  1. And I just have one other thing to say: Nabba dabba dabba doobie...doobie scoobie doobie scooba...Nabba dabba dabba doobie...doobie scoobie doobie scooba... and scooba dabba doobie DAB!!

    See? It's catchy, isn't it?

    LOL

CM comes in whistling.... :whistling-1:Good morning, starshine. The earth says "hello", you twinkle above us, we twinkle below....

Whatever made me think of that!!! :cryingwlaughter:

  2. Sending hugs to you, FromClaygary, because I've also had an oven mishap recently (an exploding baked potato, actually!)

... and I agree with cindilu that it was FromClaygary's idea about the signs with Clay so she should definitely get first dibs. Thanks for pursuing the idea, Playbiller, that's very, very nice of you! You and Scarlett rock and I thank you both for caring!

  3. So.... his Rosie appearance was too short/Broadway/gay... his parade appearance was too much makeup and ugly hair, and his upcoming ET piece isn't going to be right either. Using Parker? Allrighty then.

Seriously. This is the gist of what you get if you read around the boards (here included). Sure, there are a fews gahhhs and awwws thrown in, but the mood? Blah.

What ever happened to just enjoying him? I know - people post and talk about what they want to. That doesn't change the fact that it sucks. He's once again being picked apart more relentlessly than the Thanksgiving turkey. Blah.

Not by me, I think he's just beeeeoootiful, and talented and sexy! I loved him on the Rosie show, I thought he was wonderful and candid in the parade interview and I look forward to seeing him on ET, no matter what he talks about. There could be a bit of a drought after the Golfing for Inclusion Tournament in January, and I'm savouring every single glimpse of him until then....and ever after!

    :lilredani: How's that??

  4. Good morning , everyone.

Hope all our American friends had a lovely Thanksgiving. I think I gained a few lbs. just reading the recaps!

Love seeing all these wonderful after-party and parade interview pics of our boyfriend....and Yay for someone solving the Yellow Sweater Girl mystery!

For those of you who posted advice about my faulty Roxio CD maker program, I thank you. I went into Staples yesterday and talked to one of the young techies in there. He advised me to make sure my CD burner was OK before I replaced my Roxio software, which is not returnable. Recommended that I burn a CD using Windows or iTunes (both of which are already in my computer....WHO KNEW???) I thought the burner was the Roxio equipment, didn't realize they were two separate entities! D101!

So, I came home and successfully burned a CD using the Windows Media Player. Whew!...at least, it's not the burner!

I've also (so far) transferred 10 gb of Clay stuff onto my new external harddrive, thereby freeing up the same amount of space on my computer!

Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks!?! :hysterical:

Next lesson, setting up our new Kodak EasyShare M1033 to transfer the photos to my computer. (Took us a whole afternoon to figure out how to set the date on the darn thing, but everything else has been easy!)

  5. I did notice (I think)...and I'm probably being really picky here.....that when she was acknowledging people in the finale, pulling the names out of the air as they finally came to mind.....I did not hear her say Clay Aiken. Maybe I missed it....definetely an oversight I think.

She probably just sent him a text! :whistling-1:

Personally, I thought the show needs some work, but a live show is tough. Clay was terrific, totally at ease and I think he helped Rosie to relax a little too. I think the plug for Spam was perfect too, but I agree with whoever said it was strange for him to look like Sir Robin but sound like Sir Clay. Whatever...I loved it.

At the very least, any show where Conan gets a pie in the face is OK by me! :cryingwlaughter:

  6. I'm not an expert, Claymatron, but I do know one thing to check. You want to make sure that your CD burner drive is working (unless the external drive is also your CD burner drive). First, let me say that Roxio is your burning software, the term burner is usually used for the hardware that does the burning. Is a MyBook a Mac? If so, I know nothing. (But what you want is something that lists your drives.) If you have a PC, go to My Computer and see what drives you have listed. Normally the CD burner drive is D: and it should have something to the left of it describing the burner. (Mine says DVD-RW Drive.) If that's there, then it's probably a software problem. If that's the case, one possibility is to reinstall that software. See if there's a disk that came with your computer that is just for the Roxio. If there is, reinstall it. If you don't have a separate Roxio disc, then you might have to call the people who sold you the laptop and see if they can help. Or wait for someone who knows more than I do.

Thanks! My CD-RW drive is Drive E and the My Book is Drive F (and not a Mac). My computer is pretty old actually, so I'm not sure I still have the installing disc for the Roxio, but I will look.

Can you tell I'm not a techie?

  7. Liney, thanks...

Thanks to you too, luckiest1 for the help today on finding the lovely Christmas audio downloads. However, I have a problem. Before I set up my external harddrive today, I tried accessing my CD burner to add all the new songs to my existing compliation and got the following error message....

"Easy CD creator engine has failed: (Could not load CDR4)"

I thought maybe it was because I was so low on space, so after I installed the external harddrive and transferred some files, I tried again, but it still isn't working. Anyone have any ideas what I might have done wrong? I burned a CD successfully the other day, but today, nada! (my burner is a Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Basic)

    Any experts out there?

(The My Book external harddrive is functioning very well, incidently, and because the problem occurred before I installed it, I don't think this had anything to do with the CD situation.)

  8. Thanks, luckiest! :thbighug-1: Will see if I can find an audio for WTOW from Merrillville! What you've given me is plenty of help and I have a CV vault key so I'll just see what they have.

Love the banner, cindilu! That is one yummy looking man and affords us another opportunity to be thankful that we have him in our lives.

  9. Good morning, good people!

I need some help. I am making a compilation Christmas CD of Clay's music for some of the people I work with and am stuck.

I would like the best audios for the following songs from concerts so that the quality is on par with the rest of the CD.

Celebrate Me Home (right now I have audio from the Vancouver show, is there a better one?)

Good News (I have no idea where to start with this one.)

Welcome to Our World (have the Kalamazoo show on this one, but there might be a better one)

goldarngirl and luckiest. I have finally invested in an external harddrive. (YAY ME!). It's a My Book from Western Digital (500 gb). Haven't tried to install it yet, but will be doing that today. Wish me luck! (I'm down to 2.20 gb on my computer, and with Clack tonight and tomorrow, that ain't enough!)

Any help, or suggestions with the CD would be greatly appreciated.

  10. cindilu, so glad it went well today! I was thinking about you all day! :thbighug-1:

Well, except for those few hours that I was thinking about Clay :whistling-1: ...but you were in the back of my mind too....honest!

Would also like to add my opinion on those who are unhappy, but will not leave. I was reading some of the other boards and people being upset about Jimmy Kimmel's joking last night. You get the impression from some that it's OK for Clay to be gay, as long as no one talks about it, refers to it, or, God forbid, makes light of it. There are a lot of ostriches out there, still! The man has not changed, but some people's perception has. To put it crudely...I really wish they would either shit or get off the pot.

  11. From Claygary and Scarlett... thanks for the offer! Will work on something ASAP!! How much do you think we should offer for the photo?

Re the price of the photo....I'm not sure we'll have an option....I believe they have been $100 for Clay, right?

That's fine with me. Do you think we could just have a photo of him holding our photo and a "Hi, Bev!" (in my case, of course)? That would thrill me to pieces! (Close as I'll ever get, as well!)

  12. I just got home from work and opted out of a staff meeting tonight. Driving conditions are horrible and I could hardly see the road...snow covered and icy. Of course, I live in the boonies so it's par for the course for me anytime after November to April.

Luckiest, e-mail me the questions from your son and I'll have my son look at them...unless you're looking for non-Canadian (or Ontario) police officer answers.

From Claygary and Scarlett... thanks for the offer! Will work on something ASAP!! How much do you think we should offer for the photo?

My grandkids and I listen to The Ugly Duckling frequently. Did I ever mention when I spoke to my 10 year old granddaughter about Clay's coming out, she explained that she talked to her mom about it and said "At first I thought maybe Grandma was going to be upset, and then I thought...."Nah, this is Grandma and she wouldn't stop loving someone just because they're a little bit different!" "

Gotta love a child who's that perceptive.

  13. Going to repeat my request of a few days back now that Clay is (maybe...) back and going to be doing pictures:

Is there anyone who will be at the show during the BC/EFA run that would be willing to take a small sign to the show for me, for Clay to take a picture with? I just want a picture of him with my sign, which would say "For Lori" or something like that. I have Paypal to send you the money.

ETA: Dorky I know, but it's the nearest I'll ever get.

I think this is a fabulous idea - and more money for BC/EFA too. If somebody will adopt us, I'd love one too. I bet they'd think it's a cool idea too.

    Me too, great idea!!

  14. I think it's plain silly (using 'silly' cuz it's a Spam-type word, when what I really mean is 'fucking ridiculous') to assume that the mood of the entire audience is dictated by the few board-related fans that are in the audience at any given time. In the microcosm of my 17 times seeing the show (14 + 3) there were times when it was more lively than others - and two occasions (one from each run) when the audience was decidedly dead. I don't think the 'dead' times had anything to do with Clay whatsoever. The opening/closing weekends were a force of nature. Why does the board-dom insist upon reading Something (capitalization intentional) into every. freaking. thing?

AaaaaaaaaMEN! (as sung by Bro Maynard) Board-dumb is more like it!

    BTW....... :DoClay:

  15. Awww, sorry you got so much of the white stuff, luckiest1! :console: Fortunately, we were spared this time. There's a light dusting out there, but it's not sticking. Whew! I'm sure it wouldn't have happened this way if I hadn't changed my shift to tomorrow.

Thumbs up on the "best of" Gala montage! You guys are great, don't know what I'd do without ya! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

ETA: heinz, I'm surprised you aren't outside playing with them!! :whistling-1:

  16. Hey Canadians, have you seen the weather forecast? Eeep! Must remember to get the snow shovel out of the back shed when I get home from work!

I was supposed to work tomorrow morning, with Thursday off, but I traded my shift and will now work Thursday instead. I live in the country and if we get the white-out conditions they're forecasting, they'll close the roads around here, so I didn't want to take any chances. I'm soooo not ready for this!!!!
