  1. Clay wrote the Forward to this book, and the National Inclusion Project very much contributed. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cu4UI7_OeMn/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D
  2. Nice picture gbmifan! Hopefully the weather cooperates, but it’s nice to also have a motorhome to retreat to if needed. It’s looking like this show is off the table for fall: October 14, at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center (Allen, TX). Beanerknits noticed that there was also a Ruben Sings Luther show scheduled that same night (although that is not on Ruben’s website at this point, but on Ticketmaster), so I guess the Ruben/Clay show there is gone. Kind of a bummer.
  3. My DH is from St. Anthony, which is part of the Twin Cities. And our tourism on Minnesota finished with a wedding in Fridley, also part of the Twin Cities. We spent a day driving along the North Shore of Lake Superior, and also spent a morning at the Mall of America. We also went to Al's Breakfast, which is a hole in the wall in Minneapolis with the best pancakes anywhere. Our stop at the Spam Museum was planned, because we LOVE Spam. Bought a 12 pack of 6 different varieties!
  4. Had to share this from our trip. The last stop we made was to the Spam Museum in Austin, Minnesota. It's actually quite charming there, and I bought a LOT of different flavors of Spam (the one with bacon included is especially good). Anyway, they have a small exhibit on our favorite musical. (Sadly, the screen was showing what looked to be a regional production, not the Broadway version with Clay. Bummer.)
  5. Gbmifan, I hope your trip is safe and that you have little weatherr problems. I also hope you get a good Gala ticket. Home again, home again jiggity jig. Tired but happy to see my cats! We stopped at an outlet mall on the way back home and I actually found pants that fit and are long enough! Bought three. Well, well, well…Clay has joined Threads.
  6. Anyone here on Threads (Instagram’s version of Twitter) yet?
  7. Also, this happened while Clay was in Indianapolis. So sweet of Clay! https://www.instagram.com/p/CuQrvFUtP8h/?igshid=NjIwNzIyMDk2Mg%3D%3D
  8. Clay just posted this as an Instagram story. You go Clay.
  9. Pictures from Indianapolis -- they also showed up on Facebook. DH and I spent the day starting in Duluth, MN, and driving along the coast of Lake Superior. Lighthouses, shops, and I got to put my fingers into the Lake (it was COLD). Now back to our hotel after a long day and just had a pizza delivered!
  10. Clay was in Indianapolis yesterday according to this Instagram post. https://www.instagram.com/p/CuQkheDN004/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D If someone can grab screenshots of the pictures, that would be much appreciated!
  11. That's awesome gbmifan! Clay friends are the best! DH and I are leaving tomorrow for a trip to Minnesota for the week. We will spending July 3-5 in Duluth, hoping that the weather is decent for us to see the beauty in Lake Superior. Then, we are visiting family in the Twin Cities. Today has been a DRAG, though. You know, when you go on vacation, you have to do a thorough cleaning of the house, right? So that's what we've been doing. I'm grateful that my husband doesn't mind vacuuming! Plus there's laundry and of course packing. Right now, I'm chilling on the couch with a cup of decaf coffee and watching one of my guilty pleasure shows, Dr. Pimple Popper! I should be able to check in here just in case Clay does something...
  12. Peoria, Illinois today. It was BAD. Pulled out masks today.
  13. Merrieeee, I am glad you checked in. That is so awesome regarding the celebration of Emily’s life. It is gratifying knowing that she touched so many people. Know that you’re still in my thoughts, and give it time. Grieve in your own way. We will be here for you.
  14. The Washington Blade has a photo album from the Gala. One good picture of Clay.
  15. About the event: Equality PAC Pride Gala, Washington, DC. This Instagram Post has some short videos of Clay. Love the purple suit.
  16. Clay was out and about last night, emceeing an event. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=10226822799894991&set=pcb.10226823046261150
  17. Jmh is our “behind the scenes” guru at the board, and she says that changing colors on the board isn’t quite as feasible as it used to be. Having said that, this isn’t a bad combo. I’ll have to talk with her about this more though, as I may have to limit myself to certain colors for banners. For those wanting information on the National Inclusion Project, it’s here. Would love to try to go, as I haven’t been to a Gala in several years. However, my husband and I are still trying to dig ourselves out of some debt when he didn’t have a job. (Yeah, so I did buy a couple of M&G’s during the tour. Sue me.)
  18. According to my records, there's two new shows added to rubenandclay.com Tuesday, October 24, Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts, Springfield, MO Monday, November 6, Portland'5 Centers for the Arts, Portland, OR
  19. I finally finished the podcast over the weekend, and the Marion jokes make sense now! I really enjoyed the entire podcast -- but you know me, I just like hearing him talk. This is cute.
  20. No — Marion is actually further for me than the St. Charles show (Illinois is a LONG state), plus the Marion show is on a school night. I don’t get the rest of your comment — is that because I haven’t listened to the whole interview yet? I did start the interview in the middle (when I stopped scanning, Clay was talking about him being on Idol in a year when it was still so new). I’m hoping to listen to the entire interview over the rest of the weekend. Loved the camaraderie between the three of them, and how Jeremy Miller was fanboying out, along with his mentioning the National Inclusion Project. I do wonder how Clay got involved with these two — seems rather random, but hey, it worked, and we learned some new stuff about Clay in the process. Mik — girl, you need to learn how to TRAVEL. So many of us got to know each other by just going “what the hell, I’m going to fly to North Carolina” or “what the hell, I’m going to drive 5-6 hours to see our boyfriend.” Yes, we all had commitments in our lives, and many of us (thankfully) had supportive husbands/significant others. But it was that “what the hell” aspect of it that helped us along the way. (I do think that spirit has lessed somewhat for more than a few of us though — we’re getting ANCIENT! 😂)
  21. On now. although I'm not listening at the moment. https://www.youtube.com/live/OBvEkCrUuDA?feature=share
  22. merrieeee, this is so lovely. She had a great life, and you raised her right. It is so sad that your best friend is now gone.... A reminder that tonight is the Navarro Miller report with Clay! This is the YouTube channel but there are many different ways to listen. Starts in about a half hour! https://www.youtube.com/@DaveNavarroOfficialChannel/featured
