Oh to heck with it........I really don't like that picture!

Now I love, love, love Perma's Kalamazoo pic!

    1. What if he looks like that during the show?

Promise not to fling the phone at him!... Remember, it has all of our numbers!.... Wait a sec, what's wrong with that?... No, actually it has all of YOUR numbers, except mine! *sob*... Well, it has my iphone number... ok, fling the phone at him... LOL!

Permaswooned, so very glad to see that you're feeling better! See you Friday!!! (ps. your number's on the phone too!)

  2. Welcome, claytonic!!!

Oh, we tell ourselves (and others) lots and LOTS of things...we won't do this....we don't need that...we ain't going there...we mean it at the time. Really we do. But...KAndre looks around shiftily...Clay neeeeeeeeeeds me! Or it's all Scarlett's fault. Or I can stop anytime I want...I just don't wanna RIGHT now. Maybe tomorrow.

Yep, we really really mean it! :cryingwlaughter:

    Time for more eHP conversations:

So, are we all squared away on rooms and transportation?

We might be changing some things on the fly on Sunday if the hotel rates drop but we won't be sleeping on the street.

    Should I bring a laptop?

Only if you want to contribute to the small electronics convention in our rooms. There will be plenty of laptops if you don't feel like lugging yours around.

    Lots of money for booze?

Half of us don't usually drink alcohol. We are just naturally disorderly without the drunken part. But we can always use the cash for bail if KAndre can't make nice with the authority figures. Really, it's not too late for you to run.

Okay, I know you guys have tickets to Friday night and Saturday night, but what are you doing Sunday? I have Friday night, Saturday night and I have a ticket to Sunday night. Anyone else?
I'm planning on seeing something other than Spamalot on Sunday. I'm going to try my luck at rush tickets for Wicked. If I don't win the lottery, then I'll head over to the TKTS booth and see what they have available. I think KAndre and Scarlett were planning on seeing Spamalot again on Sunday but I don't know if they were going for the matinee or the evening show.

I'm going to see Spamalot again? Why don't y'all tell me these things?

  3. ps. goldarngirl, I did put up lots of Canandaigua last night...

What am I, chopped liver? :cryingwlaughter:

Luckiest1, I missed this last night!!! I'm so sorry -- I forgot that you need Canandaigua too. *hunts for more of that dark chocolate with cranberries for a peace offering* (Though...after goldarngirl posted that WAMLAW-LOML-GH_UM file today, I'm completely hers to command --- after Clay of course!)

  4. Since it was an Algebra class, didn't she need to give the expressions instead of the answers? (ie. 74 is easy to guess but what if the sum were 3530?)

    a. Since these are consecutive odd integers, they can be expressed as:

    1st odd integer = 2x + 1

    next odd integer = 2x + 3

    b. The sum of the squares is 74, so:

    (2x+1)(2x+1) + (2x+3)(2x+3) = 74

    4x2 + 4x + 1 + 4x2 + 12x + 9 = 74

    . . .

    8x2 + 16x - 64 = 0

    c. Using the quadratic formula & taking only the positive root:

    20b5c8ea2b121de2a00f8dd56c50c874.png

    x = (-16 + 48 ) / 16 = 2

So the integers are (2x + 1) = 5 and (2x+3) = 7 (same answers but with an 'algebraic' solution)

ETA: Oh Gibby, thanks for making him bigger!!! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

  5. Looking forward to seeing/hearing Clack of this tomorrow, so I searched out the lyrics.

Get Here (If You Can) lyrics

You can reach me by railway, you can reach me by trailway

You can reach me on an airplane, you can reach me with your mind

You can reach me by caravan, cross the desert like an Arab man

I don't care how you get here, just- get here if you can

You can reach me by sailboat, climb a tree and swing rope to rope

Take a sled and slide down slow, into these arms of mine

You can jump on a speedy colt, cross the border in a blaze of hope

I don't care how you get here, just- get here if you can

There are hills and mountains between us

    Always something to get over

If I had my way, then surely you would be closer

    I need you closer

    (interlude, then repeat bridge)

You can windsurf into my life, take me up on a carpet ride

You can make it in a big balloon, but you better make it soon

You can reach me by caravan, cross the desert like an Arab man

I don't care how you get here, just- get here if you can

I don't care, I dont care, I need you right here right now

I need you right here, right now, right by my side (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)

I don't care how you get here, just- get here if you can.

    G'Night!

Oh my heart, he sang this?!!! I miss him so much. :cry4: Please let there be Clack!!!

  6. And at some point, I will start digging through my flatware drawer for sporks....what's a good deadline for Xmas song analysis?

The day after Scarlett puts her audio up? *ducks*

OMG thanks for reminding me...and yes...waiting for Scarlett too...(I guess blaming scarlett will always be a good excuse...)

Erm, KAndre, could you get after Scarlett about her audio? Purty please? 'Cuz I have a few choices made already, but I'm waiting for Scarlett's wonderful clack to be available. And I will need a little more time than a day after her stuff goes up, because I work and sometimes have evening rehearsals, so may not be able to get to it right away.

    :RedGuy:

    Scarlett - :F_05BL17blowkiss:

I knew there was something I was supposed to be doing..oh right, I can just blame Scarlett too heee. :F_05BL17blowkiss: Scarlett.

Shamefacedly LOL! Uh, I was going to post something last night but the board was down... *ok, I give up. even I couldn't say that with a look of indignant innocence*

Can I blame somebody cute for wearing that black shirt and looking stunningly handsome today? I was going to get some work done but all I can do is stare, stare, stare.... & stare some more. Oh, ok, I'm leaving now. Solo's threatening to never relieve me on Clack-gathering duties agan because it just goes to "my personal stash" instead of to the vault. See, I'm going now! Hear the footsteps moving away... *looks back to take one last peek. And melts...Uh, if any other golf Clack shows up, you'll tell me, won't you? Won't you? -- crickets--- *

Oh, please let there be audio from tonight?!! *cries* Why oh why did I spend the last 12 years either giving away my free tix to the Shell Houston Open or sitting in the tent with the all-day-buffet reading a book?!!!

ps. goldarngirl, I did put up lots of Canandaigua last night...

  7. Gibby, love the way you decorate! Can you give me some advice on a fixing a new pad?

Artquest, I'm attending an 5-session HPD seminar on self-defense for women starting next week but I bet they don't hold a candle to your 11 ways. Care to train this grasshopper?

FromClaygary, no problem at all on colorways! Would you pls share some pics of your work from time to time?

cha cha trusty, I don't process commercial movies but I'd assume that some of those have encryption or regional coding issues.

  8. I hear tell there may be a few folks from Houston braving the possible cold to come to opening night....

Darn we were hoping to keep a low profile!!

So glad to see this post from you... and even happier to report that I found your opening night ticket last night -- I didn't want to cause extra stress for you by reporting it was missing. All's well that ends well, right? Eeeeee! Less than 2 weeks now...

    Kareneh, I love you! :woman::woohoo:

  9. No, I thought maybe you would know people in Texas interested from a social or activist point of view. In one case, she just needed an adult to supervise kids who do the actual wrapping. Or several people to volunteer to do it for a day or so. There are people who are not necessarily Clay fans, but who enjoy participating in these things, and that was my only reason for posting it here.

Actually, you're right! I know some people I can coerce convince to help. That's a great idea!

Muski, I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!

  10. If the Lord has mercy and the crick don't rise, I'll get my South Bend album finished tonight/tomorrow/Friday/by the weekend. I'm having a good time in there, I must say.

    238649557-L.jpg

Ooooh, yummy pictures! I loved how Clay looked at the beginning of the tour. :hubbahubba:

    Scarlett, your hat lives! heee.

I fell asleep sitting up on the couch last night and can't believe I just slept all night. Normally I'm up at least twice.

    Wheeeee! Thanks! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Yes, couches (and couchies :) ) are very comfy. Been doing a lot of that lately too!

A small Birthday books update has been placed in the book list thread, here...
Wow, great job, Rohdy!!! And what a nice bookplate.

eHP, I have told hubby about Feb 4th and I think I can make it. Look forward to seeing everyone. :)

    Eeeee, can't wait!

    He Blogged!!! :cryingwlaughter:

(does one sentence a blog make??) :imgtongue:

    alspazz is here?!! How did I miss you before? {{{Hugs}}}}

Clay's such a cutie. I bet he IS working his tush off.

Just needed to quote this. :)

Why did I log off after lunch? Could have had a much happier afternoon after reading that... but it's such a cute blog it was worth the wait!

Does anyone know how to keep blog comments from cutting off in mid-line? I wanted to say "I hope you get some rest too." but that random snipper turned it into:

    "I hope you get some

    rest too."

He's going to think I'm smutting on his blog.

I really would like to help with WFI but doesn't this happen in November/December? I'm usually not in Texas unless I have to work or have a graduation or something to attend. (Also, I tend to wrap rather unconventionally)

If I weren't drowning in Clack work I'd upload some rehearsal clips to YouTube just to picture what sort of things Clay's doing right now -- I have some Miss Saigon, Les Mis (that turntable was a killer!) and The Secret Garden (in case there are other fans of these shows, I can copy them for you but it'll be a while)

  11. Sure, a lot of us laughed at her in May when she opened her eyes really wide, blinked innocently, and assured us that really, Minnesota isn't that cold in December. Yet there we were freezing our asses off 7 months later. They did have lots of cute guys there and we found the best restaurant called Hell's Kitchen so I guess she was right. This time.

Let's see how long it takes for her to post something about Clio and then I'll remind her about Pensacola

But...but...but I was very well-behaved in Minnesota! Didn't breathe a word of "Best Buy" or "Circuit City" at all, even after <someone> dropped the HD camcorder's backup battery somewhere in Orchestra Hall. And Michigan was a lot colder than Minnesota -- KAndre actually exposed some skin to the elements. Didn't say 'Clio' until Merrillville. Didn't mention that couchie left the hat that playbiller brought all the way from NJ to Vegas... back home. Didn't even ask to go the *sniff* rides at the Mall of America. Didn't hog the strawberries at The Melting Pot (pineapples yes, but not the strawberries). And... Oh admit it, we had lots of fun, despite the bout of food poisoning (See, did any of you get food poisoning at White Castle?!! And you take me to the News Room with the bar with lots of creepy, ok good-looking but creepy, guys and what do xena, PerusingOne and I end up with?). Awww, we'd do it again in a heartbeat. Today if possible. You all miss the cute guy as much as I do. I know you do! Life is so much better when we end a year with a Clearwater concert. Is it really two whole weeks until Spamalot?

I'll try to make dinner with Muski and the gang but Asian New Year is the following Thursday and my mom usually has me running around for days beforehand so I can't commit to anything yet.

    <snip>

:hugs-1: everyone!!! Even if you haven't been having a difficult time, you never know when you'll need one.

Thanks! We'll need that if you don't come -- so come!!! We'll help cover for you, making all the appropriate noises when you're on the phone and all!

I could care less about golf, but Florida sounds good right now. It's a toasty 12° with a windchill of 2° this evening. 10.gif
It's not exactly warm here either. It's 46° right now in Miami with a windchill of 39°. We may dip into the 30s tonight. It's cold. BRRRRR.

It's in the 30's over here too. I'm bundling up and pretending I'm back in Merrillville again...

The eHP get-together sounds like a great partay! Muski, you'd better be careful about those sporks, though. Ya never know what they might hide in their purses for unsuspecting souls.
Radio Shack does not carry sporks... yet. *giggle*

    Nice pic though! Thanks, Gibby!

  12. How about dinner Mon, Feb 4? That way, we can make Scarlett come and I know lots and lots of restaurants downtown....

YES! :ura: :voll: :nana: :7: :drinking34::yess:

It works for me -- and February fourth is alliterative, muski.

KF & Muski, you realize that Feb. 4th is a Monday, in case one of you "needs to be flexible" LOL! -- not me.

But back to party business, this should be fun! KAndre knows the bestest places in town!!! And Kareneh will be here too? Wheeee!!!

    MichiganDCATParty.jpg

I've got nothing to say. I'm tired and I want to get to the next level on my post count. I think this will do it.

    :DoClay:

EEEEEEEE!!!! Now, after I do Clay, I get to guard his body to keep the rest of you wenches away from him. Hee.

So... I need to do this a few hundred times to get out of the bodyguard business? Hmmm...

ETA: annabear, we don't mind the NYPD. They can be very friendly and helpful. Just ask KAndre.

  13. {{{{{rocknrllmom}}}}} and {{{{{pkmiller}}}}} So sorry to hear the news about your moms.

    Happy New Year FCA!

*rubs eyes* Reads post. *rubs eyes* Wow! Great to see you posting! Can we expect more in 2008 or did you play some sort of 'Truth or Dare' game in Merrillville while I was in the other room?

Sounds like I might be camping out in a winter-rated tent!! :cryingwlaughter:
ROTFL! We need someone with will power to talk us out of it. *v. sweetly* goldarngirl?!

KF, haven't forgotten about your motown but that's a mini-project on its own. Interlochen was niiice but I think Kettering and Toledo will also have great Motown clips! Thanks for the dialog quotes from Moulin Rouge. Glad to see that jmh123, Lotus and CG enjoyed that part too.

    jmh123, thought about you today since I went to see the Shanghai exhibit again before it closes this weekend. I haven't forgotten about your non-Clay Sedaka clips either. Maybe I should just stay home the rest of the week since it looks like I'm going to be busy rendering for a while. And I don't want to go to work tomorrow either. {{annabear}}

  14. EEEEEEEEEEEE I'm going Easter weekend. Cool. It's amazing what you find out when you read Clay fan boards. heeeeeee. TY FromClaygary :F_05BL17blowkiss:

:cryingwlaughter: Crap, I sure hope you are! You're responsible for making sure I get home and not deciding to camp out in the Schubert for the rest of the run! :cryingwlaughter:

Just ordered my Playbill, thanks to a kind friend in IL. :F_05BL17blowkiss: (They don't ship to Canada)

    EEEEEEEEHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

ETA: Cindy, it is the same one you will get at the show, but a pristine copy with a protective condom. :whistling-1:

Hmmm and you are saying that I have the self control to make sure YOU don't camp out? huh???

:pickme: Did someone say camp-out until the end of the run?!!! REI has a sale right now and they've discounted some winter-rated tents.

  15. As for boyfriends, I understand the angst about being alone when everyone else is with someone - but the loneliest I've ever been was when I was with someone I seriously wanted to kill and bury in the backyard. I like actual by myself alone MUCH better than with someone loneliness.
    So RIGHT!!!

{{{Kareneh}}} and {{{KF}}} Missing you -- let's get together when Kareneh comes home week after next.

What am I doing New Year's Eve? Rendering. Have a pile of clips I should have done yesterday instead of hanging here with y'all watching SofM. (Canandaigua for goldarngirl, Omaha for toni7babe, Merrillville for Claygasm, Cleveland for laughn, Erie for LauraQ's friend, Kalamazoo for LonelyNoMore44, Waukegan for PA, Williamsport for me -- let me know if I promised you something that's not on here) I'm in Houston this year because I completely forgot to plan a trip to Florida to see PerusingOne until it was too late and the airfares were through the roof. :( I could go out but spending this evening watching a cute guy sing is much better than driving around town avoiding the DUI's.

Happy New Year, FCA!!! And yay to everyone for exceeding the UNICEF goal!!!

Looking forward to a good year for all of us!!!

So I'm the only one who liked Moulin Rouge from the start, including David ("Faramir") Wenham's hissy fit as Audrey? Loved the Foundation and Robot series too, Ansa!

  16. I guess I'm the really easy one around here -- no one has named anything I really dislike and I also have LOTR, GWTW, Casablanca, Grease, Rent, Moulin Rouge, etc.

As musicals go, some songs I'd love to hear Clay sing are: "Being Alive" from Company, "Lily's Eyes" and "Race You To The Top of the Morning" from The Secret Garden, "Soliloquy" from Carousel, "If Every I Would Leave You" from Camelot, "Defying Gravity" from Wicked, "Bui-doi" from Miss Saigon... Oh, who am I kidding? I'm one of those who'd literally listen to him singing a Chinese Menu.

ETA: *Looks down & covers eyes. Yikes. Help please!*

Oops, spoke too soon! I just can't stand POTO but have loved Les Mis for (eep!) 20 years.

    ETAA: {{{{Gibby}}}}

  17. see, stuff like the love of Sound of Music makes me feel like I am in an alien environment. mocantina.gif

I guess I weird that way.

Sorry...I was raised with musicals. My mother was very involved in music and I guess I inherited it from her.

I hope loving "stuff like the Sound of Music" doesn't make me an alien...or an idiot.

Look around - who is the person out of step here? me.

Heh, that reminds me whan I read about K'Andre and South Park, I immediately thought of Cartman and Kyle and Butters.

playbiller/jj/annabear, I connect to any of them - musicals, old movies, Harry Potter and Cartman, Kyle & Kenny of South Park so maybe none of us are aliens. I even consider "South Park: The Musical" to be one.... (apologizes in advance to everyone from Canada for liking the Canada song from that "film")

jumpingjacks, Christopher Plummer's dubbing (or what I thought was lip-synching) wasn't that big a deal for me since I saw "Sound of Music" too early to have a crush on the Captain. What devastated me was finding out that Audrey Hepburn was dubbed on MFL & B@T. OTOH, it was a relief to find out that Clint Eastwood didn't really sing "Paint Your Wagon".

  18. Is "The Sound of Music" restored on television significantly different in some way than the DVD version I've enjoyed for years now? I don't think the version I have is 4 hours long...so is that with commercials? I had a crush on Christopher Plummer as a young girl, too. That dance sequence where she gets flustered is hawt. heh Used to know all the words to all the songs. :)

I think it includes commercials. I'm just so happy to see the whole songs rather than cutting to a commercial during it...especially Christopher's only solo. Their song is my absolute favorite.

Oh, hell, what am I saying....I love all the music and still know all the words. I am a dork!

I always wondered about "So long, farewell..." how come the musicians hired for the party knew all the notes to a song the kids had made up well enough to accompany them flawlessly (maybe they had a Jesse Vargas?), and how the guests knew how to respond on the last "goodbye". :)

Cindilu2, thanks for this month's calendar pics and for all the others to come!
