  1. Wow, this has just been the best birthday ever. It's been so exciting all day, and here I thought the most that would happen would be a twitter from someone who spotted our BF (with his BF) at the Champs-Elysées or some such.

Could the man be any more classy? Gosh, six years ago today, this was all just starting..him coming off Idol and us wondering if we'd see him again...who'd have thought my 60's would be the best years of my life?

:BlowKiss: Thanks for all the happy birthday wishes...they worked!!!!

  2. My comment wasn't directed at you, personally, either, muski. Just a general feeling of pissiness at some fan reactions on the boards that Clay shouldn't express his opinion, especially when it conflicted with theirs, and he should stick to singing. Agreed, probably the same people who complained that he never blogs and they weren't getting their money's worth on the OFC. Sigh!

  3. Shut up and sing? That hasn't been part of the Clay Aiken deal for a long, long time, if it ever was. It's incredible to me that so many people who beat the 'freedom of speech' drum when it comes to expressing their considered opinions on Clay are the first to say he should shut up. It would be laughable if it weren't just so damn sad.

Thanks for expressing what I was bursting to say but was too pissed to string the words together.

  4. Good morning, people. Interesting discussion this morning, I no longer watch AI because my DH got tired of me comparing every male singer, negatively, to Clay and I agreed..why waste my time? Whether or not Clay was gay was never an issue for me, but I sincerely believed that he wasn't. When anyone confronts me about his sexuality and why he would still appeal to me, I always say "He's gay, I'm not! He's still the best singer I've ever heard and he's always been gorgeous!"

I know I don't post often but I did post yesterday and no one responded, so I'm going to try again. If no one knows the answer that's fine.

Finally getting all my stuff organized on my new computer. Does anyone know if I can d/l Java safely with IE (Microsoft)? I read somewhere that Microsoft doesn't support Java since Dec. 2007. What does that mean?

Sorry to quote myself, but I know there are several techie types here because I know them personally. ;)

  5. EEEEEEEEE, I just picked up my VBOCA cd's (from Amazon.com) from the post office. I had also ordered "Crisis" and can't wait to start reading it. Am I the first Claynadian here to receive mine, from Amazon, that is?

The album quality is amazing and I'm really noticing a difference, especially in the background music, although it could be because I mostly listen to Clay in my car and right now I have him serenading me from my living room stereo.

Love the choices for this compilation too, it flows very well.

I'm just a happy camper right now!

  6. Just read this at CV.. The source was .... http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?.../e105353D85.DTL (you may need to copy and paste)

    Interesting last couple of lines....

Aiken judges aspiring models' acting abilities

Performer Clay Aiken says he thinks his "American Idol" experience helped contestants appreciate his comments when he was a judge in an episode of "America's Next Top Model" due to be aired Wednesday.

"It was interesting to be on the other side of the table and think of all these things that I went through in 2003," Aiken told The Associated Press in a phone interview, referring to the year he finished second to Ruben Studdard during the second season of Fox's hit reality show.

"I think the girls kind of appreciated that, the fact that I had been in a similar position," Aiken, 30, said in the Friday interview. "I was going to be a judge, yes, but be a judge who understood a little bit about what they're going through."

Aiken's stint as a judge and opposite the contestants in an acting scene airs Wednesday night on the CW Network. He said he was selected to judge acting because of his time in "Monty Python's Spamalot" on Broadway and because the competition focused on stage acting.

It also didn't hurt that the show's host and creator, Tyra Banks, has been a friend since Aiken appeared on her talk show in 2006.

Aiken appears with the contestants in a quick scene designed "to show their ability to act in a large and comedic way," he said. "A lot of the struggle for these contestants is to be able to come out of their shells."

He doesn't know who won the season, although he does know who gets voted off Wednesday. One clue is that the women who stay are "the people who are willing to be themselves and not worry," he said.

Aiken, who was famously remade during his time on "Idol," said he was out of his element for the fashion part of "ANTM.""I'm wearing a UNICEF T-shirt and University of Tennessee pajama pants," he said. "I can't judge that."

Except for a temporary gig in New York while performing on Broadway, Aiken has lived in Raleigh for the past three years. Right after "Idol" ended, he lived in Los Angeles, but was unhappy there.

Aiken demurred from answering any questions about his son, Parker Foster Aiken, who was born in August to his friend, Jaymes Foster, and was conceived by in-vitro fertilization. Her brother, music producer David Foster, told AP Radio last week that Aiken is a "spectacular father" and Jaymes is "a natural mother."

Aiken's recording contract with RCA has ended, and he said he's considering other labels, while also looking at stage and television offers.

"All three look enticing, and I'm in the luxurious position of letting them sit down and come to me," he said

  7. Claynadians.....FYI, I got an email this morning basically cancelling my order for TVBOCA. :cry4::cry4: I don't for the life of me understand why they would advertise for sale, something they can't sell....????!!!

I tried to order from Amazon.ca Monday and they said it was "not available" (this after getting an email from them a week ago suggesting I order it) , so I ordered from Amazon.com instead. Got an e-mail yesterday saying that it's already been shipped from the U.S. so I'm glad I did what I did.

  8. Daniel was the bass player *sigh*, but he wasn't the musical director. Andy Abad was the musical director for both the JBT and the JNT2005. (In between the two tours, his wife had a baby...) And yes, the JNT2005 was the year of the vignettes and William Joseph on piano.

ETA: FromClaygary, is this the guy you're thinking of?

Oh, good, I thought I was another Alzheimer victim there for a moment. I thought it was either Andy or Daniel (although, of the two I was thinking Daniel)...and I remember Andy's wife having a baby girl and Clay being all excited about that.

Thanks for clearing that up, it would have bugged me all day!

  9. For the life of me, I can't remember the name of the guitarist in Clay's band who at that time was his musical director as well....anyone? Aaargh!!

Daniel Pearson or Andy Abad, maybe? I think it was Daniel, but not sure.

Nope....I can just SEE the guy but can't remember his name! Talk about Alzheimers......

    Thanks, though!! :BlowKiss:

Hmmmmm! Was he with Clay during any other tour? I can't remember any other guitarist being musical director. Not that I'm an expert on Clay's bands, or anything, but now you've got me curious. Was that the year of the vignettes...with William Joseph, or am I totally confused here?
