  1. Tribeca, although NC is conservative in voting, I haven't found anymore anti-gay or racist people here than I did when living in NJ. Many of my friends are very religious but accept the gay members of their families and/or co-workers as equals. So I'm not sure that Clay saw things any differently than if he had lived in NY. I have lived in NC since before Clay was born and in a smaller town. Being a liberal was probably the worst thing I could have been and was.

When I worked in NYC, in a large CPA firm, I witnessed the ignoring and laughing behind his back of a young gay male co-worker. We shared a love of opera and since I was the only female on the staff I knew what it was like to be left out of a lot of things. When we got our first black staff member, he and I were assigned to the same jobs since we were both different and they didn't want to lose any clients. There are a lot of different prejudices and the one that directly affected me was that women were not equal to men.

Just ignore my reminiscing, I'm getting older. :BlowKiss:

sorry I mispoke about NC I guess I was assume things I shouldn't. I live in CT which is considered liberal and I don't find it that liberal at all.

I just thought it would be an interesting book. I don't think it will ever really be written but if it was I would read it.

Does Clay need any backup dancers?

  2. I heard an interesting discussion on BBC World News this morning forecasting popular music trends in 2009. Apparently it's all about reviving the music of the 60's British female soul singers a la Cilla and Dusty, the 70's Glam-Dram of Elton, Freddie and friends, and 80's techno-pop. The commentator says there is no looking forward to breaking new ground in pop because "it's all been done better than it's being done now." So, we should be hearing lots of covers -- reworked classics and the resurrection of overlooked songs that shoulda/coulda been classics.

In the band -- I've got drums!

That's pretty sad. You would think that there would be more creative people in music. I am tired of hearing the same songs over & over & over again on the radio. Now I am going to hear the same songs on the oldie stations and the new stations?

I use to really love all types of music (except rap even though I tried to like it) but I really like to hear new stuff more than repeating the same old stuff over again.

  3. maybe he is practing his golfing?

    diapering

it would be real cool if he wrote another book about growing up gay in a religion & conversative state that didn't (doesn't?) accept it. There is a lot to tell there.

    Tour

his guest appearance on AI since they are bringing back the wild card in season 8 (Clay & Jen Hudson are the most famous wild cards & Kim C. may make an appearance since she is on Idol Chat thingy).

Are the Climmel still together? If not who gets the horse?

    Broadway in a singing role

a guest spot on a prime time show

a guest spot on Sesame Street

  4. I use to read those blogs a lot but for some reason when ever I go to Bravos site something usually my computer gets stuck on their page.

I just thought Daniel's food looked gross. I always wonder what the food really tastes like. Especially since when there are certain challenges it seems the guests and judges opinions differ so much.

  5. That's why I didn't get it!! I thought it said BM not BW (note to self read more carefully)

that would be a pretty cool song to hear. Wonder who would say the poem part ?

I never watched the show House but there are a bunch of YouTube montages using Clay's broken wing.

My niece & nephew are disappointed but I think they saw it coming. Hopefully they won't have anymore ice storms or they might end by going to school until July.

  6. I think this all belongs in the reality TV thread - but - what is reality, when they edit so much??????

I think the right two people got canned last night. And regarding editing - before they "amazingly" cut to commercial before announcing who would pack up their knives, new British Anthony-Bourdain-wannabe judge said he thought Daniel was the most creative and had the most promise (um, no, no, wrong!) and he trashed the other two, so it looked like Carla was leaving. Bummer. Then yay! because I was tired of Melissa's whining and Daniel's obtuse bragging, and anyway, I like Carla.

that new judge tries to hard to be funny. If it takes that much effort it usually isn't funny. Thought Carla was going home and I was bummed to (she is funny). Daniel's food looked really gross to me. Maybe I am just not a foodie. Melissa I barely remember so that can't be a good thing. Radika (?) I have never ever tried Indian food but her food looks pretty good to me. I love Fabio he is too cute.

  7. I knew what LNM was but not BM

Really I can only probably afford to go to one concert & that is only if it is close to me. So if Clay does a summer tour & a Christmas tour both with an orchestra I guess I would choose the Christmas one.

My niece & nephew official lost their April vacation this week. Too many snow days :( so they won't be able to come to visit that week like we planned.

I never ever get tired of hearing Invisible. That's my niece's all time favorite Clay song. Mine is I survived You.

  8. I love how confident "we" are about a tour. But I know I'm not the only one who heard him say at the Gala in October that they are working on a tour. I guess I'd better start saving some money.

I know a lot of people want him touring with his own band but I thought they did amazingly well with local symphonies during th SRHP summer tour. What do you think about a band? They only had three musicians at the Gala and that worked pretty well too. What would be more cost efficient? I assumed the symphonies were paid by the venue as a house "band".

I believe I heard them say that the band is more expensive. I would love to have Clay tour with a band. Only seen videos. Seems there is so much more you can do musically with a band than an orchestra. The audience seems more lively too (with the band).

  9. Clay has changed his looks like a billion times. Sometimes I like it sometimes I don't. Know it's not my hair or my clothes.

Doesn't mean I think he should be less gay (what ever that means). People that are gay or gay. Some wear make up. Some don't. Not all gay people are the same.

    ETA

I was more responding to this

Will it make him less gay if he never lets anyone see him with makeup?

  10. well I am glad I didn't miss anything than I thought it was a new special. Tiffany won? She came in second in season 1. Her food always looked good. She was the villian in her season.

Right now on TC I think their is too many people

I like when it is a little less people it is easier to keep track of people than. 2 people will probably go home tonight since no one came home last week.

  11. Whew!! I worked a looooong day yesterday, and am just catching up. Ya'll were wordy!

Smitten, I'll But seriously, tribeca, please let your niece know that I'm sorry that it was disturbing to her, if she still wants to talk about it. I didn't mean for it to upset someone like her. Or you! :friends:

    [.

    :09:

thanks like I said I am done talking about. I just stated my opinion. I never asked anyone to change theirs or agree with me.

    re-Clay and the make-up

honestly IMO - just think it is too much and it becomes distracting especially around the eyes. He has such beautiful eyes & when he wears that much eye stuff it takes away from it.

    ETA

David Cook was sporting some real heavy guy liner on idol tour. I thought he looked like a racoon.
