  1. So basically we are only willing to dump Clay if he turns out to be a war criminal or sociopath?

I can see y'all saying, "But he had a really good reason for stealing borrowing the Hope Diamond! It needed to be cleaned or something. And it's not identity theft - hell, we gave him our licenses and credit cards and birth certificates and marriage certificates. He told us he needed them for radio play!"

Nah Kandre - not even the Hope would bother me cause I would just picture how incredibly HAWT he would have looked in the tux while shimmying along the floor under those laser beams . . .

  2. blowtorch puppy -

The reason I don't see anything making me turn away is that I admire Clay for so much more than his singing. I admire him as a person. I think he's a very very decent person - aside from heinously breaking the law, which unless he takes wandacleo up on her suggestion :F_05BL17blowkiss: , isn't going to happen - he's not going to be able to change a thing that would cause me to not have continued respect for him as a person/man. That transcends changing hair styles and music styles - those things just don't matter as much to me compared to what he contributes as a person and what he stands for. Just cannot imagine it happening.

    waves to no1tvfan63! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

  3. OMG wanda, frozen custard is my favorite thing in the world! I love the smell of it, and to me it's nothing like ice cream. It's so thick and smooth and rich. Sometimes when I really want to treat myself I go get a frozen custard at Sheridan's. But then again, I don't know what creme brulee is, so maybe I don't know what I'm missing. :)

And yes, y'all are making me very, very hungry. I must, must stay away from all the bad for you clog your arteries stuff like custard and chocolate. Think I'll go have a smoke, instead. :cryingwlaughter:

Yes to frozen custard - YUMMMEEEEE!

    and

BWAH! BW, you are seriously CMSU today!

    and

Yay! Just bought a bunch of BAF CD holders for the Wichita pre-party!

I'm trying to help ya Couchie! This is all I can find - the ticket office doesn't open until 10am central time so would think maybe that's when they go on sale too? Crazy! I've never seen a venue that doesn't post an on-sale time!

    Good Luck!!! :F_05BL17blowkiss: :Tour4:

  6. My dream is that he takes Tyra to his high school reuinion. :RedGuy:

Didn't it happen already? Cuz it seemed months ago that someone actually posted the date on a message board shocking the hell out of me.

High school and college reunions usually happen in spring or early summer.

Actually, my 30th high school reunion was a week ago - yeah, we were always the class that was a dollar late and one short. :)

I remember when Clay was on Kimmel talking about LTS - after talking about how he was picked on, Kimmel said Clay should 'show them' by flying his own helicopter to his high school reunion - and he was gonna name names - said their addresses were in his book too - remember? Hilarious bit! Clay was pissy and all kinds of hot that day . . . :Thud:

Sharing the Jell-o love here tonight! It is one of the four main food groups - Bill Cosby told me so :)

  7. Personally ...jerk is too mild a term for him. I guess that may be the difference...i don;t have a very strong reaction to the word.

ITA about some reacting differently to the word, Ansa - I absolutely understand and can appreciate that after I read your explanation. I have a very strong negative reaction to the word, which is why it bothered me when I saw it used in regard to Clay.

Thanks for the beauties Stargazer! Love the dark filters that so many of our clack gatherers used this tour!

Yay for finding out my Wichita concert seats tomorrow and Omaha today - what ticket stress?! :XmasRed: (love this little guy cindilu2!)

  8. It goes both ways folks. And I personally think it was rude of Clay not to return her calls for 2 months (that of course may be an exaggeration....). What - he didn't have a few moments to call her back???

Clay can really be a jerk sometimes. I love him but he can be a jerk.

He is a man after all....

That would be a common courtesy, if the two were still friends. We don't know that something may have transpired in the last four years or four months or four days that broke that line of communication down and gave him good cause for not calling back. We also don't know if Kim was personally calling Clay for two months, or if her people were trying to call his people for two months. We also don't know that she didn't call him 200 times in those 2 months - yikes! I wouldn't call her back either and I'd change my number quick. Get a clue please!

Either way, in no way is Clay a jerk here. The fact that he didn't call her tells me all I need to know, because as a rule, imho, he would be more courteous. When push comes to shove, I will give Clay the benefit of the doubt. Besides, we really don't know enough about how things really happened to lay fault anywhere, imho

and I guess while I'm postulatin', I have to disagree that all men are jerks CG - cause they're not

  9. Bwah Divayenta! a classic!

The Omaha tics were through another board's group sale, so were available today. Those with symphony memberships could buy theirs Monday - I understand the symphony sold a lot of new memberships during this past week :) The public sale is tomorrow but I'm unable to find a on-sale time anywhere! Sorry I can't help more jumpingjacks but I'll keep looking! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

  10. I DO know that I love lime jello with cottage cheese as long as it has pineapple in it AND I love this picture.

    004.jpg

Yay! Wandacleo posted a pic! and a bee-yoo-tiful one at that! Thank you for the fedora memories!

I too LOVE lime jello with cottage cheese and pineapple!! I haven't had time to read the back pages today, but whatever brought this discussion up sounds yummy!

Good grief - Kim (or someone representing her) actually deleted Clay as one of her friends on her myspace page? Does anyone want to look through all of Clay's nearly 30,000 friends to see if she's still one of his? :cryingwlaughter: Nah, didn't think so.

and a BIG WOOHOO!! for Meesa snagging she and I regular front row seats on the aisle for Omaha today! They're behind the 3 rows of pit seats, but according to the venue the stage is raised and those in the pits will be looking up - so these might be a better vantage. Don't care because it's going to be the closest I've been to Clay in a long time - it'll be heaven!

  11. Now back to your regular ordinary :Tour4:

I was just going to mention this! Rumor *gasp* has it there's an OFC presale for Omaha's Christmas show on Thursday the 13th but there's nothing on the OFC!!! arghhhhh!

They had a symphony member sale on Monday and tics go on sale to public on Friday. Has anyone heard or read any more about this? :fca: :Tour4:

  12. Anybody wanna get schmoopie for a minute?? Berkeley posted this in the "Better to Give" thread at CH:

    The Express-Times

NAZARETH | A 6-year-old boy used the last days of his summer vacation over the Labor Day weekend to raise money and buy copies of the book "Our Friend Mikayla."

Dante Requena, a first-grader at Shafer Elementary, hosted a yard sale and lemonade stand for two days and collected enough cash to buy 36 copies of the book written by Mikayla Resh's third-grade classmates at Lower Nazareth Elementary.

The book chronicles the friendship between the authors and Mikayla and shows her classmates have much in common with her even though she is disabled. The students drew the book's pictures and wrote the story.

    The book was published in 2006 by "American Idol" runner-up Clay Aiken's Bubel/Aiken Foundation. . . .

Schmoopie indeed and a wonderful read for me - good for a badly-needed shift in perspective :) Thanks for the bring jmh123!

  13. Not to slow the subject down for awhile, but oh what the hell, I'm gonna try! :)

Since I ordered Clay's crooner CD from CD Universe, I've been getting promo emails from them. I laughed out loud when I saw one of the new holiday CDs.

Anyone remember that really popular compilation from the 80's, "Monster Ballads"? I flove that CD - great stuff! Well, there's now a Monster Ballads Christmas CD - it's hitting on Sept 11th - order your copy now! bwah! For some reason, this really CMSU tonight! http://tinyurl.com/3ckxqh

Here's a pretty to get that picture out of everyone's head :) G'night all!

  14. I can understand the sentiment if you do not like Ruben and Kim's singing...but I say don't be too hasty. I will not turn down anything Clay cos he always brings in great value for your money. Then the great chemistry between the three...will be great to see...

Never saw the chemistry between the three myself. I definitely did between Clay and Ruben and I would love to see these two together - flove! The 2003 hype was Clay and Ruben - I don't remember the end of the year articles, TV 'top of the year' shows and other specials mentioned much about anyone else.

But no need for me to polish my Clay sword and badge of honor *g* - I'm chilling. I know better than to get all cranked about something that may or may not even happen - life in ClayLand in 4 years has taught me that. I have to agree with Play too, that it seems the way this was put out there doesn't quite make sense. If it were to happen, it seems the planned P/R would be big to capitalize on the 5 year mark.

Will I go if it happens and it's nearby? Well, hell yes - this is Clay people! What do you think? I'll never pass up a chance to see him! We can't choose our neighbors and we can't choose who Clay tours with - as much as we'd like to :)

No angst from me - I've ranted, now I'm done. Just going to sit tight and see what happens - with Clay and with ClayNation - just too much fun to ignore :giantpopcorn:

  15. I think this is what she is talking about:

    http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k93/purr62/Reunited.jpg

    NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO!!!!!

there - that was subtle :)

I figured there would be some coat-tail riding attempts somewhere but I just can't imagine TC thinking this is a good thing. I'm going to take some really, really, really deep breaths and hope this is dreck tthat will just.go.away.

Ansa - my reaction is based solely on the fact that I'm not a big KL fan and I see this, keeping in mind that I've dwelled on it for all of about 5 minutes *g, as a coat-tail thing - a "how can using Clay help my career", which probably isn't fair, but it's my gut reaction. I'm probably being a selfish Clay fan here - but he's the huge star - not them - bring them along on YOUR tour Clay, if you want. But equal billing - no.freakin.way.

    Of course, JMHO :F_05BL17blowkiss:

  16. I watched the Clack and listened to the Cellcerts before seeing the California Concerts...and I loved every minute of every Concert. [especially Pala and Indio] I think a lot of us who live in the West, don't see him as often as those of you that live in Clayland....so perhaps appreciate him more when we do see him.

Please add to the list those of us who live in the mid-midwest (and I know there are others in many other parts of the country with even less Clay-exposure than us!). As one who usually can't afford to fly to concerts, when he comes within driving distance (<6 hrs), which he has all of 7, count'em, 7 times (AI2-SRHPT), I try to get there. I did bite the wad and fly to the two Atlantic City JBT's (BEST!), which my wallet hated, but I loved dearly. Of the 7 close-by concerts, I've made all 7. So yes, I definitely appreciate him more when I do get to see him. Also should add that I feel really lucky that two of his holiday concerts this year will bring my local number to 9!

All this talk about Clay and his exposure . . . my contributions to our sweet, and bothered, and sweaty dreams tonight . . .
