  1. My favorite all time look is Clay with the beard the night of the last BAF gala. Now that was a great look and his hair was perfect.
  2. "I thought I was gonna die!" "the little twisty gets me EV'RY time!" Everytime I have trouble with a twisty, I think about Clay's schtick and it make me laugh.
  3. This week I bought ice cream for the first time in a long time. I had almost forgotten how good it tastes. Would I give it up for Clay? No. But I do like the guy and his music. lol.
  4. bottlecap WORD! I haven't had time to read much here since early yesterday but there are many times when people respond harshly to someone and I sitting at my computer perplexed wondering why they didn't ask for a clarification. Most of the time, I don't understand the snotty comments made to each other or about Clay & Co. IMO Kim ran with something before it was a done deal. It was something that should have been announced by all 3 camps together. When she didn't get her way, she reacted in public coming across as someone who tried to force a decision on others. It does not matter whether Clay returned her calls or not and we have no idea why he didn't. Kim didn't get her own way and she doesn't like it. Clay gave a clear, concise synopsis that he is not doing the tour. He gave Kim an out with his comments about the media. She didn't take it and made herself look worse. I'm going by what I read by both Kim and Clay and not what other fans have said.
  5. djs111 I still can't believe the brouhaha over that song with pages and pages and pages and pages of angst. I used to be very sympathetic to people who had different opinions and were so upset, when I first came on the boards. But then I learned better. It never stops. It is always about them and there is always another crisis just around the corner. I value my fandom and my happiness so I'm not going there ever again even in sympathy. They wore me out. You said this so well, I just have to quote you. I feel the same way. This is mostly where I'm at today with the snark vs thinly disguised swipes at Clay & Co. I'm not stupid and there are people who like to stir things up with snotty comments. I can easily put them on ignore and do that even without the fancy tool that sets them to ignore. The part I'm having trouble with isn't even in the good fan/bad fan category. Yes, I read that a few fans think that Clay is gay. The same ones say it all the time. Yawn. What's the point of the repetition! But beyond that and beyond the nasty swipes, which can be a thin line to attempt to measure (which we can't), it's the ones who do this on one board then crow about it on other boards while ridiculing the rest of us on those boards, who in my mind don't even fall into the fan category. I will not mention any names or boards. Even without specifics, I think we can recognize that there are trolls and meanies who get their jollies out of stirring things up and deliberately hurting the feelings of others. They can stop now. They got to me for awhile but I have their number and, well see the above quote about not wanting to know these people in real life. My fandom ebbed a little, not because of Clay but because of the message boards and the things above which I let get to me. I can't say that I'm totally past it all, but today I try to chuckle at those who try to create chaos. They may think I'm naive or little miss housewife who isn't as good as they are or as sophisticated, but it don't matter to me.
  6. Still so much to catch up on. I'm really looking forward to AYSTAFG. There may not be time for me to watch AI2 on AI Rewind. It is on in our area, but in all my channel changing I never caught the first one. I have not watched JK but the consensus seems to be that he did well and that ph is still an it. The news about the judge dismissing the case is great news. I've read a couple of criticisms here in that this news came from a fan. From what I read here, the person lives in Raleigh and simply looked at public records. The person did not call the judge or the lawyers in the case. The person did not contact Clay's family or the media nor did the person talk to reporters. So what's the problem? Though I don't generally comment on fan's calling venues for set lists (how in the heck would the venues know about the set list?) or TV producers for information or talking to reporters or inviting them to parties or doing a number of things to bring attention to themselves, I usually find most of that type of behavior out of line. Sorry I have to stop. The baby is up and not feeling well. You know how it is. He will take all my attention for the rest of the day.
  7. I'm so late to the discussion and have only read half of what I missed. Still catching up with a lot more to read. I still don't understand the gossip about anyone's sexuality. Like someone once said, it is Clay's own truth not mine or anyone else's. Anyway, based on Clay's reaction to women and because I take him at his word, I've never had any doubts about him. I believe him and don't think he is a liar. And it makes me happy to think that I've never doubted him. I'm only speaking for myself here. He is a story teller when it comes to being on stage and entertaining people. When it comes to his stage act, he will exaggerate for effect. Isn't that what comics/story tellers do? What bottlecap said about viewing hits as currency is a great point. No way do I spend money on the hater sites in any way. That crooner cd sounds great. I've never heard most of those songs by those singers. Looks like it could be a nice addition to my Christmas CD list.
  8. I can't seem to pick a favorite song or genre for Clay to sing or a favorite show. I've loved them all because there has been something special about each one. Over time, I find that I have several favorite songs mostly from concerts and they vary from up tempo to slow. What I'm looking for now is to find what is the favorite concert version of Everything I Have. I don't have time to download many songs and am hoping someone can help me out on this one with a recommendation.
  9. I can relate to much of playbiller's post above. I've kicked around a number of boards never really feeling at home. Towards the end of AI2, I found the message boards and lurked for a very long time. I actually joined TTC as a local member, but when I tried to become an ezboard member, I could never register so could never get on CB. I've been at various boards. On some boards that have been around for awhile I too am confused by the posting rules. The rules often appear to be applied unevenly. Some can make snide comments or those full of innuendo and if you try to simply talk about it, you get warned or suspended. I'm finding that the newer boards like here and Chexxxy, which are lightly moderated and have people celebrating their fandoms have been good for me because the negativity of just a couple and the hatefulness of others who act completely differently on their own self-serving boards, had brought me way down. It is good with the success of this last tour to reconnect again with great fans.
  10. Good discussion everyone. I don't know Ethel but my impression formed over the years from what I have read on various boards by different posters is that she is a very nice, sweet person who loves Clay. The problem doesn't seem to be with changing seats. It's the non-stop yelling by someone sitting beside you. Now with CAP, that is another story. And yes I was the recipient of a nasty PM about 3 years ago. I was stunned at the reason (nothing really) and how mean it was. After reading all of her posts on both fan boards and non-fan boards, I feel that I've come to know something about her personally. Sigh. That's about all I want to say about someone else other than I left one fan board because I never wanted to read another hate filled post from her again and since her being allowed to gripe all the time was never going to change, I left. ETA: Now that is funny playbiller.
  11. Kudos to Clay & his team for these wonderful summer concerts. I loved it. My favorite parts were most things that Clay sang though I appreciated that Angela and Quiana added to the humor and their songs were wonderful. My main focus though is still on Clay no matter who else is on stage. So, Ryan S. is going to be hosting the Emmy's. Guess that is one show I won't be watching. I cannot stand him.
  12. cindilu2 Word to your post above. What is this about poddies? I have to agree on one thing. I am reading the other boards much less these days because of other posters. I can't stand the constant innuendo, negativity, or superior music knowledge attitudes from a few on the fan boards. Those are my 3 groupings. I have tried to convince myself to let go completely but know that I probably won't because I'm a fan for life. Don't get me wrong, most posters are wonderful. But those 3 groups are the ones who get to me more each day. The thorn is there moreso because we can't have open conversations about it at the time people post. I even resigned from one of our popular fan boards mostly because one negative poster has not been dealt with there. I can't download right now so haven't seen much clack. But I loved what I saw, even Frisco. And I love uninhibited Clay the bestest. And LAA on You Tube just WOW. I can't wait to see more of the show.
  13. I should be working but can't seem to stay away from the boards this morning. I have a virus on my regular PC and cannot download anything on this one but did see a few clips. I loved what I saw. It was nice reading playbiller's report. What I learned this morning is that I'm a gaymate (some blogger) and a hick and like cheese. lol. I do not have time to read much here but enjoyed what I read. I wish the ones who hated the concert would have a concert give away or sell their tickets. I don't believe I want to hear their reports from 5 - 10 concerts. I'm not saying people can't dislike something about the concert but I think everyone knows that I'm referring to the same people who complain about most everything. One at the OFC repeatedly makes threats to leave but it is just empty promises. I wish she would make my day by following through! Anyway, I loved the classics even LAV. It was hilarious. Because of You was stellar. I haven't heard LAA or some of the other songs yet but am looking forward to them. Now I have to get back to work or make up the time this weekend.
  14. Wow. His eyes are so green in that last picture. Do they look that beautiful in person? I've heard people comment on his lazer beams and green eyes before but most pictures don't show the color that well.
  15. I personally can't take much of the angst about the venues. If people have good reasons for not attending fine. Just don't shove them in my face with 1000 posts about it. I'm trying to be careful because I know some here may not like that particular venue. No problem. But then I'm sure if people did research, there would not be many approved venues. Some will like it. Some will not. *shrug* I hope that those who don't will let the rest of us enjoy the concert and don't go into the tailspin I'm starting to see on a couple of boards.
  16. Hi everyone. There is a rumor that jp was blogging last night saying he lied and was paid for a year. I don't know if it is real or not. I don't read the hater blogs and can't analyze it for myself (as if any of us could really figure it out). Until we know for sure, I'll be thinking more about the concerts. Here's hoping there is one near me. EEEEEEEE for the news about the two concerts. If there are only two, we can say we did get a cross country tour. Now he needs to add one in Canada. Hee.
  17. It doesn't bother me that Clay doesn't talk about the music. I would rather watch him live it in concert. I almost passed on a couple of new clips because of not having the time but that SLC clip of OCOCE from Englewood is not to be missed.
  18. KAndre You said it. You can just see how he loves music and is so into the instrumentals on various songs. It is an integral part of him.
  19. Tyra's show was wonderful. Loved it. Kelly may not have gotten as much flack as she deserved from the media but I hope those who are not.just.us are seeing her for the diva/shrew she is underneath the facade. It would have been a hoot if those pictures of her chewing Kimmel's gum after he chewed it, would have been shown on the entertainment shows. But even without those pictures, I hope the general public is seeing through her now.
  20. Lately I've been frustrated with a couple of things. One is that I would really like to see Clay on TV more. My favorite scenario would be to see him in a variety show. I think that would be loads of fun. But since I don't get to choose, I'm trying to enjoy whatever comes along. Two is that I'm extremely frustrated with not knowing what is coming next. But that is my problem because I read various boards too much. playbiller I agree. Let me add that my perception of Clay is that once he has a task in front of him, he will do the best he can on it. And that is what he did with ATDW. I really enjoy ATDW. I agree with some of the things you said and don't know what to think about others. The one thing I'll comment on is the angst. I used to feel sorry for people who seemed greatly troubled. This was very early in the fandom. Well I learned that they never changed. And if they were upset about something it never ended. I even exchanged one or two sympathetic emails with a couple of them. Funny that none of them left the fandom but there were long periods where they were not around and I've since heard about them on different boards where I guess they now feel free to express their opinon. Maybe I was stupid but I believed them and did not realize that their angst was almost permanent. One ended up at the OC and I hear she is nuts. Several ended up on another board where they can express themselves freely in the fandom (think snooty voice here). Die Hard is a favorite movie of mine as well.
  21. Is the People magazine article worth buying? I saw it today but don't buy magazines anymore. If Clay had been on the cover, I would have purchased it for sure. I'm not a picture person either. My favorite article about Clay is the Light and Sound article from awhile ago.
  22. I wondered how the Inventor did. Thanks for the information. I don't usually care about shows one way or the other but was very happy that Cupid tanked too. Though I miss watching TV, I won't be watching Simon's new show either. As a long time TV watcher of both comedies and dramas, I'm not watching much anymore - probably more movies than anything else and occassionally old TV shows. Benson was on yesterday in a marahon on TV Land. I watched several of the episodes. The show held up well and is still funny. I just don't relate to the shows today. The old ones make me laugh. The new ones cause me to change the channel.
  23. Thanks for the response. No particular reason. I just enjoy seeing a variety of songs sung by Clay there and I love Rosanna. Sorry about the trolls. Looks like the mods/owners don't do much to check things out to make sure complaints are valid. That stinks.
  24. Hi everyone. Any chance of someone getting a good version of Rosanna out on YouTube? Anyone here still posting there. I've been hoping for one but so far none have been posted. It is a fun site and I've enjoyed revisiting some of the TV shows and songs.
