  1. Waves to Gibby...just cos! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

*Waves back to merrieee* - :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Thanks to everyone for the advice on getting even for my 6am fiasco yesterday -- I slept in today (yay!), will have a long lunch and will leave at 4. Hah! :)

    Have a great day y'all!

    :nature-smiley-014:

That's the way to do it, Scarlett! Sleeping in is WONDERFUL.

Lotus, looks like you got the multiple quote thingy down! *applauds*

I've been listening to OMWH and ATDW nearly non-stop since last week. So I decided to start listening to Clay's Christmas music, instead, for a change. Oh, that voice! It slays me. It's so gorgeous, smooth, strong, passionate, controlled and lovely! Sigh.

He's purdy nice to look at, too!

  2. Spam reports:

    clayngels recap from last night:

First I want to thank everyone for all the compliements on my picture. I literally don't even remember asking him for it. The Aiken fog completely took over!

I'm pretty much recapping last night's show, but there may be some details from Tuesday that slip in here to so bear with me!!

I had a front row seat last night which is always amazing because you get to see all of those facial expressions up close and hear all of the little side comments he makes.

I still get butterflies the moment before Clay sticks his head out of that tower in his first scene. It's so funny that when we first heard he would be in Spamalot everyone was concerned about the English accent. Now it seems like the most natural thing to hear him speak that way. I love it!

During the Not Dead Yet song when Clay first starts singing and he hits the triangle he kind of hugged it when he says that he's scared he may run away and then when he hit it, it kind of made a weird clang sound. He kept poking Tom and looking confused as to why he was alive and then when he started dancing Clay was laughing at him and trying to mimic some of the moves.

He's so adorable during Knights of the Round table. He flirts with all of the girls and acts so excited when they pay attention to him. He did do the "come to daddy!" line again last night. Whenever the LOTL does her ad lib and adds the pop song into it Clay makes a comment. The other night she sang a part of Funkytown and he said "What's Funkytown?" When the monk spins the nun on the floor Clay always picks up his legs on to the table and looks amazed. He's gotten REALLY good at the dance at the end too! He looks like he's having so much fun and he does every step perfectly.

After that scene when god comes to see them Clay screamed "Oh good god sire! What's that?!" and he yelled it so loud! He plays the scene about the quail so funny this time around.

He's still waving the peace sign during find your grail and during the slo mo scene he acts like he's scared and crying. We still get some pretty great knee bends though!

Act 2 was fantastic last night!

The knights of Ni did the "I can see Russia from my house! What country can you see?" line again last night and then when they were leaving said "Let's go put some lip stick on that pig that I found." The audience of mostly NJUs were cracking up.

YWSOB was just amazing. There are literally no words to describe how well he does this number. He has really gotten into it and all of his dance moves and facial expressions are funny and perfect.

Prince Herbert's scene was one of the best I have ever seen. Clay may not braid the ribbons anymore, which I miss, but I am slowly learning to love the new way he plays it. And I love how he has the costume pushed behind his ears so that they stick out! So cute!!

After Lancelot kills the guards and Herbert's father comes in was when it got really funny. He went to go up the stairs and his daggar fell out of its sheath. He did the "Excuse me!" line and then went down the stairs to get it. In the blank space Tom said "What?" Later in the scene he said "Don't be afraid of him and his daggar brave Sir Lancelot!" and when the father cut the rope and he was falling he yelled "Nooooo! the daaaaggaaaar!!!" The whole audience was laughing hysterically and those of us who knew what was going on were practically in tears it was so funny! When Herbert's father went to kill him again the daggar fell again! Rick said "Oh! There goes that daggar again!" Brad's fill in tried to kick it off stage and Rick said "Careful! You're going to trip on that on the way out!" I could not stop laughing through the whole next scene!

Brother Maynard was perfect as usual with Clay playing up all the pauses and he said "amen" a little differently. It was kind of high pitched and the rest of the knights tried to mimic it.

The peasant was a guy and he was a really good sport. He did not expect it at all! He held that statue like he was so proud of his accomplishment and Clay was copying him and giving him thumbs up! When he went back to his seat Lancelot was blowing kisses and Clay was trying to get him to stop and acting embarassed.

Clay has so much energy in the finale and he looks like he is having so much fun. The little choreographed number on the side with David and Wally was like the Midnight Train to Georgia dance from the JBT. So cute and funny!

No one really stood during the curtain call except a few Clay fans, but everyone got a good amount of applause.

The SD was just amazing. He is so sweet and funny. Like I said I don't remember much about when he was near me, but I have a picture to prove I was there!!

At the end of the line there was a guy with a playbill to sign that wasn't Spamalot and Clay said "I'm not in this!" and he turned and showed it to everyone. He played like he wouldn't sign it and then turned it over and signed the back cover.

Have I mentioned how much I love him??? Well you can never say it too many times....I love Clay Aiken!!!

    Intermission report from Clayngel:

The extremely vast majority of the center orchestra is full. Considering the economy and the fact that SO many Broadway shows are closing, this is really good news. Lots and lots of NJU who are enjoying the show. Not a loud group, but they're definitely laughing and applauding. Bradley Dean was out last night, but he's back tonight.

She said that Clay got mad in the guard scene and was practically yelling at the king. Clay's line "Listen,in order to maintain an air-speed velocity, a swallow's gotta beat its wings..." was especially animated tonight with this new anger. LOL.

The "Maaaybeee!", which is the line instead of "I've got a brother who's a guard" was drawn out tonight, and when Tom got up and started dancing Clay was waving to him.

From jax at the OFC..she said it could travel

Knights Of The Round Table was so good tonight. The waitress with the drinks kissed him on the cheek and there was a lot of tongue action.

-He did the shimmy and "Come to daddy" thing while the girls were dancing and he kicked his leg at them. Then he rubbed his thigh like it hurt.

He caught the LOTL armor and said "She threw it to me!" He was flirting with the girls during Find Your Grail and waved the peace sign. He rocked out at the end and did the body roll.

She ended her update by saying Clay is amazing..as if we didn't know! LOL

  3. Seriously, Gibby, thanks for bringing those pics over. They are bee-yootiful! He looks very, very happy.

Can I admit to a teensy, tiny (OK a whole hell of a lot) bit of jealousy for those able to go now? By the time we get there in January he'll be sick of the SD again, and there'll be a zillion more fans there too. I've NEVER had a M&G or a picture or ANYthing! :cry4: I'm Soooooooo jealous!!

I'm so glad you enjoyed them! Unfortunately, merrieeee now thinks I'm her enemy, when I merely posted purdy pics of Clay at your suggestion. I mean, really, how can that be so much of a sin on a Clay board??? But I guess she's into revenge, so I'm kinda skeeered. :confused-smiley-014: *sniff* Doncha feel sorry for me???

    I've never had a M&G or a picture, either. Someday we'll get lucky, I'm sure! :thbighug-1:

I was at a rehearsal tonight, so didn't see the debate. Sounds like I didn't miss much!

Parker is soooo cute! I would love to see pics every month for awhile, cuz they grow and change so fast at this age. I'm sure that won't happen, but I'd sure love it if it did!

  4. Welcome, Georgiesmybaby!!

    :welcome22:

Oooooh, Scarlett, I would be majorly pissed. I'm not a morning person, and to have that happen would bring serious ire on the offenders. Can you take a nap at some point today?

I'm annoyed but not really disappointed with people because honestly, the whole Clay Nation reaction ("I'm insane because of Clay's latest announcement") is for me, just the latest variation of "I'm insane because Clay was rubbing his naughty bits on a black girl he wasn't married to in public" (trying to get all the objections in there - including the not PC ones - and there were a number of those) or "I'm insane because Clay punished us for groping him/not groping him/not giving me a chance to grope him/my friend was upset for not groping him" or "I'm insane because Clay sang a gospel song/took us to church/tried to forcibly convert me/made chunky girls wear white/pandered to the religious people" or "I'm insane because Clay doesn't hate Fran/Faye/Ray/Jaymes/KLo/whoever I'm hatin' on this week" or "I'm insane because RCA implanted this transmitter in my head and it plays nothing but polka music" or "I'm insane because Clay's singing slow songs/sexy songs but not seriously/covers/the wrong song off the CD/not on my tv for a month"....I was flabbergasted with the fandom for the first couple of "I'm insane because..." because the first few months misled me about the fandom. I thought they were just like me - liked Clay for what he was - enjoyed the journey he was making - knew I was a little (ok, maybe a lot over the top) but just because it was fun. Man, was I wrong! So now I pick and choose where I hang out.

Heeeee, KAndre, this cracks me up. It's soooo very true of all of the dramas that seem to go on and on and on and on in the Claynation. Unfortunately, this latest drama seems to be the worst.

I had a fantastic time last evening meeting jmh! She's in Colorado on business, so we met in her hotel to dish about Clay. It's sooooo very fun to meet fans in person after only 'knowing' them on the internet, and then talking for hours as though you've known each other forever! jmh is a lovely, engaging and intelligent conversationalist, and we had a great time. She's busy and in meetings all day today, so may not be able to get online, and asked me to say hello to everybody!

    *HELLO FROM JMH!!* :lilredani:

  5. wanda, how about posting A Letter to Louise in-line instead of as a link?

    *give merrieeee a virtual backrub*

Because it's about 10 pages long!!!

    Do you think I SHOULD??

Why not? If we have to slog through those pages and pages of quoted stuff...

I tried. It's 100,000 characters too long. LOL.

Well, you could post it in sections. It's quite a good article. I quoted your post about it over there.

  6. cindi and lucky - I've been listening to Ashes A LOT lately. I think it really speaks to Clay's current situation, and would make an excellent single now! I LOVE the song, and think that it might go over well now, as it reflects what Clay has been through recently.

AAAAHHHHHH, the JBT leather jacket is being auctioned off! I WANTS IT, THE PRECIOUSSSSS!!! But I'm sure it will go for way more than I can afford. Sniffffff.

I see the Wango Tango shirt is being auctioned, too, and an AI shirt as well. So much good stuff! I'm already jellus of you people who are going to the Gala.

Heeeee - the 'Clay Aiken bust' from Jimmy is being auctioned, too. That's funny!!

  7. OMG I spent last night and this morning trying to explain why (unlike you) have no empathy for the he lied about lying and he lied stuff..and you sum it up for me perfectly. Hope you dont' mind but will be sharing your words with others. Thanks Jenna!

ETA: Damn does OMWH the song and the album take on new meaning. This is the first time I"ve listened since we knew and I have to say..it's a totally different experience. A good one!

I HIGHLY (not dancing nanner highly either!) recommend listening to OMWH (song and album) again - it really is incredible. In every way.

    Yeah, that!!!!!

I've been saying that every since last Tuesday! I've been listening exclusively to OMWH (the album) and finding new gems in almost every song. And I sooooo wish we would get a new single! So many of the songs would be relevant to Clay's revelation, and may be more popular now because they would be perceived as more authentic.

The news of this past week reminded me of being seven years old and getting glasses for the first time. I was struck by how clear everything suddenly looked to me, including OMWH and some puzzling events over the past five years.

Yup, I'm having the same experience. That's what I was saying when I posted about listening to Clay's music, from AI to now, and feeling like a curtain had been pulled away. Not only do I understand Clay better, but his music means more. Somehow I feel the same joy I felt when I first 'met' Clay, and it's bowling me over again!

I'm at the Syracuse airport--flight delayed. Free internet. Wheeee!!!

Then I'll send you another PM - I'm really hoping we can get together and dish about our sexy and handsome (and at times fashion-challenged) guy!

Okay.......it was FREAKING GREAT!!!!! Sorry for the excitement...lolol!!! He was so animated tonight!!!! He seemed a bit giggly as the guard in the tower. During the "Not Dead Yet" song, when the dead people come alive, he jumped back and said, "Oh sh*t!!" Then during the Camelot dance, when one of the girls came near him, he said, "shake it for me!!". Then, when the LOTL came out to do her thing during that song wearing the suit of armor, he said, "Oh sh*t" again and then said something about how shiny it was. After that scene, when the thunder claps, he yelled out, "Oh God!!!" Towards the end of YWSOB, when Tom tossed him the cane/baton, he dropped it, but shimmied while trying to grab it. YES, YES, YES, everyone....HE SANG AMEN as Brother Maynard!!!!! In the last scene, when he comes out and says, "And I too have found my grail!!!" his top hat was flattened by both his hands. But, as he started to say, "musical theater", he let it pop up and then he put it on his head. He did a little dance with Bedevere and Patsy at the end and was swinging his hips around. Grrrrrrrr.....he still makes my ovaries quiver...hahahaha!!!! Then, as you all know, it was raining but he came out to do sd anyway. When he got up to me, I was at the end, he said something about my Playbill being soaked. So, he took it and started going through it for a dry place to sign. As he did that, I said, "Well, you know what would be better...." So, he said, yeah, I know...." Then, I said, "I'm beginning to think I'm everything you don't need". After I said that, he laughed. As he handed it back to me, he said he signed it on the bio and then said come here. He held his arms out and pulled me right in for that hug!!!!! I didn't think it was possible, I love that man even more!!! I have video, it's uploading on megaupload right now. It says it has 1 hour and 10 minutes left. Sorry for the wait, and I also appologize for the video during and after the hug because my camera went pretty much everywhere...hahahaha!!! After I post the link, please feel free to upload however and wherever you please. You all know I have no clue about this stuff...lolol!!!

I just got back from my trip to todays matinee (I take trains and it takes a long time) and I was just trying to read through and see what other recaps/stage door items you've already gotten but wow, you guys, there are 27 pages just today!!! I can't get through it all, I'm tired. So here are my 2 pm Sun Matinee recap notes and sorry if I repeat what you've heard:

--I ran into amazed in nj before the show and although I had an obstructed view seat bought at the last minute, she had 2nd row center seats but her DH didn't come, so she let me sit with her! Wow, fab seats! You could see Clay's green eyes so well I'm sure I missed 90% of the rest of what was on stage...

-- Clay did get his loud hello when he appeared in the window... not as loud as opening wkd but loud compared to other visits in his last round

-- Tom Deckman was back, Clay poked him once with his rod for his triangle -- trying to see if he was really alive -- thought that was new, but maybe I was just closer...

-- He was such a ham in the all-for-one, just beaming (my fav part) and got a cheer for the idol line

-- In the Camalot scene when he carried the dice over, one of the ladies ran her scarf along his neck (never saw that before)

-- he was talking or mouthing things to the girls during the Camalot scene - the only thing I heard clearly was "you better watch out"

-- he did sort of a shoulder undulating body move, got screams, when he was to the left in Camalot scene, if you hadn't been looking that way I'll bet you would wonder what was going on.

-- His soiled his pants/Robin's song theme was great and had a great response

-- He had head fully down and was quaking when God was explaining about the grail (quail?). He and the king were really milking the quail/vessel/boat part (in a good way); they took their time. After the cymbal joke, Robin said quietly something like "that isn't what he meant... or was it?" with large facial expressions like Robin was pondering...

-- He was being extra scaredy-cat when they ran away from the french

-- in one of the parts when Clay "dismounts", he brought his leg way way up then down (he sure is getting limber)

-- His own big song was just fabulous and probably had the biggest audience response. He stopped to get the response prior to piano and in the turn at piano (yes, there was some screaming, mmm, might have been me  His big notes were so big! Especially noticed a great response to his putting on the hat and starting the dance (btw, yes lots of tongue).

--Knights of Ni joke was that he could see Russia from his house -- got major laugh and response from the audience (umm, I'm clueless since didn't see all of debate last night I suspect...)

-- Like last week, his guard this time was duuuumb, rather than the ribbon-braiding space cadet of last run, he had both ears out!!

--Brother Maynard so well paced, big pause before "2" got laughs.

--finale scene he got a big response when he came out and said he found his grail (can I mention how good he looks in that white tux?)

--got a number of us on our feet (2nd row and back, don't know what was going on in front) for standing o when he came out at end, not as big as last weekend, but fine. He did give a big smile at one point.

Overall, I think we did show him the love. I wasn't disappointed at all. Orchestra seemed full except for obstructed view seats at ends.

At stage door, Clay came out without much warning and the ladies at the start didn't have their playbills out yet so he said he'd come back to them at the end, then he did the whole line mighty fast and came back to them, they were not ready and he said "you were supposed to get ready...you had twenty minutes!!" (jokingly). He was going fast. I told him he should be himself, we love him and he said "well thank you so much" (or something, my brain does tend to short circuit within 1 meter of him), I think he was just trying to go fast so if he actually heard anything I'm not sure. No hugging or great big smiles, just a medium smile and an efficient yet calm, take-playbill-scribble-hand-back, take-playbill-scribble-hand-back, take-playbill-scribble-hand-back rhythym. I'm terrible at estimating numbers, maybe 50 people? It wasn't that hard to make it to the first or second row of people, but I'm sure Clay saw a wall of faces in front of him even if the alley was not filled.

And, although last week my new camera came home a *virgin*, this week she got clack! I got two good pics and a vid of the SD (after the point of signing mine). Unfortunately, I don't have the software & cord to download with me now (darn!!) and will have to go get it tomorrow so I can get that to you. It is my first vid, so I may need some faculty help....

  9. Oh, yeah, CG, I'm still drooling over Clay! His revelation isn't gonna stop me one bit! :hubbahubba: :hubbahubba: :hubbahubba:

I ventured over to the OFC, and for the moment things are actually pretty nice in the big People thread. I added a nice post, and will keep going over there once in awhile to post something positive. It won't keep the trolls from spewing their vitriol, but I want to make a least a little contribution to making the thread more positive.

I had a thought about some of those who are so concerned about Clay lying. Are they people who posted "unconditional" in the Circle the Wagons thread? If they did, they lied.

Heeee, you're right. Now we need to confront them about it and see if they lie about lying. :schwirr:

  10. BWAH!! Those toilet stories are hilarious. Especially yours, Wanda!! :cryingwlaughter:

EEEEEEEE, I sure did enjoy those stage door videos! Clay looks so happy, and it's great to see him interacting with fans in such a lighthearted way.

I just had a long lunch with a local Clay fan. It's so good to talk in person with somebody about all of this stuff! She's going to Spamalot in a couple of weeks, and I'm jellllllusss!!!

So I just got off the phone with JessMcVargas who was at the show tonight. GREAT show she said, lots and lots of energy. There were like two rows of barricades...LOTS of men at the stage door tonight. Clay took pics with some people who asked in the middle barricade and came back to sign stuff for people who he had missed. Jess told him how proud of him she was and she let out a "AND I WANNA GIVE YOU A HUG SO BAD", not really expecting anything. He at first said he couldn't, but turned around and gave her one anyway...and a kiss on the cheek. NOT KIDDING! EEEEEEEEEEEEK! He was so happy tonight! Can't wait for pics and stuff.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! YAY!!!!! So glad that Clay was comfortable enough to go out and soak up some love. Cuz there sure is a lot of that out there for him!

Heeeee about the men. I can just imagine sitting by guys at concerts and simultaneously letting out moans about our sexy guy. BWAH!!!

  12. So it's been a good day and a bad day. I put on my IT green tshirt - which I can still fit (that's good) and tooled all over town. It felt different somehow so puffed out my sizeable chest (and other parts) and walked taller and prouder too. Yes I AM a Clay Aiken fan!

Then I came home and somebody was straddling the line in my parking spot washing his car and I tried not to hit his mercedes and ended up fricking up my right view mirror. Crap. How much does one of those cost!

I bet you looked darned cute in that IT green tshirt! So sorry about your mirror.

    Nutcases.

They've taken every little thing Clay has said and done and twisted it into something MORE they can rant about.

It's totally sick. It's like there's some massive hysterical martyr camp over there.

And they're Jaymes bashing, too. Yuck. I'm getting out of there before I post something stupid . . .

And I'm looking forward to the download of Bakin with Aiken! Sounds like he was rilly CUTE!

  13. I don't mean to be callous - but I'm really wondering this. Why is 'trust' such an issue? I keep seeing that bandied around over there. 'I still 'love' him, I just don't 'trust' him.' He's not our son or our lover - he's a singer and an entertainer and humantarian. Honestly, it's sounding more and more like a bunch of jilted lovers than fans of a singer.

I think you hit the nail on the head for some of them!

  14. While I agree wholeheartedly with cindilu, I see there is a line forming for marriage. Therefore, I've decided to marry Gibby for this:

So, I'm giving him grace about the lying thing. It's understandable, it's not a deal breaker for me, and I still love him inordinately. And my hope is that fans who are upset about the lie will eventually come to the place where they can give him grace and forgiveness for the lie. My opinion is that we all mess up in life in some way or another, and need grace and forgiveness. I'm very grateful that people have forgiven me when I've messed up, and it would be hypocritical of my not to extend grace to Clay in this circumstance.

So much freakin' word. I can easily forgive him for this, because so many have forgiven me! I also think that I do forgive him because I don't believe I've thrown 5 years away at all -- he was still wildly entertaining to me at all those shows I attended, during the TV appearances, during Spamalot. He's given my life a rich new component, one of entertainment and joy. He's also given me the ability to learn so much about this world through him, the people around him, and the fans on message boards. Yes, that learning involves some ugly as well as good, but it's all learning.

Ah, ldyj, marriage sounds great! I love your answers to Scarlett's questions!

I'll have to tell my hubby and my girlfriend Couchie to make a little more room in the bed. Heeeeee! Oh, yeah, we need to think about your hubby, too . . . I guess it's going to be an orgy!!!

    :Pogo0:

Hey, jmh! When are you going to be in Denver? PM me if you want to try to get together for coffee and some Clay talk!!

  15. Lie, schmie. I understand why he misrepresented himself right after AI. I think most of us would have done the same thing, and are guilty of lying about other things. For me it's not an issue because of the situation he was in. And since then he's gone to GREAT pains NOT to lie.

I'm very grateful that people have forgiven me when I've messed up, and it would be hypocritical of me not to extend grace to Clay in this circumstance.

Part of the reason Clay's revelation has been easy for me to accept is that I suspected that Clay may be gay. Not in the early days, certainly, but more recently. I didn't KNOW, because he hadn't told us. But I certainly entertained it as a possible option, especially after Parker was born. And I reached the conclusion that it wouldn't matter to me. Still doesn't matter to me.

It must have been very hard for him to sing in front of screaming females with "Marry me Clay signs," and then come out and say "I am gay." I cannot even begin to imagine how he must have felt at the time. He was in a very difficult position.

Why would he feel anything other than flattered, really? I mean the seeing of the signs and declarations of love part – not the coming out part. I took a guy to New Orleans during Southern Decadence and he is straight – he got whistled at and got some cat calls from gay men. He was *flattered* and he waved and reveled in it. Combine the two for Clay and that would be awkward, but by itself, I don’t think anything fans did to show the love to Clay made him anything other than flattered. None of the gay men I know say “Eeeww” when a woman finds them attractive.

Heeeee - I've been hit on by gay women a number of times, and always found it quite flattering. And I'm straight as the day is long. My daughter, who has a number of gay friends, recently went to a pride festival in Denver. She was hit on, too, and also found it flattering. Hey, if someone finds you attractive, it's a really nice thing!

Not sure if this has been mentioned here........don't think so, though. Apparently the OFC mods had a discussion with Clay yesterday and he laid down some rules that he wants applied to the People magazine thread at the OFC. To read them, go here.

THANK YOU for the link. WHOA!! We sure did pick us a keeper, didn't we? Clay is amazing. I honestly think many people in that situation would shut down the thread, disallow certain kinds of posting across the forum, and maybe even shut down the forum for awhile. Not our guy!!

I think that it takes a lot of guts to stand up and say hit me but leave those other guys alone the way Clay has done in that thread. He continues to amaze me.....just how wide can a person's wide eyed wonder get?

  16. posthoing one more time to say..how much Gibby's post touched me the other day. I hope it was Gibby heee I also find that I love him even more. Last night I was giddy forking over my money for Spam tickets and happy to know I'll be there to see him ride off into the sunset one more time.

Aw, thanks, girlfriend! Yup, that was me.

I'm just getting ready to leave work, and am off to a rehearsal. Why, oh why, do all of these Clay things happen on days when I'm busy morning to night? I still haven't watched this morning's GMA. But I rilly appreciate all of the reports and screencaps! They helped me get through the day. And I also appreciated the link to Clay's post.

    FCA rocks!
