  1. Small Clay mention at the end of the live interview about Clay in the show when it was on Broadway

    http://www.myfoxla.com/dpp/good_day_..._GDLA_20090701

    CLICK ON THE VIDEO

JMHO I think it would be nice if just once someone from the cast of Spamalot would acknowledge that there were Clay fans who showed support for him when he came out. I seem to remember seeing a SD video with many fans with flowers, cards, balloons ect.. Why doens't anyone ever mention them?

  2. soulsista, I'm with you on that. Just how much money does anyone need or want? I hope I don't offend any multimillionaires here.

    I am truly offended!

A belated Happy Birthday, Fear! Hope you got lots of toys and goodies, and cake and ice cream!

Somehow, I think that Idol is slowly sinking, and paying gazillions to Simon Cowell isn't going to make or break it. The thing Idol has going for it is the shared experience factor. Hearing so much during the past few days about the shared experience phenomena that is now gone, wherein families sat down as a unit in front of the TV and watched The Beatles on Ed Sullivan or Michael Jackson on Motown25. I thought, nope, that isn't completely gone -- there's still American Idol. At least the year I watched Clay on Idol, my parents watched, I watched, my kids watched, my grandchildren watched, my sister and my friends watched -- we may not have been in the same room, but we talked about it on the phone and discussed it at work, and at family get togethers. Idol is the one lingering television experience that appeals to all ages in mass numbers, but the numbers are trending down. I don't recall having, or overhearing, even one conversation at the office about Idol during the entire 8th season. I know one girl who has always been crazy about Idol and a fan of Daughtry and David Cook -- I asked her just a couple of weeks ago if she had watched Idol this season and she said, "Yeah, but it sucked. Every season at least one of them appeals to me eventually, but not this year." My view is that Idol has plateaued. It will continue on, unless there is something that happens to turn people off enmasse, but Simon or no Simon, it's trending down.

I watched something on PBS recently about the early days of television, and Arthur Godfrey's show was profiled. He had the No. 1 show in the country for a few years and was riding high, until he chewed someone out on camera and fired him on live TV. The audience was incensed, flooded the network with telegrams and letters, and stopped watching. When the ratings plummeted, Godfrey made a big deal over rehiring the fellow and making up, but it was too late and the show was cancelled in a matter of weeks. It could happen to Idol ... smugness and ego are part of Simon's calling card, but they're the things that could just as easily bring him down in the twinkling of an eye. Personally, I think he has a shelf life. He's become as repetitive and predictable as everything else on the show.

I think watching Simon's downfall would be awesome actually  His would probably just be for ratings though.

I still like the show just not as much as in the past. I like the contestants being the stars not the judges or the host.

Also we watch the show and they get us to care about the contestants and then the next season if they didn't sell a bajillion cds the show treats them like the are no good. I still care about them & want to see them do well. I really think there is room for a lot of different people & different music in the entertainment industry. Also not everyone is going to be Kelly/Carrie or Clay success. But to see people able to make a living doing something they love is what I like & I believe that makes them successful :)

  3. Has anyone seen my stapler? I miss my stapler....

    Welcome SueReu and Claysmelody!

I've been off this weekend...having a life. 6 mile bike ride yesterday (before it got hot), plus a hair cut, and then watched the movie "Milk" (fantastic film, Sean Penn deserved that Oscar, I feel). Today -- gorgeous day so my husband and I finally found the local Frisbee Golf Course. Loads of fun, but now I'm BEAT!

Ooooh, time to put the chicken on the grill...

    impressive :)

It is a nice day today. Yesterday we went out for a bike ride to try out some new gearing. We only went about 40miles but the hills seem to be easier with the set up. Hopefully when we go on our next tour in July the big hills will at least not feel like I am going to vomit by the time we get to the top. You can only hyperventilate so long!

Today this am it looked like it was going to rain so we did not ride. We needed some exercise so we just got back from a 4 mile walk. The wind would of been wicked to bike in. It is around 30 mile per hour gusts.

I wish Clay would come out and play. Miss him.

looks like when Clay's away everyone gets all their exercise. some women from my work are starting a walking group on Monday nights. We all feel we need to do something & we can all be there to motivate each other.

Kind of a neat story people from the Extreme make over show came in the store I work in. they were shopping for about 5 hours! The bought over $13,000 worth of stuff. Of course this all happened on my day off. The people they are doing the maker over for have 13 children and are Suffield, CT. The episode is suppose to air sometime this fall.

  4. wow

don't come here in a while and there are 7 pages (I think??) of pages to go through.

I missed something & I am okay with that. I wanted to share with you a friend who came back. She is a college aged Clay fan. has been since AI2. She is also a Christian. She said she never stopped being a fan but the support thread at the OFC confused her greatly & did not help her at all. She recently starting posting again at the AI boards. She said she just needed a little time is all & she loves Clay & all that he is :)

Micheal Jackson, Farrah and Ed McMahon all in what a week? So many at one time.

The radio stations have been playing so much of Micheal's music. I have forgotten how much I liked his music.

I do hope the press leaves his family alone & lets him RIP.

One reporter from Rolling Stones yesterday said MJ's music is live on but it would take a 50 years for people to just appreciate his music (the Legend he is) & forgot all the other stuff that over shadowed his music in his later years.

  5. djs, they all look like cats. Are you trying to fool us? :wordpooper:

I also think Clay realizes that he is not going to appeal to the youngest and/or coolest demographic. Christmas can be uncool and everyone will buy. I'm another who thinks he will either do a tour or cd along with the book. He may, in fact, do all three. Personally, I think he is cool by doing what he likes no matter what critics say. But then again no one pays to hear my opinion.

It was in the nineties here and humid but fortunately we are painting indoors with air conditioning. I;ve been watching my weight too keepingfaith, but so far I'm happy with watermelon.

I don't know why so many people think Clay doesn't have young fans (including himself) I myself know lots of Clay fans who are preteens, teenagers and college students.

I've always thought of Clay as "so uncool, he's cool." How exactly does that happen? Well, to me, it's because he's secure in who he is. He's not afraid to show the dorky side, he's not afraid to show his caring side, he's not afraid to show his sexy side. And he's a person who has all those sides, plus more.

People who are traditionally considered "cool" are people that, to me, are play acting. They're trying to fit in. I've never seen Clay in this light at all. He's himself, take him or leave him, and damn the torpedoes. Those who get it -- like us -- revel in his own brand of coolness. The rest? Ah, forget about 'em. All that really matters to me is that I love Clay Aiken.

One of the college girls last year said that about Clay. She was going to make him a t-shirt that said

The new cool is the uncool

Maybe Clay will be one of those artists like Neil Diamond who sells some many cd's yet no one likes him!

  6. Justclay says I'm supposed to post this cuz she's too chicken (of what, I'm not sure...)

Clay is currently 11th of 12 Idols:

    http://votefair.org/american_idol_ballot.html

    :(

Re: the Christmas book thing...

I voted this morning although I really don't think the polls mean anything. When I voted this morning Carrie was really low & she is one of the most successful idols right now.

What is that ace mean for the Christmas thing?

Canfly should I be insulted you didn't try to send me a pm?

  7. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhh!!! Clay must have misunderstood my FB post....I'm leaving TOMORROW for New Brunswick, with very little computer access, Clay, not today! :hysterical:

    CHEST HAIR!!!

....and did you notice his luggage tag? That's gotta be a gift from a fan who will be thrilled to see it. :)

.....and MY favorite glasses. merrieeee

    Eeeeeeeeehhhhhh!!!!

....and did anyone notice the JustJared photographer seems either to know what we like....or have the same fetishes him/herself?? :hysterical:

no I didn't notice but what else is new

Why do you think it is from a fan?

    :GM_FCA:

121 Day until The BAF Gala! :yahoo:

    Everyone have a great day!

    Kim

    thanks Kim :)

HBD, couchie!!! (& hope the Gala trip works out!)

    :happybirthday05:

    ditto

    Happy Birthday :)

  8. Can I possibly be the only one that doesn't like looking at some of those photos?

 I totally missed it at first

because I was looking at his pretty face :) then I read your post and went back. Yeah I not very obserant.

But, my absolutely favorite feature of Clay's is his green eyes so I always notice them first.

I'm guessing Clay's book will be a family memoir ala the story by fellow North Carolinian David Sedaris: Dress Your Family In Corduroy and Denim. Only Clay's version will be titled Dress Your Family in Hoodies and Tutus.

    :cryingwlaughter:

  9. Begin rant...

I've just spent a half hour I'll never get back, over at the OFC. Good Lord.

In the question thread,I can't even understand what they're asking much of the time; I understand the difficulty, and admire the people trying for whom English is not a first language~but for those for whom it appears to be...or some form of it at any rate......many of them are completely unintelligible. WTH??

No wonder he isn't answering questions anymore. The one or two good and interesting ones are buried in the 10,000 nonsensical/misspelled/lack of grammar/WTF ones!

One person in the "Clay's store" thread has suggested a "grill with Clay's new teeth" for the store. Are you f****ing kidding me? If that was intended to be amusing...it's not. Others have suggested items that already exist in the store. The point being.......that they didn't bother to look first?? Now there's a selling point!

Given that Clay's said this is the only board he reads (not that I believe him, really)....how f***ing embarassing!! He must think we're ALL a bunch of morons!

    End rant...

Sorry....just had to get that out. <_<

    :loveclaysbutt:

I understood all the questions I asked even if I don't have the best grammar.

I haven't even visisted the store thread. I only visited there (the store) maybe twice and both times it kicked me off the board.

Although I don't think it is funny I think my niece and nephew saying somene is up in the grill where we use to say they were all up in my face. So I guess that's the joke even though it's stupid.

Couchie good luck to your nephew

and good luck to everyone who has graduating family members this summer :)

  10. I have no problem with anything that Clay has said or anything that Adam has said.

I like ALL crotches, snake-adorned and otherwise.

Wanda someday I hope you come out of your shell and tell us how you really feel.

I went to see Huey Lewis & the news tonight. What a fun concert. The band was so awesome but every time I go to a concert I miss concert Clay!

Sorry I forget who here likes David Cassidy but he is going to have a free show at Mohegan Sun this summer. I think I only know one song by him. The Patridge family one since my nephew sang that for his preschool graduation (he is 13 and I still remember him singing that :) )

Does anyone think Clay is on a Unicef trip right now?

  11. :GA_FCA: Scarlett here (on merrieeee's new laptop):

We (KAndre, Solo, merrieeee and I) are here in merrieeee's kitchen and we all just realized that we couldn't name the top 3 of every AI season, tried top 2 and still missed some, and then tried to name all the winners and we came up short of 8. Just shows the relative importance of some things...

    Wish y'all were here!!! :BlowKiss:

I think that is against some kind of rule isn't it? I won't report you though.

    1. Kelly/Justin/Nicki

    2. Ruben/Clay/Kim L.

    3. Fantasia/Diana/Jasmine

    4. Carrie/Bo/Vonzell (sp)

    5. Taylor/Katherine/Elliott

    6. Jordan/Blake/Melinda

    7. David C/David A./Syesha (who I just met last Wednesday at Mohegan Sun she is so sweet. I was so bummed she let me tape her saying hi to my niece (w/my mom's old camera) and I downloaded no sound :( )

    8. KRIS/Adam/Danny

    Talk about "Lost in Translation"...

    I get that a lot

  12. I'm too tired to think. Thank goodness I have kf (well-said!!!) to think for me!!! I think I already put in over 50 hours this week and it's only Thursday. So I'll just wish you all a good evening and lurk in and out tonight -- s owell, unless the cute one starts sending questionr requests again.

    Love you all!!! MUAH! :BlowKiss:

    :GE_FCA:

    ETA:

    :lovebutt:

I am here what questions do you have?

I was just lurking because I was in awe of Keeping Faith's post! and I surprisingly was left speechless

  13. What? Susan Boyle lost? LOL. My head has been buried in work all weekend and heard about it on my sports station today. This just ain't the year for front runners is it.

I honestly don't care that someone is stealing Clay's blogs. It's just a given and and it could be anyone. Honestly, it bothers me more that Clay fans are still following J P's every move and putting his name and Clay's together every chance they get. Nobody out there cares that Clay has a "stalker" and can't believe nothing has been learned in 6 years about Clay. He doesn't need to be defended to the death. It's just so annoying. It's nasty out there too. I totally agree about the fan wars Claymatron. I think that's a little of the reason I quit as well.

Congrats Smitten on your weight loss!! That's fantastic.

What was so sad about what Nigel said is that it was SO childish. He's like a sixteen year old boy still giggling over something he doesn't understand. I hate that he put the stain on the show - which is in most cases fabulous. Maybe he was behind all that Ryan/Simon nonsense.

I have read Clay's blog on other sites a few times in the past years. TWOP use to post parts of them a lot until a MOD made them stop.

Speaking of Idol contestants and stalkers Diana from season 3 stalker is finanlly going to jail

Australian Woman Sentenced For Cyber-Stalking âAmerican Idolâ Contestant

Pollstar Mon, 01 Jun 2009 00:36 AM PDT

Some people really need to get a life of their own. Like the woman recently sentenced in Australia for the online stalking of 2004 âAmerican Idolâ runner-up, Diana DeGarmo . 482625 The stalker is Tanya Maree Quattrocchi. The 23-year-old Australian pleaded guilty earlier this month to four charges of cyber-stalking after police arrested her for hacking into DeGarmoâs MySpace account and ...

  14. I bet goldarngirl hs something for him

Hee. I PM'ed him about our DVDs, just in case he hasn't found what he is looking for yet.

I know it's probably nothing like this, but I'd love it if he was thinking along those lines for another Christmas tour again. Ha ha, can you imagine the crap that would get flung at him? Last time it wasn't pretty, and I still see red if I read a flippant post referring to "the work" in a condescending way. Cuz I freaking loved the JNT05.

I'm SOOOO excited for you and goldarngirl!! If it were me, I would LOVE to know he's visited my website (that I don't have  ) and/or watched the montages I worked so hard on! Eeeeeeeehhhh!!!

Wow, love his answer to the Prop 8 question. Love his candor. Here I sit, in the dark, hitting refresh. Not exactly how I planned to spend my evening, but I'm not complaining!

WHAT FUN!!! I absolutely loved his Prop 8 answer as well; completely agree with him. I watched Dr Phil this aft, which I NEVER do and his whole show was about the arguments for/against same sex marriage. The NC part of the response was a little sad, though. :(

LOVED his answer about his sense of humor as well.

Oh, MAN I hope he's planning to get out on the road in some way, shape or form!

who would ask that question. Is their an angel with a halo here for me.

although I wanted him to answer my other question about if he would consider auctioning off a chance for a fan to dress him a day. Can you imagine the donations for that!!

All for the children of course.

  15. things I don't understand about Clay Aiken fans

how they think $250.00 is a cheap ticket

how they are so good at filming every concert in every angle possible

how they can be so support to such wonderful causes & have such kind hearts but no one but those in the circle see it

things I don't understand about non-Clay Aiken fans

how they don't see the talent & goodness that is Clay Aiken

  16. Can someone tell me how wrapping for inclusion started?

Why was Barnes & Noble chosen?

    any info would be great!

    thanks

I'm not sure how exactly it started; it might have been a fan initiative that the Foundation approved of.

We do our wrapping at Barnes & Noble because we did not have a good experience at Borders and Barnes & Noble is happy to have us and works with us on hours and is very supportive.

Barnes & Noble is not the only store...some do wrapping in Malls...it really is up to the Coordinator to find the sites and set it up. I really think it is a matter of just hitting stores and seeing who is interested.

    Kim

    Kim

    Thanks Kim

I think I told you I work at TJMAXX/Homegoods. I told my boss about this program at first she thought I was going to RAP a song  which would rasie nothing.

She gave me the 800 number to call and see if we can do it at our store. I need to wait until BAF officially changes it's name though since it would just be easier to get approved (I mean I don't want to go through the whole process of getting approved & then the name changes & have to go through the process again if that makes sense)
