  1. This is one of my favorite "Clay compared to Clay" songs. It's Clay's voice loud and clear in both, but the "moves" changed dramatically in 5 years! He's just so CUTE!!!

keeping... that was sooo much fun to see that comparison. Boy has he growed up good!!!!!!!

    I love a man with 2 feet!

merrieeee... BWAH!!! And, in spite of what Clay says about his dancing... he does not have 2 left feet. The picture says so!!!

2 feet is a bit much for me. 1' is plenty! :whistling-1:

  2. Well thankfully someone at CV offered me a pair so I took them. This is the most frustrated I have ever been on a ticket sale I think. To see everyone posting about how they are throwing tickets back because they aren't good enough and to be unable to complete any ticket purchase because I am Canadian.....ARGH. "Ain't too proud to beg" is all that is going through my mind today.

Sending a hug because I was online at CV watching your frustation and not even being able to help. Glad one of our American buddies was able to take care of you! Just because I'm not able to go, doesn't mean that I didn't share your angst! :friends:

  3. It's official! I'm employed!! And I had my choice of two jobs. Gotta love a company that lets you walk around with your ipod. The deciding factor was the health care plan. I'll get to go back to my old doctor who I haven't seen since I had to let my Cobra go.

Can't wait for the news... all the news like album drop date, tour, promotion and of course the special. whoo hooo

    Good for you!! :hugs-1:

  4. Just to pass the time, here's a cool story. One Christmas Eve (1970) James Taylor and Joni Mitchell stopped by to shop in a record store: Chapel Hill memories. They also went carolling with the Taylor family. (Read the comments for the memories of a few of the neighbors.) Be sure and also play the James/Joni duet of "You Can Close Your Eyes" on the player above the title. I know I've heard that before; I assume it was on an old album? There's also a photo there of a painting Joni did of James that Christmas season.

Wow, I really enjoyed this. Loved both Joni and James. Brought back some amazing memories for me too. Thanks!!!!

  5. I don't think we are necessarily waiting on Clay, because he said he wasn't going to be blogging the info. We are waiting on Team Clay to put the news up, I believe. They are probably waiting on International Media or whoever gives them the go ahead.

I'm just as antsy as everyone else, though! :)

I can't even go in March, and I'm still a nervous wreck!

  6. When Clay arrived on the scene he really did take me back to the time of singers who could just stand in front of a microphone and sing…a pure singer…a man and his voice…nothing else needed. I had this sense of finally…someone who can who show the world what real singing is…I love watching Clay sing as much as listening to him…just the way he gets lost in a song…his passion…his obvious love of singing.

Very much looking forward to this CD.

    Kim

I really enjoyed your post, Kim and totally agree.

luckiest1, I loved all the song choices, because they are from my own generation, but with Clay's voice the interpretation was very different from the originals. I must admit that my favourite song that he sang on Monday was "They Can't Take That Away From Me" which was a song from MY mother's generation , and even with needing a little help with the lyrics, he did it beautifully. Whoever requested and paid for that song has my undying gratitude. I would absolutely love a whole album of Gershwin from Clay. My dream is to hear him sing "Embraceable You", I would cheerfully to go my grave a happy woman then.

In other words, I'm safe for awhile, anyway. B)

  7. Bringing this forward from the last page for aikim.

    Thank you!

    Kim

I posted it at CV for you too, Kim.

ETA, Oops, I see you noticed!! LOL!

  8. Claymatron, thanks for clearing up the confusion about London! Hee, it always cracks me up that people have never heard of our London. It's not exactly back woods, LOL!

I know what you mean. I wasn't about to mention that I was heading into Stratford, or that would have really been confusing.

Glad you're enjoying the skating. The last time I went to Canadians was when it was in Hamilton and Elvis' final competition. In other words, some time ago.

I'm really excited about the new CD. Whether we actually know for sure that those are the songs chosen, or not, I know I'm going to love it. As you say, it's the voice, but it's also the man and the way he can sell a song. He's a super song salesman, that's for sure!!!

  9. luckiest1 did you all fly to London for the Championship? What fun! I love London! I love ice skating too. (well not me personally!)

Since luckiest1 isn't here, I will clarify. She's talking about London, Ontario, where she lives. They're holding the Canadian Figure Skating Championships there this week. The winners will represent Canada in the Olympics next month in Vancouver. :)

  10. '50s & '60s!

Hey, That's MY era. I know those songs.

My era too! Would love to hear him sing some Johnny Mathis stuff from the 50s....and the 60's...all that Burt Bacharach music and Motown...WOW!! This CD is going to make me feel young again! :yess:

cindilu2, for your sake I'll hope he doesn't do "My Girl", OK? ;)

  11. Still no news on the job situation. Yesterday the VP came by our area and joked about one of the answers to the questions I was asked in my interview. Then he left again. My boss told me to "hang in there" (hence my Facebook status these days). I'm told he cannot make any job offers until he deals with all the HR shit that he didn't deal with before the interview process. I'm hoping for some word (either yes or no) today or tomorrow so at least I can stop worrying about it over Christmas.

I hope you get news soon too, its really awkward trying to get anything done with all my fingers and toes crossed for ya! :)
