I love Big Bang Theory! I didn't watch it when it first came on here but now they are showing an episode every night (sometimes three in a row)so I am lovin it!! (occasionally call one of the kids "Sheldor" if he wears a longsleeve tshirt under a short sleeve one - he is so impressed (not!)

Good luck with the wedding luckiest1; hope you live up to your screenname and all goes well!

Went shopping for a sofa last night and found one in our price range; had to come home and double check the measurements as we only have one spot in the living room for a couch. It will fit with a little room to spare so going back today to buy it. I have not had a couch in about two years, we have an old daybed now and as comfy as it is, it will be nice to have a real couch. I am excited!

We went shopping today too. Intended to buy a very reasonably priced (cheap) tv cabinet for the very reasonably priced TV that I bought on Friday. Yes we did that but then decided to just

have a look at some whitegoods........yes, walked out having bought a dishwasher and freezer. It will be great to have a dishwasher again after being without one for a couple of months in our new house.

Oh well, there goes a few pays that I don't have the "worry" of deciding what to do with!!!

We have just had a crazy month of audits at my work (a bank)- my job is mainly to make sure our district is following the procedures to pass these audits so this has been my testing time. Everyone

passed so I am taking a week off for the kids school holidays. I felt quite giddy with relief after work on Thursday, :twinklewhore: I was more stressed than I thought.

I was reaching for the Clay on the way to work each day without thinking so I should have realised that I subconsciously needed the calmness that his music brings to me.

  2. I GOT A RAISE! Whoo hooo. I wrote to my bosses last week because I felt like I was doing a completely different job from when I started and I didn't get the money to go along with it. And to my amazement they went beyond my expectations. When all is said and done it will be 10K more than last year.

Yesterday I had Because You Loved Me of all songs and Suspicious Minds on a continuous loop for about 2 hours LOL. I just had it going in the background while I worked. Love that voice.

I am so happy for you! We often undervalue ourselves. Good for your bosses to see your value to them and then back it up with cash!

Sounds like a lovely trip Luckiest.

  3. Tidbits Aikim? Absolutely love tidbits!

Castles in the sky? I Loove castles in the sky!

Speaking of which, I got the keys to my very own castle a couple of days ago!!!

Carpet was laid yesterday and the movers come the day after tomorrow. I am exhausted but am still making trips with the small stuff and

running on stress. Hey , I can sleep after next Thursday when I hand the rental house keys back right?

  4. I hear you about remodeling. We have a list we have kept for 20 years of future projects. We update it every five years or so. Of course I just thought of some major projects that will involve a lot of work which we can't do. I call these dream projects and they will never get done. It'd be a lot easier to move.

Oh I don't know about that Fear!

I am on the countdown to getting the keys to our new house- next Thursday!!! :twinklewhore::twinklewhore::twinklewhore:

I will be so glad to feel settled again. The last year has been so up & down. I have booked the movers for Monday week and contacted most of the other people such as TV, phone & internet etc etc (Hmm just thought of electricity- must get onto that!!)

I keep feeling like I have forgotten something but I think that is mostly just stress. This move should be more organised than the last one I hope!

Shortyjill - I read Captain Jack Sparrow as Captain Jack Harkness. He must be on my subconcious  Does anyone here watch Torchwood? Its an English show, a Dr Who spinoff, with the ever-lovely John Barrowman as Captain Jack. The new series starts here tonight.

  5. I Suppose I could say that I flew half way around the world to catch Clay in Spamalot. It wouldn't be quite true, since I was going anyway, but its all in how you look at it.

I did however meet up with someone from this board in Washington, get in their car (with Kids and DH in tow!), & have a wonderful day. (Sure did shock the kids though!)

:hello:ChaCha Trusty -haven't seen you here for a while!

Also hung around an alleyway (in NYC!!) eyeing up strangers until my rendevouz with Annabear & her Mum.

    :hello:Annabear!

We all know that the Schubert alley is a fine place but it sounds good telling my friends - dark alley, NYC, meeting strangers, country girl on subway at midnight all alone!

  6. I too love hearing what everyone is up to. I guess we have lots of gardeners here. I have all that ahead of me but I have the proverbial "brown thumbs" so maybe I should get some quotes for landscapers in case its all too much for me!!

    (it probably is ).

We have a handover date at last!! 14th July yay!!

I have dates and timelines and to do lists swirling around my head but I suppose it will all just get done over time.

I might go and google Chris Colfer, love him on Glee.

  7. Hooray to all enjoying the nice spring weather. Of course it is autumn here and today has been just glorious. The winter is when we have our best days. Today DH mowed and DS2 and I did some car washing, but now its football for them on TV and I am going to drink tea and read a bit and then cook a pork roast. A nice domestic day - now if only my own home would magically finish!!

  8. Hope everyone had a good Easter.

We were on a tropical island for a week and got back late yesterday. It was my first Club Med and we all had a great time.

The only thing is that today I went to my dining room and there was no giant buffet, no barman with cocktails...... :cry4:

Is there angst out there? Think I'll stay here and drink the kool-aide. Of course we don't get Kool-aide here so I'm having a cuppa tea instead.

And if anyone gets the shower hologram, then I'll join the OFC......I do like a good bit of..err..hygiene.

  9. (((Keeping))) Hope you're feeling better soon.

Sadly I can't make anything in my kitchen yet because the whole house isn't finished. It is a new build, not to lock up stage yet so we're still in our little rental.

It doesn't take much to get me excited - just the cupboards without benchtops had me :twinklewhore: yesterday!!

I usually stop in after work each day to see whats changed from the day before. DH says I'm weird but I'm sure I'm not the only one to have done this? I just tell him that I'm reeeaaallllyyy sick of this house where we are now.

    (edited twice for creative spelling)

  10. I think she's been told by a lot of people by now. :cryingwlaughter:I can't stand DWTS so I hope Clay doesn't ever go on there. :clay:

Since it's a little slow, hope you don't mind my sharing on main, but I LOVE making my own brownie bites. Anyone care for one? They turned out delish!

    picture1lflr.png

(And yes that's my own picture! hehe)

:meme: mmmmm brownie bites mmmmm....... squash one into an envelope for me shorty!

  11. ((( Couchie)))

I still check in here most days but haven't had time to surf around elsewhere.

Our new house is coming along. The bricks are half finished and the roof is done. I believe the internal wall board is going up later this week. I manage to go there most days and take photos - the kids are sick of the whole thing but I have regained my excitement.

The kids are going to a pop-culture and anime convention next weekend and I volunteered to make their costumes. What was I thinking! In fact thats what I should be doing right now but I am the Queen of procrastination. I am working on that with the help of Fly lady. Does anyone follow that site? I mainly read the forum now but it is still good motivation for me.

I am working more days now. The extra $$ (or should I say cents)come in handy with the ever-increasing costs of house building.

It is our 24th wedding anniversary today, hard to imagine, it has gone so quick. I was woken with flowers and chocolates so I can't complain. It has only taken 24 years to train DH that I like these things!!

I too hope that Clay is in NY on business as well as holiday. Not that I could come to see a new show, but it would be good if it was the right role for him.
