I love that he shares his surfing discoveries with us. Now we know our colors and personality. I wonder what he'll explore the next time he is bored. He cracks me up.

I'm feeing sad about the passage of Proposition 8 since two members of my family--my nephew and Clay--and many friends (incuding Luckiest!) are gay. I take this very personally.

My only comfort is that 8 years ago a similar marriage-is-only-a-man-and-a-woman measure in CA passed with 61% of the vote and this time it passed with 52%. As Clay says, we have to be patient. If the vote came down 9 points in 8 years, and we can get an amendment back on the ballot in 2 years, those supporting gay rights should be in the majority.

I am cautiously hopeful.

A good friend who followed this closely, both as a researcher and a gay activist, said that as disappointed as he was, the good news is that the younger generation (I didn't get an age range, but could) voted against it 2-1, so yeah, so it sounds society will need to wait it out. Unfortunately.

I saw the Secret Life of Bees, and liked it. It's a tear-jerker though - a 2 hanky one, minimum. I read the book a long time ago and loved it, so that sort of affected my take on the movie. Books always seem better for some reason, maybe because they allow you to create your own mental images. This movie was done well, though, and the casting was excellent, IMO.

Not everywhere, but in a lot of states. We don't have it in PA.

CG, the CV stream went quiet briefly while they were switching media or some such thing. It's back on now, and is really clear.

Why do I always have problems with the CV cellstream?

I tried it out and i get NOTHING!!!

CG, I'm on a Mac and am getting the stream just fine. I use Real Player. I just open the player, then click on something on the menu that allows me to open a file or enter a URL or something (Open Location maybe). Then I enter this URL: http://live.str3am.com:2060/secure.m3u

You have to have a user ID and password, which changes from time to time, but mine from the summer of 2007 still works.

I find it totally amazing that it's been almost 6 years since we met Clay and I find him even more fascinating than I did on day one. How is that possible. So many other interests have come and gone since then... but Clay is still part of my "daily" life.

It really is amazing. The thought actually brought brief tears to my eyes, and for the first time, I'm not even embarrassed by them.

Neither do I. I don't collect anything, not even Clay stuff. I don't know what made me pick up those feathers. They probably aren't something one should handle. I thought maybe I could unload them......

I went to a flamingo preserve once, and picked up a few feathers from the ground. Poor things drop their feathers all over the place. Would you like one?
