  1. Really off topic...

I just got home from my new job downtown and was amazed to see that I'm home even earlier than when I used to work about 10 miles from here. I'm also ready to kiss the ground and/or my car because as I was rushing out to leave early this morning, I thought I hit the curb next to my garage because I felt a slight bump. I drove into my garage again and was getting ready to back out when this panicked man appeared at my window waving his arms. Apparently I had bumped his car and was about to hit it again. He was pissed and wanted to call the police to file a report but I told him that I needed to drive downtown to a new job so he just copied my info and I left, promising to swing by his unit when I got home from work. The day went sort of ok -- my new computer hadn't arrived but some other team on our floor let me use their lab for the day and then gave me the key so that I could use it again for a few more days, not too much to do since everyone was rushing to prepare for a client conference this week. I left the parking lot at about 4:50 after checking anxiously and finding out that both the playstation3 and the guitar hero guitars were still in it (I had no choice but to leave them there because I forgot to unload them from merrieeee's yesterday, but I guess downtown crime hasn't risen that much yet since they were still in the back), and hurried home to face the music. I picked up a still camera and went upstairs to knock at the guy's door dreading what he was going to say, but when he opened the door he said that he checked it and there wasn't any damage and I probably just hit one of the plastic parts. Woo-hoo!!! *huge sigh of relief*

So, I'm looking forward to being downtown again and having lunch sometime with KAndre and keepingfaith. Oh, and btw my room faces Bell St and because the only thing across us is a parking lot, I can see all the way to Clay Street every time I look out the window. *tiny squeee!*

    Topic? :Iluvclaysbutt:

ETA: cindilu2, there's lots more and I'm off to work on them. Wasn't ldyjocelyn's work just amazing? It was her very first time with the camera and that's not easy since it's somewhat unwieldy and unless your hands are as big as Clay's that thing is not very easy to manage.

  2. ldyj, there is a Motown Medley in these files but it began with "My Girl". On the tape, this comes up immediately after the last note of the 60's happy together, so there is a slight gap that consists of solitaire and the motown intro. I hope it wasn't the tape but it's mainly over just 1 song, Solitaire. Sorry about that.

  3. Ok, I loved giggling Clay... but no one answered the question as to what set him off in the first place. I remember knowing onest upon a time, but have forgotten. Something in the banter, I'm sure... but what????

Well, in the last two days, I have babysat 5 of my 6 grandkids for Valentine's Day purposes from early morning to late at night on Sat and till 4pm today. Whew! Next year, I'm going to the Bahamas or Houston (hehe) or somewhere for Valentine's Day... I love them to pieces, but I'm worn OUT!!! Glad I don't have to go to work tomorrow.

Come to Houston, liney! It'll be great to see you! (standard disclaimer: however if someone's at Kimmel, we might not be here)

There was a lot of Tampa banter but I think WY was after he smutted.

Motown files added to the Boston upload site --- I asked geekette to process these plus the 50"s as a batch tomorrow, so we should get large & small wmv's as well as a CU link soon, though not tonight.

    http://www.stripedsocksirens.com/members/S.../050828_Boston/

keepingfaith, these were all the Motown items I could find on the tape. Maybe there was a clack police incident near couchie and ldyj. I think you'll love the pip, though. Like I pointed out to Annabear, this guy was on his honeymoon and he got dragged invited to come to 2 Clay Aiken concerts.

  4. Awwww... thanks for the link calurker :thankyou:

Now, as promised, Stephen Crane’s Broadway Valentine to Clay Aiken and Spamalot:

    021409-0527-clayaikenge1.jpg

    Fast rode the knight,

    With spurs, hot and reeking,

    Ever waving an eager sword,

    “To save my lady!”

    Fast rode the knight,

And leaped from saddle to war.

Men of steel flickered and gleamed

    Like riot of silver lights,

And the gold of the knight’s good banner

Still waved on a castle wall.

This is what I was looking at, Scarlett http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_c2lWOa1E8...=1&index=17

    And thanks bottlecap!

Awwwww, that was the cutest DCAT Without You! Love the giggles...

How bad is it that I knew it was Tampa based on where toni7babe was sitting? (ie. her line of sight; didn't notice the Label right away)

Sigh, Tampa! Where people were spreading rumors that a clackdown was ordered via fax machine by RCA. :hysterical:

    ETA:

Awwwww, that was the cutest DCAT Without You! Love the giggles...
    That was CUTE! ICG.gif

annabear, I'm about to upload ldyj's Boston Pip-picking and that was so cute as well. This guy had a sign that said, "I can't believe my wife is making me go to 2 Clay Aiken concerts... on our honeymoon!"

  5. Oh, bwah, I just went to look it up for you and it says right on the video. D'OH!

    ETA: Oh, it's a SRHP/DCAT video. But, no, I haven't seen a 'humping' video--that I'm aware of anyway.

EATA: Oh, wait wait wait, maybe I have seen it. A girl wants to sing the KLo-duet WY with Clay and he says something about "she's dancing all up on ya like this" and puts his leg up and then goes OOPS about it, right?

LOL! Yes,that's right about the humping. :cryingwlaughter:

But now my interest is piqued about the trying-not-to-laugh Without You video. I guess you were watchng the ATDW "Without You". Please, please post the YouTube link because odds are that I was at that concert but I just don't remember it.

(oops, gotta run and set up more of ldyj's files to render. been home for over an hour and haven't run them yet. brb)

ETA: Thank you, bottle!!! Way to go!

  6. Does anyone know where the clack is of Clay trying to sing "Without You" and also trying to not giggle the whole time?

Was that in Charlotte after the "humping" incident?

    ???

    :huh-bwah:

I don't know... I was watching YouTube once and saw a video of Clay trying not to giggle during WY, no context... Humping incident??? :sleezy:

Post the link and we'll figure it out for you -- lot of clues with the NAT since he rotated throught several outfits.

No, no, it was NOT sleazy. Humping was adorable. You haven't seen it yet?

  7. Just checking in...

Couchie, ROTFL! When he was 2 yrs old DS locked himself in the masters bedroom and the helpers had to call me at the office to come home and get him out.

I have opinions on the fandom and getting over bridges about getting over bridges about getting over bridges about not getting over bridges about all the fandom news in the past 6 hours, days, months and years but it wasn't worth breaking up a hilarious Guitar Hero session to express them. I'll get around to posting them soon. *yawns*

Thanks so much to merrieeee for hosting yet another lovely eHP gettogether! And thanks to Solo, KAndre and 00lsee for bringing the goodies that I'd planned, hoped, wished to bring. More pictures soon, including one of the Japanese ATDW that KAndre got, Eeeeee!!!

ETA:: Ringtones -- I use my favorite mp3's.

  8. I just reread the blog *waves at Scarlett*, and I just gotta say that gosh, I love him. Even when he's in pain, he's sweet and smart and kinda snarky. I love the fact that he said that people close to him mentioned he should blog -- not taking orders from his fans, yep. I also love that he knows how "we" notice things that he has no conscious memory of doing. Heh. And then, poor baby, with his surgery. Awwwwww. I wub him.

*waves back enthusiastically at ldyj* There'll be more Sunday night -- I just had to prepare for a visit from the cable people tomorrow, so I put the big stuff away. Unless you want something specific, I'm skipping to Motown next per kf; he went pip-picking close to you, didn't he? geekette's going to vault it in batches so the folks who use only large & small wmv's don't have it yet but they will soon

  9. OMG just to think of him playing that game!!!

Wish I were a fly on the wall for that!!!

Hell no, I wanna be right in the room, laughing along!!

    "Heal, Clay, Heal."

I think the clues would sound better if he were reading them! *wonders if we have enough soundbytes to string all the words of the clues together... hmmm, brilliant plan to ask him to sing 'what's new pussycat?' at the Borgata...*

liney! thanks for posting your story. quite a lot of us were at the Vegas IT then... I heard that some people even met at a karaoke place... *looks around -- I could outline the story but they can tell it so much better*

Soooo... Anyone else besides me still re-reading the blog? :)

  10. Scarlett.....hmm you must not check your text messages!!!!!

Just think it what if it had been Clay wanting you to be his FBM. Oh well too late!

    Aaaargh!!!

Hey, you know if you guys don't want to play "Dirty Minds" anymore we can mail it to him. You know, to distract him. :)

(I just read your text message. Thanks a bunch merrieeee! :thankyou: I was packing up my office today, sorry. I'm moving downtown on Monday)

  11. Clay tells dirty jokes

Ok that's it, that's the straw...I am outta here. I just can't take it any more!!!!

And we never played this game either!.... :cryingwlaughter:

So....where the heck are the eHP reports? Aren't they having a party tonight? Have one for me, ladies!

We're playing "Dirty Minds" and this is one of the clues:

I had a hairy round orb in my palm. It felt hard when I squeezed it. After I used my mouth to suck out its milky liquid, I stuck its meat in later.

    Answer:

    a coconut

For today, and as a warm-up for this weekend:

There they were, four huge guys looking down on me. Their rocks were gigantic. You could tell that a lot of people had banged them. Each erection was a work of art...

    Answer:

    Mt. Rushmore

And btw, Lotus sent me these great eagle pictures. Thanks! :thankyou:

Lastly, I already sent this to geekette but in case you want a headstart on ldyj's Boston50'sMedley... (take only the one you need)

    http://www.stripedsocksirens.com/members/S.../050828_Boston/

  12. Awww, I missed you Permaswooned! :thbighug-1:

Glad to see you posting again, and I remember those times... *smiles* During those early days it seemed like I was always sitting either right in front of or right next to you!

To everyone whose lives are being affected by the economy, {{{hugs and prayers}}} for you and your loved ones!!! :elephanthugs:

Um, I still would like to know how to store the rest of the shortening -- they're not in a can but they're shaped like little butter sticks. Should I still put the one I used 1 T out of back into the pantry? Anyone? Beuller?

Thanks a bunch, ldyj!!! *skips off to work*

  13. Oh my gosh Scarlett -- I had almost forgotten about being a camera-person at that show. I'm almost scared about that clack, I wasn't familiar with your camera at all, especially the zoom. I'm really afraid people might get seasick while watching that clack!

    {{{{{{merryclay and gbmifan and gfmifanhubby}}}}}

What is pissing me off right now is that I ended up having a terrible day at work, feeling really depressed about even going back there tomorrow. It's especially bad when it's a budget thing that's causing so much work angst for me. And then I get here -- and I'm reading stories like gbmifan, and I really have to step back. It makes me really upset that I DO have a job, with benefits, and yet I HATE it. There's got to be a lesson in there somewhere, right?

It's been fun reading everyone's stories about meeting up with new friends, sleeping with strangers, and such.

ldyj, I could send it to you first so that you can say yea or nay, but from what I've seen so far (just the 50's medley) it's been great!!! You didn't tell me you were right in front of the piano for "Great Balls of Fire". We all know what it's like to hold a camera for the first time -- and even if it's not the first time, eg. at GFI the other week I was shaking on TITM more than the other songs but I'm not kicking myself because it was literally a thudding moment for me and I was still reeling at the thought of all the things that came together (*send virtual hugs to those super-nice fans from Florida whom I met just that evening, who gave me 2 seats at their table up front and of course PerusingOne and merrieeee who planned the trip, got the great hotel and made sure we got there in one piece*) for me to be sitting right there a few feet away for a song I've been longing to hear. You and couchie much have felt much the same way with a front row seat (couchie's first) at a JBT show, the day after her NH moment!!! So, may I upload? huh? Huh? Pretty please? *tugs at ldyj's shirt*
  14. I'm running ldyj's front row clack from Boston. It's in HD but we didn't have the magic mike back then, although we do have clack with great audio from the the same venue taken by LonelyNoMore44 on the small magic camera. I could splice it but that would take forever -- so I'm doing ldj's clack as is. Hope that's ok!

  15. {{{gbmifan & dh}}} :thbighug-1:

:hugs-1: to gbmifan. I hope things get better for you.

ETA: This isn't random at all, but I totally didn't know that TITM was a Broadway song. I just heard it on the Broadway radio channel.

It was from Jekyll & Hyde. Remember when Clay went to see 'A Tale of Two Cities'? There was a picture of him with the J&H composer, Frank Wildhorn. He also composed 'Sarah' which Clay sany at DC last year. Wonder if that means anything? Frank seems to have 4 projects in the works: The Count of Monte Cristo, Wonderland (ie. Alice), Bonnie and Clyde and Havana. Would one of these be a good fit for Clay? *thinking Warren Beatty while humming er, attempting unsuccessfully to hum 'If I Could Fly' from Dracula*

ANTM has been delayed a week!

    ANTM Delayed

ee I learned how to make pretty links.

OK so today was a bad/good day. First my car wouldn't start....$600 later it now starts! But I got my call tones to work and Scarlett has already called me just to listen to the ring. No she didn't want anything just like the time she was standing behind me in Target and called my cell phone just to hear Clay singing Right Here Waiting For You!

*gasps* merrieeee! How, how could you post that?!! I have a good mind to call you right now and.. *g*

So, will the other shows be delayed or will a 2-part pilot become a 1-part (but longer) one? I kinda liked April 8.

Couchie and ldyjocelyn were on the front row in Boston?!! Eeeeek, something's missing.... and I have to go find it and put it on right now...

So many stories to catch up on. Thank you so much, everyone!!! :BlowKiss:

ETA: I also have a rather stupid question. Are you supposed to refrigerate unused shortening?

  16. Thank you all for the great stories!!! I love reading them. :thankyou::BlowKiss:

*waves to annabear -- I still wish you could come but you'll be in my thoughts!*

I was telling someone that Clay has numerous boards, certainly more than any other artist that I am aware of. I was asked "how many" and I said, off the top of my head, um way more than 50, and that wouldn't even include the ones that started and stopped. Would I be right in saying that?

There's a link to the "Finding Clay Aiken" website at the top of this page. On that page, there will be some options on the left -- click on "Clay on the Web". This brings up various types of web pages, a link to them and a total count. The number right now is 41, though I think we just did bit of clean up by removing old links. There may be new boards that aren't there yet.

    :nature-smiley-014:

  17. My start in the fandom? Hardcore? Hmmm, I don't think I was crazy during the AI2 tour (just went to the Houston show, did have front row tickets, did skip work to let people I didn't know from Adam to stay in my house and party with) - I consider myself to have truly lost my mind in November of 2003, when a woman that I actually referred to by her screen name (Sane as in "SaneAikenFan" - yeah right) impulsively bought tickets to the AMAs a month before the show and asked did I wanna go...and I said yes. And the tickets turned out to be the good tickets and me 'n abbyharp walked down the red carpet...the actual red carpet...just before Clay and Ruben. The first time I was within 10 feet of Clay. And the skankiest Pam Anderson alive but nevermind. Oh Lord, that was a trip and a half! And I believe the first place I met Scarlett - who I didn't really get to know until she showed up at my house to ride the vibrating subwoofer all the way to Dallas. I think she was wearing a long formal in navy blue. I had on gold. Much of the trip is fuzzy, in that good fuzzy way.

Oh and remember how before the AMA we ate at this place with those waiters who assumed that we didn't want any change for our food no matter what we gave, eg. if you had an item that cost $6 and you handed him a $20 then he thought the $14 was a tip? And we took forever to straighten that out but in the end we were glad because that timed everything perfectly so that you and abbyharp were right there when Clay walked in?
