  1. Thank you! Nice and handy now. :me0: How come there are so many angel emoticons? Hmmm? :21: :26: :27: :16: :7: :19: :14: :13: :25:
  2. Do you think he will replace the rings he auctioned off? I miss the rings. I've added some new song to the playlist on Rose Radio. The songs are from Ayla Brown, Blake Lewis, Embrace, Great Northern, Heather Headley, Jordin Sparks, Julianne Hough, Paul McCartney and Steve Larkman. On Tuesday you can read more about this week's selections on the Rose Radio blog. :me0:
  3. Good morning! It's a new week on Rose Radio and I have added new tunes. Listen in today to hear tracks by 10cc, Constantine Maroulis, David Radford, Josh Groban, LeAnn Rimes, Low Level Flight, Rascal Flatts, The Three Degrees, and Vega4. On Tuesday you can read more about this week's selections on the Rose Radio blog. :me0:
  4. I love "Dirty Jobs" and "Mythbusters." Also Alton Brown! Whenever he goes to Harry's I squeal, "I've been in that store!" I also love to watch "Sell This House", "Flip This House" and "Flip That House." I think you're a heck of a lot of fun in person too!
  5. Good Morning! I've added new songs to Rose Radio. Be sure to listen in today to hear this week's selections which include tracks by Bucky Covington, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Drew Young, Kimberley Locke, Sting, Tears for Fears, and Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. On Tuesday you can read more about this week's selections on the Rose Radio blog. :me0:
  6. I really don't think it was that big of a deal. Paris Bennett really trashed AI in an interview and they are featuring her new album on their website. Somehow, I doubt AI is all that thin-skinned. Heh. AI. The masters of non-PC disses. I believe Clay made that clear subsequently on TV. Personally, I suspect he was having some real issues with some people in the industry which prompted the statement and his suddenly selling his house and moving back to NC. I understand the concern, but really, relative to what many other public figures say publicly, Clay is the soul of discretion. Sometimes he makes a strong statement to make a point. I can't think of the word, but sometimes one will make a generalization to make a point, not meant to be taken literally. It is possible to take even the most innocuous of statements and find something to object to if one looks hard enough. I would hate for Clay to have to try to second-guess himself to that degree.
  7. I would have to disagree with you. I think Clay expressed himself very well about his issues with IGB. He is not the first to express similar sentiments and I'm not sure why he can't express his opinion in the manner he did. He was a lot more respectful towards them then what Simon's comment was about Clay's use of Paxil or Ryan's mocking of Clay's trip to Afghanistan. I would also have to disagree with others who feel that Clay was being naive about education vs. awareness. Both are needed, but education leads to awareness. It addresses the deeper issues that lead more to the cure rather than just treating the symptoms. If anything, his comments strike me as being the opposite of naive. But then again, I totally agreed with him about the "rotting insides" (not "rotting souls") comment too. I just don't think it is necessary for him to always couch his statements to be totally non-controversial. One, it would be impossible and also, it would make him very boring! On another note, for anyone who has been following my Rose Radio Blog and were expecting to read yesterday about the new adds to the playlist for the week, I apologize for being a day late. However, the new blog is now up if you were anticipating reading it! That is, of course, assuming that anyone is actually reading the thing. :eusa_whistle: And as far as I'm concerned, LAA is one of the best songs ever... and not just because it is Clay's song. It strikes me right in the heart and relates to some of my deepest feelings. I love it. Like I just love this emoticon, Couchie! :me0:
  8. Good Morning! I have put some new songs up on Rose Radio. Be sure to listen in today for the preview of the new songs I added. This week's selections will include tracks by The Cinematics, Chris Sligh, John Pedersen, Katharine McPhee, k.d. lang, Keane, Olivia Eden and Ricky Nelson. On Tuesday you can read more about this week's selections on the Rose Radio blog. :me0:
  9. I'm a bit behind on the conversation, but I did want to say that I am definitely a fan of more than just Clay the singer. If that was the case, I would just buy the album and be on my merry way. But I am also a fan of Clay the performer, Clay the comedian, Clay the spokesperson, Clay the humanitarian. Sort of a holistic fan. He is just plain fascinating to me in all kinds of ways. As for hair. It could be worse. When my brother was in his 30's, he decided to let his hair grow... and grow... and grow. He grew it until it was down to his waist. Then he cut it into a bad mullet... still to his waist. Then he got tired of it and shaved it all off. Unfortunately, he does not have the right shape of skull to pull off bald. Yikes! I think many fans heads would explode if Clay did that!
  10. It's a new week with new songs for Rose Radio. They include tracks by America, Carmen Rasmusen, Chris Botti, Coldplay, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Harry Nilsson, Jay Soto, Jon McLaughlin, John Stevens, k.d. lang, Kelly Clarkson, Kurt Nilsen, Michael Buble, Simply Red, William Joseph and Yurko. Come listen and remember to flag your favorites as you listen. On Tuesday you can read more about this week's selections on the Rose Radio blog. :09:
  11. Bwah! Supposedly, all the coffee shops in San Francisco are going to offer free wireless, too! Unfortunately, there was an oil-truck accident on the Bay Bridge that resulted in a horrible explosion in the middle of the night (Amazingly, no one was killed. The driver escaped with second degree burns.) and there's no EASY way to get to San Fran now since some of the Bridge is melted, for crying out loud! (Ask me if I'm glad I no longer have the trans-Bay commute---go ahead, ask me!0 Ack! The Bay Bridge is melted! I'm so glad I don't have to commute to the city. I'll just happily live here until my house slides off into the Pacific ocean with the next great quake. I think San Francisco is still arguing who is going to run the free Wi-Fi. Clay looks very cute in those pictures. I'm glad he got to go see his mom compete in the dance competition. As for cousins getting married... my grandparents are first cousins and I'm okay... really... I am. Just ask Couchie!
  12. So much fun! But, boy, now I feel like I was run over by a truck. It didn't seem like we were there for 5 hours. Whew!
  13. I have added new tracks for this week on Rose Radio. Be sure to listen in Monday for the preview of the new songs. This week's selections will include tracks by Sister Hazel, Kasey Chambers, John Paul, Guster, Diana DeGarmo, Corinne Bailey Rae, George Huff, Jared Michael Yates, Ray LaMontagne, Sarah Mather, and The Guggenheim Grotto. On Tuesday you can read more about this week's selections on the Rose Radio Blog. :dj10:
  14. Wow! The new site looks fabulous. Good job! ----------------- Time for new tunes on Rose Radio. This week I am including tracks by Amy Kuney, Taylor Swift, Bo Bice, Kimberly Caldwell, Neil Young, Olivia Eden, Rob Thomas, Sting, Suzie McNeil, Taylor Hicks, Tears For Fears and Vanessa Olivarez. On Tuesday you can read more about this week's selections on the Rose Radio blog. :me0:
  15. Fan fatigue? Not me. Well, not where Clay is concerned. With some other fans maybe. Being a fan is a rather unique experience for me. I mean, there is being a fan and being a FAN. And with Clay I'm a FAN. And experiencing some of the, um, more interesting personalities on some boards, I'm not always a fan of some fans. Such is life, I guess. As for radio, I think Clay definitely wants to be a hit on the radio. It would be good for his career. I'm sure he'll have a great career without it, but it wouldn't hurt! I think he was aiming for it with "Back For More". I bet that would of taken off on radio. Meanwhile, I'll just play him on my radio. It has been pretty interesting programming this station. I get emails from independent artists looking to have their songs played. That is why you'll see a number of unfamiliar names on my playlist. It's a new week on Rose Radio. Be sure to listen in today for the preview of some of the new songs. This week's selections will include tracks by Simple Minds, The Cars, Gary Dean Smith, David Tennyson, Eliot Popkin, INXS, The Who, No Fixed Abode, Enya, Jacob Miller, Gerry Rafferty and Bonnie Raitt. Since the list doesn't quite make a whole hour, I've added some of my other favorite tracks to the list. On Tuesday you can read more about this week's selections on the Rose Radio blog.
  16. It has been my observation, whether it is a hater or a fan, that many who most object to Clay expressing a strong opinion and berate him for being "judgemental" are often times the very same people who are the most critical and judgemental of Clay and/or other fans. Interesting, no?
  17. Hope you see my PM. If anyone is having trouble listening to my station, you might want to check out the instructions here and see if they help.
  18. I noticed those highlights too. I think his hair looks great. Seems like his beard is darker than it was before. Could be natural. Happened to my younger son. It's a new week for Rose Radio. Don't forget to listen in tomorrow for the new songs I'm adding this week. There will be tracks by Jordan Segundo (from season 2 of AI), Keane, Kimberley Locke, Michael Buble, No Doubt, Steven Curtis Chapman, Taylor Hicks, Tim McGraw, and The Wreckers. On Tuesday you can read more about this week's selections on the Rose Radio blog. So far, the new royalty rates are up in the air. So it looks like I'll have the station for a little while longer.
  19. I don't know how I let myself get drawn into that thread on the OFC, but there you are... and I still don't understand. --------------------------- I have added some new tracks this week to Rose Radio. Be sure to listen in today at 11:00 a.m. (PDT) for the preview of the new songs. You can check the broadcast schedule for when it airs locally. This week's selections will include tracks by Clay Aiken, Elliott Yamin, EverBlue, Foreigner, Ryan Malcolm, Simply Red, Talking Heads, The Beatles, and The Police. Since the list doesn't quite make a whole hour, I've added some of my favorite oldies to the show to fill it out. On Tuesday you can read more about this week's selections on the Rose Radio blog. I would also like to point out that I do post the list of the top listener-rated songs each week to the blog too. It is important to flag your favorites as you listen since I use that information to help me decide which songs I keep each week. Thanks!
  20. Hi! New tracks to Rose Radio's playlist have been added. Be sure to listen in Monday for the preview of the new songs. This week's selections will include tracks by Bo Bice, Coldplay, Elliott Yamin, Fantasia, John Legend, Katharine McPhee, Kurt Nilsen, REO Speedwagon, Rob Thomas and The Police. Since the list doesn't quite make a whole hour, I've filled it out with tracks added previously from some independent artists. On Tuesday you can read more about this week's selections on the Rose Radio blog.
  21. I've always believed in the judicious use of emoticons, but y'all don't seem to have my favorite:
  22. Hi! I have uploaded new songs for this week on Rose Radio. Be sure to listen in Monday at 11:00 a.m. (PDT) for the preview of the new songs. This week's selections will include tracks by Aaron Neville & Linda Ronstadt, Bo Bice, Eva Cassidy, Heather Headley, Jasmine Trias, Joe Nichols, John Legend, LaToya London, Mario Vazquez, Norah Jones, Shaun Cassidy, The Four Degrees, The Kinks, The Who, Toto, and Wil Deynes. On Tuesday you can read more about this week's selections on the Rose Radio blog.
  23. Clay must perform Broken Wings. And Here You Come Again. And Lover All Alone. Oh, heck, the whole album. He's got time, right? New songs are all loaded up for a new week at Rose Radio. Tune in Monday at 11:00 am (Pacific time) to hear the new additions to the playlist. Some of the artists represented are Camile Velasco, Elliott Yamin, Harry Chapin, Jessica Sierra, Ray Charles and Vonzell Solomon. I don't know how much longer I'll be able to keep the station as there were new royalty rates mandated and they are a lot more. If it goes forward, it is going to stop a lot of hobby stations like mine. So, listen while you can!
  24. Funny thing about teeth. I was blessed to have very straight teeth. Even have had dentists ask me if I ever had braces. Nope. Unfortunately, they seem to have an unnerving tendency to crumble. Now I have quite a few crowns. My youngest son had a horrible time with his teeth. His permanent teeth were growing in crooked because his baby teeth would refuse to fall out. He eventually had to have braces. Then he paid big bucks for a tooth implant. He was very self-conscious about his teeth and much happier when he had them fixed. Clay really does spoil me with his covers. I sometimes have a hard time listening to the originals again. Weird. I used to think that I usually preferred original versions over covers, but then I found out that some of the songs I thought were originals were actually covers. Like "Without You" by Harry Nilsson. Or how about "Proud Mary" by Tina Turner? I didn't even realize that "Respect" by Aretha Franklin was a cover of an Otis Redding song. I'm planning on putting together a show on my radio station playing back to back original (or first well known version) of songs with subsequent cover versions. Can be interesting to compare.
  25. New week for Rose Radio. Be sure to listen in Monday for the preview of the new songs I will be adding. This week's selections will include tracks by Alison Krause, Carrie Underwood, Clay Aiken, Eliot Popkin, George Harrison, James Morrison, Justin Guarini, Katharine McPhee, Keane, Kelly Clarkson, Kim Carnes, Kimberley Locke, Kurt Nilsen, OK Go, Sara Evans, Taylor Hicks, The Bee Gees, and Van Morrison. On Tuesday you can read more about this week's selections on the Rose Radio blog. Socks? How about some hot socks for a hot guy?
