  1. rohdy, thanks so much for posting the Kalamazoo update. For those who don't know, I posted on the Canadian thread at the CB that I met the Kalamazoo Director of Business and Volunteer Development when she and her husband dropped into my wine kiosk awhile back. Talk about an incredibly small world.... when I asked where she was from, because we get a lot of Americans in our town, she said Kalamazoo, MI and I mentioned that I'd been there for a Clay Aiken concert in November. She looked at her husband and then told me that she was co-ordinating the distribution of the books that were donated by the fans. She asked if I was one of the busload of Canadians who came for the concert and I, of course, said yes and that we had also contributed to the book collection. She was a delightful lady and I was so pleased to meet her. I thought she said there was going to be a section of the library for them, but I found out that that was just where they were being stored for the moment at that time.

Anyway, long story...sorry... but as I said, it's a small world and something else that makes me so proud to be part of the Claynation.

  2. I just want to get one thing clarified here. Iseeme is a dear friend, a business associate (my assistant bow-tier) and though I love her dearly, I only sleep with Bella19. Call me a one woman, woman, but that's the way it is. So Scarlett, your love affair with Iseeme's large tracts of PB is safe from me. Besides I have a pretty good collection myself...one that would have Muski positively drooling.

    Now for the questionaire:

    1. Your part in the fandom: how has it evolved? Do you consider it a hobby or an addicition? How much time do you spend on your fandom?

I think it's a hobby, but my family thinks it's an addition. Whatever, it keeps me out of trouble and makes me happy.

    2. What would you considered a "blowtorched puppy" -- in other words, what could Clay do that would make you stop being a fan?

I don't think Clay is capable of doing anything that would turn me against him or stop me from being a fan.

    3. How do you feel about "shipping Clay?" Why do you feel that way?

I don't really speculate on Clay's love life (except with a much younger me). Maybe that's why I have no objection to Jaymes, IIT.

    4. How does Clay combat the tabloid media?

If I knew the answer to this, I'd give up the bow-tying and become his publicist!

    5. Should Clay be a "superstar?" A "pop star"? An "entertainer?" Or all of the above? Does he really have to choose?

I'm not sure he's settled into his niche yet, so I'd say "entertainer" pretty much covers it. I want him to do what he wants to do, not what I want him to do.

    6. How do you feel Clay's voice has evolved over the past 4 years?

Smoother, richer, more controlled. From "Wow, that kid's got a great voice!" to "Wow, that man can sing anything!"

  3. CM - don't you DARE give my job away! I said NOTHING about the job - just that you had coughalotcough in common. I'm hurt. :naughtywag: And my backup job with you definitely predates my ummmm relationship with Scarlett. And besides, if grabbing isn't allowed, I wouldn't trust that Muski person! (if you know what I'm saying) The sweetsingerman is verra verra particular about that as you well know.

OK, OK, I was just funnin' with ya. If you think I'm willing to train someone else in the fine art of tying a bow that stays in place through a whole concert, you have another think coming. :thbighug-1:

Thanks JMH....my son said his grandma was inconsolable. At least her neighbors are with her until the family can get there. The other sad part of this story is that my ex husband and his wife were retiring there at the end of the month and had been moving alot of their possessions in to the house pending building their own on the adjacent property. So it's really affecting the whole family. Some of my son's earliest memories in life were at his grandma's. It's just so sad. Doesn't mean the place will burn, but if they're evacuating people it doesn't look too good.

Hopefully, it'll be OK and it's just a precaution. If they can get her out safely though, that's the biggest thing. Darn shame though.

  4. Muski - you and Claymatron are a match made in heaven! Trust me! And I mean that in the kindest possible way. Not sure about her photobucket but her imagination will make up for whatever pictures she doesn't have.

Iseeme, does this mean you willing to let Muski be my back-up bow tier? I had thought that job was yours and yours alone, but seeing that you belong to Scarlett and have Claygasm on a string in the wings now, I guess the job's up for grabs (if you'll forgive the pun! :whistling-1: )

That pic was v. nice, but this one's even better... he has a BEARD, almost. :beatingheart:

Speaking of suits and what makes them happy..(cough)... 0-5.jpg:hubbahubba:

ETA: Hope your MIL is OK, Iseeme!!

  5. Clayzedover, excellent post. You expressed my thoughts perfectly.

djs111, I really liked this, and completely agree.....

No matter what the truthiness of the TMZ and people stuff, I can't see "scandal" no matter how squinty-eyed I look at it; the scandal is the violation of privacy.

I'm a newbie but I really like the maturity and thoughtfulness of this board. You don't always agree, but you're each respectful of other's opinions, (even if, in your mind, you think they're full of crap)! :whistling-1:

Me, I like Clay's butt, and his nose, and his eyelashes, and his fingers, and the hair on the base of his neck, and his BEARD (takes a moment...), but I'm a frontal girl, so best of all, I like his big red bow...

  6. Awww Lotus, I am sorry. I don't have that particular picture in my pb account. I thought it was posted in this thread early on but couldn't find it. Im sure someone will have it. Anyone?

CM.....now explain to me just how a penis could open a jar??? Is this a Canadian thing? :cryingwlaughter: By the way, what color of bow did he wear while he was in Somalia? I mean with those white pants....red might have been a little obvious.

No, no, my dear, I said a penis is attached to a jar opener! Get it!?! The implication being that that's what men do best....ummm, nevermind!

No bows in Somalia, too hot....and so were those white pants...hawt, that is!!

Waldo adjustment? Oh, you meant bow adjustment? Thanks laljeterfan

    ETA: Iseeme :lmaosmiley-1:

  7. And definitely not trying to one-up the deer stories because I can't think of anything better than deer in the backyard but, this morning, I got a picture of a moose that was hanging out in ours. Boy, those are some ugly animals. Quite strange that all that lumpy weight can effortlessly clear a 6 foot fence.

I always figured God was trying to design the horse when he made the moose...it is definitely an "oops" animal. No idea what He had in mind when He made the lobster?? They're both good eating though, so maybe that was the intention all along.

Hmmm, nope, never used a penis to install a doorknob (aren't penises usually attached to jar openers?). I have used an electric drill to remove a cork from a bottle though, (in keeping with my earlier wine theme) and impressed the hell outta my host and hostess. Motto..always make sure to take a corkscrew with you if you're giving wine as a gift.

Clay content...I must rememer this if I ever visit Clay. I'm sure he doesn't have a corkscrew...and probably not an electric drill either. However, he does have a penis, which I'm sure has plenty of good uses... I bet he can open jars! :hubbahubba: !

  8. Well, it would take a lot more than a heated discussion to chase this newbie away...unless, of course you were disagreeing with ME..or saying anything nasty about our man! :cryingwlaughter:

For those who didn't understand the wine test thing. I've been retired for 4 years but decided I'd like to take a part-time job to help with finances (and pay for future Clay excursions) Anyway, I was hired at a Wine Shop in April. I love the job and I love wine, so it was a perfect union. However, one of the requirements of the job is, within three months, you must pass a written test consisting of 50 questions...and passing mark is 85%. The shops are owned by a conglomerate of Niagara wineries and the test is about the wine industry in general and Ontario wines and wineries specifically...and we're presented with a book containing the information. Sounds easy, right? Well, it wasn't. The questions were designed to trip you up and, though they were multible choice, several answers could apply to each question, but only one was the answer they'd accept. I was sure I flunked because many others have blown it in the past. However, yesterday I got word that I am now an official "Wine Merchant". In other words...I passed that sucker!! Whew! (Sorry about the long winded explanation).

    Happy birthday, Muski!

Happy 4th of July to all you lovely American folks!

  9. Couch Tomato, you are a cool lady! I think I love you! :thbighug-1:

muski :It's not the hair in the sNOflake shot, it's his face! He doesn't look well to me!

I think he looked gorgeous, but maybe you could sense that a couple of days later the Kripa-bitch will take her swipe at him!

cindilu...thanks for the beautiful wallpaper, as usual. :F_05BL17blowkiss: I've started with the funny one, but I know I'm going to switch sometime this month because the loving one is so beautiful.

When he's with us, I breathe easier, but the point is, I still breathe when he's not around, so it can't be that big a deal. I just look forward to those easier breathing days somewhere in the future....it's all good, at least as long as I keep breathing.

What happened to the "I wanna do Clay" emoticon????

:DoClay: ...Oops, um, found it! (tm Sir Robin)

  10. cagney, your comment about your DVD Mother's Day gift reminded me of what I got one year from my kids when they were teenagers. Two tapes..... Supertrap - "Crime of the Century" & Pink Floyd - "Dark Side of the Moon". That was back in the day when I was considered a "cool" mom. Now that I'm a Clay fan, they wouldn't dream of getting me a CD of his music...even if I didn't already have 6 extra copies! Obviously, it is them who are no longer "cool". :whistling-1:

I think Jaymes looks more pregnant in the first picture than she does in the second. Of course it could have something to do with the skillful placement of her shopping bag.

I agree about TMZ.. sleeze in it's lowest form! :angry2:

  11. I GOT THE JOB!!!! I'm soooo excited!!! I know this isn't earth-shattering news but I'm really pretty happy about it.

You go, girl!!! Good for you!!! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

I think it was NAT when he and all 3 backups were sitting on stools and singing.......at least that's how I remember it!!!

I remember him hamming WINY up a couple of times too.

"When I need YOU, I just close my eyes and I see YOU!" It was quite funny, actually!

  12. I absolutely adore Something About Us (it's tied with EIDN as my one of my two favourites on the album). To me it's a musical full-body massage....soothing, satisfying and very sexy. Love is corny and cliche. How can you describe it any other way?

I love when he sings "a fool can see, we're meant to be" The hair on the back of my neck stands up when he sings "fool". (GAH!!!)

The lyrics, "stop the music, play the song" to me means lets get away from the generalities and get to the specifics. This is a love song, pure and simple, it's not meant to be interpreted any other way. I think one critic mentioned somewhere along the line, it's the kind of song that makes people who don't have, or have never had, this kind of relationship really pissed off with people who do.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones!

  13. Hee I've been to both Londons! I saw Maggie Smith in Stratford (Ont) as Lady "Scottish Play" and fell asleep!! :cryingwlaughter:

I live in the country 20 minutes from Stratford (Ont) and work in two wine stores located there. In summer the place is alive with tourists for the Festival. As a matter of fact, my DH and I just saw "Taming of the Shrew".....didn't fall asleep, but we left after the first act, which was an hour and half long. It was good, but we both had to work the next day and we already knew how it ended...otherwise it would have been called.."Will He Ever Get Along With That Cranky Bitch?" !

Good luck with getting the job, Iseeme! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

eOCA, could be enthusiastic Ontario Clack Addicts, or, in the case of goldarngirl, luckiest1 and cindilu2, energetic, efficient or exceptional.

    Have I mentioned lately... :DoClay:

  14. On a lighter note:I have a question...stupid though it may be......what's all this stuff about "titanium balls" and "too tight bows"???? I'm really out of the loop on this one.

It had to do with one of the fanfics on CV. We were bored waiting for the new chapters so we entertained ourselves. I was the official bow tier (think...ClayFormal-1.gif) for Clay's concerts (Iseeme was my backup) and we used to post pics and write captions for them. For instance...

    Clay_Ohhhhhhhh.jpg

"CM, if Ah've told you once, Ah've told ya a million times,

please warm up your hands before ya tie that thing on, will ya?"

  15. I can’t understand why anyone would want to deny him a close friend.

Who is denying him a close friend? I haven't seen that anywhere on any board. I think there are more than two people in Clay's rarefied air......

All I want is for him to be happy and have love in his life, whether it's for now or forever, it doesn't matter to me...and whoever provides that for him is OK by me.

And I'm willing to teach her how to tie this... ClayFormal-1.gif

    :whistling-1:

  16. Oh my God, can you imagine the money they would make if they put Clay on a Christmas card?

Hee, and can you imagine the number of us who would all be displaying the same cards we received from our Clay friends?

I'm trying to find a map of south-western Ontario so I can illustrate the elephant....but somehow Clay in Somalia, or anywhere else for that matter, is a whole lot more important.

    :7:

  17. Anyone within the elephant is part of SW Ontario in my books, so FromClaygary squeeks in there by a hair (actually by a back foot)!! :cryingwlaughter:

OMG, I've lived here my whole life and never noticed the elephant, but I see it now...thank you Google maps! :cryingwlaughter:

No offense to anyone who lives there, but Owen Sound has always been known as the elephant's ass hole.

For those of you Americans who don't have a clue what we're talking about. Look at a map of south-western Ontario and turn it 45 degrees. Voila, the shape of an elephant!

On the next topic. Yay for Clay in Somalia! Did I mention I love that man!

  18. After reading the linear notes again.... from ATDW, I can see him thinking of/singing this to her.

The only thing I could see in the liner notes on ATDW was Executive Producer Jaymes Foster for Peak Productions. Did I miss something? Oh, and he dedicated When I See You Smile "For Kristy!" ?????

    Clay's thanks on ATDW....

"Jaymes Foster how we ended up on the same page at the same time in each other's lives, I may never understand. What I do know is that I'm thankful daily that God saw fit to introduce me to someone as talented, wise and genuine as you. That you believe in me enough to take on this project with me and stick with it through so much has been one of the biggest blessings I've been given..but not as big as the blessing of having you as a trusted and indispensable friend."

  19. Hee, I think the London group needs an acronym or something. I had suggested Famous Ontario Posse before, but it doesn't really have a great ring to it....FOP. :cryingwlaughter:

How about the London Or Vicinity Entourage.... sorta The "LOVE" brigade? Too much?

May I add my 2 cents about TRM? First of all, I'm a lyrics person, so it doesn't matter to me how great a song's melody is if I can't relate to the lyrics. This song, as I confessed to my friend, Bella19, started off almost invasive to me. Like I was eavesdropping at a confessional...and it disturbed me. I felt ashamed to be a fan who would inflict that kind of pain on someone because I was taking it completely from Clay's perspective and thinking he was referring to the fans when he had to put on a mask. The plaintive sound of his vocals at the beginning of the song were breaking my heart. Then I realized as the song progresses, it was really more about hope and growth and when he sings about "loosening my grasp" I realized he was, as he puts it... letting go, and letting God.

It took me awhile, but now I hear it entirely differently, but I still love EIDN (which I play over and over), SUA and ALAWH the best.

  20. One of my favourite funny moments was at Sterling Heights last summer when Angela started talking about not feeling well due to "the other thing" (obviously female problems) and Clay was almost speechless (which for him is rare), then he complained that the men who didn't want to come to the concert in the first place would now really regret it. I loved watching him that night. Tucked-in shirt, tight pants with a belt...jacket off when he got the "spirit of Weezey".

Can you tell that I love this guy???

    Ajackettoss-Detroit.jpg

I also love the expression of some of the folks in the orchestra in this one.

I was also at Williamsport and got to talk to Bridget about fondling Clay's leg the night before...... told her she was a shameless hussy...and asked her what was the secret of her success?

Waves to luckiest1 who was with me for both the above concerts!!
