  1. Favorite clips? - I have not loaded any out - lazy bum I don't know if they are top, they are just ones I watch a lot.

I always liked that Clip on GMA where Clay was surprised when he got the double platinum award, probably the one clip where he was truly surprised, but before that he looked a bit worried, since it was just after the 20/20 interview aired and they said they had someone to see him. I always feel taht he was afraid it was..... Anyway, Clive Davis came out , a wave of relief went over his face, and then Clive Dacis hugged him and fans were thrilled - they thought that was a great honor - now - well, good thing it does not happen now because people have no fear of being rude.

There is the Tyra clip - I have never seen Clay enjoy a non-Kimmel interview so much. There are layers, I am not sure I have figured it all out yet. He just was happy from the first moment we saw him.

Then there are all the UNICEF videos and slide shows that show Clay as the intelligent, informed person he is. It is hard to pick a favorite fromt here, maybe Afghanistan. I love when he walks out wearing the outfit.

B.C... I'd never heard of Kimmel and I'd never seen Tyra's Show. They both brought out a side to Clay that was a surprise to me. I knew he had a great sense of humour but to see him get up to some of those gags on Kimmel.... well, that was really something! I also loved the way Tyra just ADORED him. I have watched that Tyra interview many times.

  2. I want to comment on the AI3 Solitaire clack. I WAS there for that one. A dear friend that I didn't know too well at the time contacted me out of the blue and asked me if I wanted to go to AI to see him that night on her extra ticket. She had requested tickets during AI2 and never got them, but then she got an email offering tickets for the final 12 results show, and by then we knew Clay would be there. O.M.G, did I want to go??? Was she serious????

My choice is easy.... I watched the AI2 series in 2008 (thanks to KAndre) not 2003, and my first glimpse of Clay was Solitaire on AI3, 2004. This was my moment, and despite some other incredible Clack in existence, nothing can possibly surpass the moment I sat up and pledged allegiance to ClayNation, without even knowing the extent to which it existed.

  3. Mainstream medicine saved my life and I would NEVER refuse to take prescribed medication IF it were absolutely necessary. However, I feel that we've been hoodwinked by the powers that be for too long about other essential methods of health management.

For example, I am surprised that there are still many expectant mothers who are not aware of the importance of folic acid.

Here's an interesting video, about 30 minutes long... if you are interested in why we are never realllly told about the extreme benefits of certain nutritional supplements.

Although I'd never deprive myself of yummy junk food treats (life is way too short) , I try my best to ensure my main consumption of food is nutritious and organic as much as possible because I find supplements tiresome, although I do my best to take them as well because of the HI factor that we cannot escape from.

Dark chocolate is considered an essential nutritional supplement.... :purplebanana:

  4. Mainly, because he says he can't dance, and honestly? Most of the time he's absolutely right. I see him as having some rhythmical moves occasionally. And honestly, on the Santa thing? That's not particularly good dancing - that's not embarassing yourself. With a LOT of hard work and training, he was an extremely competent dancer in some very choreographed routines in Spamalot in that first show and apparently has improved by leaps and bounds - I love the man but he is not a natural dancer. I think Clay has some basic moves memorized and he can shag fairly well (that has been seen in concert), but especially watching many of the group performances in AI (they had the boy in the back for a reason), his lack of improvision. And oddly enough, a lot of people who can sing have no dancing talent at all. Two completely different talents, and impressive when they overlap - there was a reason that for years the majority of pop singers stood at a mike and sang or sat on a stool and sang. The ones that are really talented at both? Elvis. James Brown. Michael Jackson. Prince. Maybe Tina Turner. I can't really think of too many other artists - Justin Timberlake/Usher/Britney I find to be much stronger dancers than singers, maybe Beyonce.

Keep in mind I tend to have as high a standard for a "dancer" as I do for a vocalist - and to me, in many ways dancing is harder, with a much shorter career span. Ask Paula.

Well I agree he is certainly not in the same class as Michael Jackson and James Brown, but few are. I wasn't comparing him to them, I was comparing him to the all the others who can't dance any better than he can, and no one made a big deal about branding them as a crappy dancer. They moved to music as adequately as Clay did.

I thought they had Clay and Ruben at the back because they were both over 6'! Carmen could not dance either, and actually I don't think any of them from AI2 could dance very well, except maybe Charles and Corey. But no one made a big deal of any of them except for Clay. That was my point.

Pawler is an awesome dancer, but I will never understand how she managed to sell 30 million records as a SINGER!!

  5. I don't understand why Clay has had this 'reputation' for not being able to dance.

This video (Christmas 1999, I believe) shows him moving to music very well indeed. And I also don't understand the big deal made of his 'bad' dancing when he did Grease on Idol. His hip movements then were just fine to me, and I am not at all surprised he is doing so well with his dancing on Spamalot, anyone who is so musically talented as he is WOULD have some ability with rhythm. And he has lot of ability.

    I don't get it.

  6. Keepingfaith, thanks for posting those sizzling-babe shots of Clay! I loved the way he looked in the LKL interview, even though his hair wasn't dark enough, but at least it wasn't blond!! I like the hair style then.

I just went looking for this YT vid of Clay singing Mandy - to show someone ...... he looks very emotional and in fact someone comments that he looks as if he is crying at one point. Anyone else agree? Whatever the case, over and over again I prefer his version to the original of so many well-known hits.

There's another pic taken at the same time as this one ... that's my favorite.

Hey, I thought I saw a special thread for good sites to share. Am I dreaming? Cos I can't find it now!

I was recently given this site, for a clock with several time zones to sit on your Desktop. Not only that, you can add notes and set the alarm to remind you it's time to go to bed.... haha!

Those of you who have friends and rellies who live in different time zones will love it.

If you haven't read Creature from Jekyll Island, you can listen to the MP3 at the site above, presented by the author himself, G. Edward Griffin, a very talented speaker.

I first listened to it about 5 or 6 years ago. I just went looking for it again to email to a friend, as I've been discussing it with him. So thought I might as well post it here too.

It is approx one hour long. It is informative and gripping to the point of being entertaining!

Oh, it's about the Federal Reserve, and it is definitely worth one hour of your time.

I love audio books. When I had a bout of illness that rendered me too weak to even keep my eyes open to watch TV yet I couldn't sleep, audio books were the answer. I'd recommend them highly for anyone who is in hospital, they passively transport you into another world. Who needs visitors?

  9. I've currently got a broken down dryer as an accessory in my son's room in the basement. It is holding all his clean socks, LOL. I wonder if either putting it to the curb or putting it on Freecycle would work? I have to get rid of it soon!

Luckiest, I've moved my Freecycle post to a dedicated thread so that this one isn't cluttered with non-Clay talk (although Couch was okay about it being here)

    New thread for FREECYCLE

  10. I've currently got a broken down dryer as an accessory in my son's room in the basement. It is holding all his clean socks, LOL. I wonder if either putting it to the curb or putting it on Freecycle would work? I have to get rid of it soon!

Luckiest, you'd be amazed what some people WANT, there are some incredibly creative/artistic people who re-create something out of stuff that someone else would normally want to be rid of.

I've noticed that some people advertise a Freecycle 'open day', i.e. they advertise the date that is one day AFTER their yard sale, so that anything that remains unsold can be taken away by anyone who calls by.

Although its primary aim is to reduce landfill, Freecycle has helped a lot of people who need an essential item (beds, furniture, TVs, kids' stuff etc) but just don't have the funds for it. Many people have large items in working order that they don't need and don't have the time or desire to be bothered with selling it. Freecycle is a win/win solution.

  11. One day in her home town area, Clauy pulled Vanessa on stgage to sing God Bless the USA - the big finale. She did not want to get on stage, but it was probably agreed on before hand. i.e. K'andre, did you give her the tour video show as well? as for the real tour video - it was the training ofthe clackgoddesses - Jerome climbing over people taking video cards for his used video card business (snark).

YES, she DID - she's made sure I have pretty much everything, I think she was sick of me cluttering this forum with such OLD questions ......

Why Josh Gracin was not on the tour. First thetour was announced and Josh was announced to be going. Josh's fan boards were attwitter, someone talked to Josh and he had permission to go on the tour, he was excited and looking forward to the tour. Then 19E announced that Josh was denied a leave to tour with AI. So even though the military said that Josh was a positive symbol of the military when many people were not happy with the new war, they decided that Josh was not allowed to go on a sould out tour across the us. Interestingly enough, he had been speaking out on more than one show, although we have only one show on file (lots of shows are lost) showing that Josh thought that Ruben would win and Clay would not be allowed to win.

Yes, I saw that on YouTube and it certainly did not take long for his words to become fact.

Also funny how grim-faced Simon always seemed when watching Clay, although I know there was lots of editing done. Watching again, Simon seems a bit cold about Clay. I hate to project and say Simon was pissy because he had lost a bit of control, but that is what it seems like.

Funny you should say that.... you know, it has crossed my mind a number of times that if Simon had NOT said (after Clay performed BOTW) that it could win him the competition, Clay might well have won. What Simon said would have - undoubtedly - put Ruben's supporters in a panic mode, and they would have voted far more strenuously as a result. Simon had wanted Ruben to win from the start, that's now obvious to me, having watched the series in full and seeing the judges' comments to ALL the finalists, not just Clay. I want to repeat that I don't mind Ruben winning, but I really feel the judges should not comment on the Final performances because their comments definitely influence the voters. The ONLY reason Jasmine Trias was able to edge out LaToya London in AI#3 was because Simon was so critical of her performance that it caused her to cry, and that caused Hawaii and every person in the USA with some affiliation to Hawaii and/or the Phillipines to vote her into a safe position, putting Fantasia and LaToya into the bottom 2.

  12. What to do with garage junk?

I haul it down to the road and put a big sign on it that says "FREE"

It's amazing what people will pick up - garden hoses that tangled with a lawn mower, old vacuum cleaners, pitchers without handles, ends of bureaus that somehow were separated from the rest. Almost anything.

    Recycling at its finest.

Don't ask why I had all that junk in the first place.

    Excellent!

What's even better is Freecycle! It is a world-wide organization using Yahoo Groups; there is a Freecycle group near you.... all you do is subscribe to your local Freecycle group and you will see email posts with subject headings telling you what is on offer, and the location. If you want the item, you contact that person and if it is still available, you go to pick it up.

The rule is that it has to be free, you not allowed to pay for anything so cannot offer to in the hope to 'win' the item. It's NOT ebay!!

The aim of this group is to reduce land-fill. As a long-time environmentalist, I consider this a wonderful way to recycle and slow down landfill. You can even advertise a "WANTED" item if there is something you need but have limited funds. Some people use Freecycle as a convenience, i.e. they just want someone to save them the trouble of getting rid of stuff that is cluttering up their home.

I've not personally used Freecycle yet but I will be shortly advertising my old CRT monitor which is in perfect working order and someone may need it. Freecycle is a great way to pass on computer gear you don't need anymore. Computer desks, in particular, seem to be offered rather frequently. But so are that kids' clothes, shoes, toys.

If you want more information about Freecycle, please don't hesitate to PM me as I want to promote this wonderful community service that helps preserve the environment.

  13. Watching the REWIND series with Clay doing the commentary, he looks really tired. His eyes look tired, as if he hasn't had any sleep or something. Is it just me?

I wish he'd worn his glasses, I love his rimless eye-glasses. I'd be happy for him to toss his contacts.

  14. well I actually kinda belive Corey's story.... but to try to make money off it or to revive his career was kinda sleezy.

Well, I agree, there was too much smoke to not implicate some kind of fire goin' on .... but I can't get over Pawler's stupidity if most of what Corey said was true.
