  1. Hee! Did you know there's a "Finding Chuck Norris" website? The things you learn when you're typing in a search and get interrupted at "finding c"!
  2. I think that they only book for 2 but if it were possible to be 3 I wouldn't mind since I've met you and it would be fun. Let me know for sure if you wouldn't mind sharing with me. It would still be less even with no discount and convenient to be at hotel of gala. We don't even know yet if we can get tickets. Hope everything works out. I'm getting excited!! We wouldn't mind sharing with you at all! Three people shouldn't be a problem. They might even offer a discounted/block rate through the foundation/gala at a later date, which we should be able to call & work out with the hotel if that's the case. You're right - we don't know what the ticket situation will be yet!! But as they release more info, we can keep in touch and solidify plans. :04:
  3. preden, as it's just going to be my mother & me and we've got a room reserved with two double beds, we could maybe share. We've also planned for 10/16-10/19. Although my mom is over 60, I still can't get a room to come up for $118 with the sr. discount... The lowest rate that comes up is still $139 with no discounts checked...
  4. Of all the quotes in all the movies in all the world she picks that one *g* I didn't even think of the autobiographical reference, but that pretty much is my life right now!
  5. Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes... The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria! [/random movie quote]
  6. I'm not finding this too surprising since when I look for a room for 10/16-10/18, the rate coming up for me with the sr. (my mom will be coming) discount is $237/night!!
  7. PSA I started a planning thread here: Clay Live! > Misc Events > 2009 Champions of Change Gala /PSA
  8. The Bubel/Aiken Foundation Raleigh Marriott City Center As of 3/31/09, rooms at the Raleigh Marriott City Center are available for $139/night + tax. Oddly enough, this is the better rate, without choosing the AAA or Sr. discount.
  9. You are me, claylove - 2 CDs for me, 1 for my mom! Good luck on the job interview! Yay! for early gala date info. Plenty of time to $ave & request time off. Cool news about Clay being at Rosie's Broadway Kids fundraiser.
  10. Thanks clayzy, luckiest & fear. She just called me and was feeling a bit better. She said Peaches looked very peaceful and she knew she wasn't in anymore pain. She had become rather crippled in her old age and just went down hill really quickly over the last couple of weeks. This weekend she pretty much stopped eating and drinking and hardly moved off the couch. Part of mom's upset is that Boots is pretty old too and is not in the best of health either, so she knows her time will probably be coming soon.
  11. If you wouldn't mind sending some good thoughts our way today.... my mom called me this morning, crying, she's at the vet right now having to have one of her cats put to sleep. Peaches just turned 18. We adopted her while I was still in high school, after our dear Sylvester had died. She was always a rather crotchety, little old lady-like cat, but we loved her nonetheless. We joked now & then that she was my grandmother, reincarnated - she even had the Allen family hump-nose profile!
  12. Hi Gibby! Haven't seen you around much lately. Glad your bunny found a good home as the class pet, tribeca. Gnocchi was about 4.5 lbs when I first got him. He's gone through a pretty good growth spurt over the past couple of weeks. We go back to the vet for round 3 of puppy shots tomorrow night. I'm guessing he's at least up to 6 lbs. He should get to 10-15 lbs. full-grown. Thanks for bringing over the transcript of Clay's speech, ldyj. As others have said, I also think it sounds like he wrote it. Reading it just makes my heart swell & my face grin. Yet again. Oh, and I love his little plugs for ANTM!
  13. {{{ncgurrl}}} I'm so sorry about Nigel. Sixteen years is about the last time I had a dog. Aww, those floral puppies are adorable, spikesmom. Piper looks so serious! She's got such an expressive face - I love it! I don't know if you have PetSmart up there, luckiest, but one thing I found that really helps to settle Gnocchi is a heartbeat pillow. My little guy just had a bath. He's not crazy about them, but he does pretty well.
  14. You're welcome, liney. He's glowing in that shot. I love him! salty
  15. Hee- merrieeee is just a picture posting fool now! I love it! This? *happy, schmoopie, lovely sigh*
