BWAH!!! And more BWAH!!!! *grabs YSRN and smooches her* Once upon a time there was a movie, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"--Donald Sutherland was in it--where people were being taken over by aliens, the Pod people. The people who were taken over looked like they always did, but suddenly you'd realize they'd been taken over, and then they'd point at you and screech because they realized you weren't one of them, and then they'd come and take you over too. I moved recently, and was off the boards for a couple of weeks, and when I got back the Pod People had taken over almost everyone I know. Even some of my best RL Clay friends. Screech!!! Paranoia strikes deep, indeed. Takes satisfying swig of koolaid. Grape/cherry - my favorite. The Pod people took over the mods at one big, big board a long, long time ago--I don't read there enough to know who this person with the new sn is, but whatever. I just hope folks will start coming to their senses, and in the meantime, *sighs* with relief to find a safe place not to be paranoid or full of hatred and anger.

Seems like a bunch of us are sharing a brain here. This is the kind of promotion Barry Manilow gets--everything isn't geared to sales for the first week only. Remember the article that came out in Variety earlier this year, in which the distributors said they wished the labels would promote for the long term? I agree that the Christmas CD is an indication of things to come. Clay has a rep as the go-to guy for Christmas music, and a new EP helps reinforce that image as well as encouraging sales of MCWL and ATDW. I'd love, love, love to see another Christmas special this year, although I guess we'd have heard about it by now if one were in the works. QVC for Christmas would be great--pair ATDW and MCWL and throw in something special just for QVC. A single could be shopped to radio after Christmas, then, yes, another round of promo for Valentines Day, and why not AI6 promotion as well? I'd love to see him be one of the folks who work with the performers, but those are always long-established musicians so it probably wouldn't happen, but perhaps a performance on one of the early shows and/or some kind of cameo appearance. Given the album is apparently aimed towards AI viewers, it would be great to take advantage of that. Oh, and almost forgot--the first quote from JennaZ. Yes, indeedy, Clay got some big-time TV: three days of GMA, almost an entire segment of LKL, couch time with Leno. This is far more than the average musician releasing an album gets. Clay isn't treated like a typical pop star at all--more like a TV star who happens to make records.

PS, a lot of y'all know me by another name, but I never post the two together. (Or let my friends do it either. I'm paranoid about it--what can I say?) Won't take much to figure it out. My other name is place related, but I'm not in that place anymore, so I'm using my OFC sn. It was while I was moving that the Pod People came and took over a whole lot of folks. I only recently discovered this sanctuary because I've had audio on the brain again lately. Dancing candy corn?? Bring it on!! EEEEEEEEEE kewl avi, bottlecap!! ETA: Don't mean to be mysterious. Looks like this place is still safe from the invasion of the Pod People. How refreshing to read sane posts!! Just wanted to say hello--I'll look around a bit and get my feet wet before I jump in.
