  1. More from CV: "Patti just called from the Beacon. ET is interviewing out front for mondays show. There are bullhorn announcements that Flash photos are not allowed and that you will be ejected if you try." New Yawkers are subtle, aren't they. Bullhorns?? CV sometimes does WJ, and sometimes not. Scheduled to talk to 43dudleyvillas during the intermission. Should be interesting.
  2. Couchie, WJ just finished Homeward Bound - now telling the long applause story. Good connection tonight, BTW.
  3. Belly, I'm not sure, but from what I gather, they may have used taped footage (Banda Aceh or Uganda), but I haven't seem any details yet. Welcome, by the way. Love the screen name!
  4. Yes, live performance is confirmed for Monday morning. The CV cellcerter is going to try to get Jerome to talk on the phone at intermission.
  5. William Joseph is on now - Carol of the Bells From the Clack House: "I just spoke with both Scarlett and YSRN. There appears to be no change in camera policy. Signs and ushers saying "no flash photography." Lots of people with cameras." From CV: "Just talked to my friend at the concert. She said that ET was interviewing alot people before the show. She also said that the last group she saw interviewed was 3 teenage girls. " William Joseph - 1st time performing in NYC
  6. From Clayversity: Numbers: Tonight- 1500 Tomorrow--almost sold out Sunday-1200 out of 2900
  7. playbiller, I think that's Couch Tomato mis-using her admin edit powers again. She thinks she's replying, and ends up editing someone else's post.
  8. There is a picture of Clay (from GMA this summer) on the Kenneth Cole website. Maybe it's an indicator that the relationship will be ongoing, which is cool. (As long as Clay gets to keep wearing the funky Paul Smith socks!)
  9. New York, New York / It's a wonderful town / The Bronx is up / and the Battery's down / New York, New York / It's a wonderful town! Hee. I'm picturing Clay in the Frank Sinatra role in "On the Town". Tall, skinny, long-legged singer in a sailor suit. Gah! I woke up in a much better mood this morning, and I'm optimistic about the New York City three-fer. Fingers crossed for lots of pictures and detailed recaps from Jen, diamondjake2001, Skatejoy, buzztechie, and any other lurkers that may be going over the week-end. Whatever happens, enjoy it and have a great time! I watched the Reading birthday banter, and it really was a hoot. Keeping with the theme of this post, the audience singing did sound a little like a group of drunken sailors. What fun! I also watched "Good News". Honestly, the vocal performance was still strong, and if you didn't have other, more expressive performances to compare it to, I'm not sure someone seeing it for the first time would pick up on Clay's distress. YMMV, of course. I hope it never happens again.
  10. Okay, you actually can find anything on the internet. Did a little research on Mongolian cowboys, and came across this piece on npr.org. Check out the picture gallery: Picture 3 - the back-up musicians for Clay's new Mongolian country CD, which will include, per Picture 5, yak milking lullabies. Who knew you had to get yaks in the mood?
  11. Well, it hasn't exactly been a banner day for the Clay Nation has it? I am considering fitting my penguin posse with frickin' lasers, and training them to target flashers. Any volunteers willing to house them on the east coast? They are actually pretty low maintenance little guys, and are content to splash around in the tub when they are between missions. A little air freshener will take care of that herring smell.... I suspect there are a number of New Yawkers that are just itching to go after the flashers. "Honestly, Officer, I carry that pepper spray for protection on the subway. I have no idea what made it go off in that lady's face." Or maybe I should go back to offering cyber-hugs, and skip the snark.
  12. Ah, Skatejoy, huge hugs to you. I understand that taking photographs is a big part of the concert experience for you, and I pray that things work out. I do take a small measure of comfort in a couple of small things - and this is just my opinion only, and as always YMMV. I am not trying to downplay anyone's anxiety at all, and don't mean to make these comments sound like that. Every time there has been an issue with the crowds at the buses, there is angst on the boards that Clay will never greet the bus groups again. That hasn't happened yet. Also, from reading posts at the other boards, it is possible, with the co-operation of venue security, to have a fairly flash-free concert. I hope that, between the pressure from fellow concert-goers on the flashers and the vigilance of venue security, flash-free Clack-gathering will continue to be allowed. Team Clay seems to have sincerely bought into the idea of the importance of Clack to the fandom. I hope and pray that Reading will only be a bump in the road of JNT05. Again, YMMV. Hugs all around.
  13. Couch Tomato, saw your good news over at the CH - yah for you! playbiller, that's an idea - Couchie and Ansa may be open to letting us include more commentary in the concert thread. I tend to have frustrating buffering issues with the cellstream I have access to: it always cuts out at the exactly the wrong moments. "The attendance is"....buffering, buffering, buffering. "Please, celebrate.."...buffering, buffering, buffering. "OMG, his socks.."..buffering, buffering, buffering. Return from buffering to big laughs.. It drives me up a wall. Good-bye to Mr. Bulls-eye sweater calender guy, and hello to What have you get in the pocket of that jacket? Mr. December. Guess I'll have to "Savor the Flavor" while it lasts through the end of 2005. I can't believe there is no 2006 calender. I guess 7:30am is too early to expect a Reading concert recap from diamondjake2001, huh? [ETA: Just caught up on the flash commentary elsewhare - yikes!] Lots of NYC Clack to look forward to in the next five days. EEEEEEE! for the NYC concert goers! Have a swell time, and keep us updated on all the details, Jen. Looking forward to Skatejoy's and buzztechie's photos! [subliminal messages-Takelotsofsockpictures and bottlecapneedsamugandhaspaypal - end subliminal messages] Lost - I'll make one comment here: based on the opening scene, Sun is a very lucky woman. Holy Moley!
  14. Clay is on The Insider today, Wednesday the 30th. From snowdrop at the Clack House: Yah, another clip for my October / November DVD! eta: Just watched the clip. Skatejoy, Jerome is very visible in a couple of the bits, so EEEEE! for you. Raleigh is too cute. I'm undecided about the blonde dancer chick. Also, the Monday December 5th appearance on CBS' The Early Show is now on the main page of the OFC. ldyjocelyn, if frequent post-hoing was a problem here, I would be covered with trout-shaped bruises, and would smell like a fishing boat. [Well, maybe I do, but you can't tell from where you're sitting. Yah for the anonymity of the internet!]
  15. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLAY! I have confidence that the Reading audience will show you a ton of love tonight. I will be raising my own special Birthday Candle / Flashlight in your honor this evening, unless the timing conflicts with "Lost", 'cause you know, Jin and Sayid need a little attention, too.
  16. Hee. I'm evil, and after watching The Insider clip a couple of times, I have Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher" running through my head. ldyjocelyn, can't you have your courtiers contact his courtiers and arrange a meeting? __________________________________ Totally OT (What else is new, you ask?), but hysterical anyway. USA Today has a timeline of important penguin media appearances here. I may have to pick up the "March of the Penguins" DVD while I am getting the "Learning to Sing" paperback.
  17. Safe travels and hugs to Ansa and family - I hope you have a great time! Clay's video is on The Insider website here - Great hair, rehearsal footage, Raleigh, and a glimpse of teaching Gregory. EEEEEEEEE!
  18. Jen, from what I can see at the other boards, e-mails to the meet & greet winners have gone out this afternoon (Monday the 28th) for the venues through Washington D.C. Good luck!
  19. I am such a dork. We have access to some of the most amazing photographic images from this tour. Sparkling green eyes, sculpted cheekbones, a charming crooked grin, impossibly broad shoulders, spiky hair collecting drifting snowflakes, and expressive hands that I believe really could cause sighing angels to descend from heaven. We have the glowing white suit, and while we are denied the longed-for view of the black pants of perfection, we do get the long black jacket of Gah. And what images am I desperately searching for, pining after, and longing to find from each concert? Pictures of each pair of whimsically striped socks. I think I need an intervention. ________________________________ I kinda dig the tome of this interview from the Pittsburgh Tribune, although Clay is kind of cagey about directly answering some of her questions. This made me snort a little: And who exactly was it that brought up Mongolian polkas in the first place, Mr. Aiken?
  20. Per CV: Might be dark blue striped socks. Still has the square box. Cellcerter talked to the ticket manager at the venue: sold 2,800 tickets.
  21. Waves to Jen - I think the photographer duo extraordinaire buzztechie and Skatejoy are going to be at some of the NYC shows. Maybe one or the other wil pop in here and answer your question for sure. So, I was doing some Paul Smith sock research during the cellcert last night. I happened across this page of Paul Smith hats. Cough Snort Choke. Words fail me.
  22. Holy Crap! Why did I not drag my behind three hours down I-75 so I could see the Aiken in Cincinnati tonight? Oh yeah, because I'm a wuss about planning any winter travel. [Slaps self silly.] At least I'm in the same state as Clay for the next two days, so can I count that as a con.nect.tion? Awhoo Hooo!
  23. Clay said: He’s too funny. You may find it hard to believe, but I kinda like that guy. Ldyjocelyn, I enjoyed your recap and have downloaded some of your Chicago videos – thanks for the different perspective. I know it’s probably not the case, but I picture you in some sort of Renaissance garb with a pointy princess hat, and for some reason, lrdjocelyn looks like the Burger King, only without the creepy plastic head. Hey, the JNT concerts are finally in my time zone! Awwwooo Hoooo! Obligatory penguin content: Yesterday, after Thanksgiving dinner, my family sprawled out on various pieces of furniture in my mom’s living room and watched the “Madagascar” DVD. We had to watch the Penguins’ “Christmas Caper” short twice, because we were laughing so hard. KaBoom, indeed, Ricco.
