Happy Clay Day!
-
cagney, I collected those Beatles cards in 1964.
Me, too. I remember trading them on the playground at school, but I don't remember the details. I mean... there were only 4 guys, I guess there were multiple pictures of each and maybe some group pictures, but still.... trading?
Great picture of everyday Clay.
I love the sweetness of anticipation.

Those snippets, not to mention the full songs.... those amazing sounds.....

Yay for the promotion! I love it. The pictures might not be everyone's cuppa, but what is? I think it's an interesting concept.
We'll be seeing Clay soon. :clay:
And we'll be listening to some new material (new to us from him, that is)
That's what it's all about to me.
Bring it on!
I would hate to be one of those fans who truly loves Clay in their way and yet sees things with that negative eye. What a way to suck the joy out of a good thing. As JaMar said, some people are just like that. It's not voluntary, although I think it could be modified with some awareness. Who am I kidding? Whatever. I'm just glad it's not my experience.

I thought I would be seeing you in Philly duckie hee.
You never know..... when is your family reunion? You will probably be busy every minute, but if not, we could always hit the Couch Tomato Cafe.

I'll be in Reno. So will cagney.
-
cagney and I will be there!

Cagney and I will be in Reno, too!
Good seats, I just don't remember where. I am so looking forward to seeing Clay sing live. It seems as if it's been forever. Well, for me it almost has. I went to Spamalot more than a few times, but that was different. The last time I heard him sing live was the last Christmas tour.

Love the spoilers!
Have you seen the picture? It is on Yahoo

Wheeeeeee! Yes, I was certainly beside myself last night. I loved the way they kept cutting to the Ilderton community centre to show their reactions. And Scott is such a ham, isn't he? I don't know if I've ever seen someone so happy to win gold. They sure made us proud!
No wonder! They were fabulous. I love their elegant style.

A make-over!
Looks good to me.
Thanks for the warning email, Couchie, or I would have been lost. My bookmark was befuddled.

Tried and True (T&T). Perfect! :04:

Interesting to read about the music in people's homes as they were growing up. My parents listened mostly to 40's and some early 50's music - jazz, big band instrumentals, and soloists with the big bands. There were some great voices. But then my mother started calling Englebert Humperdinck her boyfriend and played him a lot. Funny to think back on that. Sounds a bit familiar.

Just in time, Couchie! :04:

He does. He's looked great all week. Love the longer hair, stubble, and mature look. Favorite clothing item: skinny olive green tie with the star in the center.
I don't know how Clay can stand answering the same questions over and over day after day. Those radio inteviews....oy. Somehow he manages to sound fresh each time.
KAndre, I'm with you on the arrangement of Unchained Melody. I still love to listen, as Clay sounds great, but that thing in the middle (glide to the key change) doesn't do it for me. Whatever. Love the CD. Have been listening to it non-stop on my hour and half commute to work. I am surprised at how much I like the big band sounds. The song that has grown on me the most is It's Only Make Believe. That one goes on repeat more often than not, along with Mack the Knife. Looking forward to the song-a-day discussion.
