I own the same sweetshirt & also one in grey

    How about a picture?

    can't post it here

Don't want you owning my likeness in case I become famous one day.

So are you Scarlett & Scarlett1?

do you think there will be people upset that Clay is going to be giving this award? I am not but I remember reading some people were worried that the OFC would turn into a gay eccentric board.

  2. This is from the OC...not sure where they got it from, but I like the sweatshirt:

I own the same sweetshirt :) & also one in grey

Here are news about the Gladd awards

LOS ANGELES -- For the third year running, ABC leads nominees for awards from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. The network earned six nominations for the 20th annual GLAAD Media Awards, with Brothers & Sisters, Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty among its contenders.

The awards recognize fair and inclusive portrayals of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and issues affecting them.

"How our lives are portrayed in the media doesn't make a bit of difference, it makes all the difference," said GLAAD president Neil G. Giuliano.

The organization announced its 185 nominees in 41 categories Tuesday.

CBS earned four nominations and NBC nabbed two. Nominees for feature film in wide release include Brideshead Revisited, Milk, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, RocknRolla and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

"The nominees this year prove that the stories of LGBT Americans are interesting, compelling and will touch not only LGBT audiences, but broader audiences as well," Giuliano said.

Special prizes will be presented to Tyra Banks and Suze Orman. Banks will receive the Excellence in Media award, and Orman will receive the Vito Russo award.

The GLAAD Media Awards -- which also recognize magazine and newspaper content, theatre performances, advertising and Spanish programming -- will be presented at three separate ceremonies: in New York on March 28, in Los Angeles on April 19 and in San Francisco on May 9.

  3. or maybe it was the grown-up children of the corn...

KAndre, well we agreed that the corn on the cob in Vermont is the best in the entire world. Nice banner, 00lsee!

I read KAndre post 4X and don't understand it. Of course I am from New England & never saw the Children of the Corn movie so that maybe why.

But really, the corn on the cob was to die for. I'd drive coerce convince someone to drive to Burlington, Vermont just to taste that corn again. I would have hung around that booth all evening if there hadn't been a concert. Oh, and I loved the throwing of the mikestand.

Come to thinking it, running off to Vermont became an ehP catchphrase around that time...

Did he throw the mike stand for Back for More?

I will send you some corn :)

I also remember a clip of Clay sitting at a piano saying something about the lady in 4th row (?) didn't sit down when she was taping him. She said "We want to see you when we get home" and Clay said "the people behind you can't see me now!"

Clio JBT. There is a ton of clack. There was some misunderstanding about who he was talking to but once she finally got it capped (it was an old 8mm camcorder), I think we can put it to rest that he was talking to Murah15 from the Shed. You can hear her arguing back with him in her footage. It's kinda rough because she couldn't cap it using windows movie maker and had to use the camcorder's program, so it skips frames.

Looks like they never got it up at Clack Unlimited (it was almost 2 yrs before she got it capped)

I'll go d/l from CV and make a sendspace.

ETA: Well, I would if I could but I'm getting the dreaded white screen over and over.

here I thought for sure it was you Canfly

so this is what Clay is doing

Tyra Banks: Well, we are back in NYC for Cycle 12, and this season is fiercer than ever — seriously! The girls are actually put up in an apartment on the Upper East Side — which is so Gossip Girl! We have a really strong and unique mix of girls. There's also some very special celeb appearances — Clay Aiken, a close friend of mine, will actually pose as a designer, and Ciara will be making a cameo as well. And the final runway is beyond exciting — let's just say it was the most slippery walk-off yet.

    can't even imagine.

  4. Another favorite is the NAT in Vermont when Felix called it a city and Clay could not for the life of him keep a straight face for WDC. Side-busters!!!

that was hilarious and one of my favorite concert moments too. That was a really weird audience to be a part of IMO and that whole thing seemed to be the great thaw. I think it all depended on where you sat though... on our side of the aisle the ushers worked very hard to keep us in our seats and sitting down.

Why was it a weird audience to be part of ?

I have seen that clip & it was cute & funny. The audience was so nice, loud & into the show. Surprised the ushers tried to keep people sitting down. Most concerts people stand up.

I also remember a clip of Clay sitting at a piano saying something about the lady in 4th row (?) didn't sit down when she was taping him. She said "We want to see you when we get home" and Clay said "the people behind you can't see me now!"

how I wish I had gone to those early concerts. They looked like so much fun. I never had money and/or didn't know about the concerts until after they already happened. I still don't have money I just go anyway :)

  5. This season, eliminated American Idol finalists will have a former winner sing them back home. Carrie Underwood, who has long had a thing for hair-metal power ballads, has recorded a cover of Mötley Crüe’s 1985 hit Home Sweet Home that will accompany the show’s goodbye montages, starting Wednesday. The track will be sold digitally, available exclusively at iTunes through March 16 and everywhere else after that. A porton of the proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of the United States.

  6. I forgot that Canfly was from Canada although there is a way that people from different countries can vote (not legally). Some David A. fans were trying to teach people last year. Some even offered to buy people go phones if they voted for him.

Scarlett don't remember that Jimmy Steward movie so I probably haven't seen it. My mom loved him & I thought she had us watch all his movies. Thought you were talking about the Brad Pitt movie & no I don't find that one romantic.

Can't think of any romantic books at all. And since I like chick flicks my choices would probably be those. I loved Love Actually. We were just talking about that one at work.

You know whats weird I didn't even know you could comment on Clay's blog. His blogs never made me feel any closer to knowing him or anything. I kind of don't understand that concept.

Brittany Spears blogged on her site after all her hmmm hard times last year saying something as simple as

    I hit my lowest point

    I really did

fond the statement true, kind of heartbreaking but never felt I was closer to her or that I knew her.

  7. When to Merieee say she didn't need smut in her romance? I missed that post.

I had seen part of the Clay in drag but never knew why/what/when I figured I should leave it alone. Shows what I know LOL.

    Scarlett

love Casablanca. Mr. & Mrs. Smith not so much.

need more time to think about the rest of your questions. Although I always loved the chessey movie While you were sleeping.

  9. I am actually the one alone because I am worried but to be fair I am a worrier. Always have been. It's just who I am.
*hands tribeca some worry beads and sits down beside her* I'll try to worry a little just so you won't be alone. Besides I enjoy holding the beads.

ETA: I would've said fingering the beads but Muski would've pounced on that like anything. BTW, you do understand that we just smut for fun and have been doing it for years -- nothing meant, truly! (I'm referring to that 69 thing from a couple of weeks back)

Yes, I figured out the smutting thing the second day I posted here :)

it all seems in good fun.

I am more of a romantic although you do need some smut for a good romance.

  10. I am actually the one alone because I am worried but to be fair I am a worrier. Always have been. It's just who I am.

Okay, I have been hoping all season that Clay will make an appearance on Idol. Have watched the show since season 1 but have not liked this season at all. In fact right now I think I am watching out of habit & just hoping that Clay shows up. The sure have said his name enough.

When Simon compared that singer to Clay

Kara said yeah with- don't remember exact word but it meant excitement. She wasn't even on AI when Clay was! She did co-wrote the Way but still be quiet Kara!

Always check on eBay before donating your books. The town I live in when the library has it's big book sale you should see the dealers who show up early.

One day when I was there an elderly lady was trying to donate her books & the librarian told her each of her books were worth $75.00 and if she could find the easel's they were sold on some were worth over $200.00. She would have never known if not for the kind librian.

  11. I was over at Amazon and the "Best Of Clay Aiken" page led me to OMWH and to read some reviews. I was taken by a review from "someone who loved Clay on Idol" but didn't like MOAM at all -- thought it was "plastic" music -- and ignored ATDW because it was warmed over covers -- but just discovered OMWH and can't get enough of it.

And then there's me ... and I love all three. Lucky me.

ETA: Haven't watched Idol, but hearing about Simon's remark that one of the singers reminded him of Clay Aiken .... did that kid get through?

No the singer Von Smith didn't make it. He was sweet in all his interviews. For the WC show he chose to sing Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word. A bunch of Clay fans made comments on a site & made fun of his height and said other negative stuff. I felt completely embarrased by it. Know I am not suppose to be but I am.

Liney Thanks so much for looking at my pictures :)

Clay's name along with Jennifer Hudson's was also mentioned on Fox news when they were talking about the wild card show.

  12. I kind of see the comparisons

    not voice

but in performance skills of when Clay was on idol & Von's idol time. They both make faces when they sing and the head movements.

Clay has better stage presence in my opinion but Von does have it too. Von to me just seems like a such a sweet guy. Hope he does well.
