Here is a picture we took last October of the mural (Clay looks like a singing waiter, LOL). Thanks for correcting me about the gala seats, I knew I'd probably have it mixed up! Just noticed you in the pic, cute!!

I believe silver tickets are $1000 (10 at a table = $10,000) and gold are $2500 (25 at a table = $25,000)? Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, I'm sure. I have never (nor will ever) be able to afford anything but the cheap seats, and even those for me are a stretch! So you've never been given the Raleigh Clay tour? We did it once ourselves in 2004, and then again last year for Claymatron's benefit. Of course, that involves renting a car (or procuring one from a local. ) Nothing stalkerish, of course, but there are landmarks like the RBC Centre, Clay's high school, the museum where his clothes are on display, the famous Krispy Kreme store on Peace Street, the mural on the outside of Faye's store, Dort N'Arena, etc etc etc. I'm sure there are other things of historical significance unrelated to Clay.....is the state fair going to be on this year at the same time as the gala? You can't miss the deep fried apples, twinkies, Mars bars and pickles. I'd skip the deep fried mac 'n cheese if I were you! We're arriving on Thursday, and leaving either Sunday or Monday. If anyone interested in doing that Raleigh Clay Tour I would love to join you. I've never been to Raleigh before. It is just an embedded youtube video so I don't know why you'd be getting a white box. The video is available in the Clack Unlimited vault (as are all TV appearances) and to me, it's just so much easier (not to mention better quality) downloading videos from there, rather than streaming them from sites like youtube. Usually there is not much point in this neck of the woods. But I have a couple coming from different places....I'm looking forward to listening for the first time! We've had really strong winds here since yesterday, and my neighbour's shed has a loose piece of metal on the roof that is making a horrible banging sound. The poor puppy is scared to go out in the yard to pee because of it so I have to go out with her to show her it's ok. Argh, and she seems to have lost the ability to hold her bladder over night since she got spayed, so last night we were up at 2:30 and 5:30 and I gave up trying to sleep after that. LOL. Not that I'm complaining, she isn't having accidents, she is just waking me up to say "hey, I have to go!" Today, my grand pug puppy is coming to visit. Hee, this will be interesting! You're just like a new mom with her newborn baby! Who is going to babysit when you go to NYC with your daughter?

Glad to hear about vacation approval and gala in Oct. I'm really hope that I'll also be able to go to Raleigh in October. It will be great to see you there! Congratulations on new puppy!

I think that they only book for 2 but if it were possible to be 3 I wouldn't mind since I've met you and it would be fun. Let me know for sure if you wouldn't mind sharing with me. It would still be less even with no discount and convenient to be at hotel of gala. We don't even know yet if we can get tickets. Hope everything works out. I'm getting excited!! We wouldn't mind sharing with you at all! Three people shouldn't be a problem. They might even offer a discounted/block rate through the foundation/gala at a later date, which we should be able to call & work out with the hotel if that's the case.
