  1. Hmmmm, I have my name on one list for group tickets, and already have my Chatauqua ticket through a friend, but I don't feel like I'm trying to rush anything. I'm just lazy and can avoid doing the Ticketmaster tango this way! LOL.

Speaking of the Beatles and external hard drives.......I have three externals (160 gb, 200 gb, 250 gb) named George, John and Paul. Hee, can Ringo be far behind? I also have hundreds of data dvds burned off, mostly the same clack that is on the externals. I am ready for anything!

One thing I make sure to back up to an external on a regular basis is my master file folder for my iTunes library. I've put a lot of time and effort into getting so much audio organized, I'd hate to lose it.

I love, love, love the Beatles Love album, and I also love the Beatles at the Beeb and the Anthology series. I can't seen to find my Anthology Cds though.......only the DVDs. I'll have to search some old boxes.....

It's funny. I've found a musical genre that I can enjoy with each of my 3 kids (who are 15, 19, and 21). The youngest is really into the Beatles right now, and we listen to all of my old Beatles Cds when we are driving around. The 19 year old is an Elvis freak. He just can't get enough. He and I have tickets to attend the big concert at the Collingwood ON Elvis festival this July (please Clay, no Toronto concert on July 28th, I beg of you). The oldest, my daughter, is my partner in crime and attends all Clay concerts with me. Well, almost all, I'm 2 up on her, and she won't let me forget it. :P

  2. The madness over tickets at CH is curazuh. Lists and manic behaviour. I tried to get on a certain list well in advance but someone over there just doesn't like me and never has.

{{{hugs}}} I'd be complaining to the mods, if I were you. Like/dislike shouldn't play into anything....but we all know it often does.

So apparently someone on the CB found an Oct. 24th date listed for somewhere in NY, on a broker site? Wonder if there's any truth to it. And I read a few posts saying that it might be a Christmas date........bwah ha ha! Clay loves him some Christmas, but even he is not crazy enough to celebrate it before Halloween! :P

  3. {{{Hugs}}} to muski and all who need them today. Your story about the laptop really made me sit up and take notice. I work in a "locked" environment and routinely leave my bag, iPod, etc laying around, figuring no one will take it. So far I've been lucky, but I don't think I'll be so careless in the future.

Soo.....July 25th in NH? Interesting. He does seem to be criss-crossing a bit. Perhaps he is flying rather than driving to a lot of these shows. I hope we hear something about band and back ups soon. As much as I hope Quiana comes back, I won't be heartbroken if it turns out to be just the orchestra.

Ooops, can't end this post without at least one emoticon.

    ETA: Welcome, cha cha trusty!

  4. Ooooh oooh oooh iPod discussion! If you don't have one.......it is seriously worth it. But buy an extended warranty, if you can. Mine is an old dinosaur now, a mini, they don't even make them anymore, but it's still got a year left on warranty. If it dies, I can probably get a huge 80gb video iPod for what I paid for it. ;)

My little 4gb holds about 1000 songs, and is 1/3 Clay stuff. So he comes up rather often, if I put it on random. :) I love that you can create playlists that search the database for you (i.e. all Clay songs, all non-Christmas Clay songs, etc). You can also choose to listen by artist or by album or just a mix.

I have lots of Beatles, solo George, Paul, and John, Fleetwood Mac, Amanda Marshall, Elton John, Blue Rodeo, solo Jim Cuddy, Billy Klippert, Cher, BCR, Dixie Chicks, Music & Lyrics Soundtrack, Melissa Ethridge, and lots of other random stuff.

ETA: Since I have started walking daily, my iPod is my best friend. Keeps me company, keeps me motivated!

  5. {{{georgiaclay}}} The Biltmore is on a Saturday. :)

For anyone who might be interested in hearing Beatles music with a bit of a twist, try the new "Love" CD. They've taken original Beatles music and mixed some of the songs together, etc. It's pretty cool! George Martin and his son produced, with the remaining Beatles' and Yoko's and Olivia's blessings.

  6. OK...sorry but when all of you white girls were singing I love you yeah yeah yeah I was screaming for The Jacksno Five. Heeee. Actually I was probably hiding in the closet with my radio and not listening to any of this devil music. heee.

Hee, I sang "she loves you yeah yeah yeah".........my mom has good old Super8 video of it! I was one year old and wore a Beatle wig. ;) By the time I was of screaming age, I was screaming for the Bay City Rollers! *waves to ldyjocelyn* I rediscovered the Beatles in my teens, along with a lot of other 50s and 60s music. I'd love Clay to sing Rocky Racoon (and just think, he wouldn't have to fake the accent like Paul did, LOL) or he could sing some George Harrison like Here Comes the Sun or Something and then I'd have to die on the spot. It's ok, because when I hear the guitar solo on RHW, I imagine George is playing it, anyways.

Come on, more dates! Although I think I'm already pretty much set with the ones that were announced yesterday. But I want EVERYONE to be able to find a concert that works for them! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

  7. Hee, couchie, you are CMSU. You've never heard the Beatles White Album?

Thanks for the kind words. Sometimes I just can't hold my tongue and have to tell it like it is. But if this board keeps moving like it has been moving, I'm hoping to just hang out here more. Talk about girls just want to have fun! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

I'm in the strange position this summer of having tons of vacation and little to no $$. So far, two of the five concerts I'm looking at are general admission and therefore quite inexpensive. $38 and $16 to be exact! We'll have to see about the others. If I can drive them all and split the cost of gas and hotels with friends, they will be doable.

My dream is to fly out for the first show, whereever it may be. That remains to be seen, where it is and whether it's doable. LOL.

Any set list works for me, but I'm with ldyjocelyn that the concert should and will open with RHW. :medium-smiley-070:

  8. I wonder if those New York state venues are meant to appease the Canadian fans? So close yet so far?

They've appeased me!!!!! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Looks like a NY-OH threefer! And the timing is perfect too, becoss I have family stuff at the end of July. Heh, watch, just becoss I said that they'll post a bunch of Canadian dates then. LOL.

I'm also thinking about doing a roadtrip to NC for the Cary/Asheville twofer. I attended the Cary JBT, and just by complete luck managed to pull up 2nd row reserved seats on the Ticketmaster public sale. It was the hottest I've ever been in my life, but it was sooooo worth it. Asheville sounds very prestigious, and the scenery looks gorgeous. I've never been to that part of NC. So if an FCA get together was planned for NC, I'd definitely be there!

  9. Hee, emoticons. What a controversial subject. :medium-smiley-070:

I agree, they can be annoying and sometimes dangerous when you are at work surfing when you should be working. However, I've been able to get around that by turned images off on my browser. Unfortunately, sometimes I don't catch the tone of a post as well if I can't see the emoticon. Imagine that!

What deep, dark, sinister meaning was there behind Clay's use of the dancing fruit?????? Was he snarking on his fangirly fans? Was he pointing fingers? Or was he just being a little shit? It's being discussed all over Claynation today. OMFG. I posted a snarky opinion elsewhere about what I thought it meant, just because the whole stupid conversation was so OTT. I can't believe anyone took me seriously. Obviously, my meaning would have been crystal clear if I had just been able to use a ;) or a :P.

    :rainbowsmile::allgood:

All I can say is.........is it March 31st yet? I can't wait to see the man in person! :hubbahubba:

  10. Wheeeeeeee! Clayzorback is here! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Thanks, bottlecap. We got the Merrillville series finished up yesterday, and they have been uploaded to CV, and CH has been made aware of them, as well. Hopefully they'll be uploaded to our own site by tonight, and I will post a link here then. But if you have a key to CV or CH, please d/l them from there to spare our bandwidth.

I loved the blog. It was so awesome to wake up to this morning! I teared up at the part about the crowded room, when he said "YAY me!" And I laughed my ass off at other parts. He really has me wrapped around his little finger. He is such a goober with his thread-starting at the OFC. What a riot! Loved that he used the dancing fruit emoticon that so many there have complained about, too. ;)

I wish some fans *cough*pod*cough* wouldn't automatically assume that "things in development" means "new CD". It could mean anything, and I am excited to find out what he has in store for us, but I am not going to put all my eggs in one basket. I have a thing about that.

  11. Ok, I am taking a deep breath now. I must be good and not start fantasizing about every concert that gets confirmed. I have to be very careful about what concerts I choose. Once we know all the dates, then I can eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and choose my concerts. We WILL find a time for an FCA get together. I will find some at least semi-local concerts and I may even plan just one more lengthy trip for multiple concerts. I will be good as to what I can spend and try to get the most bang for my buck. I cannot go to every concert. I may not make it to the first or the last <snip> but what concerts I do get to, I will love I am sure!

I swear I'm going to print this out in a very large font and tack it above my computer, both at home and at work. It describes me to a T!

It's exciting. I've done this a lot, and I'm still already tingling with the excitement. I like wondering what cities he'll be in and so forth. I enjoy this time. I'm a lot more laidback now about tickets too. I don't feel like I have to buy one in the first five minutes if good tickets are not coming up. I've gotten great tickets half-hour into sales more than once, including gala tickets lately. I've gotten decent tickets a month before the show. I've never bought a ticket from a broker.

You go girl! Me too! I am not going to secumb to ticket stress and I definitely will never go the broker route.

{{{muskifest}}} No chance of taking a red-eye flight Saturday night?

  12. Simon? Can't stand him, never could. I think he's an arrogant ass. But to me, when he rolls his eyes at contestants who talk about using their success to help others, it's because he's cynical like that, and just plain doesn't believe them. Personally, 9 times out of 10, I don't either, because that's just the way the world works (especially the entertainment industry). People will say *anything* to advance themselves.

So, I have no idea whether Simon is actually charitably generous in his personal life. I'm sure someone here must know more than I do about that. But I don't object to the Idol Gives Back show, because as long as the funds go where they are supposed to, no matter what the means of getting the funds is, it's worth it. I also think that somehow, someway, in some capacity (whether it's only as an audience member or as a taped message), Clay will be included. It's just too much his thing not to be.

Touring partner? I'd rather he didn't, but if it helped him gain new fans, it'd be ok, I guess. There's no one except Canadian Amanda Marshall who I'd be interested sitting through, though. They'd kill on a duet! At this point, I don't think it's likely to happen, since neither of the two venues we already know about have mentioned a co-tour.

I can't belive how dead the boards are today.

  13. Something else to speculate about. What is Clay going to do between now and then that makes them think he can fill the Nokia this summer (or enough seats to make it worth it)? Cause I think they wouldn't be going for venues of this size if they weren't aware of some big publicity coming down the pike. They could just as easily have gone for small theaters with this type of show.

I agree, the venues do seem a bit larger than what I was anticipating. It makes me excited to think that there might be some publicity coming that we aren't aware of yet. :D

ETA: I checked out the website for the Nokia, and apparently it has configurations of 1800 and change, 3500, 4500, and the full 6300. So who knows?

Sooooo....apparently David Foster talked about being with Clive Davis in New York two days ago, on a CBC program last night. Hee! I wonder if maybe they could be collaborating on a project for Clay. :medium-smiley-070: Apparently, they were also discussing Whitney Houston.

  14. And yes, "Sorry" SHOULD be on the set list. Hmmmmm. Ok, how about this. There are 16 songs on ATDW counting the two bonus tracks. So he does all 16 (not necessarily in the order in which they appear on the album), add all our suggestions of songs NOT on the album, the 4 one-word-title songs we've never heard, including that one called "Mysterious" from that one track list, then add 4 of the sure-to-be rockin' orginal songs from the "Lost Album". That's only 24 songs. He could 12 a half!

    Works fro me! :medium-smiley-070:

Hee, me too! I was driving to work this morning and the first line of Sorry came on and I figuratively kicked myself that we'd forgotten to put it on our set list!

  15. Uptempo? How about I Want To Break Free by Queen? *shit, where did that little green pod person emoticon go?* :medium-smiley-070:

George Michael? I vote for One More Try. But if he sang it, I'd be dead on the floor.

As much as it would be cool for the concert to be split into 2 parts (orchestra vs. band) I think that what we'll get is more along the lines of the first JNT concert - an orchestra with some band members and back up singers, and, of course, Clay. For the whole concert. :)

I still believe that RHW will be the opening song (see: David Foster gala).

    ::bows down::

  16. I expect him to have a theme to the program--some sort of narrative or theme which would determine song choices and the the order they are presented, as would Couchie's variations in tempo. So I'm not sure...... The Christmas show was 19 songs--lots of banter. The theme of that show was a no brainer. What will this one be?

That's an interesting idea. I really hadn't thought about a theme (unless its JBT2 ;) ). I am envisioning a show that is similar to the JNaT, just very laid back with lots of funny banter, snarking on the audience, etc, in between songs. But that is probably more because I have no imagination.....which is why Clay hasn't called me to be his tour manager yet.

Try, Dream, and Compromise. All co-written by Matt Bronlewee, a CCM writer and producer who was at the Nashville conference. Compromise was planned for the album til the last minute. An earlier track list also had a song called "Mysterious."

It would be cool to hear these songs eventually, but I'm just not expecting them on this tour.

Oooh I hope we get stump the band again. I really loved that at the JBT. But the thing is, I wouldn't be surprised if Clay came up with something equally fun to do this tour.

Hee, stump the orchestra? I am sure he'll have some sort of cool thing each night that makes each concert unique. Can't wait to find out what it is!

Honestly, I'll take him singing anything he wants, anyway he wants and it's fun to read everyone's set list. I was surprised that " I Survived You" wasn't on our list. I've seen that one bandied about elsewhere.

Yep, I'll take him singing anything he wants, too. The only reason I didn't include ISY on my set list was because there are so many people across the boards who will probably take it as a sign if he does sing it. There has been a lot of talk about how he could really "feel" it now....and while I always thought he did really "feel" it, I think most of them mean something to do with Clive/RCA. :pod:

  17. Ya'll need to seriously break up that list with about 4 uptempo songs. My brain is toast right now though. I wonder how Clay would sound singing George Michael's Faith...oh wait..heee would he sing that?

Pfffffffft I like it just fine the way it is. *blows raspberry* Although I do agree with the suggestion to add in These Open Arms. Love that song.

  18. 1. Here You Come Again

    2. Right Here Waiting

    3. Lonely No More

    4. Because You Loved Me

    5. Everything I Do (I Do It For You)

    6. Why Don't We Do It In the Road?

    7. Everytime You Go Away

    8. Run to Me

    9. Broken Wings

    10. A Thousand Days

    11. Alone

    12. I Will Carry You (the Oprah arrangement, with added strings)

    13. When You Say You Love Me

    14. To Love Somebody

    15. When A Man Loves A Woman

    16. TOUCH

I've got to add another one - I was just reminded of luckiest1's idea:

    17. I Know How the River Feels (with full orchestration - can you imagine??) and this one has to be on the list:

    18. Lover All Alone

Great additions! And then the stage would go dark, and the screaming and clapping and pounding of feet would go on and on.........and then he'd come back and kill us all off with

    19. If You Don't Know Me By Now

    20. Invisible

Man, I love this set list! :hubbahubba: although I'm not sure I can even visualize #6! :medium-smiley-070:
