  1. I'm on the stream at CV. Through itunes. Cuz WMP hates me. But there are only a limited number of connections for itunes and they say they've maxed out already. I'm still just getting Clay radio playing tho...
  2. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? :Tour3: :TourExcite:
  3. Honestly there are some great theme songs. I have a couple of covers on my ipod Charles in Charge by Reliant K & Love is all around by Joan Jett They both rock! The themes from Welcome Back Kotter and The Jeffersons are really awesome songs in their own right. Also I'd add the Theme from The Greatest American Hero which was a hit back in the day. *also immortalized by George Costanzas answering machine.. Believe it or not, I'm not home! ---------- :TourExcite: :TourExcite: :TourExcite:
  4. Exactly! The Twins MLB forum was inundated with trolls & haters the minute it was announced that Kirby Puckett had died. It was so sad. But sadly, par for the course. People who play those games...play those games. It's what they do. Crazy? Honestly Claynation has got nuttin' on CornhuskerNation* (yes ... they've called it that here since Clay was a middle schooler.) --- YAY! IT'S CLAY DAY! *what?...like there's some other holiday going on?* ---- *aka The Sea of Red...because they dress in red from head to toe (I didn't even know you could buy red pants until I moved here :shrugs:) and travel in large groups to EVERY away game. In fact other teams like to limit the availabiltiy of tickets to Cornhusker fans because they don't want their stadiums to look too Red on gameday. Notre Dame learned that lesson the hard way on a National Television Broadcast a few years ago. So many Notre Dame fans made money selling scalping their tickets to Cornhusker fans that it was more like a home game than a road game. eta : Hee. *waves to Clazor!* :F_05BL17blowkiss: Woooooooooo, Pig ! Sooie! Razorbacks!! ---- etaa : I have now o'fishaly edited this post to death. I'll stop now. I lied.
  5. My fashion consultant (DD) would say Blue. Match the shirt (in this case the first shirt...hee.) Glad to be of service! --- Sorry to have been so quiet lately...RL is just zinging along. I've got a possible job transfer on the horizon and as always seems to happen all of my young adult children seem to going through a state of flux also. Nothing major ... just changes. I keep waiting for them all to settle at the same time and it never seems to happen. I guess I should stop waiting eh? Oh and I rolled my ankle last week. Ouchie. Nothing broken but lots of pain. I'm such a klutz! ---- playbiller ... :F_05BL17blowkiss: I've been thinking about you. ---- I'm so excited for all the M&G winners. I don't put in for them myself. I'm perfectly content to gaze at Clay from afar ( & the occasional bus line *g*) But I know AAIT! She's my buddy! You may remember her as "Alice from Dallas" .... :TourExcite: I leave Friday afternoon for KC to meet up w/Creole and then Saturday is ROAD TRIP day baby! Off to see our guy! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! :TourExcite:
  6. I'll also have the CV cellcerts and would be willing to report. :F_05BL17blowkiss: It could get interesting, however, as I may, given both schedules, also be streaming a Twin's game & participating in a game thread. Just don't be surprised if I start blathering on about LNP & the Piranhas, the B.O.D., Kubel's problems at the plate w/RISP and the inevitable @$&%*# GIDP! *g* On the flip side, I also hope to avoid any mention of Clay's Pants during the 7th inning stretch. Somehow I think you guys would be more understanding than they would. --- EEEEEE! THE BLOG! What a nice thing to come home to! I agree!
  7. This is what I have too. And I rarely watch anything on it. I'm glad I have that function tho'. I believe you can also store photos on there and I keep meaning to try that. Someday. When I have time. I usually don't put together playlists either. Just hit shuffle. Matter of fact the ipod shuffle probably would have been sufficient for my mp3 needs. But I still love the thing and wouldn't give it up now!
  8. I haven't gone to a store to buy a CD since ATDW and before that MCWL and before that it was MOAM. I download what I want from itunes. I have used LimeWire a time or two. I just rarely like everything an artist does enough to even get the Essentials. I usually go to itunes and take 4 or 5 things off of a Greatest Hits or Essentials CD. Even when I'm uploading my own CD's to itunes I rarely take more than 3 or 4 songs per. Generally I go to itunes when I remember something and put it in my shopping cart until I have 10-12 things to download at once. Of course it's always so random. For instance last week Dolly Parton ...I Will Always Love You (Original Version) Emerson Drive .... Moments Gin Blossoms ... Long Time Gone Hues Corporation... Rock the Boat Ok Go ... This will be our year Pure Prarie League ... Amie Simple Plan ... Addicted The Spinners ... Working My Way Back to You/Forgive Me, Girl Steven Curtis Chapman ... Dive Toby Keith ... A Little to Late Whitney Houston ... I Have Nothing :shrugs: No wonder they don't wanna market to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! --- Works been kickin' my butt, but hopefully things will settle soon. --------- EEEEEEEEEEEE! Idol auditions are coming to Omaha August 10th. My DD's BF is trying out again this year. He went to Mpls last year where he was told by a producer after being brought back for an individual tryout that they couldn't use him "this year" but they really encouraged him to come back "next year". He was pretty sure, from what they said that they already had their quota of olderish (26) white guys. His prediction for last years Idol Winner (based on who he saw getting through) then was young young young non/white female. Hmmmm. Anywho this will be the 3rd city. If he doesn't get through he's going to as many other cities as he can swing. I hope they don't make us the crazy weird audition city...but I can so see that happening. --- EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! TOUR IS ALMOST HERE. TOUR IS ALMOST HERE. I'M SO GIDDY! :TourExcite: :Tour3:
  9. Maybe he didn't know until then. :shrugs: IMO there are many ways it could have played out and fit in with what Clay had to say about having to fire someone he cared about. I doubt we'll ever know.
  10. I was at both shows and that's the way I remember it. My observations ... I thought something was "off" w/Jacob during the first half of the show in Des Moines. So much so that I would have bet money that he didn't come out for the second half because he was ill. But then when Clay didn't mention him during the intros...I knew that couldn't have been it. KC the next night, Clay and the girls did seem a bit emotional. I dunno about tears. Just more like they were clinging to each other for a bit of support after being thrown off kilter. IMO stuff like that is just water under the bridge. I'm always ready for what ever is next! :Tour3: ---- Love the new banner! :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  11. I'm going through exactly the same thing this year. Never ever had to deal with this before and I have a real family history. I take the 24 hr non-drowsy Loratadine right before bed. Seems to help. --- Wow for the Double Dates w/the Minnesota Symphony! That's drivable for me. We'll have to see how it shakes out tho'. Don't forget Mpls/St. Paul is the 16th-largest metropolitan area in the country. And they have a history of supporting the arts. And they love them some Winter, especially around Christmas time. I think he'll do great! --- I'm in the "it just worked out that way" camp .... guess I have no imagination.
  12. IIRC it was one of the clayandr posts on the OFC, posted after she attended the JBT dress rehearsals. 'Course that was before Clay "outed" her in Greenville. Hee. EEEEE! AND I WAS THERE! 6th ROW! BAYBEEE! edited...I knew it was greensomewhere... Oh is it that time of year again? *yawn* Okay...so you'd have to be from around here. We get a bit saturated with it. Actually all year. Not to mention that the City routinely prostitutes itself to the NCAA to keep the thing here. If they ever pull out there will be a mass suicide by the City PTB. Irony alert. I love baseball, as you well know. I actually spent about a decade following the AAA team that calls the stadium home for most of the summer. But I just can't get excited for the CWS unless the Huskers are in it. I guess I reeeeeeealllly neeeeeeeeeeeeed to feel an emotional investmant before I drag my butt to a stadium and sit in the hot sun all day. --- Now that may tell you something about the emotional investment that I have in Clay. :F_05BL17blowkiss: My dear friend! I can't wait to see her again in Cali! ---- w00t! My new washing machine comes today! How exciting. No?
  13. I was going to suggest this also. Have you checked into it? It was the first thing I thought of when I read your post this morning. That's what homeowner's is for IMO. ---- I wish I could respond to all the wonderful posts here today. WOWZA! :F_05BL17blowkiss: But there is just too much good. I think you've covered it all and I'm in awe! IMO, as Jaymes once said, Clay knows exactly who he is musically. And I can't wait to see what's next! :Tour3: --- EEEEE! I thought of something semi-relavent to add..! re : Marketing. My own kids have grown up being the target of marketing. They've even taken marketing classes. They have a keen sense of when they are being "marketed to". It turns them off.
  14. My one and only front row experience was at the Iowa State Fair. When he stepped out of the spaceship, almost right in front of me, my first thought was ... OMIGAWWWWWWWWWD! His feel really ARE huge! --- The Vet really put me at ease about boarding the dogs. He'll even be the one on call that weekend. Now I can start packing! But first I have to go buy a new washing machine. Mine has officially croaked. I hate spending money on practical stuff. Sheesh. --- I don't even go to my own adult kids myspace pages. :shrugs:
  15. I KNOW!!!!! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I'm so excited. :Tour3: Today's my day off and I'm taking the poochies in to get their Bordatella vacines so I can board them while I go to Tulsa and Cali. I've never had to board them before. My wonderful sweet neighbor of 20 years who always watched them moved away this year. *sniff* So I'm really sort of apprehensive about boarding them, eventhough they will be at their regular vets. And yet I'm almost excited to take them to the vet today ... cuz you know ... IT'S STARTING!!!111!!1 :TourExcite: How pathetic am I? ---- Glad your Mom checked out okay Couchie! :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  16. So has Terry Ryan (recently) which sorta makes the delusion level worse. Now they seem to think he can just pull players out of his ass, as needed. So much of what gets speculated about on the trade front is blind. (Um hellooooo? Contracts anyone?) To some, it's just swapping baseball cards and that's not so much the way it works. Which is exactly what I think happens on the Clayfan front. We know so little of what actually goes on that it's hard for me to believe most of the speculation and theory is even close. I'm not sure I get the latest concert buzz. So what'd we find out that we didn't already know? Isn't that pretty much what Clay described in his blog? Color me confused. I'm intrigued by the idea of this concert series and Clay's obvious enthusiasm for the format. I wonder if he likes the idea of being on the road with a smaller, tightly knit group of people as opposed to several busloads of personality and drama? I'm not being specific just an observation from my life experience More people = more personality = more drama. --- Happy Birthday Ansa! :F_05BL17blowkiss: edited for spelling...I wish I could spell *sigh*
  17. Sorry to be late to the discussion but it took me forever to "ketchup" --- Happy Birthday Couch Tomato! :F_05BL17blowkiss: ---- Re: the mythical lost album ... I'm in the "let it go already" camp. :shrugs: Speculation and theory-mongering I don't mind so much. It's what people do. You should hear some of the potential trades made on the baseball boards! You know, the one where your team gets ARod for a bench player, a broken down starter and a prospect? *rollseyes* I am somewhat bothered when these things get repeated to the point of becoming fact. But as a wise man once said, people will believe what they want to believe. I know this. So I don't bother. Much. Meanwhile, back at the ranch... :Tour3: :Tour3: :Tour3: :Tour3: :TourExcite: :TourExcite: :TourExcite:
  18. apropos of nothing really and everything sort of ... :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  19. *nods vigoursly* This is where I was going. Not to mention that a thousand different casual viewers may well have a thousand different reactions. FWIW I wish I could have all the hours of my life back that I wasted worrying about what other people thought. I gots more but I'm running late. DD and I are getting our hair done, doing lunch and probably (bwah) shopping. :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  20. Oh just fine. Your blowing my analogy all to hell. I would amend that to say "mainstream" radio play. Actually I'm thrilled you hear him on NPR. IMO he has a voice that deserves to be heard. :F_05BL17blowkiss: --- But what I'm asking is how she (who is none of those things) would know how they would view him in any given situation? How does she switch off the fan and view him through other eyes? And why would anyone want to do that? Especially if it makes her cringe? --- eta...not putting in for any M&G's and never have. I've touched his hand at the buses a couple of times and that's as close to him as I ever need to get.
  21. Hmmm. I'm not sure that I understand how this works. Can you explain how someone who claims to adore him can look at him through a non-fans eyes? And when you say "non-fan" do you mean someone who isn't an intese internet fan like you or someone who just remembers him from AI or do you mean a hater? --- One of my other favorite singers is Raul Malo. I bet you've never heard of him. He's been around since the 80's when he fronted a band called the Mavericks. He still puts out CD's, he tours, he has loyal fans who travel to see him, he has a fan club and a message board. He's a singer/songwriter, a genrejumping critical darling whose never gotten much in the way of radio play. His last CD came out in April. Love song covers. But I bet you've never heard of him. edited for clarity
  22. Weeee! Come from behind 9th inning walk off win last night and a blog this morning! ---- Thanks for all the good words about my son. You realize of course that was the "good parts" version. Seriously he's an amazing guy on many levels but in the interest of truth in advertising... he ... - may be the slobbiest slob that ever slobbed - has never met a deadline that was too important to not put off until the last possible moment, or worse. - drives like an old man (:shrugs:) - is smarter than the average bear but lacks what I call "lifesense" - loses stuff...big important stuff. If he had a passport it would be lost, along with it's replacement - leaks change. Usually a couple of dimes, a nickle and several pennies. Anyone still want him? --- eta : I feel way sorry for both Kelly and her fans. That would be soooo sad.
  23. :F_05BL17blowkiss: Hey guys! The work thing has been kicking my butt the last couple of days...as I knew it would. I've gone in early and stayed late since Monday. The good news is that the transition is over, the merge is complete and it took less time than expected. Minor problems have cropped up but with the help of the Tech Gods they've been easily fixed, worked around or not my problem! So when my Boss returned from said suspiciously time vacation last night and called me to find out how horrible it all had been I could (sorta truthfully) say ... ain't no thang but a chicken wing. *whew* --- Lots of interesting conversation here. I'm too time challenged to go back and do quotes...sorry. I don't know nothin' 'bout this xxxxxy person or her blog and I'm sorta sure that I'm better off for it. I don't know much about the hater blogs either, definately better off for that. If I weren't on the boards I'd know nothin' 'bout 99.99 % of the crap and disses and drama and the angst. When I was a kid and would whine or complain ... my Mama would ask "whose behavior can you change?" At the time I thought she was pushing me off with an easy platitude, but the older I got the more I embraced that rehtorical gem. In fact, it's probably the one thing that I can say, even now, that makes my kids eyes roll to the back of their heads. Simply because they heard it soooo often. But I know that for each of them it has hit home and they've all told me that it helped them deal with certain things in their life. And they've all found the hidden irony, as I did. --- re : gaydar Son #2 was a CC runner in HS & College. He's got a true runner's build. Muscular, but long and lean. 6'1 about a buck fifty. He's always been his own person and never did one thing because everyone else was doing it or because it was cool. He has his own out there fashion sense and eclectic tastes. And he pings that gaydar thing. Now, I don't care if anyone thinks my son is gay. I don't care if he is gay. I want my children to be happy and I don't feel I get to choose what makes them happy. That said, Son#2 is not gay. That doesn't stop gay men from approaching him in bars and other public areas. Most are very respectful & some apologetic when he politely turns them down. To his credit he doesn't get mad, he finds it odd but also oddly amusing. He always says it's nice to know if the whole hetro thing doesn't work out that he's got options. *g* --- WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! It's getting closer and closer! :Tour3: :Tour3: :Tour3:
  24. Hee. It should be interesting that's for sure! Re: Carrie/Country Music. Carrie is the "new" Faith. Faith was the "new" Tammy. IMO she'll be around for awhile.
  25. *puts on Enablers-R-Us beanie* Seriously. Why the heck not?Life is too short! You know you wanna! You know you won't regret it.But can you say for a FACT that you wouldn't regret NOT doing it?Huh?Huh? Can you? How'm I doin? --- My day today was at turns frantic, frustrating and hysterically funny. Bottom line...everybody made it through. Nobody died. --- eta : HEY! Her tomato is bigger than mine! *pouts*
