  1. What is with the [EDITED] in bigappleforclay's recap? Does that mean that she doesn't want to reveal the amount?

It might be because a troll is tweeting that Clay is cheating, and it is from some thing innocent in her re-cap. That is why she might have edited. Clay is not cheating. Some suspect that it is JP posing as a John. They say he has used this alias before. I don't really know who it is. But whoever it is, appears to be getting information from the boards and distorting it.

  2. Love the updates.

So I take it the fund raised wasn't used yet? Any update there.

Glad Clay seems to be doing well. How many challenges so far? Three?

Over $13,000 was raised. Of that amount only $10,000 cleared the bank. It seems that it takes 3 days for Pay Pal money to clear. A check for $10,000 was used to buy one of the guides by Dancermom of CV. Clay let her know through a go between that he needed the money that day. It was requested by Clay. There are pictures of Dancermom presenting the check. She got warm hug from Clay, Dee and Arsenio. The guide was autographed by the men's team, and it will be auctioned at the Gala. Clay was made aware of this. They managed to buy other guides to auction also.

Clay is aware of how much money was raised. He knows that only $10,000 cleared the bank on time for the challenge. I believe that Penn had Teller pay $25,000 for one of the guide books. Dee's fans paid $5,000 for one.

Clay asked Dancermom for us to raise more money in case he needed it. So we have the $3,000 plus that we have not used, and other donations are still coming in through Pay Pal.

Dancerdad took wonderful pictures. Dee told Dancermom that he loves the "Claymates" and that they should also be Deemates. He seems like a warm and friendly soul. I am surprised that the link to DD pictures has not been brought over. I just saw that Kim brought the link over.

You can see Dancermom handing the check to Clay.

  3. Just in case someone brings the picture of the flyer over here I am bringing over what DM posted at CV.

QUOTE (dancermom2 @ Nov 1 2011, 03:46 PM) post_snapback.gifSorry guys...someone else who was there just pm'd me to say one of the suits from the show told her that the flyer should not be shared. Can you make sure it gets taken down if you took it elsewhere? Of course they didn't tell this to everyone as they were leaving..

  4. Posting this here instead of Celebrity Apprentice thread so it will not be missed. CV has a fund for Clay to use if he needs it. Last time it was close to $4000.00. CV is "plugged" in to where Clay can let CV know when he needs the money.

The call has come in, and if any body wants to donate, the money needs to be there before Monday because that is when Clay might need it. Money is still coming in through Pay Pal. It doesn't have to be a large amount, just whatever people can afford.

One good thing is that we know that Clay is still in it to win it.

UPDATE: As of 19/31 the Celebrity Apprentice Clay fund has raised $12,000, and money is still coming in. Cutoff is tonight at 10 PM.

  5. Color me confused. Is this legal show wise?

From what I understand the participants are allowed to call for donations. I believe the funds will go to the National Inclusion Project.

Oh I was under the impression that the person didn't always win the money for their charity but that the winning team's leader got the money. I don't watch the show...just remember reading this here somewhere.

Yes, you are right. That is the way it works, the winning PM gets all the money, so its a crap shoot. Bottom line is that if Clay needs donations, we are trying to help him, but the money might end up going to another charity if Clay loses the challenge. If for some reason Clay has no need for this fund, the money raised will then go directly to The National Inclusion Project.

One way that I have seen people participate with funds is buying stuff like once, someone bought a $10,000 hamburger. They are allowed to call contacts to come and buy stuff.

  7. Bless you to all those who venture into the angst to bring us the goods. Really love those two pics with Clay and just the guys cuz you can see those thighs in the pics. Looking good in them tight jeans.

I have not come across any "angst," just fans having fun. There are those who criticize the fans who are bringing information to CV because they do not want to know anything until TCA airs, and post that they do not want to see any videos, then they are the ones who take the videos to other MB. Go figure?

Most of the fans are just having lots of fun with all the stuff that our "sleuths" are finding for us.

  8. I only come here, CV and OFC, and I have not read of any fans making Jaymes the fall guy if the single does not do well. That's news to me. I really don't care what the single is, as long as it gets the radio play that Clay wants, and it gives a big boost to his career. I have a hunch that it will be different than the music Clay likes to sing because of the name of his blog "Winds of Change."

  9. Couchie, the Big Bang is hilarious. Aikim gave a good basic idea of the show, but it is a lot more. You have to watch it a few times to get to know the characters though. I have watched it from the very beginning and love it. The characters are all genius level people, but misfits when it comes to socializing. They don't have a clue, but they live in a world all their own and it works. I love it!

  10. Here are the only pictures from my camera I managed to salvage. Two from inside the chapel and two from the reception. One is my daughter dancing with Meghan, and the other is the happy couple during their first dance. I tried to attach them but it wouldn't work. This should be a public link to the facebook album.

Gorgeous dress, cute couple! :) Glad it went well.

I had a really good evening myself... a few days ago I asked the guy I've been seeing to go with me to the studio's new exhibit's opening..and he said yes! So last night I picked him up and we went downtown, and just like everyone else, he loved the gallery. I really don't know how you can't! It's so unique..and the new show is AWESOME! Everything is very post-modern and abstract, and there's even a few "live" pieces like a big blobby thing made of un-blown-up purple balloons, chairs, an "alligator shelf" etc. It's really really cool.

After leaving the studio we hung out for a bit before going to a friend's party...we've haven't really said much to the group that we've been seeing/talking to each other the past few weeks but last night we walked in together so... surprise.. haha! He and I have plans next weekend already to go mini golfing, which we both apparently are bad at, so it should be fun! I also made plans to go with dancing with the girls, whenever that'll be. But I won't dance, I'll be on the side watching them! LOL

Today I'm taking my mom down over by the mall to see all the stores she's been missing out on for the past month. :) Yay shopping!

Sounds like you had a great time. Hope you have fun shopping with your mom!

  11. I was able to change my plane reservations, so its still a go for me. Still have to get return flight tickets though. The "network scheduling" conflict is worth all the hassle and extra money for me. I just want to see him on my TVeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I hates Donal Trump, but I like Apprentice and would like to see Clay every Sunday on the show. I usually DVR it and then fast forward all the parts where the crazy haired pompous bag of wind appears. He is not on the show that much. I love Rosie and don't like how Trump re-acted to her hair comment. Trump's reaction reminds me of Ripacrite reaction, drama queen.

  12. And keepingfaith, I'm not sure I get what you are saying about not wanting to get entertainment from something that you had previous experiences of, if only as an observer. Most of us do that all of the time. We read and watch books or movies about things like the Holocaust or abuses during the Civil Rights era or killings, etc. all the time. Now I'm not saying that we are sitting there cheering and laughing about others pain, but there has to be some entertainment value or we wouldn't be watching them. They make me feel and think, and for me, that is entertaining. And sometimes it even makes people act to make things better when they see or read about these atrocities, even if they were meant primarily as entertainment.

I'm just saying what I feel and think. I had a very emotional experience with Schindler's List - and it took me weeks to get it out of my head, which is not a bad thing. For me it wasn't entertainment; it was more important than that. I didn't like Saving Private Ryan at all, so it's just subjective, you know. My dad didn't see Private Ryan because it was still too fresh for him after 50+ years. He's a 91 year old former Marine, and he still doesn't like to talk about what happened in WWII. At the other end of the spectrum, my dad refused to watch John Wayne war movies, because he said they were fairy tales that gave people the wrong idea about the realities of war.

Propaganda is all around us, and we live in it and drink it up for the most part. But when I can clearly identify it, I reject it. That doesn't mean I expect other people to reject it. But, I'll always speak my mind, and hope that others don't object to that.

My dad who served in active combat in World War II felt the same way as your dad. He said that movies, TV shows, glorified wars, and the reality was way worse. He also would not talk about what happened in WWII. One thing he did say is that people behave horribly in wars, not just the enemy, but American soldiers as well. He said he saw horrible deeds performed both by the enemy and American soldiers. But he would not go into details. He was a gentle man. He died last year at the age of 94.

I guess war brings out some people's "Heart of Darkness."

I did not see Private Ryan. War movies are way too graphic for me. I do not watch them. I like war movies such as "From Here To Eternity." especially the scene on the beach. heh I also liked Tora, Tora. But those are old movies and not too graphic.

  13. Couchie, I loved your perspective. It makes a lot of sense to me. I have not read the book, but saw the movie, and liked it. I also saw the movie as one woman's perspective, and not as a historical novel. My maternal grandmother worked ironing peoples clothes when she first came to the United States. She was paid 50 cents a day, and she ironed all day. Being Hispanic and poor in Texas was not a good thing. Although there was no segregation for Hispanics, there was definitely DE-facto segregation because of economics. We lived in our own section, and all the schools I went to were 100 per cent Hispanic. Black kids had their own school which was both a grammar school and high school. That was back before Brown versus Board of Education, Topeka reversed Plessy v Ferguson. And even when it was reversed it took a couple of years for the schools to comply.

Cute story about my 27 year old granddaughter. I had come to Houston to help with her newborn brother. The next door neighbor had driven her to her first grade class, and brought her home. She was five years old, and I could tell that she had been crying. It seems that there was a little boy who had been hitting her. The neighbor whispered in my ear that he was black. Then the neighbor told my granddaughter, "tell your grandma what happened to you." Granddaughter related the story that a boy was picking on her and made her cry. Then the neighbor told her, "tell your grandmother what color the boy was." My granddaughter had this puzzled look on her face, then she answered, "a regular color."

I was so proud of that little girl that day!

I am going to see if I can find that book, "I'm Done" so I can read it.

  14. So I'm finally changing to U verse from Direct TV. They are coming out next Thursday and the only thing I'm trying to debate is whether to watch the 20 episodes of True Blood that's been sitting here forever. I guess I could do it if I started today.

Since most of our customers are foreign ships we rarely have any holidays off. We always have a small staff working and since I'm the JUNIOR food buyer I never really get any holidays off but Xmas and Thanksgiving. Those are the only days we seem to totally close down for. We do try to close down early though..usually around 1 or 2.

I don't understand our weather. We've had some nice warm sunny days this week and today it's cold and dreary again. I hope we get a real summer.

I'm finally going to break down and add some music to this shuffle. I didn't want to because I wanted another "real" ipod LOL. I miss having Clay in my ear though.

And as I posted this it starts freaking RAINING hard!

I think you will like Uverse. I changed from Comcast to Uverse a year ago, and I really like it. Only negative is that I lost everything I had recorded on the Comcast DVR. I hope that you like Uverse enough to make up for the 20 episodes of True Blood if you don't get to watch them!

  15. I think the reason Hillary looks so apprehensive in that picture taken during the raid, is that from what I've read today, she was one of the ones voting against the ground raid. There were three options at Thursday's meeting -- send in ground forces to capture or retrieve the body, blow up the place from the air with a couple of bunker busting bombs, or wait for proof that Bin Laden was actually there.

The article basically says that the operational people were for the ground raid, and everybody else divided up between the other two options because they believed a ground raid was fraught with risk. Obama made the decision overnight and called everyone in on Friday to announce that he had decided to go with the ground raid and put it in motion immediately. He directed that an additional helicopter be included in case of malfunctions, and then it was out of his hands and JSOC took over.

Obama was worried that too many people knew about the pending operation and the location of the compound to delay taking action. He nixed the air attack because it would have killed everyone in the house and there would never have been proof that Bin Laden was there. Not even the military would have known. We now know there were something like 23 children in the house, and 9 women, I believe, who are in the custody of the Pakistanis and being returned to their country(ies) of origin.

I think Obama was up for the 3am call.

Wow, interesting information. You are always so well read. Obama really had guts to take such a big risk in order to proceed with the ground raid. I appreciate that he did not want to just kill everyone indiscriminately, especially the children, and then not even be sure that Bin Laden was actually dead. I remember hearing our former commander in chief, when interviewed about the killing of innocent civilians, state that they were "collateral" damage.

  16. Keeping, Thanks for all the pictures. I am so proud of our Commander in Chief! I love that my girl, Hilary, was a part of this coup. I would have gone back to my working 24/7 days for a candidate if she had won the nomination. But I guess its good that I did not have to, because I am probably too old to do that anymore?

    Obama did good.

  17. George W. Bush had his moment in the sun when he declared his "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED," eight years ago. That was the announcement that he was entitled to make.

The credit rightly belongs to Obama, who initiated this operation and was in charge of it all the way to its fruition, the military and especially the Navy Seals who put their lives on the line to fulfill this operation. It is a victory for President Obama. Bravo for our intelligent young president! Bush had nothing to do with this specific operation!
