  1. Scarlett, I'm worried about your Clack gathering capabilities for the upcoming Gala. Hon, I think you need to gradually increase your exposure to Clack and Clack byproducts each day leading up to the Gala, so by the time you get in the same room as the SOURCE OF ALL THE CLACKY GOODNESS, you will be in tip-top filming condition. It may be difficult, but we know you can do it.

    CameraFtMyers.jpg184813538_M.jpg

canfly (who ain't quite so discombobulated as Scarlett), just noticed something....Clay has one mis-matched button on the left sleeve of his jacket. Did we notice this previously, lol?

ETA: I wonder how much a "rendering session" with Clay would go for at a gala auction?

    Ummmm...whatcha thinkin' 'bout rendering?

    :whistling-1:

Oh my goodness!!! Like you say, it's going to be hard. But bring it on!!! It's for the team!

Ok where are our resident smutters?

    I am so pure I couldn't possibly comment! :whistling-1:

    :naughtywag:

  2. Oh, gawd...#2 by a Clay Aiken-sized (heh) mile! That was one of my favorite public Clay looks--that GMA...that three piece suit? Vest? Kill me now. And then the whole hand-over-the-mouth parody with Tori Spelling? Priceless! He looked extra yummy that day...and this smile says soooo much...yep.

Guess which one I voted for. :cryingwlaughter:

    :yeahthat:

#2: Smile and hair make this NO CONTEST!!!

    :hubbahubba:

  3. Hee I was a big girl but because I didn't work for the first 25 years of our marriage I had no individual credit rating!

    But now I'm dangerous!

I bought a Lincoln MKZ. I'm loving it. It's purdy and has something called THX cinema surround sound so Clay sounds real nice.

I'll post a pic later if you want to see.

Hee, this exchange made me laugh. I guess if you've never been married it isn't apparent, but it can be damned hard to build up your own credit rating, especially when you haven't worked or when all the household bills are in your husband's name. That was the first piece of advice I received from a good friend, before my husband and I separated....get a credit card in your name only BEFORE you leave. Was v.v. wise.

Yeah, I guess for married folks, a word to the wise would be to maintain a separate bank account/credit card in addition to your married join account. I have the opposite problem. I have all of the credit card companies wanting me to get their wonderous cards. They are so damned persistent too. I usually have to hang up on them cuz they don't understand the word NO.

Well here's my new babee and guess what I finally told my DH I'd bought it! :cryingwlaughter:

    post-292-1251590067_thumb.jpg

Well I'm back.......had to go for a little ride!

OMG I plugged my iPod in the USB Port and I told the car to play Clay Aiken and it wanted to know which song so I said OMWH of course.

    Freaking unreal!

Cool. If I tell me car to do something, it'll just sit there. But that's fine by me. I'm just thrilled to have a 6-CD changer instead of juggling CD cases in my lap.

Mileage, mileage that car gets mileage...who knew!! :hysterical: Hee! I'm more interested in the "stuff" inside. Actually It will average between 27 to 31 on the highway so it is about 6 miles better than the car I had before.

My DH just called and is more excited than I am that I did this on my own. He knew I was looking but had no idea I was going out to actually buy one today. He has major health issues and this cheered him up no end. Now what kind of a man gets all happy that his wife went out and spent thousands of dollars on a new car (and sold his car to boot)! We will be married 40 years in 3 weeks. I told him this was my anniversary present and he got...wait for it...Madden 10 for his XBox! I think that was more than fair!

Congrat's and that's cool that he was happy about it.

Oh dear lord, CF must have forgot her meds today. Now I have to read her ramblings in two places. I think I'm gonna wind up with a headache.

    whatever.gif

Ya know how to scroll ya whiney baby! :imgtongue:

  4. This window has been sitting open since last night, so I'll finish it and see what else is new, lol....

Canfly, do you know the slang, "grease monkey"? It's a pretty common expression. If you don't you'd never get it, but if you do, it's not that complicated. Grease monkey is the kind of monkey you won't find on Pluto, unlike the flying monkeys Clay went to visit there onetime (according to a famous comment in Star magazine).

If I ever read the flying monkeys on Pluto reference, I sure don't remember it now, and so that clue whizzed right on by me cuz I couldn't figure out what Pluto had to do with anything. Yes, I've heard the expression grease monkey re: car mechanics. Never re: airplane mechanics. No monkeys working on MY plane boy. And I never would have tracked that line of clues, lol.

I don't know what is more confusing, the instructions for using the board or the clues.

Shall we call it a tiiiiiiiiiiie? TM...somebody in Spamalot...was that the father, lol?

Apparently you guys have different brain wiring. Like Canfly, I still didn't understand the Grease clues once it was guessed. And I have definitely heard of grease monkeys.

Yup. My brain ain't wired like JMH's or Scarlett's, lol. I ain't dat snart, lol.

Canfly, your friends are scaring me. Hold me.

    Awwwwww...therethere.gif Dey ain't skeery.

There IS a reason why I teach Grade 1 and not University PHD courses, lol. :curtsie:

I was lazy on this one because it was late and I was mesmerized by the picture that canfly conveniently posted here... so I went through the title from left to right, picking words or word fragments (or words that sounded like them, eg. canfly's "ewe" instead of "you"), looked them up in an online dictionary or thesaurus and copied down whichever definition beckoned; after a while, the phrases just seemed to organize themselves around a theme... :)
Even that sounds like too much work, lol. Oh and the "ewe" thing was all Sparky's doing, lol.

The "restroom" at the beginning of the title is a good place to start, because how many songs begin with a word or part of a word that means "restroom"?

eg. If Clay had sung "Louie Louie", this would have been a good clue:

    Song: Louie Louie

Clue: restroom us restroom us (loo we loo we)

:meme: A clue I can follow!

So, what song (and one that Clay has performed) begins with a word that also means "restroom"?

Well, I'd have gone through a list of all of the slang words for bathroom I could think of but too late now, lol. :cryingwlaughter:

Oh, and it really should read:

restroom anyone overflow most satisfying have it bad in excess murkiness

Well, that clears that right up, lol.

Can You Feel The Love Tonight huh?

    Overflow, lol?

    ETA: Nuttin new.

    JMH!!!! :whereareu:

    You're up, lol.

    Kewl.

Hey, has anybody else but me noticed this? If you hover your mouse over Clay's face on the banner and sidebar, you see "Holy Crap" ??? I love it!

lmao. No, but Of course I hadda go try it. ;) I take it that was Cindy's initial reaction to the picture, lol. :teehee2:

Heheh, if you look back a few pages (okay, the old thread now) you'll see that it was actually..

    HOLY SHIT!!!!!

but I thought maybe that wasn't appropriate for the banner. *g*

Oh DUH. doh.gifI shoulda remembered that cuz my initial reaction was Holeeeeeeeeee SHIT! and you :yeahthat: ed me, lol.

I'm just plain dopey today. Shaddap. (and crampy too...a bad combo)

No Decca dude? Just being a good little fact checker here... I originally called David the A&R guy, "the Decca dude" but I've since since some people refer to Clay as "the Decca dude". Which Decca dude ya gettin' rid of, lol?

Uhh, the one who isn't in the photo anymore???

lmao. I thought you meant you had been working on a totally DIFFERENT banner and I was wondering if it was gonna have a totally different picture of Clay...but it's still the Decca hunk. *drools* When did you add the current one (#3?), lol? I see the Decca dude is gone now, lol.

If it's been all day today, just shoot me, K?

  6. I tried to divide this into paragraphs but there was only one obvious (and rather abrupt, I might add) break.

One day, Clay fed fried fish to the dogs . Unfortunately, he tripped over the cat and hit his head on the new swing set in his backyard, head throbbing so and reached out towards Parker , who was toddling towards him, while carrying his favourite toy....watergun! Parker was aiming it at the snake Jaymes accidentally let in while picking up Parker's toys in the swimming pool and then Parker recognized Clive and bit his ankle, then needed shots to ward off evil snake venom. Jaymes said, "How in the hell are we going to get rid of the body paint we used?" Raleigh started digging on Clive's bald found it empty, just what I would have suspected from such a big ass "head". Durham bounded over and bit Clive's nose and peed quickly on his body painted head! Raleigh barked at a falling leaf that landed on the porch roof. This distracted everyone at Decca Records just as Clay laughed and kicked Clive's hairy butt all the way back to RCA.

"Time to play!" Clay giggled hysterically, since Clive deserved pee and paint. Clay stepped on a banana peel body painted onto the dance floor, slipped and slide off into a Claymate Zany's arms! When suddenly he girly-squealed and waved at Jaymes, who laughed and hugged Reed, who walked off wearing pumps and a lacey teddy with a picture of Clay tattoed on his tight, nicely rounded biceps! Clay couldn't believe his eyes, when suddenly he saw his Mom drooling. Clay squealed, ""Mommmmmmmm, please, don't make me take a picture of you licking Reed's ice cream cone. Let me handle that myself. Oh!" Clay hit his thigh with his very hard head. "Ow! Ow! Ow!", he cried as the lump grew BIGGER and BIGGER until he couldn't stand the pain.

When suddenly Raleigh started to bark. The doorbell rang. Still holding his hotdog in his hands, Clay hobbled over to the nearest sympathetic person and laid his head on Reed's very sympathetic lap. Reed's response was immediate and obvious but only Clay has the way to make him drop the tutu from his mouth and onto Clay's large, hard wood. Meanwhile, Jaymes answered Parker's screams for somebody to answer Mr. UPS shorts, who was holding a really heavy package addressed to canfly, who was Ruben Studdard. "Wait! I'm, not Ruben!" UPS man apologized. "MY package!" canfly yelled greedily, grabbing Clay's large, hard, frozen Breyer's Peach Ice-cream covered, package. Giggling with glee, Clay jumped up and dropped his hotdog! "I'll get Ruben on the phone. Ice-cream partay!!!!". "I'll go buy a chocolate cake and some pickles", said Jaymes, handing Clay a dollar and tucking it safely in his waistband. "You coming?" "Almost. Keep trying". Jaymes rolled her thumb over his belt buckle and shouted, "It's fake!" Reed's jaw dropped. "The dollar doo-doo-head!"

The next day, Clay awoke to someone sniffing at his sticky chin, covered with melted gooey and sticky, but very fragrant chocolate icing and peanut butter oreos. After thoroughly licking Clay's chin, Raleigh bolted towards Reed, who was wiping off his tutu, before pirouetting perfectly around the room and suddenly ripped the oreo bag

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! :yuk: :yuck: :puke: :hurl: :vomit:

I don't know if I've ever had those? Are hey just sweet or do they have any flavour? I take it they're supposed to look like a kernel of corn, lol? Whatcha gonna do with the big candycorn pillows, lol?

Hee I am so excited! I just bought a new car....all by myself. My DH hasn't seen it or anything and it's all on MY credit! I have wanted to be able to do that for years but they always wanted a co-signer but no more!!!

One of the great things on this car is that it has a hard drive....oh yess....I can play a CD and save it to the car. Guess which one I put in and saved first?

Whaddaya mean they wanted a co-signer? You weren't a big girl before?

    Whaddidjaget?

    it has a hard drive

Should I say something? :naughtywag: Treenuts? You thinkin' what I'm thinkin'? :whistling-1:

  8. do you push buttons when you use it?

    No.

    1. Is it bigger than a breadbasket? No

    2. Does Clay use it? IDK. In general Yes but the specific one I have in mind, IDK but it's quite possible he has one, lol. Can you organize a tour of his house, so I can check?

    3. Does one usually hold it in their hand when in use?Yes

    4. Are batteries involved? No

    5. Do you push buttons when you use it? No

  9. Well, thanks for participating Tribeca.

I was actually considering nuking this activity and putting some other game in it's place cuz it appeared nobody was interested.

If anybody else DOES participate, please include the questions cuz I found myself scrolling back and forth to see what the questions were for 3 or 4 of Tribeca's answers.

  10. Woohoo! We broke 100 votes yesterday! Thank you all so much for playing.

Don't forget to vote at the top of the page!

Uh, huh....and mine wasn't one of them!!! :hissy:

I can't believe that I forgot to vote yesterday. Once of my all-time favs and I missed it???? :tantrum:

Heck, I see that even Sparky got over to vote, lol.

I was home. I was sluffing around, feeling kinda cruddy and not doing much...not busy at all...and no real excuse but I just never got to the games area yesterday outside of Name That Tune... Maybe the flying grease monkey clues had me all confabulated or something, I dunno. :hysterical:

I did go add to the Three Word Story late last night but I totally forgot that I hadn't voted.

I anycase, I vote for Number 1 from yesterday over all 4 OK? Whaddayamean I can't do that? :hissy:

Sparky's gonna be mad when she finds out that she missed the Rolling Stone cover, lol. (I'll make sure to tell her, lol)

She's an old rocker chick, so Clay being on the cover of Rolling Stone is "big deal" to her. The biggest deal was getting her Rolling Stone signed by Clay at the Spamalot SD. It was all we heard about for weeks months.

This is Clay's reaction after 3 failed attempts and this is her presumed last shot to get Clay to sign her RS EVER (we didn't know there would be a second Spamalot run at this point). We're finally positioned right at the SD barrier. Clay comes along and I brazenly shout out, "Clay, you HAVE to sign this for her!" His response, "Oh, I have to? I have to? I have to?" He turned to Jerome to comment about how demanding and bossy canfly was being and we don't know what he said exactly but presumably something like "I don't think I should because she's being pretty danged bossy. What do you think Jerome?". I then began grovelling and babbling on..."Please? Please? Please? She's been waiting for YEARS to get it signed!" At this point, I'm grovelling for my life because, "Sparky's hissing in my ear. Oh GREAT, now he's not going to sign it. If he doesn't sign it, I'm going to KILL you!" and I'm realizing that I will be DEAD if I don't do some first class "eat humble pie" grovelling.

In the end, he signed Sparky's Rolling Stone and we thanked him profusely and we got it all on tape, lol.

This is the back of canfly's head and Clay saying "Oh I have to? I have to? I have to?":

    SigningCPsRSsiggy.gif

And there you have your dose of canfly babble for the day, lol.

Ok, now this one is tough......

    What she said.

    Hafta think about this one.

    Me too.

Fast vote for me. I'm kind of surprised how quickly I voted for #1. Love #2, great memories of the trummy and RS article excitement, but I love the way he has matured, as evidenced by $1, even more. The blond was really working for him in the California sunshine that day. Great set of shots. (despite the mandals! BWAH!) Gorgeous man, all confident and trendy without trying too hard.

    Good points.

    I voted for number 2

the most Clay Aiken skin I have ever seen

Another good point. (and the RS cover was the start of Sparky's "nakey Clay folder"...which is any flash of skin we've ever gotten, lol).

Crap. Gotta decide what I'm gonna vote.... Methinks it will be cool LA Clay vs "youthful skin", lol.

  11. I gotted all excited cuz something that I said got voted to be the thread title cuz I've never been a thread title before...er I mean...oh you know what I mean...anyhow...I was going "Kewl man!"

    :rocker:

...and THEN I opened the thread and I saw....

    "THE PICTURE"

No, no...not the recent stud picture....BUT this:

Good morning everyone! New thread, as well as the winner of the picture tourney yesterday...we went over 100 votes for the first time, I think. Thanks all...and here is yesterday's winner.

    Clay_Aiken_color_5_hi_res.jpg

Today's battle is young vs. "more mature." Hee! Here is today's photo tourney poll!

....and I skidded to a full and complete stop! OMG! I LOVE that picture! It's one of my all-time favourite professionally taken Clay pix of all time.

    :hubbahubba:

You mean I missed voting for THAT? How in the HELL did I miss seeing a tourney with THAT picture????? How did I miss going to vote???? :yow: I dunno....I had the Name that Tune window open, trying to decipher clues about flying monkeys, and never escaped I guess, lol.

    :dan:

So, LdyJ can you make it 103 votes and tack another vote on for the winner for me huh? :cryingwlaughter:

Hee I love this thread title!

    :confetti-1:

Well, the was my one bit of cleverness for the Month. Don't expect anything else witty from me for awhile, K? :wordpooper:

    Deccacrop-1.jpg

    funky-DancingPickle.gif

    OMG! That's hysterical!!! :lmao:

I have to post a small complaint, though. Our banner is v. v. distracting!!! I have never mistyped so many things, clicked on the wrong buttons and failed to click the right ones in my life!!! We need some major warning signs around it!!!

I forgot to say this on the first day bec. my mind turned to molasses. but thank you so much for a beautiful job, cindilu2!!! And thanks also for getting it up so quickly.

    :thankyou::BlowKiss:

Aww, thanks Scarlett. :thbighug-1: It's certainly the fastest banner I've ever made, lol. I do have another, more carefully constructed one, but maybe I'll wait a few days. I did, however, decide to do away with the Decca dude altogether. *g* (((Decca Dude)))

No Decca dude? Just being a good little fact checker here... I originally called David the A&R guy, "the Decca dude" but I've since since some people refer to Clay as "the Decca dude". Which Decca dude ya gettin' rid of, lol?

    :cryingwlaughter:

Oh hey, BTW....Has anybody else here ever start to reply to two threads at the same time and merrily click away at the quote buttons and then click reply on the one thread and find all of the quotes from both threads all thrown in there together and then have to go throw and sort them?

    No?

Just me huh with the ADD?

    :moron:

  12. :helloFCA:

    AWESOME banner!

What's better than a new photo of Clay to play with!!

Lots of Clay with Sally's Claze and a Rebus puzzles, plus a couple of exciting favourite videos to create some more enthusiasm:

    Clay-The Man Fans Share Enthusiasm

Yeah to Decca! It's neat they promote their artists, and noticed the response to their Tweet on Clay! Last time I checked, the photo has been viewed over 20,000 times..

huggles.gif to you for your visits to my blog .

Way cool graphic Ashes!!!! I love it!!!

  13. Dat last stuff wuzn't suggestions.

Didja mean to put the last to posts sumwhere else, lol?

    Canfly's suggestion:

Askie Cindy on bended knee to make the banners wider or else make the areas on either side of the banner be mint green to match the background green? Or maybe both?

The black is kinda stark. JMHPBO.

  14. I started a reply here a couple of days ago, starting from my first post here and quoted stuff and then lost it.

I'm sure I would have had some witty stuff to say, lol.

What was interesting as I went through was people who posted like 4 or 5 times and went bye-bye and then I was noticing certain people *coughtribecaandcanflycough* have kinda post-whored, lol.

:welcome: those who posted in this thread in the last year and who have stayed! :hello:

  15. New tweet:

  16. Canfly

I was just playing your ABC's game do you really have 19 kids? And did you really have your head X Rayed?

I was actually gonna go delete that thread and put a different game in cuz that one sorta went over like a lead balloon, lol. I'll go check out your answers.

Kids are only mine from 9 to 3:30 M-F, lol. I'm a teacher. The kids are all Grade 1 and 2, lol. First day back for kids is September 8th. I have PA days on Sept 2nd and 3rd. Was gonna go to the school today to do bulletin boards but after all of the excitement last night, I couldn't get to sleep, so I feel like crap today. I remember looking at the clock about 6:30 and I still hadn't gotten to sleep yet. Ugh. I gots a headyachey now.

Different lighting (indoor/outdoor) different days, different looks - don't care how he got it, just care that he looks fabulous!!! LOL, wouldn't be the Clay boards if there weren't something to question though, would it?

    ETA:

The other dude looks pretty golden in this photo too - maybe it's the lighting?

Definitely lighting played big part. Airport picture was outside. Decca one inside. I've seen pix that have been "colour-adjusted".

I'll go save one. Hang on.
