  1. most excellent!

Hopefully there will be clack of his interview or if sombody can tell me exactly what time he came on I can switch in and out LOL.

Since tickets are being sold I hope they announce it soon. Hell it's not us I'm worried about since we'll know which dates are confirmed before Clay does -- but how can you sell tickets to a concert if nobody knows about it. Thank goodness for Ruben. I guess my mom will learn it's a Ruben/Clay tour when she watches idol tonight. I was trying to keep that a surprise. She'll definitely want to go as she's a huge Ruben fan.

He came up right at the first and sung and then they chatted. There is clack.

  2. I do wish he would blog and tell us what he thought about the concert. Was he happy how it all turned out? Were his people happy? Is he glad we all answered his beck and call? I really thought there would be something (like post-Spam debut). He did say he was going to have a few weeks off after it was over. Surely he could spare five minutes and blog? *sigh*

Yeah, it would be great. He was online yesterday, I was hoping that he might say he was pleased, maybe 'soon'.

  3. There is a certain sadness about not being able to recognize where one grew up. My home from age 10-18 was one my father built on 20 acres of land between Toronto and Oshawa in Ontario. The land was expropriated years ago and a few years ago a highway bypass was built over it. I had such a strange feeling as my brother drove me over the bridge and I could look down on the ravine where we used to play, where we picked hepaticas and violets for our mother's breakfast tray on Mother's Day.

On another note...Amazon.ca does not have Clay's Tried and True but it's amazing how many CDs by other artists have the same name. I was going to order it thru Amazon.com but I balked at having to pay US $20.97 for a 12.99 CD. Crazy..right? coming from someone who just came back from Raleigh.

I was going to ask for someone here to buy one for me but realized that what with the cost of mailing it wouldn't be much less. Also it is 2 discs. I wonder if Deluxe edition means we get video?

Actually Lotus there is a shipping and handling place over the border here where I have had things shipped and can be picked up. I did that for some amazon orders, so you can get free shipping and handling. Just a thought, if a few of us wanted to order and have it shipped there, you can give them all of your information but allow others to pick your stuff up. There might be something similar for you too on that side of the country?

  4. So exciting the concert dates are increasing. Now one in Reno..tickets on sale Thursday morning...can someone, anyone give me advice?

Do you think that there will be other concerts nearby, that is, within reasonable driving or busing distance from Reno?

I really would much prefer to go to more than one concert if I'm going to fly 1100km even if I did go much further, around 5000km, for Saturday's amazing concert experience.

I wonder if Clay will have meet and greets other than ones auctioned off.

I would certainly buy a ticket. I wonder if there will be clumps of concerts two or three in NC; two or three in NY; two or three out west; maybe some in the south close to where Ruben would consider home???

Too bad it isn't in June when I am out there we could fly down together.

  5. Has anyone mentioned Clay's joke abuot menopause yet? We were talking last night and remembered it, something about how the show "Menopause" had just finished playing the day before in the venue, and Clay said "first Menopause, then Clay Aiken". Hee.

I think I am in withdrawal right now. I watched GFI and gala clack yesterday to help. As thrilled as I am that it seems as though the entire fandom heeded Clay's wishes and did not take any clack, it's going to be a long 78 days until June 1st! I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed to hear those songs and arrangements again!!!!

Yesterday we met up with old friends and did the Crabtree Valley Mall. It's our home away from home, I know that mall better than any mall in the city where I live. We had dessert at the Cheesecake Factory, and dinner at Kanki, in that order. whistling-1.gif The Alumni Campus store has all their team hoodies and sweatshirts on sale for $19.99, yeah! I picked an NC State one up for my son (black with red), and luckiestdaughter and I bought some cool St. Patrick's day t-shirts for ourselves, Tar Heels and East Carolina respectively. The sales girl was hilarious, insisting she couldn't bag the different team wear in the same bag or it might catch on fire. Ha ha. I told her in Canada no one cares, we just like the variety of colours. cryingwlaughter.gif

Today's plans include saying goodbye to our travel buddies, who are either flying or bussing home today, and then hitting the highway towards Wilson N.C. for more visiting. We don't fly home until tomorrow. Thankfully, the weather has really cooperated with us, and there has only been a small scattering of rain. The temps are much milder than back home, so we are v.v. happy.

Love the picture of Clay & Jamie, and hope we do get those AP photos without watermarks. There is a very nice one of Clay smiling, and another of Clay's silhouette in the darkness that I love.

I've been hearing lots of stories of fans who have run into Reed in and around the Marriott and he sounds like such a nice, sweet guy. So happy for Clay that he has been here this week. The American Tobacco thing sounds interesting, maybe it was the photo shoot for the album artwork? Sure hope so, can't wait until the sites that have it for sale are updated with the artwork and the track listing! I loved Suspicious Minds in the concert but to me, it doesn't quite fit the theme of the album, or the sound of the album, based on what we heard in concert, so I would not be surprised for it to be left off. Like everyone else, I hope that PBS gives us ALL the concert, including outtakes. :)

Sorry we didn't knock on your door to say goodbye but we lef the hotel at 7:45am so I didn't think you would want to be up that early. Our flight is delayed out of here until after noon and we will have missed our connection in D.C. next flight is 5 something and we are wait listed. Confirmed on the flight at 10 something. Hmmmm probably won't fly United again. See you guys when we are all back in town.

  6. Yes, the very same. However this time for an extra $15 you can be guaranteed to at least be on the floor. I am not sure if that means if you don't spend the $15 you can't be? But in this case, probably. However it's still a general admission venue.

I'm putting all of these dates on the calendar. It would be great if all of the concerts ended up over a long weekend type of deal. Might be easier for everyone and maybe Clay could go home during the week and be with his family. I think a few artists do it that way. Wish all the dates would come out though so we can plan.

  7. Wheeeeeeeeee! It IS a TOUR!!!!!!!!!!!! From Notacanuck at CH:

Clay & Ruben are playing Chautauqua on August 6.
An Evening with Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard

    When Friday, August 6, 2010, 8:15 – 10:15pm

    Where Amphitheater

    Week-by-Week Week 6—August 1-7

    Ticket Web Link tickets.ciweb.org

    Ticket Phone 716.357.6250

Two "American Idol" legends join forces for this special tour. In 2003, on the second season, with over 24 million votes cast by the TV viewing audience, Ruben Studdard won the title, while Clay Aiken was the very close runner up. Both artists have released albums, performed around the country and made multiple appearances on TV. Clay Aiken has become the biggest selling male artist the show has ever featured.

Isn't this where we almost killed ourselves for General Admission (skidding down those ramps?)

  8. If you are interested in the Asheville concert, check the CH concert thread for information on a group ticket/hotel room sale.

Because I couldn't find it earlier, info is in this post. (Gawd this new board makes links easy.)

Thank you, however, I think this is just for Clackhouse members. It is asking for a username and password.

Crap--it's in the supersekrit part. PM me if you want the details.

No, it's ok. Thank you for offering. I will wait to see what shows up elsewhere. I appreciate the offer.

  9. A question for Canadian fans here

When you order tickets thru Ticketbastard for a concert in the States do you have the tickets mailed to you or do you just get them at the box office.

Will someone here please reassure me that everything will be fine?

Lotus, we always use Ticketfast (ie, a soft copy ticket) for the very reason you've just identified....hard tickets are always mailed just prior to the concert, and if you're travelling this just doesn't cut it.

But....:)....it WILL be fine. If they don't come in time before you leave you can get that "lost tickets" thingy.

ETA: I think you may just get them, actually...it usually takes about 5-7 days. Be careful you don't dispose of them by accident! They come in a very plain, unidentified white envelope which looks kind of like junk mail.

The only problem is that a lot of times you don't have the Ticketfast option if you are buying tickets for a concert in the US. In fact the only option for Canadians (if we had actually been able to get in lol) was via mail. Totally stupid IMO. BUT then so is the extra charge to email your tickets to you (since it costs them so much ya know?)

  10. LOL, does one date = tour? I love optimism!!!

Hee, I am the queen of optomism! :P But I do believe this is the beginning of a barrage of dates to be announced.....at least I hope it is! Not so sure I can travel back to NC as soon as July, but Michigan or New York state are definitely doable!

Unless of course we had an extra day and drove instead of flew????

  11. Just posted on CV. EEEEEEEE.

Oops sorry the site says the 23rd Biltmore

  12. yeah Clay just posted on facebook that it's fixed

    Facebook?

Glad that it is finally fixed. Too little too late though...nothing better than what I managed to get (section F row F). I may try again in the public sale to see what is released. I am happy to just be in the building at all after all the stress this morning! But Clay makes me laugh, because to him it should just matter that we can hear him. He doesn't get that we want to see him too. :cryingwlaughter: He is such a sweetie.

So now that that is over, I get to go home and totally stress myself out watching the mens' short program at the Olympics tonight. What a day!

Sorry I was really busy at work, sure didn't need this stress and I posted quickly. There was an announcement from team Clay on facebook, is what I should have said.

  13. I need an american!!! Helllllllllllllp?

I did find row Cs in the side mezz S section just 10 min ago but of course couldn't get them!!!

Anybody on here willing to get them and do etickets and I'll paypal you tonight?

Tried the US site and was to section T but still row C, so not too much different.

I can PM you my code if anybody can help?

Hey we have an extra set of tickets if you are interested. PM me

  14. Well thankfully someone at CV offered me a pair so I took them. This is the most frustrated I have ever been on a ticket sale I think. To see everyone posting about how they are throwing tickets back because they aren't good enough and to be unable to complete any ticket purchase because I am Canadian.....ARGH. "Ain't too proud to beg" is all that is going through my mind today.

That was the worst. Thank goodness for American friends.
