! I'm old. I'm single, have 2 cats and a mortgage! I sing. I am involved in community theater when I have time.

I discovered Clay about 2 weeks into the AI 2 season and have been here since. Did not come to the boards until it was almost over and have been around them since then, too!

I enjoy watching College football...GO HUSKERS! I enjoy being with friends and I love my new pool.

Oh, and, I am completely enamored with Clay. :lilredani:
