  1. pps. That TBAF sale for 24-disk CD/DVD case for $2 is very timely. I'm making it my goal to create enough DVD's to fill it up and will find a way for everyone here who buys one this weekend to get hers filled up too. PM if you got one. (uh, with Clack from JBT forward)

:sayitagain: It's not nice to tease the newbies...

I d/l Scarlett's excellent FtMyers Xvid and can't get the DVD to burn :scream:

  3. Grits are great. Tre made the most amazing looking item using grits on Top Chef.

Jello - now that's another story. Jello just creeps me out. Lime or otherwise. It moves of it's own free will. Not OK in a food.

A few thoughts on the fandom....

I can't relate to the reactions we saw on some of the boards yesterday. I just don't get it. And I was surprised to see such comments from people I didn't expect them from. I don't mean personal displeasure for the idea - that I get. I mean the expectations of Clay, the judgment of a decision that was unconfirmd, the anger toward him for not calming the masses. I'm trying to figure out where it came from, and all I can come up with is a loss of perspective, a level of investment, time spent, and relative isolation that keeps the real world from seeping in. My goodness, so many people went off the deep end instantaneously without even giving the poor guy time to know what's going on. I laughed at one banter comment this summer in which Clay was asking how many concerts people have been to, and he finally asks how many people have been to more than he's been to. That sort of says it all to me. Fans sometimes have more Clay- related information than he does, and don't realize it. Too much information, and yet not enough knowledge.

I felt badly for him yesterday. So pre-judged. And his friends so maligned. And by people who profess to care about him, and who I believe really do in their way. And I felt badly for the fandom who seemed to suffer unnecessarily. I can only hope that some learning will come from this.

Great post...I also was very surprised yesterday for the same reason...and for some of the comments in his blog..wow..I guess talking to Clay the entertainer made it okay....problem was Clay the person is in there too.

just hope he didnt read it all...

  4. Well I was vilified on the Clayboard for suggesting that some folks might owe Clay an apology.

I am certainly not speaking to those who merely expressed concern, or even dislike for the idea of this tour. I'm speaking to those who used words like 'loser' and 'career suicide' and 'opportunist' and 'fool', both about Clay and his friends. Especially when these things were flung at him before he ever uttered (or typed) a single word about the subject. If anybody really believes that these words aren't hurtful and mean - that these actions don't bear apologizing for... well I'll just say I hope you never consider yourself my fan.

    AMEN!

  5. Is it possible...could it be even remotely possible that I would rather read the angsting, hair pulling posts over the "I knew it all along...thank you, thank you, thank you Clay, I knew I could trust you" shit?

    Shoot me now. :scream:

    Pass the bullets.

I have to rein myself in because I so wanted to tell some people that instead of the thank you thank you , they really should be saying sorry sorry. Seems I am not alone in that.

you are not alone in that...you have no idea how many posts I had typed and deleted without posting about that very thing..

  6. I suppose it would be too much to hope some of the people who have been ranting and raving about how Clay doesn't care about his fans, his career, etc. and how they are giving up on him are choking to death on the crow feathers that are lodged in their throats.

I would have been thrilled with the reunion concert. However, I will be thrillled with whatever he does instead.

It's his career. He gets to choose.

    Clay thrills me.

    Bottom line.

    yeah that.....

  7. okay I know I have been a lurker lately but good god, keep me away from that other place....that many of you go to....dear GOD...

lets all high five cause we are posting nasty things in his comments in his blog...yeah that will show him...tell him you are disapointed..for WHAT? that he didnt tell you or not about a tour that may happen or not? just go the hell away....I will take some of those front row seats too...just dont bitch and moan and then elbow us to get em..

    wow...I dont get it...

who tells me how to run my life or how to talk or what to say or write...that would be ME....why would I presume I could do that to anyone else.....my head wants to explode!!

this sense of freaking entitlement I JUST DONT GET....
