  1. I'm so happy. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Couchie, have a wonderful time and bring back recaps !! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

I liked the Billy Bush interview and the Billboard interview. I am happy to get any tidbit from Clay about this album . I just love that man and his Voice. The snippets have made me very antsy to get the whole CD !!! It is going to be a thing of beauty !

re the google alerts this morning : I ignore all the BS !!!! I only click on the good stuff ! I am so amazed that our open-minded society's media spend so much time and energy in prying and mocking something like this.

eta- cindilu2, it is good to see you, I wanted to tell you I love your banners ! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

  2. I am so happy with OMWH's numbers on itunes this morning !!! #7 album !!!! :clap::clap:

As far as fans' overreaction to whatever is written about Clay ? I don't unerstand it. People will keep writing this sort of thing for hits as long as there is a reaction. TMZ ? .....pfffft.... I can't stand what they do whether it is to Clay or other celebrities. So I don't read and I don't watch. I think TMZ is what is wrong with the media today, the need for sensationalisn at all cost.

I am just happy that we are getting a new album with new music. Happy that Clay's run in Spamalot is such a success. Happy that there is going to be a tour this year sometime. I am so there. I love that man.

  3. here's a pic of the CD back:

    CDback.jpg

I'll try to make it a little bigger.

    CDback-lgr.jpg

it looks like the same jacket as the CD cover, doesn't it?

wow... I really like this picture !! :hubbahubba:

I listened to the snippets and was so happy to hear the tempo of the songs. A nice mix. His voice sounds so good. I can't wait to hear it all.... can't wait !! :fca:

I'll take the review. Not bad at all. :)

It is so hard to keep up with all that is happening !!!!! :lilredani:

  4. How long do people give them selves to like or dislike something on its own merit without worrying about other people. I really don't care about the NJU people. I have no idea what they'll like or not like. If I can like it so can the NJU people. There's how many millions in this country... he doesn't have to reach them all - just enough to make another album.

    :bravo:

    *pets new signature addition lovingly*

I just wanted to WORD what couchie wrote !!! Rock on !!!!

EW's point of view ?...... honestly, I don't care. :cryingwlaughter:

  5. Claygasm, I agree with your long and interesting post about the USA week-end interview. I read the article and then went to the boards and could not believe all this angst !!

playbiller, your assessment of the ATDW promotion is right on. I always thought that RCA knew that the crap is all people wanted to talk about. Therefore a low budget promotion. I also think and agree that the overreaction of some people vis a vis the tabloid crap is what kept it alive for so long ! I do think that the winds have changed and Spamalot has been just what the doctor ordered. I am anxious to see what kind of approach Clay and his team will take to promote the new material !!

All I know is that I can't wait to hear his voice sing new songs !

  6. Kill me now!

    143a1_filtered.jpg

These are screencaps from a video that's supposed to be at the CB. That dust you see is the trail of my slippers as I dashed on over there to find it.

He is soooooooooooooo niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice loooooooooookiiiiiiiiing !!!! :hubbahubba:

I pre-ordered this morning, I am so excited with the little snippets we got !!! Can't wait !!! :nanas::nanas::nanas:

  7. From Beagle3 at the CH:

A friend of mine inquired about the colored Playbill and you can now order it on line if you're not going to the show in March.

    Here's the info.....

    Bruce Stapleton

    Director of Merchandising

    Playbill, Inc.

While I will be getting color covered ones at the end of the month, I'm a bit bummed that they didn't have these ready to go in January when I originally ordered a couple. Le sigh.

thank you for posting this information. I ordered one. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

  8. I SEE you down there, KarenEh! (waves hysterically to KarenEh across the internet and earthly miles :F_05BL17blowkiss: ) How's it hangin' in Baku?

Speaking of hanging (and God knows I often do :hubbahubba: ), I enjoyed watching that Celebrate Me Home montage on that guy's blog...then I saw that in his webpage banner he's all smiles next to Pigface...gag me.

But DAYUM! Looking at those video clips from Christmas 2005, I wanted to feed Clay! He was sooooooo skinny! Turn sideways and he disappears! (well, except for that one part) He seems so different now, body-wise....so....

    solid and

    thick and

    hard....

    Don't you agree? :lilredani:

    I agree totally. :hubbahubba:

I watched the montage of "Celebrate me home" on that guy's site. It is marvellous, I tell you. wow, just wow !!!

I can't wait for some more news on the upcoming album....it is making me all giddy and stuff ....

eta- I just noticed I am not a "dog walker" anymore I am now guarding the body !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Entitled, needy fuckers. That's my explanation for the venom being shown towards Clay for not enabling doing the the stagedoor yesterday afternoon. For a fandom that so disdains the word 'we', I saw it being bandied about quite a bit yesterday. 'We' are being punished. We?????? Exactly how are you being punished sitting on your ass in where was it? Topeka?? hammering out complaints on your laptop? But I digress. It's very easy to sit in our cozy warm living rooms and armchair-quarterback every single move Clay makes or word he utters. As we sip our coffee (or smoke our crack it would sometimes seem) and type up and edit (and edit and edit) our oh-so-eloquent edicts on What Clay Should Have Done, Were He As Smart As I, we forget that Clay doesn't get an edit key. He doesn't get to go back and maybe take out that one word - or delete it altogether and let's pretend it never happened. The bottom line for me is - we were not there. We did not feel the embarrassment or anger and then have to decide RIGHT NOW how we're going to handle things (and do it knowing that the keyboards of thousands of 'fans' sit ready to vilify you either way). Walk a mile in his shoes.

JaMar, it's a really small theater. Row R is not that far back, really. I'd even do SRO. I've been dead center (Row K) and far right (Row L). Both were good. Just don't go too far left (the left side as you face the stage) or you'll miss the tower/swallow scene. I have row C tickets coming up and I think that's going to be too close. Fine for an extra show, but not for an only show IMO. It will be hard to get the full view. I always like a Mezzanine seat if it's near the front - a floating seat is always good.

Muskifest, I couldn't agree more. The stage door, just like an encore, is a gift, not an entitlement. I was at the show on Wednesday, and Clay didn't come out. I didn't feel at all disappointed, no matter the reason (still a bit sick). That's just the way it goes. We are so lucky and I revel in that.

The reflections yesterday were interesting to read, and I could relate to a lot of the comments. I thought about trying to put my experience into words, but I just couldn't find them. The only descriptors I could come up with are 'out of character' and 'puzzling,' but as JaMar said, it makes my brain hurt to try to figure it out, so I just don't. I just stay in it for the happy, joy joy of it all. And the unexpected. Well, and of course, the specialness that is Clay Aiken.

Clay does the best he can to please this fandom. It is never enough.

It is true that saying " you give them a hand, they want the arm " or something like that !!!! :cryingwlaughter: ( I am not sure the correct saying )

  10. Here is my wish for the new album:

    I want what he wants.

That's all I can ask for, really. I'm his fan, and I'm willing to go along with anything he throws at me.

BTW, this wish also goes for any future tour, any future album, and his entire career. You'll probably hear me say this about 20,000 more times in the next few years.

Yep, that's what I want too. This time, I want the music to reflect his choice and vision. I hope the reviews are at least objective. I want the world to cut him some slack and stop using him as a punchline. Respect, baby, this time I want him to get it. Just writing this is making me all shmoopie.

Hell, if it's an artist my child knows I like, he'll get it for me on Mother's Day (even if I already have it). And a Mother's Day bump in CDs sales of any kind make sense to me (as most younger people I know do downloads - legally or illegally); purchase of physical media does tend to show up in that generation gap.

May 6th? Looks like a perfectly reasonable date to me, since Clay (who is the one putting the CD out) threw it out there - at this point he has a better idea of what it takes to get an album out the door (barring unexpected surprises) than anyone else besides RCA itself. The Spamlot push has made much more of a national impact than I expected - hell, I don't discuss Clay with my office mates (mainly because in general I have no interest in talking to them anyway) and several of them have brought up Clay in Spamalot (especially the "dissing" of the show). Even though Lycos is one of the minor search engines now, that ranking didn't come from just a local media blitz (and New York local tends toward the national side anyway). If it changes, I still won't care either, because I see a CD dropping for my boy at some point in the future, and I have every faith that there will be a large number of songs I like on it, originals, covers, whatever. I don't really care. I like the way the boy sings just about anything. Except Open Arms. And that frickin' mouse song. And Here, There and Everywhere. I have every faith that a small but vocal minority will hate the CD or some aspect of it, but most people will be fine with it. I have every faith that eventually there will be a national tour (even with limited stops) and me 'n my peeps will be hitting a couple of shows. In the first five rows. I have every faith that a small but vocal minority will hate the tour or some aspect of it, but most people will be fine with it. I have every faith that eventually he will get over his blond phase, and go back to long chestnut locks. I have every faith that he will wear some totally fucked up outfit that will turn out to be either the bleeding edge of fashion or he hit a local Goodwill chapter again. I have every faith that a small but vocal minority will hate the hair or an outfit, but most people will be fine with it. I have every faith that he will say something to totally piss off a small but vocal segment of the fandom. I have every faith that the quiet majority will be perfectly fine. I have every faith that occasionally I will be a member of the small but vocal minority.

you are so right about the fans reactions.....I can see it now...

I hope you reconsider about H,T and E.. I love the way he sang that final night !!! Just lovely.

I can't wait to have my hands on new music and soak it all in with my good headphones and forget the world around me for that moment.

  11. cha cha, the Spamalot project is fantastic !!!! wow.... it is such a work made with love. thank you. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

I loved the interview on Broadway.com, everything about it. Clay is having fun, the CD is on track. I am a happy fan.

I can't wait to listen to new music, with new lyrics, new beat!!! I know I will be sitting with my favorite headphones soaking it all in. I don't understand the angst. I am here to support Clay and to enjoy him and all he offers. The joy of it, you know. Also to look at him, he is so gorgeous !

  12. I can pretty much relate Lucky...I've been checking other boards lately just to see if there are any clay breaking news...and I find that posts or posters that used to make my BP rise are just getting eye rolls from me...or even reading blogs of vile haters I just ignore them all. I think for me...what has made a difference is that Clay is doin so well right now. He is in a critically acclaimed broadway show and he is getting great feedback. He is working on an album that will be out this year...no need to worry about the guy....he is doing great. I do love posts about his antics with the other cast members..I think he is forming his own little family in NYC.

I feel the same way. I don't get upset like I used too. I don't worry about haters or loony fans. Clay is doing so well and his future seems so bright. I think he has found a balance between private and public life and it shows.

I love to read the recaps !!!!

  13. re : eye liner

I wear contacts and I have to take them out before to remove the eye liner when I wear some. So maybe Clay waits until he gets home to careful remove the eye liner. Anyway, he gets out very fast after the show for us and I am very happy he doesn't care if he still has make up on !

He looks gorgeous :hubbahubba: and happy, I am so thankful for all the recaps and pictures at the Stage Door ! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

off to watch the clip from WRAL....

  14. All this excessive fan policing and deciding who are good fans and who are bad fans and blasting them on the boards makes me want to puke.

Propounder made an excellent post at the CH. I agree with everything she wrote. I don't know how to bring it over here.

    My thoughts :

In the spur of a moment everyone will just react differently.

I wish people would stay away from all those blogs who blast Clay constantly but they don't.

I wish people would stop being so judgemental .

But in the end they are just people reacting in their own way.

So, like you, Wanda, I don't understand it, but that is the make up of this big and diverse fandom.

    -----

On to a happier topic. It seems that Clay is really enjoying him in Spamalot and I hope as many of us as possible will be able to see him. It seems he has found his "click" !!!

  15. ........., the article was poorly written, agenda laden, ...... misrepresented a lot ......... and was condescending .....

Talk about liberal use of ellipses ... I resemble that remark!! Seriously the edited version of your remarks above pretty clearly condenses my entire opinion of the mainstream media -- print or electronic.

I'm almost to the place with the "news" that if I don't read it in the foreign press, or a blog I trust, I don't believe a word. The American news establishment IS all tabloid all the time. "Monica" was the final confirmation of that ten years ago, and in the past decade it's worsened exponentially.

Does anyone think Clay is singled out for abuse? Well, it's just not true. Yellow journalism is rampant and ugly. We all probably believe something about a celebrity or public figure that is patently false yet settled in the mass consciousness.

The only way to counteract it is to let it go. Pay no attention. Give it no power.

    I agree 100%.

Everything in the media today is shady at best. Like you, I don't believe any of it . It doesn't matter what the topic is. I think everything is "marketed" in a specific way. Sad state of affairs. I highlighted the part I particularly agree with.

It was so nice to read accounts from last night ! I saw Farouche's pictures from the stage door. He looks happy, it warms my heart. What a brave man, he is !
