  1. Hmm. Thanks for the info, cha cha! I might get the trial versions and try to figure them. I'm not especially bright when it comes to computers and stuff though--the exception to the stereotype that all teenagers are good with electronics. :P

Well... I'm a little self conscious, but since you asked for it...

  2. Thanks for the pictures and the explanation, Bottlecap! I never watched season 2 and I only saw pieces of Rewind, so I had no idea what it was. I thought it was very cool-looking, though!

Nice recap, cha cha trusty! I like reading the recaps, even though I don't quite know what's going on. Ha!

I have another plea for help random question. Is there an easy to use, free, image editing program out there that's better than paint? I'm trying my hand at making my own backgrounds and I thought I did OK for it being my first time, but... let's just say I'm no cindilu2! :cryingwlaughter:

  3. Well, this trip is starting so well...

Just got a call from United Airlines. Our early morning flight tomorrow has been CANCELLED due to fog! AAAAAARGH! Fortunately, the lady was as helpful as she could be. Unfortunately, it really messes up our schedule! We are now leaving a different airport (about an hour and a half away) at 6:00 pm tomorrow evening, and we'll be arriving at LaGuardia instead of JFK. And then, our flight back on Tuesday has to be rescheduled a bit as well. Just got off the phone with Orbitz -- our SuperShuttle Reservation has been cancelled, and I'm getting ready to schedule a new reservation (out of LaGuardia to Manhattan).

    I'm ready to scream.

Poor ldyjocelyn! I hope things start working out better for you!

Geesh! I'm all behind! Let's see... Cute bear! Merry (belated) Christmas everyone! Have good trips Couch Tomato and Bookwhore!

Hope I didn't miss anything... Oh! I did have a random question/request! Does anyone have a good picture of that necklace Clay wore on Idol? It looked like a large chain of some sort... I know he wore it when he sang "At This Moment" but I can't remember the other times..

  4. Howdy, FCA!! I missed all y'all while I was away! And I had a heckuva welcome back--first thing I saw when I clicked the topic were a zillion pictures of stubble!Clay! I just about died, but that's OK. Near-death experiences are a small price to pay for stubble!Clay. :cryingwlaughter:

Anyway, being gone for a week makes it hard to catch up with the topic. I was still on page thirty. (And my fingers keep adding a 'd' to that word... odd...) This computer is going to get really slow once the clock strikes 12, though, so I'll have to catch up later.

    Dangit, why didn't I make a note of the stubble!Clay page? D'OH!!

  5. Well, unfortunately I don't have time to catch up with where the thread has gone and is going, but I just wanted to tell all ye FCA-ers that I'm heading out until about the 22! I'm going on a Christmas trip with my mother--and a fully loaded iPod of Clack! Let's see how long before my mother tells me to play some Bo Bice...

ETA: Well, not fully loaded, exactly... only about four gigabytes. Hah!

  6. Guh.

Anyone wanna come help me build an ark? It's been raining steadily here for the last three days and there's roughly eight inches of water standing in my backyard. There would be more, but my neighbor's yard is lower than ours.

Ehhhhhhhhh. I hope nuffing floods. I'm going to be leaving tomorrow.... I think the rain might be stopped by then. Hope so anyway...

  7. Whoosh! Lots of stuff to read after a couple of slow days. How does anyone get caught up if they've been gone for a few?

Anyway, I'm gonna make a couple of scattershots 'cause most of what I think has already been said... First, the Star thing. I feel a little sheepish b/c my Mom has a subscription and I sometimes find myself reading it (typically, in the bathroom when it's either Star or staring at the wall!). But, anyway, I feel that even though most of the article is crap, at least it is positive crap, right? I mean it's better than snide little comments about either or the both of them.

And, even though I feel a little funny welcoming a new person since I consider myself a new person, it's nice to meetcha claylaughs! *waves in typical overly enthusiastic c-coffin fashion*

That Lycos thing... Is it just lycos.com searches? Not, like, Google or Yahoo! searches? Because I think Google and Yahoo!Search are probably the most widely used... not that I'm complaining or anything. Just thinking.

And, ERGH! I just spent an extraordinarily frustrating 45 minutes trying to figure out why I couldn't transfer my Clack onto my iPod as a TV show before finally figuring out it was only transferring stuff I hadn't watched yet! GAH! It's not easy being compu-stupid.

Anyway... That's enough of me. Now we need... hmm...

    Clay-AMAs2006.jpg

Yep, that's what we need. Sorry there's no is he/isn't he Reed. :D

  8. To my friends here at FCA...

With a special MUAH to annabear...

Isn't it AMAZING how much he looks like that photo right now, three years later?

As for the Creed? I'm having just as much fun with it as I had with the Clannah (or even the Clocke). You remember fun, right? It's something that is mostly lacking in the board-dom these days, so if we can have a few giggles with this without having to put a disclaimer on every post, that's fine by me. It's been too long.

Clay could easily avoid offending the gentle sensibilities of all those who are hung up on his veracity regardless of the questions asked, by simply stating 'None of your fucking business' whenever he's asked anything that is private and/or to which the answer might possibly not be carved in stone and therefore subject to change.

    :cryingwlaughter:

That would be beyond awesome. Imagine the tabloid frenzy. "GAY AMERICAN IDOL RUNNER-UP CLAY AIKEN TELLS FANS TO FUCK OFF"

    *hyperventilatehyperventilate!!*

  9. OT, but I wanted to ramble a little more about my ongoing problem with my radio station and MDYK. Now they ARE playing Kenny Rogers' version (from what I can tell) INSTEAD of Clay's. *headdesk* Dude... I wanted you to play Clay and credit it correctly!!

It's making me wonder if they were paying Kenny when they were playing Clay.

OOH! And twelve feet, three inches of sexiness! Y'AHH! :hubbahubba:

  10. Yeah, the dude who emailed me said that what I heard was Kenny Rogers' and sent me links to the amazon.com clips to prove it, informing me that you can hear the difference. I listened to the Kenny Rogers clip and I agree. You can definitely tell the difference. So, anyway, I just told him that I own two different versions of Clay's MDYK and I've heard concert versions and heard it on TV. I should have added the bit about the widget version being Rogers but the radio version being... not Rogers.

Anyway, if I get another email insisting it's Kenny Rogers, I think I'm just gonna let it go.

Muskifest! I'm hurt that you would even consider the possibility that I'm wrong! HURT, I SAY! :cryingwlaughter: Just kidding! I actually considered the possibility myself...

  11. Ugh. I don't know if anybody remembers, but I mentioned a couple of days ago that my local radio station was playing Clay's MDYK but the yes.com widget thing they use to list the songs was crediting Kenny Rogers so I emailed them about the problem. I just got an email today where they're insisting that it actually was Kenny Rogers' version... I'm gonna email them back again. Who knows, maybe they'll believe me.

ETA: And, when it comes to the widget, they're right. It is Kenny Rogers. But the widget is supposed to be listing the songs that are playing on the radio and what they were (I haven't been listening the last couple of days) playing on the radio was Clay's. ERGH! Why does everything have to be complicated?

  12. For me the issue isn't shipping; those who enjoy shipping and did so before Clay confirmed he was gay are going to continue...what I find a bit disingenuous are those who shipped when they thought Clay was straight, but are now so concerned with his privacy that shipping is off limits. The pictures posted; to me; were no different than the picture posted of Clay and Hannah; Jaymes, Kristy, etc. and I didn't and don't see anything wrong with the same kind of speculation that went on when Clay was presumed straight.

It seems like some are okay with Clay being gay as long as they don't have to see him being gay.

    Kim

    :cryingwlaughter:

That gave me the really, really naughty thought about what actions constitute "being gay".

Maybe I do have a dirty mind... :o

  13. Nobody take offense at this, but the whole are they/aren't they? stuff makes me feel like I'm in high school and we're all gossiping about the popular boy and who he might be dating!

I mean, I love it, but I also find it hilarious.

And, not to take any space away from the man, but maybe we could get a few more pictures of Reed Kelly? :sleezy:

Why are all the really cute guys gay? Whyyyy?

  14. bottle, I agree re: the tone of the discussion at CH. It's actually been interesting..However, I must express my concern over Couchie's blood pressure and wonder if perhaps I should make a quick drive to Casa Couchie to check on her? :lilredani:

and luckiest....It's interesting, too, to read your reaction to that article. I actually came away from reading it with the impression that the writer is seeing the same things that we here have talked about (without the specific reference to Clay's music)...that the current state of music is horrid and that what is considered Grammy worthy doesn't come CLOSE to what used to be applauded as good, let alone GREAT...Those particular quotes I used were things that DID specifically make me think of points of discussion about Clay's music.

bottle, I've always :hubbahubba: that pic of Clay in the blue shirt with his hands in his back pockets. And every time I look at it I see that bright horizontal brand label in his right front pocket POINTING the way to where my eyes SHOULD go! :sleezy:

Beautiful, crisp day here in the Bay Area. :yess:

ETA: Couchie, I was evidently writing and posting and doing all that smilie finding and whatnot while you were actually posting---I'm just funning with you, you know. :BlowKiss:

I agree about the state of music thing--seriously I only have one problem with most singers today... THEY CAN'T SING!! Just a little thing to ask, really, that maybe the music could be... I dunno... musical, have a tune, some semblance to rhythm, maybe even a note or two stuck in...

Anyway, as to the part I bolded, I love that picture too! (Un?)fortunately, I'm not quite as smutty as dear muskifest because my favorite part is the way it stretches over his chest and makes him look like he has pecs! :cryingwlaughter:

Also, this isn't really important or anything, but my local radio station that's been playing Clay's MDYK has been crediting Kenny Rogers on yes.com's widget thingy, so I emailed yes.com, not really expecting anything back... but I got an email today saying it had been forwarded on (to the proper people, I assume) so here's hoping that crediting problem gets fixed!

  15. Bottlecap, that picture? Wow! I can't muster up anything more intelligent than that. Wowza?

And I love that picture of him with the blond hair, dark jacket, jeans, and sandals. So pretty!

Hm... I just heard MDYK again. I know someone (merieeee?) said that OHN is getting a lot of play, but I haven't heard ANY versions of OHN in the last three days that I've been listening to a lot of Christmas radio, except one--Josh Groban's. Nothing against Josh and I like him just fine, but I prefer Clay, darnit!

ETA: Oh, but at least he got his name mentioned after MDYK played.

  16. Are anyone else's local radio stations doing nonstop Christmas carols or even just some-stop Christmas carols? I despise the radio, but I'm afraid of 'not hearing' my Clay anymore... (You know, how your mind wanders during a song and you realize you've listened to the whole thing without hearing it? Yeah, I do that.)

Anyway, is Dolly Parton and somebody's duet version of "A Christmas to Remember" really popular for any of y'all? Because I heard it three times in the space of two hours. Not that it's a bad song, in my opinion, but that's a little much.

What is awesome, however, was that I heard Clay's "Mary, Did You Know" while I was driving. :yess: My radio stations do not play nearly enough Clay--but I was listening in the hopes that Christmastime would bring him out.

Also, about the not being able to listen to other stuff--DEFINITELY! I have a primacy thing, I think, and like whatever I hear first. So I like Clay's "SSTBTHW" more than Sir Elton's.

  17. Thanks for explaining that for me. That was what I meant, the topic came back around to Clay and the lying thing. Apparently there are still some fans with unresolved issues. Even though I don't understand why they are hanging onto their bitterness or anger or whatever, it does bring up a lot of interesting conversation and really thoughtful posts. Unfortunately, many of the ones who still have issues with it have a mental block about it so until they are ready to let go, they aren't going to get what the other posters are saying. But that is there issue, not Clay's and if they are looking for something more from Clay, then they are going to be disappointed. It's not his job to make them feel better, and they need to work things out for themselves.

Another topic going on over at CH that I thought was interesting is whether Clay should do a cd with all of his AI songs. It wouldn't matter to me either way because I loved those songs and how he sang them and I'd enjoy hearing the full versions. Of course, I would also love to hear new material from him too, cover or not, so I'm easy. As far as the critics go, I really don't think him being trashed by the critics is an issue in whether to do it or not because no matter what he does, he seems to draw heat. Apparently some of these critics seem to think that a singer must be an emotional trainwreck who doesn't bathe in order to be some type of creative genius. In my opinion, to be a critic, one must be tone deaf and an idiot, so there you go.

    :cryingwlaughter:

I totally agree! I mean, I subscribe to Entertainment Weekly (I know... I'm weak!) and they NEVER have anything good to say about Clay. And then they go hyperventilate over Britney Spears. Hello? Hello? I thought this was supposed to be about singing! If anyone tries to tell me Britney Spears sings better than Clay Aiken... BLEARGH!

  18. So, it's official. The president has cancelled all vacation time for the rest of the year for our department. Howevever, anyone with non-refundable tickets (i.e. flights) gets a pass. *whew* That was freaking close. I feel bad for everyone else, though. It's not right, regardless, as far as I'm concerned. I hope they let them carry the days over to 2009.

Liney, I'm shocked and appalled at your attitude. What do you have against brocolli????? :P;)

Good to hear that you escaped!

  19. *ignores all the depressing OMGLIESLIESLIES talk*

    WHOOOOO-HOOOOOOO!!

I got an A on my first 8 page+ history term paper! And my professor said I'm SMART!!!

If I wasn't ready to collapse, I'd be boogieing like nobody's business, but since I am, I'm gonna let the sexbomb do it for me!

    wolfie_clay-dance.jpg

I know y'all prob'ly don't much care... but I can't keep it all to myself!

  20. Third picture... Total attack of thudly-ness.

You beat me to it, Bottlecap, I was just about to say that the last few pages had been suffering from a lack of the sexy!

I seem to be all about the stubble today, and have been scouring for beard!Clay or stubble!Clay pictures.

    068ok.jpg

ETA: The left shot in the first picture... I initially thought his hair was really crazy... then I realized it was a fern behind his head casting a shadow! :cryingwlaughter: Yeah--I'm observant!
