  1. claylove - Thank you!!! I have some news too - "Save the Date" info from BAF for the Fall Gala: Champions of Change Gala I was guessing, but already got time around that weekend booked off as vacation! Now I just have to pray that if we go on strike this year, that it doesn't last too long.
  2. Couchie, I think the thread title is terrific! Props to my buddy Claymatron for having a sentimental moment. I ordered mine from Amazon.ca and it's still telling me my order will ship this week. Quite often it's shipped on the day of release, when I buy cds. I'm surprised you're getting the "not in stock" message. annabear - My condolences about Peaches.
  3. Congrats Grandma gbmifan! Love the baby's name and what a great starting weight! I remember how excited we were almost 5 years ago when we went to get our pup. We had to drive from Toronto to Napanee (Avril Lavigne's hometown) and back in one day, but it's been so worth it. I don't know if I'll ever be without a furry family member again. I'm picking up Claymatron at the train station this morning and we'll have some time to visit before we see everyone again. It's been too long!
  4. Mark those calendars! 30 Rock Air Dates - scroll to the bottom.
  5. That looks suspiciously like an older model Roots hoodie to me! They use the "R" on a lot of their clothing.
  6. Yup! It's very funny, smart comedy. My daughter and I started watching a few months ago and just love it. In TO they air two episodes back to back on Thursday nights (rerun followed by a new ep), so it's easy to keep up with the show. They've had guest stars on that you wouldn't expect to see on TV (Elaine Stritch as Alec Baldwin's mother) and it's been hilarious. I can see Tina Fey writing a terrific role for Clay.
  7. C'mon...you know you want to read them all! You'd miss all those "romantic" scense she writes to well if you just read the companion books! If you're like me, reading them again will be much faster than the first time, because you'll remember the story as you read and then you can re-read certain chapters too...
  8. Hee! I see there's a few of us! For anyone who hasn't read them.....run! You CAN find them secondhand. I did. The library usually isn't really an option, as they're too popular. I was in Chapters on Friday and they're still selling them in paperback - I think I saw the whole series there, right up to ABOSAA. You'd probably enjoy Gabaldon's website - she's been posting excerpts of the new book An Echo in the Bone, which is tentative for a fall release. Here you go: Diana Gabaldon's Home Page
  9. omg, FromClaygary....I absolutely am in awe of Gabaldon! You know, don't you, that the next book in the series is supposed to be published this fall? I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to reread all the books again so that I'm refreshed and whatnot on all the storylines by the time it comes out. I LOVE her writing and the characters and the art of her books...all the research she's done to make it all so amazingly real and engaging. Sigh. I *heart* Jamie and lust after him, too. OMG for me too - I'm re-reading the Gabaldon books right now! I'm on Voyager again and never did read A Breath of Snow and Ashes so I have that to look forward to during this drought. Ya gotta love those red headed men!
  10. Since a number of my FB friends are members here, I wanted to warn you that you may have unwelcome guests in your system if you try a number of the "applications" available. I had a major problem on my hard drive for about 10 days, which was resolved this weekend. As it turns out, my techie godson (who custom built my hard drive) warned me that there are lots of viruses in those fun applications, so I won't be accepting any of them from you! Sorry, but after unhooking the machine and driving back and forth across the city in pouring rain on Saturday, I don't want to take the risk again. In addition to the "little" viruses he cleaned up, there was also a nasty Trojan virus attached to a main part of my operating system, that's now thankfully gone. No idea where it came from, but last week CNN was reporting that there's a FB worm out there too. BTW, I did have Norton running on the system when all this happened and have now upgraded to a different program, Kaspersky.
  11. You bet - I love catching up with my friends at the lunches! I understand there's going to be quite a few of the London ladies there this time - can't wait to see all of you! I'd be thrilled if Clay appears anywhere near Southern Ontario this summer. I am SO ready for another road trip! Lotus - We'll definitely have to make plans for a gathering, closer to your visit.
  12. luckiest1 - Hey, no problem! I don't mind taking a hit, because I know I can always change the days if we actually have plans! :28: Well, even if he isn't appearing in the area, we'll have to see if we Ontarians can get together with you when you're here! :bier:
  13. girlcanuck and headoverheels! Well, I did - sorta! I've gotten approval for my "tentative" vacation dates this year. Of course, that was with the boss who just left for a six month secondment in another dept., but I've already told his replacement that I might have to reschedule if (when?) my "reunion" plans with friends are finalized. Right now I've got May 14 and 15 (before our Victoria Day weekend) and the last week of June/first week of July off (wrapped around Canada Day) - should we start taking bets?
  14. Yes, you are! You'll see a lot of familiar Cdn names when you read the main thread.
  15. annabear - What a sweet little baboo! Hope your baby has a little Kong toy too. We found it was a great way to get our puppy through the night (filled with peanut butter) to distract her until she fell asleep - it cut down on a lot of crying. I have had the craziest computer weekend. Lots of problems ever since I downloaded Windows updates, so I'm using Firefox as my browser right now. IE just won't launch and it looks like I'm going to have to drag my hard drive across the city next weekend for my techie godson to fix. Usually he can walk me through problems over the phone, but not this time.
  16. Happy Belated Birthday tribeca! :04: Okay, I'm going to be good to travel to the US again in about two weeks! I went to the passport office this morning with my application, since my old one expires on March 31st. I hope all my Cdn friends know that you'll need one as of June 1st to cross the border by car. Since so many people in there were trying to get new ones in time for our March break, they asked if I was travelling "soon" - I said I didn't think until late April or May. I hope I'm right! :28:
  17. Me too! I actually checked to make sure that TAR was on and it is, but it's one hour earlier. I think I may watch a dvd tonight, if I get tired of channel flipping.
  18. Amen to that! Scarlett - I loved your post too. I have Clay friends on other boards who just don't understand that bricks and mortar sales of cds are just not the way the music industry is going now. I've given up trying to explain the differences to them. I'm glad that I had kids at a later age, because they're the ones who've made sure I kept up with technology, etc. As for my scrapbooking stash, well, no photos taken today, but I'll see what I can do on Sunday. I did get an amazing deal today though. I was at a grocery superstore (Loblaws) that sells just about everything and wandered down their books/craft area, rounded a corner and found an 18-piece set of Fiskars decorative scissors for $6.94! I just love them and they're the best to cut paper with.
  19. I'm glad you did! I remember it from quite a while ago and it was fun to see again. I think he's fine as the guys, but not so much as Beverley or Deanna! Claymatron - Whenever we share a bottle of wine, we clebrate! :thbighug-1:
  20. Why Miss Scarlett! - you naughty thing, you! I don't remember the last time I've enjoyed my Chardonnay as much as I have tonight (okay, maybe the last time Claymatron was over, but I digress) - yeah, I'm clebrating and I'm even having chocolate too! Oh Bella.... but, but, it wasn't I... points to tribeca, just like Sir Robin point to Patsy about the elderberries *hides face* Begins writing 500 times... I will not read smut into everything... *looks back at the scruffy Clay picture, sighs, gives up and crumples sheet* Resistance is futile...
  21. Why Miss Scarlett! - you naughty thing, you! I don't remember the last time I've enjoyed my Chardonnay as much as I have tonight (okay, maybe the last time Claymatron was over, but I digress) - yeah, I'm clebrating and I'm even having chocolate too!
  22. Indeed you do! You're on a slippery slope now, I tell ya! Love your colour choices, BTW and I think your quilt choices are pretty. Don't think I'll post any pictures of all my scrapbooking goodies though - I'm scared to think of how much I've got in accordion folders!
  23. luckiest1! Scarlett - Great - it would be great to hang out for a weekend! We'll have to see what we can do about getting together with the other "northern" FCAs too!
  24. Adde to the list of interested buyers! Claymatron can tell you how disappointed I was back at the Toronto CD party in May when I didn't win the Sir Robin bear we had in our BAF raffle.
  25. You've gotta read Phil's blog from EW: TAR Host Episode 1 Blog I just loved his reference to "cheese bombs"!
