  1. Wow, I have not been here since Thanksgiving night. There were a lot of pages to catch up!

On Black Friday I was out shopping with my two dd's for 10 hours! My legs and feet were screamin', let me tell you! I didn't even buy that much, but we had fun. Its not often that we get that much time with DD#1.

DH took a run up to NJ yesterday to visit his aunt in the hospital, so dd#2 and I went to see August Rush. Its a good movie if you can suspend rational thought and reality for a couple of hours. The music was wonderful and I had to wipe my eyes at the end. Hee.

One week from today we will be getting ready to see Clay in DC!!

Safe travels to all going out on the concert circuit. Hope to see some of you in DC and Williamsport. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

  2. Playbiller, we ate about 5:30 because dd and sil had an early dinner with his parents and then came here. I would prefer to eat a little earlier, but we've had to do it this way for the last several years. Next year dd and sil hope to have their own house and she says she will have Thanksgiving at her house for all of us.

Today we had turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato casserole, canned cranberry sauce (for dh), an apple/cranberry dish, green bean casserole, corn, rolls, pumpkin pie and apple pie. Whew!!

    Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

  3. oh I bet she gets used to the touchpad quickly. I used to hate it too, but now its so natural to me that even if I have my pen and tablet hooked up and still use the touch pad.

Yup, I switch back and forth from using a regular pc with a mouse at work to a laptop with a touchpad at home with no problem. Just takes a little getting used to.

I use a wireless mouse with my laptop. Love it. Hate the touchpad, but I suppose I could get used to it if I had to.

You must have a very nice brother, Couch Tomato!

Hurray for All Is Well coming to iTunes finally. I'll never understand why there were so few available last year.

  4. :cry4: I was able to get into the OFC and read Clay's newest blog, then went over to the media section to check out the new pictures. Was able to download the 1st one, then when I tried to go back to get the rest it kicked me out. Now when I try to sign in, it shows that I'm in, but no matter what I try to click on, it brings me back to another sign-in page. Any ideas about what I need to do to get back in? :cry4:

I had the same problem. I cleared cache and cookies and rebooted twice. Not sure what did the trick, but its working for me now. Hope you get it figured out.

  5. Couchie, I was so glad I got to meet you, if only briefly. You know, you walked up to me outside while we were waiting to get in and asked if this was the place to wait for the preparty. It briefly crossed my mind that you might be you, but I thought it might be odd to ask a perfect stranger if her name was Couch Tomato. :cryingwlaughter: OTOH, maybe that is not so odd in the Claynation. Anyway, when I saw you talking to the FCA people I had met that morning, I just had to ask. By then we all had nametags anyway.

  6. Hi to soulsistah and ldsmom1!! :F_05BL17blowkiss: I haven't been at this board too long, but I'm enjoying it. I'm sure you will, too.

Glad to see an Iowa girl here. I grew up in Iowa. Don't live there anymore but do get back to visit occasionally.

Hope you will both join us in the main thread.

  7. Quick post because I'm working and should NOT be here. Heh!

I had lots of fun in Vegas. Got back late, late Wednesday, had to work Thurs, had computer issues :cry4: , and it took me forever to catch up here and at CV.

It was so nice to meet several of you at breakfast on Tuesday. I was a little nervous about that since I'm so new here at FCA, but everyone was very welcoming. Then at the preparty, I got a big hug from couchie, which was terrific. :F_05BL17blowkiss: I wish I could have sat with all of you, but felt I needed to stay with my little traveling group. I also won a raffle prize -- the lap desk with my CUTE boyfriend's picture on it.

I love all the pictures and how cool is that skating lesson picture from People. Clay is soooo cute...what a surprise. :hubbahubba:

AAIT, sorry I missed you in Vegas, but I'll be in Williamsport, God willing and the creek don't rise.

    Gotta go. Later, y'all.

  8. :Morning:

Yay for your new job, Couch Tomato!

Kids.....yeah, they're all different. My 22 yr old son is driving us nuts right about now. Problem is, I can't ground him. :idk: Its really hard to step back when we see him going down a road that we know will cause him difficulty, but apparently he is going to have to figure it out for himself. Neither one of the girls have ever given us much trouble. I better not say that too loud since the younger one is only 15.

    Have a great day everybody!!

  9. And jmh, I never forget Don Henley.

My favorite was always Glenn Frey. Hope that's not blasphemy. I see he's not from Texas, but I've always thought of the Eagles as a Texas band. I love Don too, especially for his mind--I love 'em all. Have sung along to their music on many a road trip. New album soon--YAY!!

Another Eagles lover here. jmh, I too sing along with them on road trips. When it's just me, I sing along with Clay, but if dh and I are on a road trip together it's the Eagle's, he likes them too. I just intersperse some Clay in with other things that we listen to when we are together.

Like Muski, I've been reliving the DCAT or SRHPT tour since last night. I'm just listening to audio. It's a compilation put together by Dancermom at CV. I like it really well. The sound is very even and she's done a nice job of fading from one song to the next. It is great reminder of why I'm still here. To use one of Clay's terms, he just blew the crap out of those songs. I haven't been able to wipe the smile off my face. Today I have the house to myself for a little while, that doesn't happen much anymore, so I'm listening to it on my home cd player, it sounds great.

I've loved everyone's pics of their pets.

Just wanted to correct that the compilation at CV was put together by ClayIzzaQT. Dancermom2 posted the clack alert once it was vaulted. I downloaded but have not had a chance to listen yet.

I don't have any doggies or kitties or guinea pigs. :cry4: If I did, I'd post a picture. :D

Going to see Hairspray this evening with my 2 dds. Touring company.

  10. I haven't been here in a day or so, so just caught up. I was just starting to get excited about my Vegas trip coming up when all Clay broke loose. Yesterday I bought tickets for me, hubby, and dd#2 for a Sat. matinee in March. We first thought we'd go for a couple of days, but the reality of hotel cost and transportation costs set in. Even though we live within driving distance of NYC, we won't drive there. Several bus companies run there daily and the cost is not bad; however, IF you want to go up one day and come back the next, the price is close to double what it is to come back the same day. The train is twice the cost of the one day bus fare. So the plan right now is to take the bus up in the morning, have lunch, see the matinee, and then catch the bus back in the evening. I'm still researching other alternatives and hoping to find a good deal on a hotel and/or transportation so that we could stay a little longer.

And, of course, I'd really like to be able to go to more than one show. Heh!!

    :imgtongue:

  11. laughn... :bday:

Good luck to those going to the fair for both traffic and seeing Clay!

I grew up in IL and was an idiot in HS. I would go to the HS football games in hose and flats and no hats and just about die from the cold, but I didn't want not to look kewl, so I just looked cold. I'm lucky I didn't lose some toes... :cryingwlaughter: How did we ever survive to adulthood???

Couchie... love the new emoticons! Thanks!

Judging by the sights I've seen at football games at my dd's high school, things haven't changed much. Except that instead of hose and flats, they wear flip flops and their bellies are hanging out between their itty bitty shirts and low rider jeans. :cryingwlaughter:

    Happy Birthday, laughn!!! :00003653:

  12. From Ch:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7rSpxZDuD4

I have not heard this one before.

That song is from one of his Hometown Connection shows, I believe. The lady singing with him is Pam Shanley (or something that sounds like that). I lurve that song. Have it on a CD of duets in my car.

ETA: Correction: The lady singing is Melanie Horton. Pam Shandley sings with him on "Healing."

  13. You know I understand that many fans liked BFM. I understand that some were disappointed to hear, from Clay, that he thought it cheesy. And I understand that some are sad to hear that it's been recorded for someone else's project. What I don't get is why it has to turn into this "thing." I just don't think the song is THAT damn important in the grand scheme of things that Clive would use it's awesome radio friendlyness to somehow punish Clay by NOT letting him record it. I just don't get all that. Clay wasn't too fond of it. It didn't fit the project. They didn't want to hold on to it for a future project and let it go. Is that really that implausible?

Is this really a big deal now in other places?

    BTW...LOVE THOSE PICS LdyJ!!!!

Yup, its a big deal in other places.

ETA: Ooooooh, lookie, I'm a body guard!!!!

  14. Back home after a long day. Our team won!!! And we had a nice dinner with dd and her dh.

I liked BFM as a concert song and it may have done well on the radio, but I don't think it did anything for Clay's voice. Its a song that can be sung by just about anyone and doesn't require the kind of voice he has. It only makes sense that it got released to someone else since Clay was not going to release it. I never heard of Loverboy. Probably because I wasn't into pop music in the 80's. That decade was devoted to Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, and Raffi. :D :

Keepingfaith, I loved the AI5 finale and I watch that video frequently. He strolled out on that stage looking every inch the STAR and was the watercooler talk for days after. Stole Taylor's thunder for sure.

Those AMA pics are just....... :hubbahubba:

  15. cha cha trusty, very cute new avatar. However, that cutie bears little resemblance to the hawt guy in the NY pictures.

I'll probably miss AIR tonight since we are heading out shortly to a college football game and then out to dinner with dd#1 and sil.

Its weird about the disconnect between the promo for AYSTAFG and the announced date on the OFC. So what else is new??

No birthdays listed on the calendar for today, but just in case: :00003653:

  16. There were other people in the pictures?? :cryingwlaughter:

Yeah, I looked. Guess I'll have to turn in my ClayCard!

    :cry4:

No, you don't. I did see them when I went back to look, but I didn't recognize anyone. I also went back to look at the shoes and the stuff in his hands and the shirt that somebody said was the same one he wore at the McDonalds handprint thing 3 years ago. Can anyone else give me another reason to go look again? :Thud:
