  1. KAndre groggily logs on...

    I'm alive!

And only walking around a teensy bit when I have no witnesses...

See, al; you norther Houstonians neeed to live with my in Greenway Plaza...

    Hydrocodne is interesting.

clazycoffin, I agree that he doesn't belt as much and there is definitely some stylistic differences from MOAM to OMWH - I know some others werr missing deep voice clay - I think he's lost a little of a youthful purity of tone - but I think it depends on the song....he did a lot more deep voice clay on the demos (dreamlover and the blood really come to mind) but to me Clay isvery much a lyric tenor at heart...

ETA: Somebody needs to fix this post.

Alrighty, I'm not imagining things! Thanks much, KAndre and hope your drugs wear off soon! Unless, of course, you're really enjoying the trip, in which case I wonder if you could mail me a sample!

    :Kolobok_Laie_haha:

  2. Now I'll grab a burrito for me and my younger daughter and we'll watch the debate together---

Debate??? Debate??? Who cares about the debate???

The ONLY contest that matters tonight is the one on FOX!!!!!!!!

PHILLIES v.s the Dodgers. IF, IF, IF the PHILLIES win, we go to the WORLD SERIES!!!!

    Who needs a debate!!!!

    (I'm so nervous I can't stand it!!!)

You wouldn't happen to teach Political Science, would you? :lmaosmiley-1:

My PSC teacher is a big Phillies fan... Gee, I wonder what he's doing tonight, watching the debate or the Phillies?

  3. <snip>

Much as I like Inigo Montoya, though, I have to say that I got a couple of cd's from the actor who plays him (jazzgirl and I discussed this a couple of days back) but I've been disappointed to the point of not playing these -- Clay could have done those way, way better and I'm not settling for anything less in the meantime. I might try again after a few days but for now I'm back to MOAM (yay! belated happy 5th anniversary!) More on this later, maybe I'll post a few links to compare mp3's. There have been a few songs here and there that I liked (or thought I liked) from Mandy but they're a very small minority compared to the rest of the CDs. On many songs I'm gritting my teeth in frustration because it sounds like he's overcompensating for something, like not having Clay's, uh, voice! :cryingwlaughter:

Um, I've been having this thought lately and since y'all have been listening to Clay longer than I have I thought I'd ask: Does anyone else think his voice seemed to change a bit with each CD? I mean, he definitely sounded different on AI than he did on LWLHD 1&2 to me (more 'country' on LWLHD) and he sounded different on ATDW than he did on MOAM and AI (I like to say the full titles, by the way) and he sounds really, really different on OMWH than he did on any of the previous stuff. It seems like he pitches his voice higher on OMWH and doesn't 'belt' quite as much.

So, um, is it the songs, his voice, or am I just imagining things?

EDIT: I included that quote because it reminded me of the above. :D

  4. I know we sorta passed this topic already, but since I saw it as I was catching up, I can't resist saying that Tuesday a classmate and I are doing a presentation on gay marriage being legalized in CT. We both come down on the side of "YAY" so it'll be a blast to see the rest of the class's reaction. (We live in AL.)

We're using music in the pres. too. Katy Perry's "I Kissed A Girl", Seal's "Kiss From A Rose", Darth Vader's theme (for them nasty anti's)... and CLAY AIKEN! *streamers, confetti* We put up a map of which states allow gay marriage, which states have constitutionally prohibited gay marriage (BOO), and so on and so forth. I thought playing Clay's version of "God Bless the USA" would be a perfect capper to the pres.

    :D

OK, I'm done randomly blathering. ;P

  5. This whole Chef Boyardee thing makes me wonder just how much of a non-cook, bachelor-esque man Clay is... does he eat it straight out of the can without warming it up? I mean, if you're totally lazy, it actually doesn't taste that bad.

Not that I would know. I mean... um..

    :whistling-1:

EDIT: Have to say I agree with KAndre... socks and sandals makes about as much sense as that whole miniskirt and fur boot craze.

  6. Okay, y'all....I don't know if this is a bad website or just an irreverent one, but I got this link in a Google Alert and it CMSU! I was sitting here at my desk giggling like an idiot!

It's called "Clay Aiken Remixed"...and somebody's taken some clips of Clay making funny faces and funny noises (giggles and eeeeks and whatnot) in interviews and put them to techno music....

    It's a riot!

    Clay Aiken Remixed

If Clay's video isn't the main one featured when you click on the link, look over to the left and then find his...

    :Kolobok_Laie_haha: :lmaosmiley-1: :hysterical:

    Ah-ha-ha!! :cryingwlaughter:

    That was freaking hilarious!!

I'm just surprised they didn't have that thing where he's interviewing someone (like for the Insider?) and squeaks after getting kissed on the cheek.

  7. *dashes onto the board to see if there are any new posts*

Wow, all the Spamalot talk makes me sooo jealous. I live in AL and I'm in school, so while I could get a ticket for an OK price, I totally couldn't afford to fly and that's the only way I could get out to NY and back without missing classes. :^( Oh, well, I can always dream!

Whoa. I have another newbie question. Can someone tell me why the Clack of the finale is titled Anomaly?

  8. OK, since somebody (I don't remember who) mentioned the Larry King interview and I've never seen it, I had to go watch. Now I'm a little confused, but not about the interview itself. They showed a clip from AI where Clay is singing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" with a blue-robed choir while he's wearing a leather jacket. I've only ever seen him sing BOTW with a red-robed choir while he's wearing a white, striped shirt. Can someone tell me when he did the leather jacket version?

  9. So Queen Latifah said,
I do have a problem discussing my personal life. You don't get that part of me.
    :14:

I hope she has more luck than Clay has had with that strategy.

Assholes. You know, it's as if 'they' just have to find something--some 'material'-- to offer the slimebuckets of the world (PH and JP and the late night talk show hosts, etc.) so they can think of something to actually...you know....SAY. I mean, GOd forbid they actually intelligently discuss something of real consequence.

    Idiots. Assholes.

Don't keep your emotions pent up like this muskifest. I mean, you should let us know how you really feel about things. ;)
