  1. Luckiest....ELVIS? Me!

One of my uncles gave me his Elvis record collection back in the early 60's. He still wants it back..... :whistling-1: I'm sorry to say that I clearly remember trading my GI Blues album for one by that new group....The Beatles? Eeeek. Love them as well, but now I wish I had my GI Blues.

Your question also sent me on a search. The year my youngest graduated high school in '98 there was a young man in choir with her.....very, very shy.....but said he did Elvis. He auditioned for the spring talent show with Viva Las Vegas....he was amazing! The night of the show he performed Heartbreak Hotel, and this shy quiet guy who roamed the halls, had the girls rushing the stage, screaming at his feet. It was just to dang cute.! So I googled him to see what he's been up to...turns out....he's still doing Elvis!!!!

    Leo Days

There are a couple of Youtubes there.... he's good!

  2. Okay.....anyone bored stiff? My son just had us watch an on line mini-movie starring Neil Patrick Harris...it was really kinda cool/funny/cute, in a warped kinda way. It's called Dr. Horribles Sing Along Blog. You can access it at

    DRHORRIBLE.com

But only until midnight (we are thinking west coast time). It is in 3 parts with the first two parts 10 mins each and the last part 15 mins. After that it will be pulled and only be available on DVD.

Not much info I know.....but it's all I've got right now.

Neil Patrick has a nice voice ya'll!

Oh...and it starts out kinda slow.

  3. Ahhhhhhhhh.....thank you. I am as RAS (Read Around Slut), I do it so my friends don't have to. If I find anything worth talking about, I take it back to them.

Tonight....while extremely entertaining at first......after awhile it was just plain scary out there!!!

Thanks to the pretty pics here.....I have gone from this......cakilroy.gif

    to this......melt2.gif

    I think I'll sleep just fine.... :F_05BL17blowkiss:

  4. Personally - and perhaps as a surprise to no one here - I see nothing wrong with saying something that could be seen as negative when it comes to Clay. I have used this analogy before, but with those in your real life who are so special to you, who you love and cherish and admire - do you never tell them something that bothers you about them? Do you not ever criticize them when you feel they have done something wrong? Do you never express your disagreement with something they say, or a choice they make? I would find it hard to believe anyone here would honestly say they never do any of those things in their real life.

Well, if we can do that with those we love in our real life - where our opinions may actually matter - why can't we not do that in our very unreal Clay world? I have never understood that. I have never understood why some refuse to utter a crtical word about Clay - unless they truly have no critical thoughts about him.

For me, the difference is, I would not criticize those who are special to me......in public. I choose to give the same courtesy to Clay. Even though I know he's not spouse, family or friend.

    Darn.

  5. Oh my....love the pictures!!

A little off topic....but I wanted to share the info I just received from my contact from the book drive...

    My post from the OFC:

Thought you might like to see the latest update that I just received from my contact at Kalamazoo Communities in Schools, the recipient of all the books collected in honor of Clay's birthday.

    Quote:

I wanted to let you know that the rest of the wonderful books donated

by Clay Aiken's fans in honor of his birthday last November are to be

    distributed this week.

Kalamazoo Public Schools has about 800 children in summer school,

working hard at being able to move to the next grade level in the

fall. The majority of these children are eligible for free or reduced

lunch and are of Afro-American or Hispanic descent.

    Tomorrow morning 112 Kindergartners, 201 1st graders and 167 2nd

graders will get to choose a book from the ones donated by all of you.

They will then pair up with a community volunteer (or in some cases,

with so many children, there may be small reading groups) for some one

on one time with an adult. Then the child gets to keep the book - and

every book has a book plate that says:

On November 30, 2007 fans donated over 1,220 books and $690 to

promote literacy in Kalamazoo in honor of the birthday of pop singer

    Clay Aiken.

In this spirit, Kalamazoo Communities In Schools and the members of

Clay Nation wish to present this book to:

    _____________________________________________

    On Friday, over 100 3rd graders, 100 4th graders, 88 5th graders and

30 6th graders will participate in the program.

Thanks to the many generous Barnes and Noble gift cards donated, I was

able to purchase over 60 Hispanic books so we could offer books to

some of the children in their native language. Although the original

bill came to $560, Barnes and Noble wanted to support the generosity

of all of you and gave us some excellent discounts so I paid only

$430. The clerk even paid some of the bill from her own pocket:-)

Again, thanks from all of us at Kalamazoo Communities In Schools, and

the children in KPS, for supporting literacy and the Kalamazoo

    Promise.

It has been my pleasure to work with you!

Bolding mine, just to make it stand out a bit more.

I love seeing what a group can do...with very little effort!

Thanks again for all the help I received here!

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

  6. Good Lord! Are you people not aware that Clay Aiken has temporarily fallen off the face of the earth and there really isn't that much to say? Nothing that should take up 6 pages while I was off celebrating eldest daughters b-day!

    *unwads panties and proceeds*

So...song of the day....Where I Draw the Line.

I lah-ove.....'I melt every time we kiss'.....

I melt every time I hear him sing it.

    *sigh*

I don't ever recall hearing a guy say they melt ..... it's been years......but I sooooooo remember that feeling!

  7. Hee-hee. Okay, just for shits and grins. A home work assignment! :whistling-1:

Over the next three or four days (say Tues-Fri) everyone ask the people you see on a daily basis. Co-workers, family, friends.

Ask them to name a song or two by....

    Carrie, Kelly, Daughtry and Clay.

Then ask if they've heard any gossip about the same person and what it was.

If we are lucky....Clay will come out of hiding and we won't have to deal with whatever the results may be!

Otherwise....report back here, Friday evening/Saturday day and we can discuss! :wordpooper:

I can't catch up, too tired to read all these long posts, but I appreciate the hell out of the discussion and the purdy pictures!!

But rohdy - you do realize that Friday is the 4th of July, don't you?? I would love to accept your assignment but I am going to be out of town until Sunday evening! Can we hold it over until Monday afternoon? :F_05BL17blowkiss:

BTW - I can name one song by each except Daughtry. Don't know and don't care!!

    ALSO - CONGRATS TO ISEEME!!

Ahhhhh....it's all part of the plan, ya know. I didn't really want to do that .... I just thought it would be funny if we did.

I was prepared to do it.....if necessary. LOL

    Enjoy your weekend Cha-cha!

    And yes! Congrats to ISEEME!

Just...WOW to all the gorgeous quilts!

    Mornin' Annabear....and Lilyshine.....and Luckiest1....and Claytonic!

ETA: Whoa! Just watched Smokin' Joe....the kid is amazing! I loved it! Thanks for the link Claytonic!

  9. If this makes me a "Negative Nelly"... so be it.

Oh my, I hope you don't think I felt that people who thought otherwise are Negative Nelly's. It's just what I call myself on day's I'm not so Positive! I was just saying I was not going to be negative today.

Check back for 'my attitude' report tomorrow's morning.... :whistling-1:

WINY....love Clay's singing. Do. Not. Like. The. Music. It's sooooo canned cheesy. It sounds all synthesized and stuff.

Yeah....that's about as technical as I get.

  10. Welcome to all the new FCA'ers!!

Have been on a road trip with some Clay-pals, so I have a ton of reading to do to catch up....but I did catch the request for funny videos.

    Here is one of mine...

. For me the best part starts at the 2:40 mark.

Now off to read....while the rest the boards are pretty much stagnant....this one is hopping!! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

  11. I'm very glad he didn't have serious vocal training..... Point in fact - Josh Groban. Gorgeous, huge voice. No heart. All planned out and studied. I don't have the right musical words to describe it but it's pure vanilla to me......and lo-cal vanilla.

This is the problem I have with Groban as well. All the uniqueness was trained out of him.....wonder what he would have sounded like if left on his own?

What amazingly educational posts this the last 24 hours! Thanks to all who share their musical knowledge....as I have none. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

  12. (But one of my all-time favorites was the Cherie duet...mostly because it was so cool of Clay to do that in her home town/state (whichever) and because her voice honestly could hang with his!

Okay.....am I going crazy....oh wait I'm at the FCA...no one would recognize the symptoms....remembering wrong?

I was always under the impression that Clay sang the duet with Cherie because it was the release day for her CD and that she was actually from France.

Did I just make that up?

  13. PEANUT BUTTER PIE

    8 oz cream cheese....softened

    2 c conf. sugar

    cream together until fluffy....add

    1 c milk

2/3 c peanut butter (crunchy or creamy...your choice)

    beat until smooth.....then fold in

    16 oz Cool Whip, thawed

Poor into 2 9" or 3-8" graham cracker crusts. Freeze

We just top ours with drizzled hot fudge and chopped peanuts.

Well..at the risk of being annoying...here is one we really like on hot summer days....

    ORANGE PIE

    2 8 ounce cream cheese-softened

    2 c conf sugar

    1 sm orange jello

    1 can mandarin oranges-drained

    1 T orange peel

    1/4 c orange juice

    1/2 t lemon juice

1 8 ounce container of Cool Whip (can use more)

Combine dry ingredients, add juices. Blend into cream cheese.

Fold in oranges and cool whip.

Pour into 2 graham cracker crusts. Freeze

In both recipes I have used the light version of cream cheese and cool whip and whatever else I can find.

  14. I do have peanut butter pie w/hot fudge sauce.

    Uh, excuse me...

If you're going to throw this out there, you gotta leave a recipe too.... yuuuuuuummmmmmmy!! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Whadaya mean it's not all about the food?! :cryingwlaughter:

Oooops..I should have known that! LOL
