  1. So nice to have this little haven, where I can check in and make sure nothing important has happened in Clay land.

    Isn't it tho? :RedGuy:

Today I suppose I should unpack my bag from Tulsa that is sitting, open, right in the middle of the LR floor, but I think I'll shop and go see the HP movie instead. I also need to watch a couple of condensed games that I missed while on the road and all of the Houston and Tulsa Clack that I haven't gotten to yet.

Hey, I have yardwork to ignore, ya'll.

    ---

Not sure if you know Couchie, but there is a series going on :whistling-1:

After watching the last two games and hearing the commentary and reading the articles, I think these two teams are like a mirror of each other. I can't believe I'm seeing the same A's that spanked us so soundly the last couple of times we played. I'm sure other teams feel the same about the Twins. This season you just never know which team is going to show up and if they'll bring their actual hitting bats or their assbats.

FWIW your team is highly thought of by Twins fans. They even have a special song for Marco Scutaro...sung to the tune of "Sussudio" by Phil Collins. Not many opposing players get their own theme song. But we are all ever so thankful that you do not having "Darth" Thomas anymore. *g*

  2. I, for some odd reason, really like hip thrusting Clay. I must study it more to determine the reason....

    Here...let me help.

Sorry not to be much in the way of like...you know...conversation but RL (read: work) is sucking up all my energy this week. [rant] I hate people (read: the public) right now. I have a potential job transfer coming up in the Fall. I will have to commute for the first time ever, 40 mn one way as opposed to 5. Yikes. Probably not much more in the way of money but, blessedly, I will not have to work with the "public" any longer. It's sad in a way because it's something that I think I'm really very good at. But it wears on a person to be bitched at about the same shit over and over and over. [/rant]

I love Clay and wish with all my being that I could just get paid to follow him around the country. *sigh*

On that note... I gotta go get bitched at somemore... :cryingwlaughter:

  3. I don't know how I missed meeting anyone from FCA.. I don't do the pre-parties anymore so maybe that's it. But I was at the BAR!

    I swear! :RedGuy:

I was gonna quote a bunch of people re footsie story but it seemed like a lot of work and I'm feeling rather lazy this eve. *g* IMO the media is going to tell exactly the story that they want to tell. Nothing more, nothing less. Having been in the middle of a major local news story over the past couple of years I learned this painful lesson first hand. I also think that Clay is the C in team Clay as someone said. It is his career and he will do as he will. For me it's that simple. So I will just love him and follow him around the country when I can.

I'm not sure there are many Beatles or Elvis fans in Clay's age group. I don't know any anyway. Doesn't surprise me at all.

    This is nice...

pffffffffffffbt. I wear my edit counter with pride. I'm usually editing shortly after posting and don't finish until way past the point that anyone would possibly care or notice. Hee.

Why yes I am a bit obsessive compulsive. Why do you ask? :cryingwlaughter:

    seeeeeeeee?

    Hi guys!

Getting ready to check out of the hotel, eventhough I'd like to stay until the LAST possible second to make up for the long wait to check in yesterday grumblegrumblegrumble.

Oh well I think we put them through their paces at the bar last night! :RedGuy:

    the not so good....

Hmmm. The drive was loooooooong. The wait to check in was loooooooooooooong. The wait to get a drink at the bar was loooooooooooong. We forgot our binoculars (*sob*). The venue was "historic" only in thee most literal sense. IOW it's just plain old & in dire need of "restoration".... at the very least a coupla coats of paint. The acoustics in the venue also sucked. Rude rude rude audience shouters and screamers.

    the soooooooooo good....

The Ceasar Salad w/shrimp I had in the bar may have been the best CS I've ever eaten. Delish!

    *what?????*

Let's just say everything NOT mentioned above that happened between putting my butt in the seat and landing in bed late last night....

Clay....was a'frickin'dorable. This CANNOT be stressed enough! He looked so great and sounded awesome. He looks like he's having so much fun up there! He did seem a bit flustered/offkilter at the very beginning of the show. I had only heard about the plane thingy briefly and didn't make the connection to the banter until after the intermission. It was much cuter after I'd heard the story *g*. The orchestra was IMO awesome, especially the cello player spotlighted on LAL. I love the way they've staged this with the spot on Clay and thecello and Clay turning towards the cello to actually "duet" with it. Gah...just gah. I loved the medleys and hearing all of the ATDW's songs. I choked up on BYLM...as I knew I would. He was wonderful! I love him!

    Other observations...

Quiana said some funny shit last night. Like with the water bottle she wanted to make sure that the women was still not actually drinking water from said bottle....cuz that wouldn't be good for her. Hee. Their interaction was adorable over the skirt/dress. As was his banter with Angela when he asked her how long she'd known him and then said "I love you Angie..." So cute. He said Jessie was now "stuck" with them all. Out in the parking lot ... we were in the first 25 people and Jerome was a hoot. When he came out and said he was gonna try to work something out the local security guy was like.... and this is a quote...ARE THEY CONTROLABLE? Jerome said "oh yeah...just watch" and then he told us to move, and where, and we moved. Hee. Making everybody hold hands in line was IMO Jerome showing off. He knows. Boy does he know. I had a couple of little kids in front of me and they got a hand touch from Clay and were all excited. Of course we all were...a bit. He looked another shade of incredible going down that line.

    Is it August yet!??????????

  5. Just for shits & giggles and because I'm apparently as cheeeeezy as the next mouse, I pulled some lyrics from a few of the TV themes that Clay sang in the medley.

I think some of them are just perfect.

As Long as We Got Each Other by Steve Dorff & John Bettis

Show me that smile again. (Show me that smile)

Don't waste another minute on your cryin.

We're nowhere near the end (nowhere near)

The best is ready to begin.

Oooohhh. As long as we got each other

We got the world spinnin right in our hands.

Baby you and me, we gotta be

The luckiest dreamers who never quit dreamin.

As long as we keep on givin

We can take anything that comes our way

Baby, rain or shine, all the time

We got each other Sharin the laughter and love.

Nothing’s Gonna Stop Me Now by Jesse Frederoc & Bennett Salvay

Sometimes the world looks perfect: Nothing to rearrange.

Sometimes you get a feeling like you need some kind of change.

No matter what the odds are this time, nothing’s going to stand in my way.

This flame in my heart, and a long lost friend.

Gives every dark street a light at the end.

Standing tall, on the wings of my dream.

Rise and fall, on the wings of my dream.

The rain and thunder. The wind and haze.

I’m bound for better days. It’s my life and my dream,

Nothing’s going to stop me now.

It Takes Diff’rent Strokes by Alan Thicke, Gloria Loring & Al Burton

Now, the world don’t move to the beat of just one drum,

What might be right for you, may not be right for some.

A man is born, he’s a man of means.

Then along come two, they got nothing but their jeans.

Everybody’s got a special kind of story.

Everybody finds a way to shine,

It don’t matter that you got not alot. So what,

They’ll have theirs, and you’ll have yours, and I’ll have mine.

    And together we’ll be fine...

Because it takes, Diff’rent Strokes to move the world. Yes it does.

It takes, Diff’rent Strokes to move the world.

Everywhere You Look by Jesse Frederick

Everywhere you look, everywhere you go (there’s a heart).

There’s a heart. A hand to hold onto.

Everywhere you look, everywhere you go.

There’s a face of somebody who needs you.

    Everywhere you look,

When you’re lost out there and you’re all alone,

A light is waiting to carry you home,

Everywhere you look. Everywhere you look.

If you'd like to look up more...heres a neat site.

  6. Oh Karen. I love that first one!

Here's the Tulsa World article...it's nice!

    Tulsa World

I found this part at the very end interesting...

The woman who went with Aiken to his prom lives in Bixby, and the singer named his English bulldog after the town, he said.

When did Clay have/get an English Bulldog?

And does anyone else sense a theme here? :cryingwlaughter:

    ---

I leave for KC this afternoon. Will meet up with Creole tomorrow morning to take off for Tulsa.

eta : I was goofin' around cuz I have a bit of time this a.m. and found some lyrics from a few of the TV Themes that I liked and posted them in the Frisco thread.

  7. Well I ain't believin' no set list until I see it performed. Hee. That will be at Tulsa. I'll be traveling during the show tomorrow and won't get to even hear what happened until Saturday. I'm sorta glad it worked out that way.

Other people's disappointment doesn't bother me at all. After all, it's theirs. Not mine. I concentrate on what makes me happy. What doesn't, I avoid.

  8. Okay now for my really most likely unpopular opinion that I've formed after watching most of the clack and not having seen the actual show yet. (How's that for a disclaimer? *g*)

I think, I'm looking forward more to the TV Themes Medley than the Classics Medley.

I think Clay's right. There were some teriffic themes back in the day. Just plain great songs. And I think he hit MOST of my favorites so of course I feel the con.nec.tion (hee). The set up to the bit w/the Perfect Strangers theme (which is all I've seen) really works IMO. It is part of Clay's story (which he also mentioned in LTS). And if singing TV Themes is cheesy so be it. Clay has shown a penchent for cheese in the past. Has he not?

OTOH maybe Clive will sense an idea for the next covers CD.

    I KEED! I KEED!

    :cryingwlaughter:

    *Ouch! Stop throwing things*

That being said, I also agree with Clay that LAL is rather a downer. I think it will work but I do understand his reticence about putting it in the show and I don't think he's just being overly humble. From what I saw, it has a vulnerable quality to it that I'm not sure he's comfortable with at this point.

But what do I know? I apparently like CHEESE as much as the next mouse because I get a bigger kick out of him singing lyrics like

THIS IS MY LIFE AND MY DREAM AND NOTHING'S GONNA STOP ME NOW!

    That's MY guy! :F_05BL17blowkiss:
