  1. Fear, I'll get there someday. I'm not that worried about it, assuming Clay continues to hold every year. Living so far away, my priorities are different. I'm not upset, just frustrated sometimes. Merrieeee, I got a package today!! *insert a happy, jumping and/or dancing smilie here*
  2. I've never been fortunate enough to attend a Gala. I live in the northwest, so it's the cost of airfare that is so prohibitive for me...topping it off I don't live in a highly populated city, so that makes the airfare even more expensive. If I drive 3 hours, I can fly out of another airport to save approx. $250-400 depending on where I'm going, but then I have to pay extra for a hotel just to fly out., and the extra gas. So, after it's all said and done, I don't really save much. I'm saving money as we speak so that hopefully I can attend next year.
  3. It's died down for now, but I'm sure it won't be for long. Sure wish we knew what his plans were, but I'm with you...I hope there is something for the ones who for whatever reason are always left out. I keep flip-flopping on whether I want to attend one or not. I'm concerned that the atmosphere is going to be like a wake. Maybe I'm overthinking...wouldn't be the first time.
  4. I enjoy reading all opinions. If everyone thought alike, the world wouldn't be a very exciting place.
  5. *Makes note to self to buy Powerball ticket on the way home from work*
  6. Oh my, he's really desperate to sell. Why am I not rich? That's just totally nuts! That's almost getting low enough for the fans to chip in and buy it...and I don't think for a minute that somebody hasn't thought about it lol!
  7. I'm just taking this roller coaster ride one day at a time.
  8. Thanks Merrieeee! I have your check ready to drop in the mail after work. Maybe he did say something to the dinner attendees. I don't know a single one of them, so I haven't heard anything one way or the other. I agree, it is what it is. luckiest, I hope your dog and cat are going to be ok! The unknown is what's frightening everyone I think. I really hope it doesn't cast a negative pall over the Gala.
  9. Kim, I saw that. You gave it a good shot, and I had to giggle when I kept seeing that particular line show up. I love cheese...cheddar makes it better!
  10. I have no words. (Insert hair pulling emoticon here)
  11. Yeah, I figured it was probably an iPad issue. Thanks! I really need to take a Photoshop class. I've always used Paint Shop Pro, but in the early days I used a scaled down version of Photoshop...Elements maybe? It never would work right on my computer, and that's when I started using PSP. Time to hit the hay. It's nice to be back.
  12. Thanks Idy, that's what I've done, but the only options that show up for me are "Attach Files". The "Enable emoticons" box is checked. I've been bolding the old way...just good ole HTML code haha! It may be an iPad issue, so I'll try it on my laptop tomorrow. Thanks for your help. I'm a bit partial to the bottom two...but anything will do. They're all so adorable.
  13. Idy I think that's nice you bring stuff over. I haven't been to many of Clays concerts, and didn't make it to Spamalot, Drowsy, or Joseph. I appreciate the thought and effort. Happy Birthday Aikim! So...a stupid question: Are there no options for formatting like bolding and no smilies?
  14. This fandom would make one heck of a master's thesis or doctoral dissertation. I wish someone would do it.
  15. Couch, the "travel being referred to in the blog, is for the special event (s) that Clay is planning. It's being assumed that there will be at least one, possibly more of these and fans may have to travel. I'm sure at least some of the worry is caused by the prospect of losing this "culture". Clay was part of most of our lives for 10 years, and the thought of that disappearing is terrifying for some. If you really stop to think about it, we learned how to navigate message boards, traveled to places we never thought we'd go, made friends, shared hotel rooms with complete strangers...the list goes on. After Idol, how many of us ran to our computers and sat for hours and hours. Remember The Aiken Diet? *g* It's making me a little weepy just writing this. While I remember all the fun and wonderful memories, at issue is the potential that we will no longer be making new memories. That, I believe, is why people are worrying and hurting. I'm glad I stopped in here today
  16. It looks like the decor has changed a bit, or maybe it's just been so long since I've been here I've forgotten. I meant to say in my post above that it's been quite a roller coaster of emotions this week. I know that for me, I've experienced a few tears and upset at the prospect of Clay not performing anymore. But today, I'm feeling more at peace. Carry on...just dropping my two cents off.
  17. Hello FCA! Gosh, I haven't been here in so long. Just wanted to stop by for a moment and say hi. Clay is like a box of chocolates...you never know what your gonna get. Wherever his path leads, I just want him to be happy. It is what it is. I'm actually feeling quite zen about things...at least for today. Who knows what tomorrow will bring lol!
  18. This is the most difficult choice for me...but I'm thinking I have to go with #2. *sigh*
  19. #2!! I'm such a sucker for that profile!
  20. #1 for me! I gotta agree with muski on this. There were lots of fine stage door pictures, but I love his expression in the first one too.
  21. I've always loved #1 and would have chosen that, but Clay and that little baby just turned me to mush.
  22. #1 for me! I still think it's the best he's ever looked.
  23. I have to go with #2 too....those broad shoulders!
