  1. blowtorched puppy question -- I truly can't imagine not being a fan of Clay and agree it would have to be something horribly criminal and henious, but even with witnesses I would probably doubt the truth of the charge. If he ever got into drugs, that would bother me tremendously, and I'd be pulling for him to get out of that world, but I don't think that would be a blowtorched puppy issue for me. I would hurt for him very much and want to help. Any genre of music is fine with me. I'd even suffer through rap and hip hop with him!
  2. Since I just got here and time is up, I'll just do a WORD to this. Same for me. And since time is up, I won't answer the other two questions except to say I tend to do more behind the scenes, or try to, and there isn't time to be around as much as I'd like to. Still trying to find the balance between living out west w/ family versus when I was by myself in Dallas. I hates that my Claytime suffers.
  3. Windstar2, yes, by all means, if you get out this way I sure hope we can get together!!! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Muski, I've been meaning to say for several days now that I hope you get well soon. Sooooooo sorry this yucky cold found you and that it is such a busy time at work. Trying to send positive somethings! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Yeah, me too. Have a great day, FCA!
  4. Caro, best wishes and the most sincere congratulations!!!!!! :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  5. If you missed it earlier and want to see, the HaagenDazs vs. Ben & Jerry show is on The Food Network. It just came on. ETA: correct Dazs spelling!!
  6. He did look gorgeous that night, and all that promotional week (and many times since, of course)!! GREAT BIG THUD!
  7. Not just a daddy, but a little girl's daddy! If it's a boy, doesn't count. I'm still lookin'!!! Of course, when it's a girl, I'll still be lookin', just might feel a tad guilty about it, once in a while, maybe!!! :eusa_whistle: Love the scenario Bookwhore gave of the "curly-haired, red-headed girl in his arms with her arms twined tightly around his neck". Just precious!!!
  8. On my computer at work, the scrolling marquee screensaver says, "Hearing Clay Aiken sing makes any day better." And, yes, he does often sing on my work computer - most just where I can hear it though. Yes, I agree. Ahhh, couchie, you are so welcome. Glad to be of service!! Hee! Of those Blue Bell flavors you listed, I have had the banana split, and it's good! I've almost been tempted to go to the store today and buy the blackberry cobbler one, but having to leave home to do it kept me grounded. I've been v.v. curious about the banana pudding one too - haven't had it yet. How I wish they put ALL their flavors in the pint size. Then I could have tasted everything!! It's not safe to buy that many gallons, however. Just.not.good! Bookwhore, I've been mulling it over and really, outside of an extremely close family member being on their deathbed or just past, or something extremely major at work I didn't know about before booking the concert trip, the only other thing that could make me skip a Clay concert I planned to attend would be attending Brian Boitano's final public performance, or his shows in the final season of his career, but there should be enough lead time on both to not just have something come up. Fortunately, we're not to that point yet of BB retiring, and I would definitely reschedule the Clay show (if it were part of a tour). Very little will make me cancel my plans to attend something Clay!
  9. Ok, that left me with a question in my mind. Does this mean when Clay's some little girl's Daddy, do we have to quit looking? I sure hope not!! :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  10. Going backwards, the CD/DVD thingee sounds marvelous. I bought two of them earlier this afternoon!!! Bring on the Clack! And to your first comment, he sure did, didn't he!! That was priceless. Your museum trip sounds wonderful. This just made me BWAHHHHHHHHHH and smile real big!!! :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  11. Muski? Bwahahahahahah!!!! Bwahahahah! Tone the smut down? Shut. Up. WORD, McWordy, Word, word!!!! Muski... don't you dare, if you could! You make me laugh and that is a gift and your stories make parts tingle that need to stay in practice... just in case, ya' know! Yeah, THAT!!!
  12. And that one at Indio, when he was throwing out the names of composers who wrote fast stuff for orchestras - though I can't remember the words right now!! It was good though!!! ETA: I went and looked it up. He said makkaflala. So it wasn't a double entendre, it WAS funny!!! Too bad I didn't add Indio to the itinerary!!
  13. For the representin' list, I'm planning to be in Vegas for the skating show! I'll be with HippoGA (from CB)
  14. Just got caught up since last night. ...clears throat... sorta slept v.v. late today, like nearly Noon, so the past couple of hours have been wake up mode, mostly spent reading!! I really do need to get up and get busy doing some work stuff, but this relaxing time is sooooooo nice! Awesome Admin Note, Couch Tomato. Truly great. Also, I found at CV the skating show preparty reminder said to PM eleid if you want to go but aren't signed up. That's what I did, because I wasn't (and I'm awaiting her reply). Thank you for your mention of it or I'd still be in forgot mode myself. One dear friend I'll be meeting up with there, HippoGA, sent me the info weeks ago and I still didn't get it done. ...smacks self on forehead... Oy. I hope it works out. KAndre....I know what all of that milky chocolaty stuff is but what is Blue Bell ice cream? First, I knew the milk chocolate lovers just hadn't checked in yet!!! Second, and I realize it's already been answered, but Blue Bell ice cream ROCKS!!!!! I have no clue what flavor is my favorite - I try to stay away from it, but sometimes it just calls. Their website is a lot of fun to browse through as well. Take a peek! Blue Bell Ice Cream When I think of Blue Bell ice cream I always remember a very special time with a dear, wonderful friend no longer here. I'll try to make this brief. My prior fandom is that of being a huge Brian Boitano fan. In the summer of 1995 when he was headlining the Tom Collins' summer tour, there were 5 stops in Texas. This dear, dear friend came here from NC and stayed with me in Dallas and we road-tripped it to the 5 shows. There was a little break between the Dallas and Fort Worth shows and the Houston, Austin and San Antonio shows, so she just stayed at my apartment while I worked part of the days. Anyway, when we were driving between Houston and Austin, when the mileage signs started appearing for the little town of Brenham, Blue Bell's home, I suggested maybe we could stop by and tour the creamery and maybe there would be free samples. Not the best sight-see'er in the world, my friend just quipped, "I'll buy you some Blue Bell, Alice, keep driving!" I still want to tour the creamery! And another funny (to me) Blue Bell story, also Boitano fandom related, was waaaaay back in 1993, a whole bunchaBrian fans came to Dallas to attend a competition he was in. This was my first time to meet many of these people whom I knew through snail mail, telephone conversations and a bi-monthly fanzine which included writings of their trip experiences, and it was a regathering with a few others! No internet then! We did pretty well without it, but man, how even more awesome it would have been! Anyway, at dinner one night, the hubby of one of the ladies was intrigued by the 10-scoop Blue Bell dessert that was listed, so he ordered it. And he ordered a spoon for everyone at the table (probably 18-20), and around the table this big dish of Blue Bell went! It was great! I never once felt weird about my Clay fandom, I got over that years ago when as a then 32 year old I joined the fan club of a then 25 year old guy I didn't know. The (still existing) BB fandom/friends experience was/is such a great experience and I NEVER expected something like it to repeat, so for Clay and all that followed to come to my life was such an unexpected blessing. I do feel so very lucky. (No, I don't like the drama!) It took me until "I Could Not Ask For More" to realize that Clay had me hook, line and sinker. I was crazy about him all along, and pulling for him, he had me from very early on, I just didn't realize it until ICNAFM! I had a very hard time with guilt feelings because Clay was creeping in where Brian had been for so long. Finally, another dear friend cleared it up instantly when she said, "Well, Alice, you weren't looking for Brian when he came into your life either." And then it was ok to love them both!!! And I do. Like, A LOT!!! Lotsa LOTS!!! Waves to jumpingjacks!! I had the pleasure of meeting and rooming with JJ in Nashville for the JNT05. She's a wonderful lady. Would love to repeat sometime. :F_05BL17blowkiss: Good luck on the Hanna Montana/____(can't think of her name) Cyrus tickets, Windstar. Another wonderful lady. We happened to wind up in line by each other at the Tulsa busline!!! It was so great to meet you, Windstar!! She's also wonderful, y'all!! I know there was more I wanted to say, but I forgot, and I've really got to get up and do something, but it would be soooo easy to just veg at the computer ALL DAY. Have a great day, everyone, and thank you for the wonderful welcome to those of us new (or new-ish) to FCA. It's a wonderful place here!! :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  15. Awwwwwwwww, I think the milk chocolate folks just haven't checked in yet!!! I was truly surprised to see so many dark chocolate lovers in one place!!
  16. Considering Clay's allergy, this might be the right website! Maybe the next topic could be would you give up chocolate for Clay? I would have to ruminate on that...... I love chocolate, but that's easy. I could and would!!! Seafood and treenuts would be tougher, but doable!! So, do y'all have this mental image of BF ruminating?
  17. psst - the two quotes you quoted after saying this were both from meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! I'm sorry!! You said good stuff!!! :F_05BL17blowkiss: It's (not all that) late, I'm tired and a bit lazy tonight. I shoulda gone back and looked! DUH! ETA: Ok, now WHY is it so horrible here to be at the top of the page? I haven't figured that one out yet!!! ETA2: saltwaterdog: I've got some of that in my pantry too, and it is good! I can even get it in W TX!
  18. With Clay Aiken's package??!?!?!?!?! OMG!!!!!! BWAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Ohhhh, can we do that, really? Please!!! Suddenly, even those who hates chocolate will love chocolate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too bad BF is allergic..... Are you tryin' to kill him? No, she says in a small, shy, meek voice. Let's just change the recipe from chocolate to vanilla, or buterscotch, or strawberry, or..... The rest of the plans sound grand!! {jmh123} for your day. Plus, JaMar IS as awesome as she seems. Oops, I overshot clearing out the excess in quotes, but I *think* this was Couchie: Sounds like a yummy smorgasbord to me!! I'll bet you do! I live a short walk from one, and I do almost all my shopping there now. There's one near my mother's house, and I often stop by and pick up our lunch from the food bar there as well. They make eating healthy enticing, and I've grateful for that, for me--and for her, because I know if I pick up something nutritious from there, she'll eat it and enjoy it. So yeah for Whole Foods, and I feel for ya big time. (And I'm sure the Lexington-style barbeque on the hot bar today was a mistake and won't happen again.) Ohhh, I am so jellus!! And so pleased you have that wonderful store so close by. We do have a sorta similar store here, but it's not WFM. Still, for the products I like to use when I'm being good, it's nice to be able to get them even out in the middle of W. TX!
  20. Maybe buy the darkest chocolate pudding mix you can find and stir it into whipped cream??? Sounds sorta sinful!
  21. That's the Hershey's I was trying to think of! What I've bought is the Cacao Reserve that is in truffle form and in a cute little metal box that holds 8 pieces!! Good stuff too! Another cherry jello dish.... I don't have my actual recipe handy right now, don't even know where it is - somewhere in the boxes in the garage! Someday I'll get my now one year old move back home completed and all unpacked! Maybe. I have my computer and most of my Clay stuff and that seems to be fine. Hee hee! But that was sort of a digress... The dish is called Coke Salad. It was on our Thanksgiving table all during my growing up years and beyond. It, at least used to be, Mother's favorite on the Thanksgiving table. Granny made it. A n y w a y, it uses black cherry jello, coca-cola is the liquid (boiling and room temp or cold, normal amounts that would have been used if water were the liquid). That is probably well mixed and chilled to slightly thickened phase. Then whipped cream (not cool whip), chopped up maraschino cherries and pecans were folded into it. It's very pretty and is also good. Have NO clue if the SF jello and diet coke could be used instead. I hatessss Diet Coke usually (sorry xxx4clay, but it's fine, great, good and wonderful that you lurvessss it!! :F_05BL17blowkiss: ), so cannot imagine it used in this fashion!! I think that's all the ingredients, can't imagine what might be missing, and I'm not sure of amounts - but if that sounds good and you like to cook, it could probably be eyeballed and you'd get close! Oh, and have you ever noticed how adding chopped pecans to something just makes it taste like Thanksgiving? Or maybe that's one of those Southern things!!!
  22. Regarding top of or bottom of page posts --- it all depends on how many posts per page your controls are set to as to what/who's at the top or bottom. All the folks (at least two) who commented about their post being either top or bottom were neither for me on this page!! Just somewhere in between!! In case you were wonderin'! Dark chocolate, the last I bought and I'm really liking it is Lindt 85% Extra Dark (or some such wording), but it was definitely the 85%. And another I really like is from, of all places, Sam's Choice brand!! It's a Belgian Chocolate with 70% cocoa, though it's hard to find. When I was in Dallas, I would usually buy my dark chocolate at Whole Foods Market. Chocoluv is another good one, in varying cocoa percentage counts! God do I miss Whole Foods Market, The Container Store, Foley's (they are no more anyway), Snappy Salads, and Boston Market! And probably in about that order too! Good evening, FCA! ETA!! All day I've been wondering about spikesmom's cherry jello! That's for the update!! I've been thinking about the topping for that. As I said last night, I'm wondering if it might be something Mother would like while recovering from her knee replacement surgery. Her tastes have come out so whacky since surgery. She wants what little she does eat to be very bland, not surprising necessarily after surgery. She always added tons of butter spray and often way too much Splenda to various food products before eating them, but since surgery, she just doesn't want things very sweet (this is not a bad thing in my book - the amount of Splenda she used to use gags me to think about!). Anyway, back to the cherry jello, I'm wondering if some of the sweet could be cut by having the whipped cream topping also include a little sour cream? It would change the texture somewhat, but it seems like it would still make a nice, creamy topping. (Hope that thought didn't gross anyone out.)
  23. I'm a great justifier!!! Maybe those folks whose motto is to eat dessert first since life is short are really on to something!! Hope the lite version is good. It's seriously something I'd like to try! Mother is recovering from knee replacement surgery right now and sis and I are providing the care. She's not wanting to eat much but loves jello salads and cherry, so... Sounds like this might be a match made in heaven! Good night, FCA!!! :F_05BL17blowkiss:
