  1. I am so happy to see all the excitement building around the Reno concert! My mom keeps asking me if its time yet. lol

Just FYI, in case you know anyone looking for tickets. My friend and I both bought tickets so we have 3 extras to sell. They are in Section F, Row 4, Seats 2, 3 and 4 on the inner aisle. These are E-Tickets and we are open to selling them as singles or a pair as well.

Fear - I *think* Clay does have a hybrid... I don't remember which one but I am thinking BMW or Mercedes for some reason??

I loved the article about the photo shoot and how Clay himself scouted the locations. I am so happy he has a label that understands him and supports his visions. He has definitely earned that.

  2. Not too many going to Asheville? I won a three nights in the NC mountains from the Gala. It said one hour outside Asheville. I'll probably call and make a reservation for it then. Hopefully it's available. Plenty of room if anyone needs a place. But it is pretty secluded and is for nature lovers: biking and hiking or just looking. treadmill.gif

I wrestled with the Asheville concert because so many of my friends will be there but when Reno came up I knew it was the best choice for me. Reno is just a short drive away. The summer time is our busiest time of the year at work so I am not sure if I could get enough time off to go to Asheville and the expense to go was really adding up for just one concert. It's more important to me to go the gala in October and I probably couldn't do both, so I am going to pass on Asheville and go to the gala. By October I should have no trouble getting a few days off from work. Fortunately, I have awesome friends who completely understand my choice :-)

Luckiest1, I had already planned to spend some quality time with some clack this weekend! I understand Clay's reasons and glad they were respected but man I would love some mp3s from the PBS taping!

    Happy Friday Everyone!!!

  3. I will be at the Reno concert along with a friend from CV and also my mama!! yahoo.gif She loves Clay's music but hasn't seen him live since the I-Tour and has never truly experienced "the enthusiasm of the fandom" so this will be her induction. clay.gif Please be gentle. hahahaha... I just got her on facebook a few months ago and she has some claymates on her friends list and I swear she reads or watches everything they post about Clay. I haven't introduced her to any boards yet though. My parents and I live together and when she saw I posted about the Reno concert on FB, she met me at the door when I got home from work, jumping up and down like a school girl chanting, "I wanna go, I wanna go!!" I was cracking up! I would love to take her to a pre/post gathering if anyone sets one up.

A week ago I didn't know how I was gonna manage to get to one of these shows and I now I have tickets! I am so excited!!! twinklewhore.gif

  4. Just going through the archives around here, and found this, from the Tavern on the Green presentation to Clay last year:

Those who attended the show last week should recognize the lady...Linda Eder. Pretty cool, eh?

Speaking of Linda Eder... am I the only one who didn't know that she was a former Star Search champion (in the 80's) before finding success on Broadway? Hee! Wonder if they compared notes?

I really can't wait to hear the recorded version of their duet (and to hear the live version again. and again. and again).

I watched her on Star Search when I was a teen!! I can remember the whole family watching and my Dad loved her voice. We were all cheering for her :-)

  5. Just checking in... I am in Greensboro, NC at georgiesmybaby's house :)

We are headed to Raleigh later this morning. There was a time when I didn't know if I could be here for this; I am soooo... excited that I am! Loving the interviews! Got up early and am streaming WRAL-FM waiting to hear the interview with Lynda Loveland, so he probably won't be on until 9 or something. hahahaha

    See everyone later :)

  6. (((Annabear))) I so feel your pain about the upper respiratory thing. I am on my second round of antibiotics trying to get rid of a really bad sinus infection. I have been fighting this for about five weeks now. I went to the dr. on Monday and she took me out of work for Tuesday and Wednesday to rest and I am supposed to go back to work tomorrow. That should be interesting seeing as how I literally have no voice today! I *think* I am a little bit better though. georgiesmybaby had just asked me yesterday if I knew if you were okay because we hadn't seen you post much lately. I had no idea you were so sick, but glad you are on the mend. I am also sad though that you won't be at the PBS concert taping. You will be missed!

    Happy Birthday Luckiest1! :confetti2:

  7. I am feeling horrible, miserable, sore throat, head stuffed up, nose dripping and we still haven't heard anything about the 12th.

I took the plunge and booked the shuttle to Seattle, overnite hotel, plane tickets for the next day and I still won't get in until after 700pm but I will be there for whatever it is that's happening.

I desperately need to be cheered up.

Clay must be feeling really PO'd by now...he promised his fans news 3 days ago and has had to watch us getting more and more restless as the days go by.

Hope you can get some rest this weekend. I've been battling a sinus infection myself for the last 3 weeks. Lots of people getting sick this year. In addition to liquids, the cool mist humidifier has really been helping me to sleep. Feel better :-)

Glad you will be able to make it for the 12th!!

  8. What in the world is wrong with people??? Wait... nevermind don't answer that.

I believe it was once referred to as ENF Syndrome. :hahaha:

I'm glad he actually spoke up about the crappy behaviour instead of just sucking it up all the time.

I hope the people it was meant for recognize themselves and take heed. Not really gonna hold my breath though.

Honestly though, you'd think Faye would be a little wiser less naive after almost 7 years.

Not one of Faye's finest moments I grant you but she has kept some pretty important secrets for Clay...like the fact that he was gay and a certain little boy's impending birth...she must have bursting at the seams with that one!

    Kim

I don't blame Faye. She made the mistake of saying too much; something I think we all have done one time or another. But I do not understand the need to hound her & others instead of letting Clay tell us when it was ok to do so. We are all excited & I hate that his was dampered. I just hope this didn't cause him any problems w/ Decca or the people doing the PBS special.
