Hope everything is ok couchie. Sounds like a frightening event.
I wonder how close the quake is to the winery where Clay is fundraising this week?

I'll have to save my shirt for Clay functions. I've been wearing a tee shirt for my friend who is running for NC legislature. I'm also supposed to be making calls for her. But due to a family crisis I can't find the time.

I think I'll try to pick it up tomorrow. Hopefully they have it at B&N.

I have to admire Clay for doing what he says he will do. I'm sure he will learn some valuable information.
Go Clay!

Don't know why I can't copy my recap, but I can't. Feel free to bring it over if you wish. Sorry! It was a great time. Fun, fun, fun.
-
Three of us are going to that event. Should be fun. Oops, meant the Red Clay Ramblers, not the Mayor of Cary.
-
Wow John Lewis. Clay must have been awe struck as was I going to hear him speak along with Maya Angelou many years ago at Wake Forest University.

I think Clay is pretty smart for having others speak for him. Other than that one local interview I haven't seen Clay mention it. In the interview it was just a by the way comment and he didn't elaborate on it. No one can accuse him of being an anti war sympathizer as he wasn't even born when it was going on. Of course that never bothered some folks.

Exciting news from NC for Clay.

Happy Birthday jmh !

Very nice banner!
Cute baby luckiest! I wish disneykid all the best.

I feel like some friends have taken steps backwards within the last 4 or 5 years, using the bible as their excuse to discriminate. I don't know what to do when getting together with some folks. It's like tiptoeing around a conversation. Thanks jmh, you sound about as helpless as I feel. We continue to support politicians we believe in both monitarily and volunteering time. But it never seems to be enough.

I just don't think a Clay board needs to make it more available to bloggers or anyone searching for news on Clay. I don't like reading it anyplace and the more places available, the more sites will likely pick it up. That particular site is owned by the same people who bring us the National Enquirer. If it were a negative article from a reputable site not just a gossip site, I could handle it. That's the difference to me.

Great job ldyj. Whoa!
Good to see you back merrieeee.

Merrieeee, could we move that article into the members only thread?

Blurry pictures assumed to be Parker were on the 4th of July. I didn't save it. Saw it on CV this morning.

Happy Fourth of July

I believe he got bumped, but they probably promised another date. It's only right. IMO

I also loved his performance that night despite forgetting a few words. I think this was his promise to sing for us one last time. I also watch the thanks for ten great years video, he recorded on his laptop.
-
And tonight Friday, Clay is on a repeat of the Arsenio show.
-
There are some new pictures of Clay out there, I just don't know how to post them.
If you are going to the Gala in September, please let us know here in misc events. Sorry I can't even bring a link over. Bought a new laptop and for the first time ever I can't get email on it. I'm just getting older and more inept. .
Have a great day!

Thankds ldyj. Whoever it was seemed to have an agenda I couldn't figure out. I chose to ignore. He/she obviously knew you were not available. Have a great time.
One day this week is Clay Aiken Day in Lee County. We should have some news regarding that. I'll be ata high tea that afternoon and a fund raiser in the evening for a friend who is daring to run for the NC legislature. She is a voice for the Hispanic community having been an English as a Second language teacher. Have my fingers crossed for her and Clay.
Hope everyone has a great day today.

I know what you mean merrieeee. We haven't taken a vacation in 2 years, although I did go to Mane last summer and never regretted it. And we did move into a house that needed a lot of work. But I didn't complain too much when Mr. Fear put in an expensive Japanese garden in our small side yard. It's pretty but I wanted a vegetable garden instead. The veggies are planted in pots and hanging baskets using a tent frame in another yard.

Have fun ldyj.

Hope we can meet up gbmifan. I'll be there Friday night.
In addition to our family problems, it was determined that I should probably have a hip transplant. I'm meeting with the surgeon on Wednesday. My hip is bone on bone so I've been pretty miserable. Thought Pt and exercise would help but no such luck. My son and my sister offered to help so it should be pretty easy. I am so happy we moved to a one level home from a split level. I'll be the one with a cane or hobbling all over the place.
