    treenuts, I think your description of record label peeps fits every type A multi millionaire business owner I know LOL. :cryingwlaughter: In fact, I think I hear one calling me right now.....scoooots....

    With perhaps one exception...although I can't be sure about all wealthy business owners....

    Music Industry Execs consume more recreational drugs, alcohol and sexual partners than in any other industry. But the perks are beyond belief and difficult to give up or learn to live without (I'm ashamed to say)

    I didn't respond to this specific commentary last night for fear of exploding. But, I do want to extend my gratitude to the members who responded offering their viewpoint and opinion that negates this commentary.

    And a thank you to those who responded to my writing of my experience which I submitted last night.

    I have a very distantly related professional opinion on this one statement/question. At one time in my other life I was a peon in the music industry and from what I knew about, observed, witnessed or heard of back then I would sumize that Clive most definitely is hands on in your face involved to the bitter end of the process. Except for the marketing and such....post release portion of it anyway. Guys like him do not get to where they are in the industry by standing by and allowing others to take over the process at a certain point. Nor do they rely on feedback or suggestions from others who are paid to provide exactly that. N.O.!

    My best guess is that he (Clive) is a major control freak with the ego of another planet entirely. I have never met, worked with or dated anyone in the industry who was anything less. With maybe one or two minor exceptions like the salesmen/reps. He had to be the first, second, third and final word throughout. I'm willing to bet he even subliminally or otherwise made possible future promises (also known as subtle career death threats with a smile and "I love you like a son" attached) in the quise of a career counselor at one time. They are cutthroat and would throw their own mother under the bus if needed! Do not doubt it. And Clay has had to make some serious adjustments I am sure in order to just live with the "rotting souls" for which he so aptly named them.

    Hehe, can you tell I have issues with this business? ;)

    And my experience has been the exact opposite in respect to the music industry. In fact, I can't think of one individual who I would label as an egomaniac from another planet or a major control freak or one who would throw their own mother under the bus. I have been very fortunate to have dealt with individuals of great moral standing, with a great passion for music, dedicated to philanthropic efforts on a global scale and within their own local communities. Those who would give the shirt off their backs for anyone. I won't apologize when I say that I am angry that others generalize and define them as "rotting souls." I have family and friends who are the most compassionate members of society who are also members of the music industry. I am tired of the crud slinging....

    I am one of the members of the OFC that prefers discussion of Clay's sexuality to be off limits on the site.

    For example, I am reminded of the disgusting, disgraceful tabloid media frenzy in Europe during Mercury's last days here on earth.

    What positives/enhancements are provided by including facets of Clay's personal life to the site/message board? I am seriously attempting to understand the importance or need.

    This is US magazine - can we believe it is true? Sometimes these magazines gasp make things up.

    Per HDD:

    CLARKSON-KWATINETZ SPLIT: Amid a swirling media controversy and the imminent release of her third RCA album, My December, Kelly Clarkson has split with The Firm’s Jeff Kwatinetz as her manager. Clarkson made a point of telling interviewers she’s either written or co-written the material on the new album, but the first single, “Never Again,” met with a lackluster radio reception, while ticket sales for her upcoming tour are reportedly lagging as well. With relations increasingly tense between Clarkson and her label, someone had to take the fall, and it turned out to be Kwatinetz. Insiders say they warned the manager not to put himself in the middle of that kind of high-profile showdown, as he did with Clarkson and previously, Linkin Park. Clarkson’s last album, 2004’s Breakaway, sold 6 million copies in the U.S. and 10 million worldwide. The new album will come out as scheduled June 26. Now, who will Clarkson turn to for management?     OK I just asked this question at CH. So ignore can be used on the message board as well as PMs? Wow..how surreal but maybe a great tool. HA

    I have been utilizing the feature for months. You have the ability to set the username on ignore. And you have a list that you are able to maintain. Of course, if a member quotes a member that you have blocked in their post, you will have access to their commentary. So, you just have to deal with that...and at times it can be difficult to follow the discussion of a thread, but it really is no big deal...you pick up the drift of the convo quickly...

    Claygasm I stated that it was crystal clear to ME and that others disagreed. I don't have a problem with others disagreeing. I don't believe others who read the column and agreed with my conclusion of the intent should be cast as paranoid. I have my own beliefs that are not slanted or geared or catered to a group think tank. I am just me and Clay is just Clay. Now, I have stated my piece/peace and I hope I have done so peacefully....

    Claygasm - I have 150 plus posts on the OFC message board. I never have and never will care about Clay's sexual orientation. It is his life, his private life is his. His sexual orientation is his. I have always attempted to stay FAR away from the subject. I don't perv over Clay. I don't care about his genitalia and what action he takes with it. The Page Six article was clearly a sexual orientation dig and I didn't have to dig to get it. Synchronized swimming is a sport developed by CANADIANS..the readership of the publication and is viewed as a FEMALE sport, the Olympic committee refuses males to participate. So, I didn't dig to find the intent. It was crystal clear to ME....Others didn't view it the way I did...that is fine.

    I didn't go after the moderator's decision ....

    I, personally, don't believe any gossip/tabloid material should be submitted on Clay's OFC due to the fact that thirteen year old members would have access to it. Just as I don't believe the term "Waldo" should be submitted on that site/board.

    The OFC is my home board. I find the need to state my piece/peace in respect to the Page Six article and the aftermath. I am proud of every single post that I ever submitted to that board. I have always given great consideration to my thoughts prior to hitting submit. I entered the Press Forum which is usually my first stop when I log onto the board...I am a hard news junky. I entered the thread and viewed the article, read it several times. My assessment was that it read as a sexual orientation dig at Clay and also a diva dig. I stated that opinion and issued exactly two posts in that thread.

    In fact, I wish I had posted a third stating that if the article was being treated as a '"sighting"..then the moderators should have moved the thread to the appropriate Sightings Forum..a forum that I don't enter and have no desire to read.

    Yes, it was clear that as time went on that opposed factions infused their on going battle and positions to the discussion.

    I, personally, refuse to take blame for the aftermath. When I make a mistake..I own up to it. But in this specific case, I have no regrets to the posts that I submitted. I stand by my position today as I did the day I submitted the posts.

    {{LMF}} You didn't write to The Sun. You didn't run to another board boasting about a mutiny. You didn't see an opportunity to take down a board and run with it. You didn't come from a place of control or hate. You didn't take any potshots at other fans. You saw what you saw and stated it. You didn't disrespect any mod decision. You didn't jump down anyone's throat. You didn't accuse, blame, carry on like an effing child.

    I'm sorry you feel the need to defend yourself, especially if it's because of me. I feel bad that people took it upon themselves to take your home board away because they can't act like adults.

    I hate this shit because it disrespected the people that DO act like adults and do think of the OFC as home, and it disrespected Clay -- the very person they are bending over backwards trying to protect. It backfired, people. As usual. Let the grown man take care of himself!

    YSRN You KNOW I heart and you don't need to apologize. I just had the desire to express my feelings on the subject and my participation in that specific thread. I sincerely feel bad for the young fans.

    lightmyfire - which version of UM do you thing Clay oversang? The demo one, the AI one, or the concert one? I've always loved the AI version.

    I just can't listen to Clay & Quiana's version of The Prayer. I love, love, love that song, and I was super excited to hear that Clay sang it. I downloaded it as soon as I could, but was underwhelmed. I guess the problem is that I've heard it sung by more classically trained singers, and partly sung in Italian, and that's how I prefer for it to be sung. I don't care for many of the vocal choices by either Clay or Quiana. But I'm glad that so many others enjoy it.

    The AI2 version....but I am now going to get a caffeine buzz on as KAndre suggested and re-listen ...ROTFLMAO!
