  1. Couchie, maybe impartial wasn't the right word but she seemed sincere and not just reporting it for the sensationalism of it. It was more of an obituary as it should be.

My youngest son met Mr Crisco at several Economic Development conferences and was very impressed although they are in different political parties. He did a lot for the state of NC and hope that is what he will be remembered for and not for this campaign. My thoughts go to Clay also for this horrible turn of events.

  2. Happy Mothers Day to all, whether your baby has 2 legs or 4 legs. :openflower3:

We are going out to eat at the retirement home with our ex neighbor who is 87 and is in the nursing facility there. It has a lovely dining room and the food is quite good. I'll probably get a text from my son who lives nearby and a phone call from my other son on the other coast. I ask them not to give gifts as it took so long to declutter our home.

  3. I know what you mean merrieeee. I did make some calls for Clay until I couldn't see the phone numbers anymore. I finished 5 pages of names and turned in 2 1/2 pages. I have to keep my right eye dilated during treatment and the light of the cell phone was bothering it. I really dont want to lose sight in that eye. Sorry Clay.

I may try to go to the election night party for Clay. Depends where it will be. I'm feeling good about Clay.

  4. I don't watch it either but my husband watches it every night and thought Clay was great. H e made sure to tell me that Colbert was playing a role and was not himself. I guess he always does this on his show. I thought Clay was perfect. I also liked the Huffington post interview but thought the host of that earlier show was humorless so I didn't enjoy that interview as much. But Clay managed to get a lot of information in.

ldyj I you need me for your homework assignment just let me know. No microphone but headphones.

  5. Too many things to do when I got home. Went with cam552000 who also lives nearby me. It took us 2 hours to get to Cary High. I had the wrong address but we made it with time to spare.

We were chatting away as we went up the stairs to the auditorium. I asked her if she thought we were late. She said no since Clay was walking right next to us. I didn't even see his mom. He shook my hand and asked my name and where I was from. I told him I couldn't vote for him but was supporting him. He said thanks and hurried in the door. I don't know if he had a driver or a security guard but a man was with him and held the door open for Clay and then us. Clay looked amazing. I think he was wearing the suit from the Carter event. It was black or a very dark navy with stitching for stripes. He had on a white shirt with a solid light blue tie. From the back he looked pencil thin. No baggy suit there. I looked down at his shoes which were black with the pointiest toes I 've ever seen. I thought his hair looked great

I was interested to see if there was any interaction between he and Crisco. Clay was as polite as could be. He smiled and joked with Crisco during the forum. After a long introduction from Dan Blue, pointing out those running for office who were there and promoting the Wake County Democrats in a very gracious way. He turned the microphone over to the mayor of Spring Lake who was the moderator of the forum. He explained how each candidate would answer the questions from the audience. He introduced the candidates individually. Clay was first and the others followed.

I won't go into what followed as granan explained it. But Clay talked about how his interest in giving a voice to those who have none. Mr Crisco talked about being a businessman and Ms. Morris talked about her sister's breast cancer and how she evolved into running for office.

Afterwards Clay was once again surounded by women while the other candidates left. I heard people asking about tee shirts and buttons. Someone wearing a Clay shirt and buttons said they will be selling them soon. A woman complained that the Clay for NC signs couldn't be seen from a distance. Again someone said they would be getting new signs this week.

I forgot to mention that the first sevens rows had that indie magazine with the great picture of Clay on

    every seat.

  6. Thanks guys. I can't believe how depressed I'm feeling. I've been washing litter boxes and cleaning up anything I think a rescue cat might need. This was our last cat. He was seventeen going on 18. I just don't think I could take care of a pet for another 17 years.

luckiest, it's good that your mom is feeling so independent. She'll heal a lot faster. And it's good that you and your daughter are around to help.

  7. I think Crisco and Morris have been government employees for years and have that government speak language. Ms. Morris implied that she worked for the school system which to me is like working for the government. Clay is new, dynamic and very excited that he might make a difference. I hope he always keeps that enthusiasm. When or if that is gone I think he will try another way to give people a voice.
