Maybe that's why it seems that some fans seem happier with 'this' Clay---not because we like him 'better' when he's all silly and campy and whatnot or because we approve or encourage anything, but because of the fact that he's free to be silly and campy and whatnot without feeling that he has to hide while doing it. And, at least for me, because it means that he has other people to talk with, to listen to, to learn from, to confide in about things without being condemned for who he is. Things that for 24 years he couldn't share with anyone.

I liked your whole post but this paragraph especially as it sums up how I feel. The bolded part exactly!! Thank you.

The thing that really filled me with hope for our land was the miracle of that plane landing and the pure truth that the pilot doing a superb job got a great result. What a great sign to the everyday man. The fact that other people working together were the second part of the miracle. I believe that pilot was a honest, hard working man all his life, and he took his responsibility so seriously that failure wasn't an option. Maybe God is trying to tell us something because that was a miracle in my eyes.

Wow! I was just having this conversation with my cousiin tonite before church! I said the very same thing about seeing the small glimpses of light/hope that seem to be being shown to mankind right now and we were using these same examples. That pilot and his landing was the bottom line for me. Thank you so much for saying it too as it just shows that many are seeing the same thing.

Just tells me that God is in his heaven and all is right with the world.

I wanted to tell you guys

today in the mail was my niece's Clay Spamalot poster.

Instead of being signed by just Clay the whole cast signed it :)

    BUT

Clay's signature is way up at the top alone

and everyone else is way at the bottom

This is SO way cool! What an awesome keepsake and how very kind of that man to get those signatures and remember to send it on to her.

  2. Jaycee, the distinction I see is that the Billboards made fun of people. The jokes were about putting people down. It was also homophobic. It was also on TV at a time when children could watch it.

The French Taunters are just being silly and mocking themselves. Monty Python is, to generalize, guy humor. The cast is almost all men. I'm pretty modest and I laughed and thought it was funny. I think they even tried to make each other laugh. Plus they warn parents that it's not appropriate for children under a certain age. If fans went there and were offended it's their own problem as they were warned.

TV and Broadway, very different things.

I won't try to convince you but I was shocked at Pink humping something or someone in prime time. MP I expected it to be very silly. That's what it's all about. My husband saw it three times and loved it. I think it gave him a lot more respect for Clay, who did a fantastic job.

    Very nicely explained.

That Pink performance made me give my head a shake. Most of the Billboard show was kind of offensive to me.

I have seen the monty python movies and therefore expected what was on stage on Broadway.

Although I will not be putting any expectations on Clay's behavior ever again - which I may have at one time. If I found out he was walking down the street naked somewhere I would just think - well, there he is surprising me again! Except I do of course expect him to sing to me again eventually!!

  3. That picture of Clay and the boys is fast becoming one of my favorites.

I think it is because I feel it shows me a glimpse of the real Clay - not the celebrity I always see really. Looks like a bunch of guys comfortable in their friendship, fooling around, being goofy, dressing silly. I can see them laughing and flirting and being outrageous with the whole cast and having a ball. Then posing for pics to laugh at again later.

Yes, I think I like it. Maybe next month I wont, but today it brings a smile to my face.

I am interested in a few things that are up for sale. Wow, quite a lot of stuff to get rid of. I don't know what I will do when the time comes for me to pare down the souvineers!

  4. Here is a review that liked the Rosie show. Said it will be a hit. Just in case anyone is interested.

I agreed with this part of the article:

    "

The break out star of the night was Ne-Yo, the hot hot hot R&B singer who’s written and produced hits for countless artists from Jennifer Hudson ("Spotlight") to Beyonce ("Irreplaceable"). His performance was totally live and unadorned, unusual these days. It was also so real and honest that he probably got a big boost for his album, called "In My Own Words." A star isn’t born, maybe, but found!"

I gotta go watch Clay again at the Parade. It just left me smiling. :)

ENJOY YOUR MEALS and and I hope you are all eating and sharing with loved ones today.

    hugs

  5. I LOVED seeing him!!!

    Best appearance in ages!

Boy, I really, really have missed seeing the real Clay Aiken and seeing him this morning was so terrific.

I liked the baby news interview too, and now seeing this one out in the busy world and him just yakking away, was pretty darn wonderful.

(I always hate the makeup, good grief) but am thanking God for the interview this morning.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to any of you celebrating today.

    :Pogo0:

  6. My problem with jokes about Clay being gay is that those jokes seem to be the only thing said about Clay. A joke once in a while would be fine if he got an equal amount of attention over his singing. jmo Anyway, it is what it is.

Gues who's the favourite replacement star????

:nana: He sure gets the kudos from broadway though!

Gotta get going but had to mention my huge mistake...

My son is a touch mad at me.

He is visiting in US staying at Planet hollywood. I asked him to find Clay's handprint at the Planet Hollywood restaurant on the wall and take a picture for me. He texted me "Where the heck are they?"

I tell him go to the restaurant and ask about the wall.

I was thinking if he is staying in the hotel, the restaurant must be there too, right? Wrong!!

He went to Vegas to planet hollywood and like an idiot I didnt see the distiction between LA and LV. D101!!

He drags his friends all over town to find the restaurant and lo and behold! no Clay handprints!! No wall of any prints!!

His text telling me there is "no such thing here" did NOT sound like a "have a good day mom" one. (sorry son)

    Poor boy. :cryingwlaughter: :cryingwlaughter:

Oh well, at least he has been all over Vegas dragging a few friends with him. They must think we Canadians are 2 bricks short of a load down there.

I gotta get going. Dont let me miss any good Clay news.

  7. Well, I finally watched the AH video. Clay seemed a tad serious/nervous in the quick glimpse we were given but I still hope he had a good time.

The really good thing is that the AH only named a very few of the people who attended and they showed even fewer. Clay was shown quickly a few times and actually mentioned by name as talking to whats-his-name who wouldnt have been mentioned at all if he hadn't been talking to Clay!

THAT is cool. Clay is a draw!

That "stance" pic of him about killed me!!!

  8. A 7 yr old boy, Jennifer's nephew, is missing from Jennifer's mother's home and an Amber Alert has been issued!

    More from EOnline here

Jennifer was supposed to leave for Japan to promote her album and is on her way now to Chicago.

    Sad.

Oh my God. I cannot even fathom something as horrible as this. My prayers are with Jennifer. How will she and her other family members manage to function with all this to deal with.

It will keep me awake tonite. May God bless them and bring that little boy home safe.

    It is more than sad.

eta: not sure if this is domestic violence or not, but it reinforces my prayers that Clay and his whole family be well protected. Thank God for Jerome and I hope they have other security on a 24 hr basis for the rest of his family. There are some sick minds operating out there.

  9. I posted my thank you to the clackgatherers on my other boards and want to say it here too.

    :F_05BL17blowkiss:

What would I do without you people!?

Between the awesome pictures, and "Everything I Don't Need" and "Right Here Waiting" I am just a mess. sniff.gif wub.gif

I know Clay was singing to the fans at the gala but I am telling myself that Clay was singing "Right Here Waiting" to us left here at home also. I hope the few fans who left are getting a chance to see this video and they will know he is singing to them.

I think we are stuck like glue to this guy - forever - and wherever he goes we will be here waiting for him also.

How touching is that man singing that song.

Thank God you people were there for him.

I have been glued to my computer downloading and watching.

OMG! The first screams on "Everything I Don't Need" and the huge reaction SMILE from Clay! Just kills me. He just LIT RIGHT UP!

I LOVE YOU GUYS who were there and just automatically screamed on the sexy "well-ell"

He just LIT right up. thank you!!

Then the way he sings "Right Here Waiting", it literally burns into my chest. wub.gif

Also - just wanted to mention - the guitar player behind Clay - he got such a kick out of the fans reactions. It certainly got his attention!

This must have been the first time these guys have played with Clay in front of a live audience? ? I bet they are trying to imagine what it will be like touring with him. People screaming at his every move and every sexy sound! I can't wait.

I am getting a real kick out of watching this guy watch Clay.

I am thinking there aren't many performers who would get that kind of reaction at a charity fundraising Gala. :cryingwlaughter:

I love Clay and I certainly love you guys for being there for him and for us.

I'm thinking my next couple weeks will be filled with watching that brilliant smile light up his beautiful face. It is a heartstopper.

  10. <snip>

It is not like he robbed a bank or something.

And if he did I hope he wasn't wearing a T-shirt with a picture of the Claynation on the front!!

Lying - ahhhhhhhhhh I would place money that I have lied more than once to "save face" during my lifetime when answering an unexpected question. I probably reqreted it afterward, but as someone said "do-overs" are hard to come by.

Unfortunate - but we are not all Saints.

YET I raised my kids telling them NEVER to lie!! Go figure...

maybe I was having a human moment.

maybe Clay has had a couple human moments in his life.

I know Clay has done more good for this world in his short life than I have or could do in 5 lifetimes.

I am glad he is human and I feel blessed to know he exists.

I pray everyone still having dealing problems finds comfort and peace within themselves.

    :hugs-1:

  11. By the looks of things that video is not available to Canadian IPs. Any chance someone could rip and bring it over? Or at least, precis? Scarlett? Anyone?

Darn it! Sometimes I hate living in Canada!

Not really but I wish I could access a Clay interview I have never seen.

I bet I am missing his cuteness!!!

ETA: OMG! that baby is too cute and to me he looks just like Clay. What a sweetie!!

  12. This one is quite interesting, and it has a video that I don't remember seeing before...

    mtv.com

Clay Aiken Flashback: We Asked that Question Two Years Ago and It Wasn't Pretty

. And for any Claymates who are going to ditch the singer because of his sexuality, take heart: There’s always David Archuleta …

    Good grief!

The video says "video not assessible" for me.

Is there anything worth watching on it that I am missing?

  13. Well, Clay said he was not gay.

He said in his GMA interview that people expect you are either a womanizer or you must be gay but that he was neither of those things.

Pretty clear statements in my mind.

Maybe he had not yet determined himself what his true sexuality was?

I imagine he will tell us "his story".

I think the baby looks just like Clay, but I think Clay looks like his mother. Not many see the same things that I see. :cryingwlaughter:

I did post him my support because of course I will always love and support him!!

    No question.
