  1. Well, from what we heard after the R & bitch show was tat it was not only what happened on the show, but that ET had ameras blocking the hallway to interview Clay and they ignored her.

    From the CB

    Greetings from North Carolina,

The NC Nomads have been working on a birthday celebration for OMC. image

Clay will turn 30 on November 30th. We are planning an after-theatre party for 11/29 and will countdown to Clays Birthday at Midnight. The location is still to be announced but will be in the theatre district in NYC.

We will have light snacks & finger foods (because I can't spell Hor Derves LOL) and Bithday cake with a rousing chorous of Happy Birthday Clay at midnight. image

There will be raffles and auction prizes, many of which will be signed by Clay. Space will be limited so we are asking for a $10 refundable deposit for those who wish to attend. This will give us an some what accurate head count to work with. Total price and other details will come once we have a better idea of attendance.

We are trying a grassroots approach to get the word out before we post it on th Clayboard and OFC. We are trying to get the word out via email blast, please copy this to any Clay friends you have, your email list or post it on any board you belong to.

The $10 deposit can be submitted via PayPal to specialprojects2@nc.rr.com

If you need to send a check or money order please email Margi at rottenruby@nc.rr.coom

We look forward to having you join us at this TBAF approved fundraiser.

  2. A PR junket would be fun, but taking a band woud be costly.

I don't disparage any sales, I just think that it might be highlighted a bit by enthusiastic fans. Obviously someone in the TV biz there likes Clay, since he iis featured. I do find it interesting that hi song is featured for the lyrics, yet many there do not speak English (I remember a fan trying to learn so she coulld understand the songs and interviews, I thought that was a great story, especially when her husbnd learned what she as doing and why and decided to join her in her learning.)

smacks negativity out of me, fixes spelling

  3. It's so quiet here, looks like K'Andre and Scarlett got off on their flight, I wonder how long until they arrive?

The whole Korean fans is interesting to me. I monitor sales on the world wide albums and I don't se OMWH moving much overseas at all. How much is a lot of sales? So far it is estimated that he sold between 20 and 3 thousand albums overseas - total. we know he has fans in many different Asian countries. Now he is probably selling well for Korea, but that does not mean it is enough to justify a tour.

Disclaimer: Of course World Wilde albums could be off, still, if the sales were so great, you would think we would have heard more about it from Clay

  4. Heh Now would that be a "doing" pin or a "Re-doing" pin?

Now I like Scarlette and K'Andre as much as all of you, but I don't think it requires me to be swining in the ocean waving tothe sky at 6:30 AM.

    From CB

Clay is featured in Joonang Daily(one of three major newspapers here-politically all three of them are crap but it's great to see him featured in major newspaperwink.gif )

Olympic BGM focus on "Challenge rather than victory"

-Songs welcomed by broadcasts and commercials

    htm_20080822013756a000a800-001.JPG

When Park Tae-hwan receive the gold medal after he won the Beijing Olympics male 400m swimming, there was a song which made the touching moment more special. It is Clay Aiken's ballads "On My Way Here'. As the part 'I've seen the best,I've seen the worst...Faith has conquered fear' fits with Park's story, it created a sensation.

The song which was played on MBC's Olympics broacast got huge attention right after it went on the air, many internet users asking the name of the song. It is now very popular as bgm of mini homepage(similar to myspace, facebook)

It's unusual that ballads song is used at the moment of victory in sports games. Queen's 'We Are The Champions', Koreana's 'To The Victory', Cho Soomi's 'O Korea' have been used frequently but they are not played that much this year's Olympics. Instead, pop songs of which lyrics are about doing their best to achieve their goals without giving up are being played. Now, it is focused more about making efforts to realize their dream than just about winning the game.

*snip(it's about Donna Summer's 'Stamp Your Feet' and Krystal Myer's 'Make Some Noise' song)*

Kang Jae-duck,the music director of TV commercial, said "Previously, the music of sports broadcasts and commercials focused on the melody but this time, songs for Olympics seem to be chosen based on lyrics or message the songs contain," he added "It has to do with the change of perception that players' efforts are moer important than the colors of the medal."

It means that lasting touching emotion becmes more important than temporary excitement. *snip(about Jim Brickman's 'Hear me' and Westlife's 'You Raise Me Up' at the World Cup)*

"Contains the message that the more you experience the hard times, the more you grow up"

Aiken, who sang Park Tae-hwan's Gold Medal Song 'On My Way

htm_20080822013756a000a800-003.JPG Clay Aiken(30:he's 30 already in Korean age) is the star for American Idol season 2. Although he was the runner-up of the TV show, his debut album 'Measure of a Man' went #1 on Billboard chart, which made him called 'Winner-like Runner-up'. He planned to become special-ed teacher, the appearance on the Idol has changed his life. As a sincere Christian, he is also active in his role of the Unicef ambassador. His fourth album released on May 'On My Way Here' gets popular. We had a interview with him on the telephone.

'On My Way Here' gets a lot of attention.

"All the people you meet and all the things you experience makes who you are. This song contains the message that you learn from experiences and become wiser person.I believe that the more you go through hardships, the more you become the better person."

-There are many people who are unhappy about the color of medals.Have you ever felt unhappy about being runner-up?

"What I learned from American Idol is that the ranking doesn't matter.Whether you finished as the winner or 12th, you can get rewards as much as you make efforts. Of course, you get many things when you win but it is up to the individual keeping them.I think my life would have not been different if I had won."

-Any advice for contestants of star searching TV shows?

"Be yourself. People will try to change you as they want from appearance, character to musical tastes.Don't sway and keep focusing on what you want."

-I heard that you established the charity foundation naming after Michael Bubel, the kid you take care of before Idol.

"Now Michael became grown-up young man. I learned a lot teaching Michael. Also I realized that it takes a lot of patience to become a teacher."

  5. DJS lies. I ave gotten out of the water, showered and am on my way to a fresh Jersey crab dinner - eat your hearts out. I will be back walking my dog at midnight and then I will face north and wave to the skies.

It wouldn't be a normal non-business trip if there were not some unexpected crap. At leas you get to the president's club, I wander around Newa way to frequently. Did no one tell you guys that , although I always go through there, it has the worst record for take offs and landings?

    yum Yum, off to dinner.

  6. Speaking of Borging - last night the Klingon Klax was the band playing a free concert in the park a couple of miles form here. i didn't go though, I was on a mission to get Purina Pro dog food somewhere on or near the island finally gave up and got Purina one and the dog atie it like it was cookies. llefta packed dog food at home inthe kitchen, by the door. I will wonder about the klingon Klax. maybe I can catch them in a bar near here.

  7. I am curious what time I should stand at the ocean , look north and wave to Scarlett and K'Andre. If the plane goes southfor a bit, like most do, I should be able to see them. Have a great adventure guys - too lat forthem to see though. Fell asleep early last night.

Oh, it sure is! Anne of Green Gables EVERY-thing! It's kind of lost on me, as the books were after my time...but I did visit the house briefly last year. I didn't go IN the house, just kind of looked around. It's in a quite lovely park area...and you'd love the island, I'm sure. You definitely should get there!

WOW! You must be ancient. Anne was published in 1908. :F_05BL17blowkiss: And I thought I was old. I first read it in an old beat-up copy that had been my Mother's.

How bad am I, I was thinking along the same lines. I guess it is like the shoemakers children without shoes, no local stuff is looked at as special, so no local-ish books in the library. (While my library is filled with Annie Oakly stuff because who are we going to admire - the Barretta actor?) Either thaat or we have the oldest computer lterate member, but I believe Imet From Claygary, so that is not possible.

Happy Morning. i was watching Clay on TV and a fly in the room was trying to leave via the screen door, so I opened the door and the dog ran out, heh, so much for the interview, luckily, Holly is a bit obsessed with a neighbors deck and it's cat residence, that she ran on the deck and it just took her losing interest nad trying to leave to catch her, so except from some ouchy feet things running out without shoes, it was not much of an adventure, but we missed Clay and only Clay. sigh..

Let's hope for word of pictures or an interview today to make up for our temporary loss of Scarlett and K'Andre.

  9. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I heasitate to post this anywhere so that the bitchy Clay troll* from the broadway boards does not see it and cause more trouble over there, but

The Flea market for Sept 21, well, it is in Shubert Alley - on the Sunday weekend of Clay's first week at Spamalot - it will be a madhouse. Normally it is crowded, but hen again, Shubert alley gets very crowded with Clay fans on weekends whe hee is there and this should be a beautiful one. I would warn the people who are planning fo fly in from Europe over there, but i fear the troll would get involved and then more unneccessaey hatred would ensue. So be prepared if you are coming that weekend, for a real crowd. I really want to go, but have been in mobs that have stampeded before and may have a panic attack and have to flee. When the stampede occurs, it is a matter of luck of surviving. Well, it should be pleasant when the

*she is supposedly a Clay fan,

  10. OK, I started my blog today, nothing much to see yet, I am still figuring out the bells and whistles, there is a music player, I have to learn how to use it.. etc.

anyway, I logged out and thought I would search for it by using my key words, well seems like there are lots of blogs out there already, doing the same thing..... so one of them recommended this site www.sunshinerewards.com.

It seems if you sign up for this and fill out som surveys you can get immediate discounts on some major on-line purchases, like Amazon, et al. i can't join fromthe beach, they are very fussy about only using one ISP for an account, soI have to wait to register at home. But if someone cant wait until I get home nad wants to sign up, put up your ID here, so we cann all say you recommended us and you get special bonuses....

  11. You do need professional help for this for sure. Right now, I am taking 6 different drugs, so that is why I wanted to cut out the others, I don't find the pharmacy good at looking at drug interactions, althought they are supposed to do that so the less I can get away with the better I feel. I even stopped taking calcium for now because it is one more drug.

I hve to get Fear here. She did get that tutor for her son, just to help him organize and it made a big difference. It might help your son, if insurance will pay for it.

  12. Different drugs affect each of us different ways and combinations are the worst!

I had to do a lot of experimenting to get where I am and I am still having intestinal problems probably caused by the lethargy the other drugs cause without taking antidepressents. Excercise is my answer to that, I am trying to increase my activity and that does seem to help my insides. Losing weight would be good as well, but I seem to not be able to do that right now. Need a job. I will try for a new job in October just to get going in the morning.

I think activity helps reduce the needs for some types of medication, especially ones that release sertonin. But I am not a medical person, I am just a layman feeling my own way, looking for the signs of my own body.

I was diagnosed as severlly ADHD after my career started its downturn. They put me on all kinds of things like Ritlan and other drugs, but none of them helped me, until they came up with the antianxiety medication, that calmed me down so I could do one task at a time instead of having my mind jump back and forth like a crazy person. How did I have a successful career? It seems I hm a "hyperconcentrator" and if allowed to do one task at a time, i can do it better than anyone else, but when multi tasking, I fall apart, and when multitasking to the extreme (likethe end of my last job, I collapse into blubbering jelly. I looked at all I had to do and did nothing, take the antianxiety and i could prioritize and do one thing at a time until it was all done. I still had problems with my boss bursting in and saying this is more important do this now! I stopped all the ADHD medication, just took the antianxiety, now that I am not working, I only take the antianxiety when I have a rough day. I did have onstant problems such as falling asleep in meetings. just could not stay awake during sing song presentations. The answer is to sit far away from the presentor, maybe no one notices. get a copy of someone else's notes. Daydreaming in school was always a problem, but if you get good enough grades the teachers let it slide back then.

All people are different, but it would be good if people could give you non-medication solutions to some problems, like organization excercises or just excecise to remove some excess energy or what ever he needs. Fear's son went to organization tutoring rather than take medication and it helped a lot. Again - this is a disclaimer, just my personal experience and I had survived a life time of not being diagnosed with anything until it was too late. It would have been nice to receive help earlier.

  13. Well, when my Mom died, the company I worked for was going to crap and laying off people and ust piling their work on the remaining employes (I had the staffs of 6 people who left to manage in additions to my own staff (100+) people, no raise though) while I was still expected to do analysis and other techincal work and track 10 large projects changing assignments as needed and while learning several new pieces of software, and was very upset about the political atmosphere (and so many of the things I worried about have come to pass), I was put on anti anxiety medication to calm my racing heart and atmospheric blood pressure (270/180) as well as lowering blood pressure medication. I was also put on disablilty for 2 months and mostly slept. That was in 2003, when I got into the Clay crowd and that helped a lot. I am off the medication except on bad days when I have a lot to do. I take one dose of Clay aday though. It soothes me. Sounds like a bad commercial , doesn't it? I guess I am saying with the medications, make sure he does something he enjoys. Still have some tough times when I am in unruly crowds (Spamalot) and when the political depression sets in and I take a pill. So what do you want to know?
