  1. jmh and ansa, I'm with your takes on this. I'm not condoning Kim, but it sounds like Clay had perhaps a wee bit of the responsibility as well.

Avoidance issues is right. There is that one really tragic one in his life. This is not a cheap shot, I'm just saying that it's hard for him to disappoint those he cares about. I have that problem, too, BTW. Maybe he will learn something from this too . I also wish the fans hadn't gotten so hysterical over this one.

As I said during the entire brouhaha yesterday, "Oh, the humanity!"

And here's a limerick I penned today based on Clay and Tyra's lunchies at Jean-Georges:

They met for a lunch at Jean-George

The Aiken took pains not to gorge

    On the "fromage-macarone"

    Or "crisp-creme de la dones"

Miss Tyra alone made him large! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

  2. Sis, what's the iGallop? I know I'm being lazy and can't find your post. Oh, I'm buying tix TODAY for The Color Purple since I'll be up there for Sedaka. Anyone want to go Saturday the 27th of October? I love Fanny and she blew me away when she sang "I'm Still Here" on OPrah.

Wouldn't that just be hysterical if she joined the Clubelocke tour? "Club Fantasia is a Locke!" critics scream!

    :RedGuy:

  3. I haven't caught up in this thread, but I know I'd find sympathy here. I've just written elsewhere that there is often a method to Clay's "madness". I just got slammed by a poster elsewhere for being a "flashback personality". Jeez.

I prefer to see the upside of this rumor if it is true. I'd kill to hear Clay and Rube do some gospel or Rand B together. Kim, too.

I suggested that perhaps the dovetailing of AI Rewind Season TWo with this might rekindle the warm feelings America had for Clay and the others. And then Clay goes ahead and does his album! What's the deal?

Merrieee and others, youare right about the sense of entitlement I'm seeing with some people. This same gal suggested Clay take the temperature of the room before he blogs! Maybe he can't say anything yet. I'm sure he will when he can.

I feel lousy today. Can I get a hug?

    :allgood:

  4. The lovely Couchie said,

"Looking past the online fandom I do think the three of them could create some magic on stage for a great deal of people. There's a reason season 2 is the highest rated finale ever. I also think there are a lot of idol fans, not interested in going to see one or the other would go to all three. Could he lure those people back? Could it be tied into idol - them appearing on the show. And would say a 15 date tour - one month of his 2008 - really hurt him and any future CD. Is this thinking inside the box or outside of it. "

I agree. And I agree with Sis Kandre that this could be one smokin' R&B show. With lots o' banter and fun. Like Clay calling Rube "Shawty"! :cryingwlaughter:

It could be very cabaretish and ratpacky and original. I never underestimate the Earl of Aikenberry anymore! The Clubelocke! Verrrrrrrrrry eeeenteresting, indeed!

The fandom is going nuts- it's like poking a stick in an anthill, I tell ya!

I"ll be there, that's fo sho!

And thanks for all the hot pictures. Especially muski's disturbingly black and white one. Lips, lashes and that NOSE. Perfection. Those shell pink candy lips.....(drools off to bed)

eta: ON Clay's melanin deficiency: maybe the poor boy has "Michael Jackson's disease" whatever that thing is called. What does one have to feed him to get the melanin back? My DH just walked in the room and said maybe Clay has one big "whitoma"!!!! :cryingwlaughter:

  5. Re dreamy shot of hair stroking Clay:

He looks so aristocratic, like the Earl of Aikenberry or something hanging out with the posh set in London, doesn't he?

    LordTube.jpg

Haha! Where did you find that one bottlecap? And from Chapter Three:

"And how merrily he doth play the skin flute with such agility," decreed Lady Hornworth.

"Yea, doth he, indeed! I should happily join him in his merriment!" added Dame Tinglebottom.

Spake Lady Hornworth, "Yea, he doth play it so well, that he must at times don his baggy tweeds to hide the

    result of such naughty play!"

To be continued on Masterpiece Theater. A Masterpiece indeed! Tales of Ribaldry!

    Lady J where are you?

  6. Yay, couchie, that you got to go and have fun. Thanks for the reportage!

I'm "kvelling" with so much pride for Clay that I could "plotz"! I'm also a little verklempt! What a guy! Jerry Lewis and Merv Griffin had him pegged from the start. Now its David Foster and Mark Burnett- yup, the great ones recognize one of their own!

  7. Gibby, I'm just learning chords, so I do it by ear. I've found when I can't figure out the arrangement, create your own! So, I'm gonna try that!. Listen closely to the melody- many similarities to Pachelbel's "Canon". There are scales going on. I'm gonna try to dumb it down for my own performance purposes. It's worked with other songs I play....On the other hand, if you figure it out , send it to me- I"m moving along in my chord course!
  8. Hey guys,

I'm about to leave for the airport in an hour with a thunderstorm brewing. My flight is USAIR and supposedly gets in at 6 in Raleigh. Geekette is picking me up, but she has a meeting to go to. Is anyone here coming into Raleigh this evening? I'm at the Residence Inn Cary Marriott. My travel mates don't show up until tomorrow afternoon. Just wondering if I can hook up with one of you to say hi and get a meal somewhere.

  9. Mr. Artquest 's back was acting up so he went back to his room , where Flat Clay was. He then took it upon himself to "activate" Flat Clay ! How cool is that! It seems to have cracked everyone up.

Couch, I so hear you on the ongoing jabbering at Clay concerts. I had oodles of those types behind me in Philly. I just wanted to scream, "STFU" and "How rude can you get?" but I wasn't feeling optimally well.

I think I will next time say, "PLease stop, this is a concert. Many folks here are first timers and they can't even hear the songs." I 've done it before and gotten lots of attitude and "Huh!" looks. Maybe getting an usher if you can find one is best. The sense of entitlement these people have just grates.

I wish I could be at the wonderful Greek Theater tonight to hear Clay sing Picasso. (see spot's banter before WISYS clack)
