  1. I missed out on all the AI2 Tour hoopla.  If I wanted to downloaded Clay's parts from a concert or two, which venues would you guys recommend as having good Clack?

From a totally biased point of view (because it was the one and only AI show I attended), get some stuff from the St. Louis show. I don't have the clips in front of me, but there's an Invisible out there from the show where he looked right into the camera after a shirt tug, with the most incredible smirk on his face. He soooooo knew... Also, get MnM's Air drums clip from that show -- it's a great clip, because the focus wasn't technically on him (it's shot during the section where they are introducing the band), but he's so adorable just being Clay during it.

When there's laughter and playing around on stage, I find it really endearing and funny. It's enjoyable for me to watch Clay having a blast. Actually, it's pretty enjoyable for me to watch Clay doing just about anything.

You are me. I know some Clay fans have been upset at particular instances where it MAY have gone too far *coughWolfTrapcough*, but I love it when Clay is having a good time. That joy, no matter what he is doing, is infectious, and I love catching his bug. :D

What's really fun is watching old and then new videos of him and seeing the way he has matured and grown as a performer and man. We get so used to how he looks now, but then you realize how baby faced he was during AI! He's definitely become a man......oh what a mighty fine man!

It floors me every time I see pictures of him during the AI period and compare them to what we've got today. The perfect example was last week when the outtakes of the TV Guide shoot came out, followed immediately by the HQ page 50 rejects. I had whiplash for two days afterward.

playbiller, the GMA Double Platinum ceremony is one of my most favorite clips as well. I think this was one of the few documented times when Clay was speechless! I also distinctly remember him looking heavenward at some point in the presentation. At the time, the speculation was he was thinking about his Dad. Now...who knows? He may have just been thanking God in his own way.

ETA: ooooooh, playbiller suggested some GOOOOOOD clips too! Now I'm going to have to dig these out and watch again...

  2. OK Ansa, I had to explain who one of my choices was...so could you please explain who your two choices are? And they ARE pretty.

KAndrea, I sooooooo remember looking at my first Rolling Stone magazine back in the early 1970's -- the one with David Cassidy on the cover.

    RollingStone.jpg

I think seeing that picture kickstarted my hormones that year... :D

ETA because I can't type...and to say that Clay needs another RS cover. Soon. Like tomorrow. Without his shirt.

  3. I was always conflicted about the Hardy Boys...loved Shaun, but Parker's eyes did me in.

Of course, back when I was a kid...I loved this guy.

    les.jpg

Yep, first class Bay City Roller dork who loved the lead singer, Les McKeown. Just did a google search for images of him...talk about a guy who did NOT age well.

What...this isn't the teen age crush thread? :P

OK, here are a few more men I think are very pretty...from the music area...

    Don Henley

    donhenley01.jpg

    Sting

    sting.jpg

Bono (just discovered this picture...Good GAH!)

    bono-large.jpg

BTW, I have to say, with these last three, I love their PASSION as much as I love their looks. I seriously hope that Clay can follow in their footsteps...the next generation, as it were.

muskifest -- I'm with cindilu2 in the fact that I  over your story.

  4. Oh Ansa...I was never a fan of Andrew McCarthy, but that picture you posted is definitely swoony. He has matured NICELY. Great, great smile.

KAndre, I am so with you on the blond dudes -- but Legolas made me weak in the knees. Then, when Orlando showed up in Pirates of the Caribbean...gah.

cindilu, I'm finding myself liking George C. more and more lately -- I'm really appreciating his self depracating sense of humor. Kevin C. -- used to really like a lot, but I've been having a hard time separating the pretty from the actual man more and more lately. Feel the same way about Mel Gibson.

I guess I'm not as shallow as KAndre. :P

Can you tell I'm at home today, trying to clean my house *coughlookingatpicturesofbeautifulmencough*?

  5. Now who is this Brent Spiner?

Maybe you know him better as this (although, knowing you couchie, this probably won't help you at all...)

    robot8_311.284046692607.jpg

Naveen...swoon...yep, I need to add him. Slurp.

OTOH...Buscemi?!?!?! Ooooooooooookay... But I love his acting...he makes me smile every time I see him.

ETA one more time: ebird, I LOVE YOUR AVATAR!

  6. hmmm making me want some cornedbeef and cabbage...

Mine's in the crock pot, ready for this evening. Yum.

Happy St. Pat's Day! This day is making me excited for June, actually...because hubby and I are actually going to Ireland! EEEEEEE!

Posted a few pictures in the "beautiful people" thread. That's also a yum, BTW.

Those new pictures last night gave me whiplash. I love it when we get 3 year old pictures and fairly current pictures in the same batch -- the change in the man is simply striking. Those bathroom pictures are still some of my most favorite ever...and yet, I love the new pictures. He's so debonaire in them...and so adult. Swoon.

  7. Duh..Clay is first on my list. Do I need to post a picture?

    huminahumina.jpg

    Pierce Brosnan

    Brosnan.jpg

Brent Spiner (this one is an old picture, and he hasn't aged as gracefully as I would have hoped, but I still pine for him...)

    spiner34.jpg

And roseviolet has already posted a sterling picture of Orlando Bloom, so I won't repeat that one.

Let me think some more on the rest...heh.

  8. The Ken Jennings clip? OMG, what a fantastic piece of clack...and Clay's barely seen in it. I think Clay must have made a HUGE impression on these folks...and that makes me smile. Gossip mongers? Tabloid writers? Asshole DJs? Nope, don't care. People who have worked with Clay and have seen first hand how Clay operates? Yes -- that's who I believe.

I'll be streaming that clip more than a few times in the next week.

    :purplebanana:

    Save the Bananas!

    *g*

  9. Thanks for the welcome, Ansamcw and idyjocelyn You guys spelled my board name wrong, which should give you an idea why it's my board name! :)

Well, damn. I had correct originally...and then I checked Ansa's post. Blame her. :12:

Oh, and idyjocelyn If you're reading my stories on another board, thank you! And...why don't you say 'hi' sometimes on the story thread? B)

I would if I could...but I didn't renew my membership, so I can't post there. Do you post your stories elsewhere?

I guess I'll have to start PM'ing you, though, with my thoughts....

P.S. You don't have my name right either. :D

  10. Just wanted to pop in to do a couple of things...

    1) Hand out aspirin/Tylenol to those who need them...

    2) Sweep up...

    and

    3) Welcome musikfest! I've been reading you at another board, and I love your stuff. Glad you're here...and glad you had a great time partying with couchie and the Bay Area gang!

    :Pogo0:

(Just had to add an emoticon before the mods take them all away. *g*)

  11. Dammit...trying to do CV's Name that tune and it aint easy...so far only identified 3...

    thats pathetic. :(

No, not pathetic, considering that a few people are having a hard time naming one. I just entered...I could name 9 practically off the top of my head. 2 more I'm not sure of, and 4 I had to leave blank.

    :00000462:

I also love this one --

    :club0:

Everybody have fun tonight...everybody Wang Chung tonight. :wein:

  12. Well, I was online already, so I thought I'd check out the temperatures in Zagreb in the winter.  According to weather.com, the average temperature is 32 in January and 37 in February.  Pffffttt.  That might be cold as MESS to a NC boy, but that's nothing to a midwesterner.  Put on little layer of fat, dude, and you'll be able to cope with those temperatures just fine.

Heh...I just checked weather.com for the average temperatures of Raleigh, NC.

Average low temp in January: 30

Average low temp in February: 32

Average high temp in January: 49

Average high temp in February: 53

So, I see that the averages for Raleigh would be between 40 and 45 degrees (estimated) in Raleigh. Zagreb wasn't much colder.

He must have really gotten used to the LA temps. *g*

I think the block party is a cool idea...but I think I may just watch more than anything else. I hate to say it, but the cynical side in me thinks a little like KAndre...waiting for the trolls to hit. I hope everyone plays nice and shares their toys like good Clay Aiken fans (however you describe a "good Clay Aiken fan"). Also, I don't know if this is supposed to be a mood cheerer idea because certain people are trying to keep things light before a storm, any storm, hits...but I'm trying not to worry about that either.

couchie, ITA on the blog...I think I was a bit worried about him personally too. I love him so much though.

  13. His "let's talk about something that REALLY happened" is simply perfect. This one line, which I missed the first time (and he must have added later) kept a smile on my face for the rest of the day.

He sounds like he was doing his own version of "The Amazing Race." But Clay, Clay, Clay -- always know what you are eating first. This blog, with its "to be continued" suggestion, should be a hoot. Can't wait to hear his medical stories.

    The pictures are too cute.

    I'm happy he's happy.

  14. I always found it rather ironic that the name for this insurance is a snake name. Heh. Good luck playbiller...and you too couchie!

I wanna go to couchie's house on Saturday! WAH!!! Maybe if I hopped into my car now, I could get there by Saturday afternoon. Maybe. But then my husband would put out a missing persons report, and that wouldn't be good.

Clay...miss you. Love you. Keep working hard on that CD. I will love it.

  15. I have never done Rate The Music or Promosquad.  It's hard to find two consecutive hours on the computer.....can you stop and then start again, if something comes up?  I would like to participate, if I could.

Promosquad -- you can do that for as little or as long as you want. I spent 20 minutes on it the other day, doing both song ratings and Fametracker. I've noticed with these guys though that they are offering a chance at nice prizes if you rate, say, 500 Fametracker names in a month (in that 20 minutes, I think I did over a hundred), and extra points for rating songs (I think I did 5 songs in that 20 minutes).

Rate the Music -- I signed up with two different email addresses -- one that rates Hot AC songs, and one for top 40. Once a week or so, they send me an email saying there's a new survey up. The surveys themselves take between 10 and 15 minutes. Also, they will send out "special music" projects, which are test releases of songs from new albums. For example, I've already heard bits and pieces of Kim Locke's new album. I'm hoping that they do the same for Clay's stuff soon.

Album news -- I think it will be this week, but I'm betting on tomorrow. Or a blog tonight, and the press release tomorrow. I want to hear some news!

  16. I had an incredibly long day today...up at 5:30 a.m., on the road for over 2 hours, meetings the entire day, then 2 more hours on the road. Come home, go for my workout with my husband, shower, eat dinner, and catch up. I'm tired as hell. I also don't have the brain power left to try and guess dates and such for the publicity. Maybe later.

But...I do have to do this:

*big squishy hugs to luckiest1 and cindilu2*

Topic: Clay Aiken is cute. Puppy dog cute. And then he does something that makes me think he's all man, and then I'm done.
