  1. Keepingfaith, your Joy To The World story is really funny and I think you should submit it. And, :00003653:

Clay in Spamalot or some other Broadway show. If he does it, I will go. However, I will believe it when he or his people announce it.

Fan Christmas stories -- could be very funny. If its not working, I'm sure he will change it up. The potential for some of the usual famewhores suspects fans to get on stage is certainly there, but it will be what it will be. I always enjoy his concerts no matter what he does or who he chooses to highlight.

What he looked like in those blue carpet pictures: no biggie to me. Harsh lighting, white background does not favor a pasty white boy. Fat? Hardly. I saw him close up this summer and he was NOT fat. More filled out than he used to be, yes. The entertainment websites and shows pick on lots of celebs for not looking their best. Clay is hardly alone. He is amazing in his ability to look so different at different times.

One of these days I will be able to stop walking these dang dogs. Too much reading not enough posting. You are all just so fascinating that I never have much to add.

  2. keldanker - Here's how to program your DVR. Point the remote at the screen and push buttons!! You'll figure it out!!

    I am - therefore I edit. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Hee! Thanks for the advice. :cryingwlaughter:

Toots, I think that is the likely case. I'm sure there has to be an extra charge for DVRing. The cable people don't like to give anything away for free that's for sure.

I just reread the schedule and it seems that the 8 p.m. showings are on Sunday after all. That's good if I miss it on Saturday. Heck, that's good even if I watch it on Saturday. I can watch it again on Sunday and then download it and watch it anytime I want. Not addicted. Nope. Not me. :whistling-1:

  3. for the super sekrit source screencaps!! Here in mid-atlantic suburbia, we get Kelly & Justin at 5 p.m. on 2 stations, and THEN we get NY auditions at 6 p.m. and at 8 p.m. on 2 different stations. Then 2 stations reair the NY auditions next week at 5 p.m. before showing the Miami/Detroit auditions at 6 and 8 p.m. Confused yet? I was really hoping for a Sunday airing somewhere because we are often busy with football games in the fall. Don't know how to work the DVR that I think is on my digital cable box and can't get the VCR to tape anything anymore. Thank goodness for super sekrit source clack.

  4. Unless the fan has a shit load of connections in hollywood, newspapers, television, entertainment then they are useless to Clay and everybody else Roger was involved with, uh no thanks.

And you know, I don't need Clay's publicist to be a Clay fan. I need them to do be damn good at their job. Like my cousin said, I don't have to like this shit, I just have to sell it. A clay fan? messy, emotional, not objective, and a crap load of baggage. No thank you. Can you imagine a Clay fan PR person having to rep for any other idol or singer? Oh I'm sorry, MNF, Daughtery is not available for that ..but here, you can have Clay Aiken! Oh you need a rock god to join the superstars of heavy metal tour? How about Clay AIken LOL.

You are absolutely right. I do think it might be a good idea if Clay had a personal publicist in addition to his RCA person. However, I had to laugh when I was reading elsewhere when someone suggested that a personal publicist should work for Clay and only Clay. It seems to me that a publicist would be selling a service and would have clients (multiple) just like a management company sells a service and has clients (multiple). I don't think some of these people understand how the real world works. In the end it is completely Clay's decision how to handle his career.

And I found out last night there are now two blogs out there exposing other fans. BWAH. Please lord, don't let me get this in my google alerts. What a bunch of loons. I'm trying to figure out where Clay fits in all this. Some of these people need to apply to be a CIA operative. Or get a life... one or the other.

    Good points Play.

And Jenna...I hope you're right. I guess I'm like ldyj..keeping expectations relatively low although..heh, Clay being pervasive? I like it!

I admit I don't often go wandering too far on the internet, but just what are these fans exposing about other fans? That they are in cohoots with swamp creatures? I just don't understand why anybody wants to get involved with that mess in any way. Or is it something else?

Idol Rewind: I'm excited to see what they do. I've only seen small bits of the Season 1 rewind.

  5. Maybe Clive is mad at Roger for getting Clay the insider gig which gave him and ET connection and pretty much killed all the gossip crap that Clive was trying to spread in his quest to destroy Clay and make Daughtry king?

:cryingwlaughter::cryingwlaughter:you know that Daughtery theory re: ALL IS WELL is my personal favorite.

But seriously, I can't tell if that is a promotion or a demotion. Handling publicity for American Idol - that billion dollar television show? Sounds like a promotion. But how easy is that...you just have to pick up the phone and say yes or no. <ok slight exaggeration LOL> Handling the Spice Girls reunion? Sounds like a demotion. Guess 19 wants an in to the American markets. Didn't a recent winner or runner up sign with 19? Sounds like a challenge though.....and hmmmm it pays way more than I'm getting ... heee back to work. But one less boogy man - so that's a good thing.

Whoa, back up the truck. I don't know about that theory. Sounds interesting....anyone care to expand on that one. :whistling-1:

  6. I'm glad Clay was able to go to his reunion. I've never been to one of mine. Moved away right after high school and the timing of the reunions just never worked for a trip back home at that time. We have lived no further than 20 miles from my dh's high school for years and he has never once been invited to a reunion. Not that he cares. Oops, have to go pick up dd#2 from dance practice.

  7. Your part in the fandom: how has it evolved? Do you consider it a hobby or an addicition? How much time do you spend on your fandom?

I think I'm less naive than I was in the beginning. And I worry less about him because I know that I have no hand in his career or his life other than buying his CDs and concert tickets. I literally made myself sick in early 2006 with worry -- had to step back from that.

I consider him a hobby. He makes me happy. I've had a lot of fun since I became a Clay fan (mate, babe, whore, bitch).

Probably an average of 3 hours a day, although I'm signed on for more than that in order to be able to check in quickly here and there throughout the day.

ETA: Okay, okay, its probably an addiction or maybe an obsession. I still consider him a hobby and maybe I'm just a little bit in love with him. Okay, more than a little bit. Shhhh, don't tell my dh. :eusa_whistle:

  8. That's harsh.....not :cryingwlaughter: About the other Xmas show/DVD. I must be the only one that did not care for it....sorry.... :ninja:

Sadly, for me at least -- your's is actually the popular opinion around here. I think only me and luckiest1 still watch that DVD every Christmas.

DAMN IT, I LIKED IT!!! And yes, I love Velveeta too. *g*

    Chat in 45 minutes.

Oh joy....just because I liked ACAC, I get cursed with the top of the page. Hooray!

Its not my favorite thing that Clay has done (far from it), but its Clay so I have watched it a few times.

  9. Canuck, how is it that you joined here 4 days after me and already have over 100 posts? Hee!

My post count is a misprint - I'm sure of it --- I can only remember posting about 10 times so I know it must be a misprint.

    :)

bookwhore :medium-smiley-070: (don't we have a smacking emoticon?)

I figured it was something like that. I'm just going to ignore that part about a smacking emoticon.

  10. In the parking lot of our local mall there is a snowball stand. Snowballs are a frozen concoction sold in the summer time consisting of ice, sweet syrup with or without marshmallow creme on top. Sort of like a snowcone, but it in a cup and you eat it with a spoon. I had never ever noticed the name of this place before today. DD and I are in the car leaving the parking lot when I suddenly notice the sign:

    Waldo's Snowballs

Cracked me up for a couple of minutes. DD was looking at me like I was crazy. Said that sign has always been there. Who knew?

    :cryingwlaughter:

Hee!! Isn't it the pits when people want to know why we're laughing??? You have to be pretty quick to think of a normal explanation!

    :RedGuy:

True. Now DD is a Clay fan, but she is only 15 and not really on the boards much. She may have known why I was laughing but I wasn't going there with her.
