  1. I just want to say that I enjoy all different opinions and relish the freedom on this board. Thanks for sharing yours Ivy. It is my choice to agree or disagree. I have no problem with what has been shared in reports even the ones I roll my eyes at. "We" are made up of all kinds of people doing all kinds of snooping that I find icky. Some people love to invade Clay's private life and bring every tidbit they find to their board. Now that is wrong and I have seen it with my own eyes. This particular situation was somewhere between private and public since it involved work where others were present. It wasn't negative at all, IMO. If Clay did not struggle to learn this part I would have been amazed since anyone would have to work hard, ie struggle, to learn this part, especially if dancing were not one's forte. I'm just thrilled Clay has done it. There is nothing wrong with hard work and a little struggling.

I have a view of Clay's career that comes from my own world view. I see AI as a door that opened and was meant to open for Clay. I believe that people who make it to stardom are following their destiny and this was Clay's path. I don't believe he was ever going to maintain it without hard lessons because that is not who he is. From my perspective, Clay is a man who has always had to work hard for his accomplishments and when he does the work, he succeeds. I'm not sure I know anyone, great or common, who does not have to learn the hard lessons of life but Clay has a strong character, a deep faith in his God and a strong foundation with his friends and family coupled with outstanding talent, charisma and light so I would expect he would attract the darkness. That is, IMO, how it works on a cosmic level.

It's the darkness that I hope would be overcome/overwhelmed by the bright light that is Clay.

  2. Hello FCA ,

    Butting in

But as far as the report of Clay struggling? That's nothing to me. Of COURSE he was struggling, for crying out loud! :cryingwlaughter: He's made it a point of telling anybody who'd listen that he was struggling! All that dancing and singing and acting---all at the same time???!?!?!?!? :cryingwlaughter: But the man's a pro. And the proof's in the pudding. He's doing everything right, per reports, and I never really doubted he would.

In regards to self-described reports of Clay struggling, there is the often used political strategy of "lowering expectations". Often used because it works and it makes the final result seem even more remarkable than it already is. Maybe Clay isn't self-deprecating as much as a "lowering expectations" practitioner? Interesting spin, anyway!

I didn't mind the report. I try to take any first, second, or third hand reports with a grain of salt. I think it is quite the compliment to Clay if this rehearsal watcher thought he was struggling and then amazed at the actual performance.

Jazzgirl, that is how I took it too. he is always doing this. And the result is almost always brilliant. He spins and lowers expcetations and I am glad he does this instead of saying " I nailed it period". :whistling-1:

  3. Hello FCA!

    QUOTE(dancermom2 @ Jan 19 2008, 08:41 AM) *

Simon used to say...you belong on Broadway like it was some diss to Clay. I used to respond that diss by saying that those that make it to Broadway are only the best of the best. Last night on the stage of the Shubert theater Clay Aiken proved those words to me.

    I wonder ...

    1) If AI#7 will mention Spamalot

    2) If Simon will attend a performance... I mean, he's English and the English just love Monty Python. I imagine he's already seen it, but will he go back and see Clay especially since he went on and on about Clay being perfect for Broadway. I guess the question is... does he care?

    ?

To me the question would be " Do I care what Simon thinks or does?' Not much I suppose. If he is seen going to the theater to see Clay, I wouldn't know what to feel.

  4. LOL..already seeing google alerts with clay storming out of an interview. Controversy King lives. I hope everybody who talks about it actually links to the article. And popdirt of all blogs, had his quote from the airplane incident. I loved that one as well. If I recall correctly he had a little jab at the meda on that one as well.

Hi FCA, been lurking but I have to say the little jab he made. he said ' now that i have your attention, UNICEF needs your help." or something to that effect. A British entertainment news described it as "Clay Aiken cheekily ended by saying 'Now that I have your attention..........' ". It was funny.

  5. Scarlett - :F_05BL17blowkiss: See you in Kalamazoo! Maybe we should figure out a pre or post concert meeting spot for FCAers?

    Yes, please! :lilredani:

    me too!?! :PickMe-1:

    :partytime2:

Wow, there's so many of us!!! How about an after-party? Please post suggestions, your hotel locations and preferences in the tour thread - Kalamazoo...

(Who's got that LynninNJ "Party-All-Night" picture from Sterling Heights? We need to <insert> that here!!!)

    :04: MichiganDCATParty.jpg:Pogo0:

me too. I am coming late to this but add me too. Kalamazoo is my only concert.

  6. This makes me miss my Filipino friends in Bathurst...we almost always end every get together with either Karaoke or Mahjong.

Well I was pretty happy with our supper last night...a very healthy supper of panfried Tilapia, stirred fired vegetables with shrimp, sauted spinach and Basil tomato rice, Uncle Ben's natural select...I highly recommend it. Very easy to make and very flavorful.

I'll give natural select a try. Sounds good. I have a traditional Thanksgiving feast. Although to tell the truth, I'd rather eat out but I love left overs. So I cook , a lot so I can have left overs. :cryingwlaughter:

Anyway, I miss mahjong too. Pilipinos here in Vegas play big time. I can't afford their games. I like to play for fun not for money, so I miss mahjong.

  7. I love me some Clay Aiken today. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

    Hello everyone.

I think I'll give Bottlecaps' delicious recipe a try. Sound easy enough that even I can cook it :cryingwlaughter:

    Happy Birthday, Cotton. :lilredani: :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Clay is a Co-winner? Hmmm I believe he won AI2. They are doing a rewind to show once and for all who the real winner is. I am waiting breathlessly to the very end. :lmaosmiley-1:

ETA: Okay I am done editing.

Oh no I spelt Clay's name wrong.

  8. Ok, I rarely mention this to anyone, but Clay Aiken had his hands on my butt. Yeah, see, doesn't that make you gasp? :believeitornot: The reality of it was we were in close quarters for our M&G and he needed to get around in back of me and my big fat ass was invading his space, so he just sort of skooched around me by sort of moving my butt over.

I've never known if I should be all :nanadance2::Thud::yess: because it happened, or all :chair:  because my ass was so big.

    :cryingwlaughter::cryingwlaughter:

You lucky gal. I hope you kept that outfit you wore. that will have clay's DNA and fingerprint. you own part of him. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

I can't get over it. he positioned you :hubbahubba:

  9. Couchie, your niece is so cute. She looks happy enough in her costume. Reminds me of my daughter when she was a little indian girl in the Peter Pan School play. I had to improvised her braids since her hair was not long enough to braid. Heh.

Honey crisp apples, they are yummuy. I love crispy and sweet apples. These suckers are expensive. I paid a dollar for each of them. But I enjoyed every last bite. Better than the apples I bought cheap but ended up rotting in my fridge. They are "just not good" TM ClayAiken.

  10. Awwww, Zena , any place is a fun place. It all depends entirely up to you how to enjoy the place.

Everyone , come on down. This is my home city. However, I will be working that day and won't be able to help with the party other than attend it.

I belong to the Las Vegas Team for Inclusion of the TBAF. This is the same group that is putting up the preparty party. We will be doing fund raising as well so if anyone has anything to donate for the raflle , it will be appreciated.

  11. OMG, received a letter from BofA saying some of my credit card information may have been compromised at a third party location and my credit card number may have been part of this occurrence. I don't put my VISA out there a lot so sure would like to know what third party location they are talking about. I do know they sell information to others so that may be the location.

Have any of you had this happen? What happened as a result?

VISA will cancel the card and send a new one with a different account number.

But still......I'm stressed over this one. :scream:

Sounds like a scam to me. That letter may not be from Bank of America. Does this bank use BofA as their letter head?

Happy Birthday, ldyjocelyn!!!!!!!!!! No fancy emoticons but this is as sincere as they get. Enjoy your day. :04: :fest09: :balloons: :04: :laola0: :partytime:

  12. I will be at the Kalamazoo concert. this is the only one i will be attending. DH does not want to travel during the winter.

I am trying to see if I can go to another one without the DH. I want to make it fit my work schedule. I can't miss anymore days at work.

  13. I've been lusting over the Houston thigh action ever since the night I witnessed it from the front row. Truly unforgettable. I agree with muski that he demonstrated what he can do in the first few shows and then made a campy stage routine out of it. But before that, he most certainly was moving more erotically from the waist down. His "party all night" from Tulsa was dynamite, before the exaggerated swinging arm action. However, I think Clay did exactly what he wanted to do with the over the top stuff. He wanted it to be funny and he made it funny.

There was nothing funny about what he was doing with his thighs in the famous rivet jeans in Houston. It was just screaming hot.

Wow, I never thought of it that way. He surely did not make those move at the CA 4 fer I saw. My, my, my that Houston move was pretty hot. :hubbahubba:

Although the exaggerated moves at the succeeding concerts were very funny, I would have loved to have seen him just that way.
