  1. I can't believe I'm the first one to comment but it's #2 for me today. I absolutely love him with that beard or stubble. It's just a complete turn-on for me. I love it because of what he was doing when it was taken, we get the profile, the eyelashes, that beautiful nose and the longer hair

And babies! Clay and babies is just plain sexy. There is probably something wrong with that statement, but there it is. Hand him a baby and I think about procreating.

    Lord, he's beautiful.

  2. Yesterday's was hard... today's is harder yet! Both gorgeous pictures... both great memories. However, that profile is just very hard to beat, even by the jeans of yum! :cryingwlaughter:

Yep. Difficult choice (a testament to the amazing photographers we have in this fandom) but I made it quickly. Even more elemental than the singer is the beautiful man.

  3. This voting thing just gets harder and harder!

I had to step away and return to the thread after I arrived at work because I just couldn't make up my mind. I finally decided to go with #1 because there is a little something extra in his eyes, along with a charming warmth in that sliver of a smile. I wonder if he was surprised at how quickly he bonded with Tyra? That was a very good day. #2 is phenomenal, but a little less personal.

Kinda scary how much thought I put into each day's decision.

  4. Kids or no kids, I cannot vote against #1. *g* I'm shallow that way. Love, love, love that entire set of pics from Beverly Hills. #2 is fantastic also. He looks gorgeous, he's with kids, doing the work he loves. What a smile! This will always be a favorite. But...

I'm shallow. There is a confidence and sense of success, a star factor that puts #1 over the top for me.

  5. ldyjocelyn I apologize for cursing at you just now. As I quickly scrolled down to reveal #1, I was thinking what an adorable early picture it was and how could I possibly resist that lovely vulnerable expression..... until I saw #2. He is freakin' adorable in #1 and I would vote for that pic if it were up against almost anything from the JBT, SRHP or CITH tours, but I can't resist the look of that Kimmel appearance. #2 for me. Sorry precious, adorable, beautiful #1.
  6. Fast vote for me. I'm kind of surprised how quickly I voted for #1. Love #2, great memories of the trummy and RS article excitement, but I love the way he has matured, as evidenced by $1, even more. The blond was really working for him in the California sunshine that day. Great set of shots. (despite the mandals! BWAH!) Gorgeous man, all confident and trendy without trying too hard.

  7. I love the blond, but there is something about the composition and color in photo #1 that makes it a work of art. Stunning photograph no matter who the subject is, but the fact that it's Clay puts it over the top for me.

ldyjocelyn, waking up to this photo contest every morning starts my day off with a smile. Thank you!

  8. I knew which way I was voting before I even made it to the second picture. Despite the anxiety issues, the covers mandate from Clive and all the other crap he had to deal with on a regular basis, he gave the ATDW promo his all and he was freakin' gorgeous while doing it. Wonderful look, beautiful man.

  9. Each day's competition has been so tough, I find myself voting emotionally. Whichever hits me hardest at first glance, that's what I go with. I love them both! But voted for number 2 today. I wish I had been there. Thank God for Clack and Clack Goddesses.

    Fun game!

  10. There was a possible reference to Jacob's leaving in a December '05 article in the News & Observer.

    Grace under pressure

What Aiken wants appears everywhere in the "Joyful Noise" show. It's more musical production, with actors and a plotline, than standard pop concert. Aiken came up with the idea and the story and wrote a script to tie the songs together. His core fans have responded to the show's blend of sweetness and sentiment.

He also makes the rules for the cast and crew. They're allowed to leave the tour on an off day, but they have to be back in town the night before the next show. He recently fired someone for failing to do so. He won't risk having someone stranded at an airport at the wrong time, letting down the rest of the company as well as the fans.

It was tough to let someone go, especially someone he cared about.

  11. Just wanted to pop out of lurkerdom to say hello and that I appreciate this thread. I've been reading and saving all the great links to helpfull websites. The summers are so warm in the So. Calif. valley where I live, I tend to not walk or exercise as much and I'm really feeling the results of that lately so you're all an inspiration. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

  12. Thank you all for being so welcoming. I haven't met you before Couch Tomato, but I did sit just across the aisle from you at the Pasadena Civic for the JNT04 and heard you mention your screen name to someone. :clay: I probably had a post count of 10 on the CH back then so it never occurred to me to introduce myself. That was such a great show.

  13. It took a bit of board traveling back in '03 to finally find a place that seemed to fit and I have been drmchaser614 on the CH as my home ever since. I remain registered at many of my old boards, but rarely post. To be honest, it's very easy to for me to fall back on my lurker ways, which is why I wanted to break the ice here at FCA quickly and say HELLO. I live in So. Cal., about forty miles east of Los Angeles. Divorced, with two kids in college, so I'm poor but happy most of the time. The year the ex left we had to sell the business, the house and the Cadillac, but I told the kids we were starting our lives over with a positive attitude and we've managed to keep that going through some interesting ups and downs.

Never watched AI1, went out of my way to avoid the hype in the press, but the commercials for AI2 hooked me so I'm happy to say I was there for the first "Take." Clay has fascinated me from day one and I've enjoyed the fandom for the most part, but I have yet to meet a true TC insider or music industry expert on any board, so the recent pontificating and backseat quarterbacking of the man's career (and life!) on many boards comes across as pointless and condescending to me. I look at all of Clay's choices and decisions as insight into who he is and what makes him tick. Beyond the voice that I fell in love with, this is what interests me. I see many familiar posters here at FCA. Haven't met too many folks because I only attend the California concerts (until the kids graduate - 1 more yr God willing!) but I did meet the wonderful PermaSwooned last summer. I usually attend with my best friend who I've known since high school. She's a non-internet fan who loves the voice/personality and is always happy to tag along.

I think that's it! This may turn out to be my longest post ever, but I did want to say hello and thanks for letting me in the joint. During this recent down time with Clay I found myself returning here again and again just because you all look like you're having so much fun.
